Phillip Dale Monkress; phony SEAL in FL
Editor’s Note: Monkress needed a bump up to the top. His lawyer is sending threatening letters to our friends and I guess she decided after a phone call with me, that her threats would only be a day’s welcomed distraction. Someone is walking the halls of Congress with Monkress’ DD214 today asking questions. I’ve added some more evidence that Monkress called himself a Navy SEAL, which seems to be their defense these days, that he never said he was a SEAL. So Lori Benton of Ford & Harrison, Attorneys at Law, you know our number.
Someone sent us some information on Phillip Dale Monkress who was outed late last year by POW Network as a phony SEAL, but he’s still rockin’ the lie, so it’s time to call out the pitchfork brigade. Here’s picture of him in his motorcycle club, the US Military Veterans’ Motorcycle Club;

I also notice his records indicate he was discharged as a DS2 and he’s wearing 1st class PO pin. Possible he was frocked, but, considering his SEAL claims I don’t think he deserves any benefit of the doubt.

He entered the Navy from OKC. If he’s from OK originally, the claim of Native American ancestry is plausible. Many tribes were relocated to reservations in OK during the 1800s. It was formally considered “Indian Territory” until the late 1800s or early 1900s.
Whether it’s true or not is another question.
Requirements for tribal membership vary from tribe to tribe. As I recall, it generally doesn’t require 100% NA heritage – some allow membership with substantially less NA ancestry, 25% (or less) if I recall correctly. In OK that’s quite plausible.
No, I’m not defending this ass – claiming SEAL qual and rank you didn’t earn is BS. But he may technically qualify for tribal affiliation – and thus NA Owned Small Business status.
Or he might be lying through his teeth.

It’s 1/16 or less in many, Hondo, and if he is in fact indigenous, he’d be on a roll. Much like my brother and I are just under half at 3/8, we have eligibility for 3 different registers. My niece, under those qualifications, is 5/8 and eligible for our 3, plus my sister-in-law’s 2 since she’s Kiowa and Wichita and they also both register at 1/16.
If he’s claiming status as a NA-owned small business, I want to see his damned roll number. It would only take a simple phone call to Anadarko to confirm.

Yat Yas 1833: DS2 is a data systems technician, 2nd class. Pay grade is E5.
My guess is that he received a promotion to E5 between Apr and Aug 1992. But there might be another explanation. One of the Navy vets here will have to weigh in on that.
Doesn’t excuse him wearing E6 insignia in the photo, though.

TR: I think you need to look again, amigo.
1. He’s wearing an unauthorized SEAL trident – BUD/S ain’t in his records. He’s absolutely busted on that one.
2. He’s wearing PO1 brass (see comment 3 above) – his FOIA shows he left the Navy as a PO2 (that’s an E5; PO1 is an E6). He’s absolutely busted on that one, too.
3. The NA preference claim may or may not be accurate; that one needs further research to determine whether or not he really does have tribal standing. Might or might not be true, and pretty easy to check. I suspect ROS will do exactly that.
To me, that looks like 2 “charges” above are accurate, and 1 is pending further evaluation and might also be accurate.
Given this guy’s already proven he’s willing to lie about his military qualifications and former rank by wearing stuff he doesn’t rate, I don’t find it a stretch to think he might have lied to the VA too.

According to his records, he is a DS3….unless he got frocked to 2nd class on the way out. When I was in, around that time frame, I don’t recall the DS rate as a source for SEAL recruiting. And hell, I got Cherokee blood too…but I sure as hell ain’t a SEAL! Another Twidgett with some serious delusions of Grandeur! To answer some of the questions posed here:
Navy general rating exams for PO3, 2, and 1 (E-4,-5, and -6) are taken twice a year, in March and September. The results are announced around the beginning of June/December, and “frocking” takes place usually in January/July. They don’t “promote” everyone at once; based on your score/cutoff, you get a particular month when you start getting paid for it. When I was in, the first group got paid on January/July 16th, and so on through June/December 16th.
From E-4 to E-5 requires a minimum of one year TIS, and from E-5 to E-6 requires a minimum 3 years as an E-5. So while this guy MIGHT have made E-5 anytime after the March 1991 exam (making his TIR 01 July 1991) there’s no way in hell he ever saw an E-6 exam, considering he was out of the navy less than a year after making E-5 at best.
A few things stand out to me. He gets out of DS “A” School, goes to the USS Canopus (or Can-o-pussy for you bubbleheads), and is a patient at Bethesda from 03 Jan 90 to 01 Feb 90…a total of 28 days. Hmmmmm number one. He then rides a desk and fetches coffee for a year or so at TTF King’s Bay before going back to the Can-o-pussy in February 91 (which explains the SDCD–Sea Duty Commencement Date) with a PRD (Projected Rotation Date) of November 1993. He extends in April of 1991, most likely to ensure he has sufficient time to meet PRD requirements.
HOWEVER…he then transfers off Canopus in April 1992 and is at transient barracks until his discharge in August of that year.
DS2 I MIGHT believe. Native American I MIGHT believe. Everything else about this guy stinks.

