Intelligence community needs diversity

| May 13, 2011

Cortillaen sends us a link from The Hill which reports on the best way to lard up an intelligence spending bill, starring race pimp Maxine Waters;

The House on Thursday afternoon accepted two Democratic amendments to a bill authorizing intelligence spending for the rest of FY 2011.

The first, from Rep. John Barrow (D-Ga.), would require intelligence agencies to work with black colleges to develop curricula that will prepare students for intelligence careers. The second, from Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), would require a report on the diversity of intelligence officers.

Yeah, cuz diversity is the intelligence community’s biggest problem. It’s not the lack of qualified candidates, the lack of trained officers, or the lack of equipment, it’s the lack of melanin.

This from the same mental giant who was on TV during the Rodney King riots screaming, “No justice, no peace!” and is only marginally brighter than Shelia “More Black Hurricane Names!” Jackson-Lee.

Tell us, Maxine, would you want someone working for the CIA who is the most capable person that was available, or a person who “fills the billet” because they filled in the right blocks on the diversity questionaire?

    The stupid…it burns…

You already know the answer to your question to Maxine ‘I ain’t did nuttin’ Waters. You’ve seen what the government looks like and how ‘efficiently’ it runs.

  4. Susan says:

Ok, so the Barrows thing on working on curricula to get people ready for a career doesn’t bother me that much. It might even be a good idea. Maxine, however, the stupid is strong in this one.

  5. Finrod says:

Truth is indeed stranger then fiction, because you can’t make this shit up. How do these idiots survive day to day? They would see us all go down the tubes to serve their own idiot goals. The sad thing, they’ll probably be reelected.

  6. Kate says:

I have no problem with a diversity report, as long it as it is allowed to tell the truth. If the truth hurts, so be it. If any particular demographic group does haven’t the brains or education to fill our intelligence needs, there should be no shame in saying so.

  7. OldSoldier54 says:

Maxine Waters … heh. Talk about a dim light bulb …

  8. DaveO says:

I thought Congress had thrown Waters out for steering all that lovely cash to her husband’s bank during TARP? Or was it that she didn’t keep the cash in her freezer?

I’d like to see the CIA have some diversity. There’s too many back-stabbing anti-America careerist idiots in it at present. If we could get some former uniforms – folks with at least 2 neurons firing in sequence we may actually have a spy service that serves our great Nation.

  9. Claymore says:

If any particular demographic group does haven’t the brains or education to fill our intelligence needs, there should be no shame in saying so.

More to the point, perhaps the targeted demographic has a cultural tendency to eschew certain professions? Then there are regional and ethnic concerns. Seriously, how many black NASCAR drivers are there…there’s like ONE, that I know of. Should there be a NASCAR outreach program? What? Oh…there is? Fuck it, we’re doomed.

There are times when I am really ashamed to be from Georgia.

And how about working with *all* colleges to develop curricula that would prepare students of all stripes for a career in intelligence? A degree in political science, international relations, cultural studies (etc.) alone doesn’t cut it, and few institutions offer targeted graduate programs.

Course, programs that teach students *how* to think instead of *what* to think would be a good step in the right direction, too. I was lucky enough to land in a program that did, and experienced enough to know the difference.

  11. DaveO says:

    #10 Mrs. B,

    Georgia is not at fault.

The majority of our nation’s institutions of higher learning, even high & elementary schools, have rich programs in multiculturalism.

It’s not that our diplomats and spies don’t know their target countries – it’s that they fail to love our great nation even more.

To better address your point, I would add mandatory classes in logic. Not the fluffy, everything is equivalent logic that sociologists favor, but actual logic.

  12. Doc Bailey says:

Maxine Waters, Barbra Boxer, Diane Finstien, Nancy Peloci and half a dozen others are why I NEVER told anyone I was from Cali when I was in. Aside from all the gay San Fransisco cracks, you hear about Sh*t like this. That there is a district DUMB enough to keep reelecting Waters, (who is as crooked as most of Obama’s Chicago buddies) says a lot about my beloved Golden State. Every chance she gets she rails on about racial issues. Talking about how Imperial valley is getting screwed by a federal injunction cutting off water from a farming comunity. . . no she wats to talk about the importance of funding innercity “ethnic” programs. 20,000 people out of a job IN HER OWN STATE, one of America’s bread baskets, that does more than just drain resourses. . . nope not important.

And Really in intel WHO CARES what color you are. Unless you’re trying to infiltrate an african nation, what should it matter what race or ethnicity a person is? I honestly think we should take race questions OFF all job applications. then race truly won’t matter.

OK as a tennessean i have to ask.

Why the fuck are there so many stupid congress critters and such from Georgia?

I mean really peanut wasnt enough?

Stories like this always make me wonder if Dr. King is spinning in his grave. Makes me sad that the field I’m going into, hoping to excel on my merits is potentially falling to the same stupid crap as the rest.
