It  ain’t a done deal so I’m just enjoying a laugh.
Senate Approves Bill that Legalizes Sodomy and Bestiality in U.S. Military

The Senate on Thursday evening voted 93-7 to approve a defense authorization bill that includes a provision which not only repeals the military law on sodomy, it also repeals the military ban on sex with animals–or bestiality.

On Nov. 15, the Senate Armed Services Committee had unanimously approved S. 1867, the National Defense Authorization Act, which includes a provision to repeal Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).

Article 125 of the UCMJ makes it illegal to engage in both sodomy with humans and sex with animals.

Can’t you just see some Senator or aide saying “What, how’d that get in there?”

And I just gotta ask… Is this a move to protect gays, or an attempt increase recruitment from among certain ethic/religious groups?

Sounds like a queer deal to me.

Redacted- I second that! Who makes that decision? Isn’t the argument against comparing sexual predilictions like beastiality and homosexuality is that one is consensual and one is not. So when did not consensual sex become okay in the military? Can we expect them to rescind the restrictions on child porn and child relationships also. Ugh! No slippery slope there at all.. nothing to see here.

All I remember is the punchline: “We use Ahab’s camel to ride into town where the women are.”

  5. Redacted1775 says:

It’s all going in the direction I thought it would, and I ain’t happy about it. Legal or not, if I catch ANYONE trying to rape my dog, they will be shot on sight. Several times.

  6. Redacted1775 says:

I’m hoping someone comes to their sense and leaves the part of article 125 that prevents buggery of animals intact.

  7. Doc Bailey says:

I heard a great story of a Major’s wife that got a dog to mount her. Only he got stuck. You can imagine how that looked when they rolled into the ER. He was out in the field, and got a rather embarrassing phone call.

some sleeping dogs should just be left alone.

  8. CI says:

The repeal of the Sodomy ban is long overdue…….surely our esteemed legislators can craft the wording to keep the family pet out of the fray. Not that a law is going to keep a sheep defiler from defiling sheep or anything…..

  9. Anonymous says:

I guess we have to pass the bill to find out what’s in the bill.

Oops. Logged on from a tablet, not my computer. All the ID spaces were blank & I didn’t catch it.

  11. OWB says:

See – that is only one of the offensive aspects of this bill – that there should actually be a discussion about the family pet being excluded, but farm animals and strays should be included?

Oh, yeah. These clowns in DC have waaaaaaaay too much time on their hands.

  12. UpNorth says:

Beat me to it, Woody. Now. the next question, does the repeal of the sodomy ban apply to only consensual sodomy, or all sodomy?

  13. Blanka says:

Ahahaha, now there are even more opportunities to get pussy in the military. ;o) Meow.

  14. Toothless Dawg says:

so when the proverbial camel gets its nose under the tent, its now ok to get a blowjob?

  15. CI says:

Shouldnt it be ok to get a blowjob?

  16. 2-17 AirCav says:

Yes, that’s okay. Screwing your best friend’s wife is okay. Screwing your mother is okay. Screwing Lassie and Mr. Ed is okay. Screwing the crack of dawn is okay. Every-freakin’-thing you want to do is okay.

  17. FreddieLounds says:

It bothers me that there has to be a law against bestiality. Can’t we all as gentlemen silently agree not to do such things?

  18. Alberich says:

UpNorth – it applies to all sodomy per se. However, Article 120, the consolidated sex-crime statute, covers every kind of nonconsensual sex act you could wish, including oral and anal.

Getting rid of the consensual sodomy statute is a good idea. In practice, this is used as a “consolation prize” for prosecutors. Say a troop has sex at a barracks party, admits the sex (including oral sex), but says it was consensual. The girl says it was rape all the way. If the prosecutors charge both rape and consensual sodomy, they are guaranteed to convict him of something even if he’s acquitted of the real crime. That simply isn’t right.

Article 120 includes a crime called “indecent acts with another” – which in practice is used to punish “public sex” (i.e., you have a threesome, or two couples have voluntary sex in the same room at the same time). Again, in practice, this gets charged in rape cases, where the prosecution is afraid they might lose on the rape charge, but they want “something they can get him on.” This, too, ought to be excised from the UCMJ.

Animal sex can still be punished under Article 134 – at least in any case where buggering dogs and sheep “tends to bring the Armed Forces into disrepute.” Which, as far as my imagination stretches, is all of them.