Corretion to last–E-4 to E-5 requires 1 year time in GRADE, not service. That date is based on when you “made” E-4.
Case in point: I knew guys who came into boot camp as E-3 (nukes) who then went over to Snipe’s Castle for MM “A” or EM “A” school (then self-paced.) In theory (and I saw, in reality) a kid could come in, go through boot camp, blow through all the self-paced exams and get his automatic “pushbutton third” (promoted E-4.) Let’s say this all happened in the March-June timeframe. If the kid had his PARS, Military Leadership exam, etc., done by 30 June, he could then in theory take the E-5 exam in September (his TIR date was 01 January, even if he didn’t put on/get paid for his E-4 until 30 June.) This means IF he took and passed with a high enough score, he could in theory be wearing E-5 before he even had a year in the Navy, and possibly even be getting paid for it.
But that isn’t the case with this guy.
And while there have been A FEW cases of command advancement to E-6, one of the prerequisites for CAP to E-4, 5, or 6 is that all requirements be met for advancement, including TIR requirements. Again, no way this guy ever made E-6. Ever.

It would have said so in his assignments and records. He extended so EAOS matched PRD. No mention of reenlistment.
And I’m not sure if DS was a STAR-eligible rate even in the early 90′s. If it was CREO 1 or 2 it might have been, but he never went to a “C” school so no way he picked up DS2 that way.
I only dealt with DS’s when I was on the tender (Holland) and mostly they dealt with workstation and other computer issues, making sure everybody had a registered copy of Windows, antivirus software, shit like that–remember, this guy served when LAN’s were just getting started, and nobody had e-mail, Internet access was virtually nonexistent, etc.
IIRC, they did away with the DS rating just before I got out.

I’m not sure what your experience is in the biker crowd, 9 times out of 10, you will meet authentic, nice, strong, loyal, guys with combat or military service. But dicks also fuck assholes: assholes that just want to shit on everything. Pussies may think they can deal with assholes their way. Back in college I had a roomate who was engaged to a Navy SEAL. He gave me a baseball hat with a stylized Trident on it. When asked about it I told people I had a friend with the Teams. Later once when he was here with some of his team over beer one of the guys gave me a lecture about it …because I was a vet and never claimed to be whatit represented and I wore it just because it was a gift they let it slide….I never wore that hat again.

I dated Phil from 2008 til late 2010. Even after i moved from FLA to SC we still kept in touch and saw each other. I could care less what anyone wears on a leather vest… I have seen a lot of MC vests with all kinds of crazy stuff on them. Is there a picture of this guy in a uniform? Most club vests that have stuff on the front are because they have sentimental value to the person. In fact I know of several motorcycle clubs that have “Pilot wings” and even though they are the exact same ones issued by the US and GERMAN Military… I PROMISE THEY WERE NOT EARNED BY FLYING A PLANE!

If he is getting 10% disability or greater, His business is a DISABLED VETERAN OWNED BUSINESS.

I might be a noob, but I don’t jump to conclusions. Just not as cut and dry as the others I have seen on here. I did not say it was right to wear it… I just said I needed more facts. People do stupid shit all the time without intending to be disrespectful. I THINK this might be one of those situations. I look at many of the other FAKE HEROS on here and it is 100% hands down deserving of a swift kick in the ass. I believe in The Stolen Valor Act and believe it should be enforced. I just don’t see non-veterans and angry women having a say in this. That is just me… my personal thoughts. If people want to come after me for my way of thinking… so be it. Look, SAINT: all the facts necessary for an informed decision are in the article above. Monkress was in the Navy; ergo, he knows exactly what the Trident is and what it represents. And that also means he knows how damn offensive it is to SEALs for others to claim, falsely, that they’re a SEAL.
Monkress’ records show he was never a SEAL; therefore, he doesn’t rate the Trident. But he’s wearing it anyway, in public. And he knows exactly what that means – and how offensive it is. In short: he’s trading on the valor of other, better men to make himself look good by false association.
That’s all anyone needs to know about this situation. Anything else is irrelevant or an excuse.

