OUCH! Looks like IAVA (?) just took a rather sizable hit…
December 10th, 2009
Gelbaum also announced he was halting some $12 million in yearly gifts to the Sierra Club Foundation and about $50 million a year that he’s been giving to an organization serving veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I hope it is VoteVets and not IAVA, but damn. It’s budget time, you are an office with like 20, maybe 30 employees, and you are told to cut 50 million out of the operating budget?
Wow. Read the whole article.

50 million a year? How could VoteVets or IAVA go through 50 mil a year from 1 donor? Wouldn’t that be their entire budget for 3-5 years?

That’s a shit load of pot and booze right there, man.

O-M-G! This entire article is just too damn funny. And the chain of events is just SO logical and yet ironic.
An anonymous donor, by name(!), has to stop donating.
Who to? The ACLU, the Sierra Club, and an unnamed Vet’s organization (couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of assholes!) (And, we see this donor’s political bent, by who he donates to)
Why? Beause he lost a sizable portion of his hedge fund investmants (capitalism in action) in alternative clean green energy companies (This just screams HIPPIE!).
Who did this Mystery Donor use to work for? Doing what?
He is/was a math professor at U Cal Irvine.
I hope I’m not the only one to see the mixed messages here.
And he wants others to step up and take his place to continue donating to these “worthy” organizations!!?? Yeah! Soros and who else?
As I said, I’m barely containing myself from falling out of my chair, ROFLOL! Delicious!

I really wish it wasn’t IAVA though. I think on bulk they do a good job, just not on some things where they veer a bit off the platform. VV though, those sonsabitches are completely full of shit.

Sorry TSO,
But IAVA is on my shit list. Always will be. Until they disavow starting out as Operation Truth, using disabled vets in their political ads to further ingrain the vet=victim myth, their “report card” against McCain that was so full a shit, it came with its own diaper, the sexual threeways with Obama and Kerry, and serving as a vehicle to prop up Rye Cough’s political ambitions…IAVA can go fuck themselves. The moment you use our fallen brethren to enhance yourself personally, and especially politically, you are a piece of shit.

Looks like USMC Chris has a problem with the Disabled American Veterans also. As I explained to Mark, the votes that IAVA used for their scorecard were the same ones that the DAV used. I love those anti-DAV groups.

Dude, 50 mil a year? No wonder they could outspend us, holy shit. Where was that /going/.

This is the best news I have read all weekend. I do have to wonder what they have been doing with a $50 million a year budget?

[...] veteran organization that lost $50 million donations is speculated to be either IAVA or Vote Vets. I personally hope it is VoteVets that took the hit because I can’t stand this fraudulent [...]