  19. Alberich says:

Freddie #17 – Alas, we must take into account those ghastly cads and bounders who would break that agreement. And might explain themselves thusly.

  20. ben says:

Ahhh…CI with his “right to sodomy” again.

  21. UpNorth says:

I can see that I turned off the sarcasm alert too soon. Sorry, Al, I was being sarcastic.
I’m eagerly awaiting a response from the offices of the renowned defense expert, Carl Levin, to my email inquiring as to the ways that he intends to unfuck this fuck up.

  22. CI says:

Look, here’s Ben with his Reductio ad absurdum, right on cue.

There is no ‘right’ to sodomy. Nobody here it seems has ever claimed that there was. There is also no ‘right’ to missionary sex. What is at stake in arguments such as these, is one’s position on the individual exercise of liberty.

The irony here is that in an effort to restrict that exercise of homosexuals, far more heterosexuals are affected, at least on paper.

  23. Brian says:

As much as bestiality is gross and I do not support it, we don’t need the government in our bedrooms. I am all against blocking forms of forceable sex (rape) but who gives a shit if a person is a sodomizer really? Blowjobs aren’t illegal? C’mon…

  24. melle1228 says:

    >As much as bestiality is gross and I do not support it, we don’t need the government in our bedrooms

You do realize that bestiality is a form of forceable sex and thus should be illegal.

  25. Brian says:

    > You do realize that bestiality is a form of forceable sex
    > and thus should be illegal.

What am I Obama? You didn’t read the next sentence.

  26. Doc Bailey says:

I have a “right” to demand a blowjob. Doesn’t mean I’m going to get it. Although, and if we’re being honest here, there are some military women, its hard NOT to get a blowjob from them. Which would explain why Sick Call Monday morning usually has the same guys in the same company complaining about how it burns when they piss.

Having said that, there are actually legitimate medical reasons not to sodomize (in this case we’re going to assume consensual sticking of dick in ass) You know how you get hemorrhoids if you strain too hard when you take a shit? yeah, apparently that also happens during anal sex. Also it can cause taring of the rectal and colon walls. If you know anything about the GI system you’d know this is a REALLY bad thing. I can go on and on, and yes there is research to back me up. Sadly we’re too PC to accept this but hey what can you do?

  27. melle1228 says:

    >What am I Obama? You didn’t read the next sentence.

Just wanted clarification and to know if I should hide my dogs 🙂

  28. Beretverde says:

Brings home a new meaning to the term “Goat Fuck.”

  29. Brian says:

@Doc: Rough sex causes tearing the vagina too. Are we to ban that?

I’m not for sodomy, OK. It’s not my cup of tea. But at the same time who really cares? Let’s not disguise this as a medical “issue”. Because I’ve seen plenty of fat Air Force guys to know that there are bigger health issues afoot.

  30. OWB says:

Well, Brian, you obviously don’t want to see it, but there are tremendous differences between the health issues involved. If you had ever seen someone die from peritinitus, you would understand.

The main issue for many of us is quite simple: we just don’t care what consenting adults do privately. Period. End of story.

I reserve the right to object to being forced to participate in, if only by watching, ANY sort of sexual activity publicly, and will stop it if it occurs on my front porch.

  31. Doc Bailey says:

@29: the vagina is one of the few self cleaning organs in the human body, as long as you aren’t an idiot and shove soap up there (which kills the PH balance and thus the cleaning system) even severe tearing will heal easily.

The large intestine is full of bacteria (the small intestine is not), and if you have any perforations in the colon, that bacteria will go nuts. While said bacteria helps digestion, if introduced to the abdominal cavity, its a REALLY bad thing.

Also another fun fact, people who have lots of anal sex, tend to have problems holding in their bowel movements. Ahh the medical things they never tell you.

  32. Alberich says:

He called it the “GI system” heh heh heh

  33. CI says:

@26 – “Sadly we’re too PC to accept this but hey what can you do?”

All of your points are valid, but I’m not sure how PC comes into play. People are going to do what they wish sexually, laws be damned. Your points could also be a factor in why many gay men choose not to engage in anal sex.

  34. UpNorth says:

Hey, this was brought up in the White House daily briefing, Mr. Carney handles it with the usual aplomb of the Obama team.

  35. CI says:

Not really surprised that it was WND who posed the question…..