Virtual Insanity: claiming Native American status, if false, is even more problematic.
Monkress is a Vet, so the “Vet owned/operated” business is legit whether or not he claims to be a seal. (Could still be fraud if his claims of being a SEAL were considered material to the selection.) However, if he and other ownership/corporate leadership don’t legitimately qualify for tribal status, the claims of “Native American” owned/operated business become very problematic.

icuthere: you might want to look at the slide deck at the link in comment 120 above. Monkress claims that his business is a SDB based on Cherokee tribal ownership.
Since Native American owned businesses are a SDB category, they are thus are eligible for 8a Federal contracts. However, claiming that status means that 51% or more of the company must be owned by those qualifying for tribal membership. So if his firm has gotten any 8a set-aside Federal contracts based on being a Native American owned business and they don’t have 51% or more ownership by persons who qualify as bona fide members of a Native American tribe, that’s a problem. I think it’s called “possible fraud”.

By now, you have figured out Monkress is a liar. Ok, here is some clarity for you from someone (me) who worked with Monkress, drank a lot of beer with him, and heard his tall tales of covert ops with the SEALS in the jungles of Columbia and Africa. I had no reason to disbelieve him before last week when I was told he had to write letters of apology for his lies about being a SEAL. So I did a Google search and found this blog.
1. Monkress told me he was a Navy DS2 and claimed he had to serve 2 years at sea as a DS before being allowed by the Navy to join the SEALS.
2. He was born in the Tulsa, Okla area in Indian Country. Around the 2008 timeframe, he told me his brother applied for and received membership with the Cherokee Nation based on a distant relative having been a member of the “tribe.” Membership is allowed if it can be proven that a relative’s name is on the Dawes Role, a census of all Native Americans relocated to Oklahoma. If Monkress has not applied for membership with the Cherokee Nation and continues to claim APL is a Native American-owned company, he is a fraud.
3. APL lost its 8(a) status when Chickasaw Nation Industries acquired it in 2006. Sam McGee was the majority owner, Monkress had a small share, someone else had a little. CNI returned APL to Monkress in April 2009.
4. Monkress told me he has been married 3 times. He told another confidant of mine he has been married 5 times. I’m not sure he can keep his lies straight. [...] Whether the number of wives is 3 or 5, it doesn’t matter. He has problems with an inflated ego, honesty, and with relationships.
5. He has been busted on DUI charges several times and got off each time. I believe he “failed” each time to notify his company facility security officer and the Defense Security Service because he still has his clearance.

beyond the fencepost, icuthere: if you’ve got true concerns and evidence to back them, you might want to contact the Defense Security Service. They’re the ones who manage the DoD’s Industrial Security Program. If a contract requires clearances, they’re involved.
DSS’s Melbourne Office (under their Southern Region) handles FL east of the panhandle. It can be reached at 321-255-1246.

The misrepresentation of Native American status and the unreported DUIs are indeed items DSS should be interested in hearing about.

Mr. Dumbass claims he was in the Navy from 1984 to 1992 (Navy says 1987-1992) and he was a “Data Communications/Network Information Specialist of a highly specialized field-deployed Combat Support Team providing weaponeering solutions and downwind hazard prediction for chemical/biological weapons.” His military record (see above FOIA) provides no indication he had such training unless he was monitoring farts in the hospital at Bethesda.
He claims he has been the CEO of APL from 1999 to present. Sam Magee was the majority share holder and APL’s Pres & CEO until Chickasaw Nation Industries (CNI) acquired the company in 2006. My contacts at CNI say Mr. Dumbass was the COO for only a few years before that acquisition. He was LLC manager under CNI until he was fired in April 2008. He got APL back in April 2009.

About 6-8 years ago, Sam Magee, the owner of APL before selling the company to Chickasaw Nation Industries, got busted for DUI. As a result, APL lost its facility clearance and all contracts that required clearances including contracts with NSA and DoD.
Question: given that Mr. Dirtbag Monkress has been busted for DUI, why does APL have a facility clearance and contracts that require cleared personnel? Inquiring minds want to know why the double standard exists. Is NASA, DoD, and DHS totally stupid?

