When is being a paratrooper in the 82d Airborne Division not good enough? Apparently when you’re a County Commissioner in Georgia (Atlanta Journal Constitution link);
Resentment has been building since June, when Good stepped down from his campaign for a third term after his claims of service as an Army Ranger and an earned bachelor’s degree were challenged by the local newspaper, the Cherokee Ledger News. Good, who did serve in the 82nd Airborne Division, admitted he did not serve in the Rangers and lied about a business degree from the University of Maryland.

Hell, its more of a crime to lie about the degree from Maryland. A college education is something you have to actually invest time and effort into…his fake army thing is just something he could have signed up for.

Ya, like sleep. You can ‘half step’ your way to quite a few college degrees, but see how far you get half stepping your way through Ranger School. Hell, see how far you get trying to half step through jump school!

Derek Good was a liar from day one. He also attacked people locally, who outed him. He curried favor from Garrison and had people arrested who knew his background.