Good stuff and glad to see you guys doing the dirty work to protect our veterans. It is a shame to see some veterans/ civilians taking advantage of the sacrifices that some of our veterans and service-members have made. The guy served his country and it is a shame that he cannot be proud of that.
I hope this information helps your mission but in regards to the SDVOSB/ VOSB certification. If for whatever reason you feel that anyone would be falsely misrepresenting themselves as a service-connected disabled veteran and taking advantage of the program designed to help service-disabled veterans, this website should you out: http://www.vetbiz.gov/. There are appropriate links to the CVE as well as the VA OIG who will seriously look into any concerns you might have.
The VA does use the term service-connected disability loosely and someone might qualify for the program even though injuries sustained from non-combat related actions.

If this guy had a service related disability while serving as a Data Systems tech on a sub tender tied to the pier in Georgia, then it must have been caused by drunkedness and falling down a ladder. He had no training in SEAL or CBN downrange training either. He didn’t have time to get it done. I have heard this guy’s BS stories and they make me sick. How does he sleep at night?

Disheartened, because I have known this individual for a long time and it sucks having to find the truth out from other people. The research and connections all of you have are amazing. I will make no allusions that I can do anything any of you have done when it comes to this research, however, I do have people in certain places that can verify all of this. I hope its wrong but alas, I know its not and it sucks.

I have been sitting back reading this thread about once a week over the last 5-6 months, made a few calls to check some things out, and conclude the dirt-bag has been taking credit for unearned valor, credentials, and education for almost 20 years. And now his company is benefitting from his lies. (This is the unfortunate part since he no doubt has some loyal, quality employees.)
My question is, “why even bring up ‘redemption’?” He’s way down the road on his lying habits.

A little digging reveals if it weren’t for the dirtbag’s up-close-and-personal relationship with the Boeing small business specialist, Becky Martin, All Points Logistics wouldn’t have anything to brag about. Boeing, thru Ms. Martin, wants it to look like APL is such a great small business partner, but the reality is APL is just a second-rate slug that doesn’t keep its commitments to Boeing or its other partners, including Jacobs Technologies. Ms. Martin and Mr. Monkress are … well, we’ll leave it at that.

Part of the award criteria and rationale is that All Points Logistics is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businss.

With great dismay, I have read this thread from voices unknown, that seek to pillory a life for the most minor of infractions, which has been well addressed, here. Apparently, the target of this insidious racket, primarily Internet thugs and cowards from from their writing, seek to pin the red letter of A on this Florida Prynne, for resume inflation.
What this boils down to is the “shocked and outraged crowd” complaining about a minor indulgement, if true of the Sin of Greed. Resume inflation, at its core, is a small spritual deviation into self-serving comments or inflation of one’s self in society. What all this cacophany of voices is about is the observation of one mans desire for personal gain with no victims found.
False attempts at claims to dishonor, grandiously written, as to fallen brothers and graves are simply the same inflation of the supposed moral indignites, suffered by the Internet class of the most recent thugs and harpies, practicing on the InterNet “schadenfreude” or the German for a pleasure derived from the misfortune of others.
In the limbic sense, humans are tribal and pack oriented. Ashamedly in the human system is the targeted practice of cruelty, when deviations are observed. Scholars agree, that in human development, perhaps 20,000 to 50,000 years, these tribal or pack behaviors are well known.
By pillorying this man, in the IP age, the limbic, cruel, basest of human emotive displays, is seeking the wooden framework on a post, with holes for the head and hands whereby, offenders were locked to be exposed to public scorn.
This is precisely what is occuring on this post, and it is transparent, that the writers are driven by a limbic sense to impose shame on any convenient target, as a form of group pleasure. If not this man, then the adulterer or tax cheater or drunk. While occasionally self-correcting, as to this vile mob behavior, the crowd can take on its own ugliness, devoid of any moral sense and like Pilate, simply condemn, based on mob voices, then free Barabbus a murderer. and on Easter crucify the Christ.
The danger in this piling on, is the momentum of the crowd–no different in recent history, than the Southern rush to judgment of any Negro, with a whiff of staring at a white woman, and the crowd and mob, converges on lynching in a group frenzy as to the judgment.
No different, than the mob piling on in Western Europe in the 1930′s and finding that claimed anti-social existance justified genocide to societies moral offenders such as homosexuals, Gypsies, Jews, the mentally infirm, and old people. This mass hysteria, well repeated in minature here, is nothing new, than moral one-upmanship, cloaked in mob tactics. The writers of these posts, are on the slippery slope to the worst of humankind. Bathed in patriotic cliches, the writers, are not defenders of moral ethics, nor enforcers as they would proclaim, but simply another mob action in the oldest human emotive state, of group cruelty, directed at one, but in its essence leads to the worst, frenzied lynchings, the “science” of eugenics, or forced sterilization, mass murder, genocide and war.
It is true that the all the words written here, are derived from Schadenfreude, as to the cursing, use of disgust terms and calls for summary judgment at the hands of the crowd. The Internet is the Wild West of the expression of the human emotive state, and all the accusers, are simply on the train of hate, as to pillory, lynch or extinguish a life judged in mob hysteria, and siezed with its own momentum; seeks to attack an other as to rank, privelage, title, livelihood or achievement.
As an enduring moral guide, set apart from the human frailities of misguided behavior, Christ teaches us in the Bible, that Jesus faced a mob, just like this Internet crowd baying like animals, to eagerly execute a woman caught in adultery, a moral sin.
In John, 8:7 a simple challenge is issued that ” he who has no sin in their life should step forward and cast the first stone.” The story continues that on introspection and group shame, the mob dissasembled.
I can tell, personally as an educated, well read, moral man, that the written word trail of this indictment as to a venial Sin of greed, is pre-supposed as an attack on all, thus deserving of these harsh words, treatment, expletives and derogation of a mans life. Simply another evil Mob.

Who among you does not have a broken marriage, a binge, an arrest, financial problems or other rancor in your life? I can tell by reading your thoughts that the ones on this blog are a rough, uneducated, ill-concieved lower class, given to impulse without the moral rulers of education, the Church, societal achievement or personal dignity.
Instead, you let the moral relativism of Prynne wash over you like cable TV, in Gene Hackmans character in the “Runaway Jury”, bathed in self serving hatred, social rants and “I dont give a damn.” As to any life disturbed, your emotionally written state, and condemnation of a life, matters not.

It’s also very, very wrong. I’ve not been around here as long as others. I don’t have any particular reputation to uphold here. At best, I offer my attempts at humor with the very rare insight.
I have however seen admissions and apologies, where warranted, when incorrect conclusions have been drawn. This group of people is the first to say, “Hey, I fucked up. I was wrong”, when it’s warranted. Again, when it’s warranted.
Your first mistake is that of not knowing your audience. You’re talking about a group of people who have at the very least volunteered to put their lives on the line for scant gain and next to no advantage. Many of them actually went across the wire and did that very thing. They didn’t do it for fame. They didn’t do it for glory. They did it because it was the right thing to do. Your second mistake is related to the first. You threaten them. Really? You’re threatening to send the legal hounds out to sniff them out of their rabbit holes? These are people who volunteered to put their mortal existence to the hazard if necessary. Your first thought is to threaten them with a civil suit?
These folks are people who went out at 0500 and intentionally faced adversity down with a smile and your best arrow in your quiver is an imaginary subpoena? Good luck with that.

I do remember a documentary not so long ago about two sisters who got a government contractor to ship parts to overseas posts, and were doing just fine until one of the checks they received was a serious overpayment, by several commas and decimal points.
Instead of returning it, they cashed it. It cleared, and they decided to go to the dark side: they started overcharging the government. It worked until they were audited and found to be defrauding the government.
One of them was arrested; the other committed suicide rather than face arrest and trial.
I just love these sordid stories.

Morality is codified in rules of behavior or governance of ones self, to regulate the conduct of individuals towards the greater good of society. These are constructed into Laws, whether Criminal or Civil as to put limits, sanctions and set boundaries and punishment on moral lapses of personal responsibility.

In Florida, the offense of criminal libel still exists. Whereas defamation is generally a civil matter, Florida law recognizes some types of libel as criminal offenses. Knowingly sending libelous information to a journalist, for example, is a crime, as is the malicious spreading of false statements or even rumors about institutions.
836.01 Punishment for libel.
Any person convicted of the publication of a libel shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.
836.05 Threats; extortion.

In this article, Mr. Monkress is inaccurately referred to as “a member of the U.S. Special Forces” and “a former U.S. Navy Seal.” Mr. Monkress honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy but he was not, and has not represented himself to be, a member of the U.S Special Forces or a U.S. Navy Seal. Thus, the article published by BBN contains false statements about Mr. Monkress. Immediately after learning about this article, on December 12, 2012, Phil Monkress contacted Sandy Pfrimmer, Operations Coordinator, Small Business Development Center at BCC, requesting assistance in the removal of this article from BBN’s website. It is our understanding that Ms. Pfrimmer contacted you and requested the article be removed from the BBN website. It is further our understanding that you informed Ms. Pfrimmer that the article could not be removed.
Please consider this letter Mr. Phil Monkress’s formal request to BBN to remove the above–described article from BBN’s website. So, there’s a published article featuring this fellow but he doesn’t read it for two months after its publication? Then, through his legal intermediary, there’s a statement that he he was unaware of the article or its content until May 2013?

So, a couple of possibilities come to mind:
1. During the interview, the reporter asks him about the trident he is wearing, He responds that is what ya get for being a SEAL, but he doesn’t quite claim to have been one, just wears the trident because it purty. Don’t really buy this explanation because even a really green reporter would eventually follow up somewhere during the interview with, “Do, when were you a SEAL?” if only out of polite curiosity if not a good reporter’s natural skepticism.
2. The reporter just made it up because it sounded good. Naw, that didn’t happen.
3. This fool was never interviewed, but coworkers/partners/whatever were. It was they who said that he was a SEAL. Where would they have gotten that idea other than from him?
And hasn’t he also claimed Indian Nation status? Does he plan to submit the pic above as proof of that, claiming that a very small swig of the firewater gave him that drunk as a skunk look??

OWB – I believe I remember seeing Monkress prominently featured as being a former Navy SEAL in a document from Jan 2011 that appeared to have been prepared by APL – a briefing of some sort. And I don’t recall it having any “company proprietary”, “close hold”, or similar caveats or markings, either.
If I’m remembering correctly, it was originally at the link given in comment 120 above. And it did seem to be a marketing briefing, as I recall.
It’s not available at that link now; it seems to have been removed from docstoc. However, it’s awfully hard to get ALL copies of documents out of circulation once they’ve been openly posted to the Internet. I’d guess a copy is still out there somewhere – or maybe several copies. It’s just a question of finding one.
And from what I understand, it’s really hard to claim after the fact that things like marketing briefings (which are specifically intended for external or public consumption) are trade secrets or proprietary/close hold information that is not for public consumption once they’ve been made public.
But I guess I could be wrong about those last two points. I’m pretty sure I remember correctly what I read, though.

Interesting. I’m not positive, but I believe the “cut line” for claiming Native American tribal affiliation is a minimum of 1/32 documented Native American ancestry. I could be wrong.

The disabled Veteran mention made me think of another fellow who claimed to be a “combat veteran.” If a fellow serves in the military and, after ETS, is disabled in a car accident, he can then call himself a disabled Veteran. Similarly, a fellow whose service days are behind him and who, say, as a police office or fireman, receives multiple awards for valor, is a “heavily decorated Veteran.” Like I said in the other thread, semantics and gamesmanship.

2/17 Air Cav: true. But I believe Federal contracting criteria require meeting specific criteria to receive 8a consideration for either. In particular, I believe “Native American Owned Business” 8a preference requires certified tribal membership on the part of 50+% of the firm’s ownership, and that the “Veteran-Owned Business” preference requires the veteran ownership to have a service-connected disability from the VA. I could be in error regarding either/both of those, but I don’t think I am.
If his company has ever gotten 8a/disadvantaged preference in Federal contracting based on his ownership and he doesn’t qualify for whichever was claimed, well . . . .

2/17 Air Cav: I had no issue with what you said above. In fact, I agree. I’d say it’s likely if not a virtual certainty that Monkress has been playing those types of semantic games for years.
I was just pointing out the fact that it’s also possible Monkress might have deliberately or unwittingly stepped “over the line” regarding one or both of those somewhere along the line. If I were in charge of a formal investigation or engaged in legal discovery related to this matter, I’d certainly check into both. It should be easy enough to confirm or refute either through FOIA requests concerning past contract actions by APL.
Even if the statute of limitations has expired, that would seem relevant in terms of establishing a pattern of deceit – and thus whether or not Monkress’ claim that “he never said he was a SEAL” are credible.

Now that Monkress has admitted to not being a SEAL, and there is evidence that his own company-provided literature states that he was on SEAL Team 4, his “lawsuit” is pretty much mucked up vis-a-vis bloggers call him a phony SEAL & he is a phony SEAL.
I imagine once the lawyers realize they are making things worse, they will switch tactics and try to threaten some sort of baseless civil action relating to personal attempts at impeding his ability to gain, maintain, or compete for business contracts.

Even his FOIA says he got out as a DS2, and couldn’t have made that before the March 1991 exam. Now that means, assuming he did in fact make it on that exam cycle, he couldn’t even be eligible to test for DS1 until March 1994 exam, but he was a civilian a year and a half plus before that.

USAF scientist charged in porn case

The chief scientist at the Air Force Technical Applications Center at Patrick Air Force Base — a retired Lieutenant Colonel with a government clearance — has been arrested on child pornography charges.
David O’Brien,71, was arrested Thursday by Brevard County Sheriff’s deputies after they found him in possession of child pornography, according to police records. He faces 10 counts of possession of child pornography and is being held at Brevard County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
The sheriff’s office, working with the FBI on the investigation, said they found 50 files of child pornography on multiple computers in his home on Turtlemound Road in Melbourne. Included were videos and photos depicting children possibly as young as 4, and stories about molesting children.
“He is still employed here, and to work at AFTAC requires a security clearance,” said AFTAC spokeswoman Susan Romano.
O’Brien has worked at AFTAC for more than three decades, and has been chief scientist since 1989. AFTAC detects nuclear weapons around the world, monitoring nuclear treaties.
O’Brien’s biography on AFTAC’s website describes his duties as chief scientist as principal adviser to the commander on scientific and technical matters relating to the center’s mission and to its relationships with national and international organizations.

All of this information, assuming it’s even true, really is available via public records search. The rest of it can be easily made up out of thin air. If this were some real high-speed low-drag black-hat type hacking, you’d have had real names for the people you called out.
At best, you’re packet sniffing and tracing. All of which is easy to side step by going through a single proxy server. Three makes is mostly untraceable.
So until we get some seven angels opening seven seals, or a harlot riding a beast, I remain unimpressed.

1) You gave up your best weapon, that of the “OMFG, how did he find that out?” You admitted it was just a public records search. $39.99 says I can do the same thing too, once I’ve got a bit to work from. Less to free if you know where to look for that information.
2) You say you aren’t concerned about anyone else. I’m thinking that’s bullshit. If you were a real investigator with any real authority, you’d snatch up every living soul you can. You’d want to create dissension in the ranks. You’d want to get people to turn on each other. You’d want to question everyone in case somebody has information you don’t have yet, like the person you claim you’re looking for. Maybe the identities of some of the people you don’t have yet.
3) You say you’re going to bleed checks from their savings. You assume too much. There’s more than a few lawyers on this site. Even if they didn’t want to represent Jonn and company, they may be prevailed on for some legal advice.
4) You don’t know your audience and you don’t know the battlefield. You want good men to quit a worthy cause. Do you think you’re the first? Good luck with that. It’s become the poser formula of resistance. Personally, I call it the Poser Shuffle.

I was alerted to a posting on TAH that I found and did read, but am now no longer able to find same.
Of interest was that the only “fact” in that posting concerning me was my personal bankruptcy of 2003.

Yeah, the dumbassery on this discussion was just the tip of the iceberg last night. Somehow someone hacked my wife’s phone account and started calling her friends with whom she frequently talks and asking for information about me. He also called me and asked if I own guns ostensibly to protect the process server who is coming next week. This person also called someone else who has been feeding us information with the same ploy, but that person filed a police report.
Their research on my background is amateurish, though. Everyone knows that I put TAH HQs on Google Earth because all of these threats I get, I don’t want anyone to say that I’m “hiding” behind a screen. Just about all of his information about me was wrong.
Although I post publicly available information on this blog about various phonies, I always take all due care to avoid posting PII. Last night’s information terrorist posted some of my PII, which is not the same thing that I do here. If they want to post my military record, that’s fine with me, I’m proud of my service, but the rest of that shit was clearly an attempt to intimidate me. But, it has only steeled my resolve to see this through. I have more information on Monkress, some of it is going to bring down the entire company, which is something I’d been trying to avoid because I’ve been out of work for a spell and don’t wish it on anyone, but if this amateur PI wants to play stupid games, he can reap the rewards.
