Phillip Dale Monkress; phony SEAL in FL

| May 9, 2013

The discussion on Monkress has moved here.

Editor’s Note: Monkress needed a bump up to the top. His lawyer is sending threatening letters to our friends and I guess she decided after a phone call with me, that her threats would only be a day’s welcomed distraction. Someone is walking the halls of Congress with Monkress’ DD214 today asking questions. I’ve added some more evidence that Monkress called himself a Navy SEAL, which seems to be their defense these days, that he never said he was a SEAL. So Lori Benton of Ford & Harrison, Attorneys at Law, you know our number.

Someone sent us some information on Phillip Dale Monkress who was outed late last year by POW Network as a phony SEAL, but he’s still rockin’ the lie, so it’s time to call out the pitchfork brigade. Here’s picture of him in his motorcycle club, the US Military Veterans’ Motorcycle Club;

Notice the Trident peaking out from his vest? Well, here are his records;

Aside from the fact that Captain Larry Bailey, a real SEAL, says there’s no record of Monkress in the system, his records don’t mention BUD/S, well, unless a Computer System Maintenance Technician is the same as a SEAL in Navy talk. Here are his assignments;

He’s the CEO and president of “All-Points Logistics” in Titusville, FL, and according to the screenshots at POW Network, he works with US government contracts and claims he’s a Native-American. I wonder if that is even true, as well, since clearly, he wasn’t a SEAL. Someone at the DVA OIG ought to check on his claims of being a 100% disabled veteran, too.

ADDED: It seems the lawyers are trying to make the point that Monkress never called himself a SEAL, but here’s a page from the Brevard Business News which reprints a slide presentation in their publication;

Monkress APL ad
And an alert reader found a Florida Today article behind a pay wall. Scroll down and you’ll see where the article calls Monkress a Navy SEAL. Where’d the reporter get that idea?

Florida Today Monkress article
Here’s an ad that BBN ran in their publication about a business conference. But Monkress never claimed to be a SEAL, right?

These guys “Phony MC Vets” have taken over our local Veterans Day/Memorial Day ceremonies. Most are drunk and high crying about all of the “lost brothers”. One was babbling about killing gooks as a door gunner in Nam. Judging by his age, he must have been about 12 when he was doing his door gunner thing. I asked him what unit he served in, dates of service. It was a Eddie Murphy moment form the movie Trading Places.

    Who’s that? Who’s there?

We’ve had complaints about con men

pretending to be blind and crippled.

    I ain’t seen nothing since

I stepped on that landmine in Vietnam.

    It was very painful.

You were in ‘Nam? So were we. Where?

    I was in…Sang Bang.
    Dang Gong…

I was all over the place, a lot of places.

    What unit?

I was with the Green Berets,

    Special Unit Battalions…

    Commando Airborne Tactics…

    Specialist Tactics Unit Battalion.

Yeah, it was real hush hush.

    I was Agent Orange,

Special Agent Orange, that was me.

  5. beyond the fencepost says:

By now, you have figured out Monkress is a liar. Ok, here is some clarity for you from someone (me) who worked with Monkress, drank a lot of beer with him, and heard his tall tales of covert ops with the SEALS in the jungles of Columbia and Africa. I had no reason to disbelieve him before last week when I was told he had to write letters of apology for his lies about being a SEAL. So I did a Google search and found this blog.
    1. Monkress told me he was a Navy DS2 and claimed he had to serve 2 years at sea as a DS before being allowed by the Navy to join the SEALS.
    2. He was born in the Tulsa, Okla area in Indian Country. Around the 2008 timeframe, he told me his brother applied for and received membership with the Cherokee Nation based on a distant relative having been a member of the “tribe.” Membership is allowed if it can be proven that a relative’s name is on the Dawes Role, a census of all Native Americans relocated to Oklahoma. If Monkress has not applied for membership with the Cherokee Nation and continues to claim APL is a Native American-owned company, he is a fraud.
    3. APL lost its 8(a) status when Chickasaw Nation Industries acquired it in 2006. Sam McGee was the majority owner, Monkress had a small share, someone else had a little. CNI returned APL to Monkress in April 2009.
    4. Monkress told me he has been married 3 times. He told another confidant of mine he has been married 5 times. I’m not sure he can keep his lies straight. […] Whether the number of wives is 3 or 5, it doesn’t matter. He has problems with an inflated ego, honesty, and with relationships.
    5. He has been busted on DUI charges several times and got off each time. I believe he “failed” each time to notify his company facility security officer and the Defense Security Service because he still has his clearance.
That’s enough for now. This guy gives me a headache.

  6. Icuthere says:

Yes that pesky clearance is a minor over site I’m sure.
I am a FIRM believer in what goes around comes around.
He is going to literally fuck his company out of existence before the Feds finish their investigation. […] All the while married for the 6th or 7th time. He had 2 annulments no one has mentioned. Plus I think the DSS should probe into his REAL military record, not the one his would be wife(#2/3)retyped for him. She was in the Navy working in the discharge station. I dont think time spent in the PSYCHE WARD dodging wartime assignments would put you high on the list for anything but a GET THE FUCK OUT, which he did, paid out, medically after 5 years & some change of a 4 year enlistment???? None of it adds up!

  7. Hondo says:

beyond the fencepost, icuthere: if you’ve got true concerns and evidence to back them, you might want to contact the Defense Security Service. They’re the ones who manage the DoD’s Industrial Security Program. If a contract requires clearances, they’re involved.

DSS’s Melbourne Office (under their Southern Region) handles FL east of the panhandle. It can be reached at 321-255-1246.

The DSS OIG can be reached at 855-865-1508.

The misrepresentation of Native American status and the unreported DUIs are indeed items DSS should be interested in hearing about.

  8. Icuthere says:

I’ve already contacted them & several agency’s in DC. And yes there is always evidence of the truth!

  11. onemorething says:

The story goes on. This kook is a congenital liar. Check this out: at

Mr. Dumbass claims he was in the Navy from 1984 to 1992 (Navy says 1987-1992) and he was a “Data Communications/Network Information Specialist of a highly specialized field-deployed Combat Support Team providing weaponeering solutions and downwind hazard prediction for chemical/biological weapons.” His military record (see above FOIA) provides no indication he had such training unless he was monitoring farts in the hospital at Bethesda.

He claims he has been the CEO of APL from 1999 to present. Sam Magee was the majority share holder and APL’s Pres & CEO until Chickasaw Nation Industries (CNI) acquired the company in 2006. My contacts at CNI say Mr. Dumbass was the COO for only a few years before that acquisition. He was LLC manager under CNI until he was fired in April 2008. He got APL back in April 2009.

What a jerk-wad liar. He has planted so many lies he cannot keep them straight.

  12. Green Thumb says:

    “downwind hazard prediction”

Loosely translated : “That dude is going to fart!”

    What a fucking loser.

  13. Green Thumb says:

I mean, look at that face.

You cannot tell me that this clown has not been nose to nose with real shit.

  14. oohlalla says:

has there been any remorse from him at all? or just denial?

  15. A Proud Infidel says:

@164, I heartily doubt that, most of the time, posers only care about what they can get RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, and they don’t even think about consequences.

  16. Green Thumb says:

Did anyone check and see if this meatgazer actually graduated from college?

  17. onemorething says:

@166, I doubt he actually graduated. He claims he finished his 4-year undergraduate program in 2 years. Yeah, right! The guys I know who have either worked with him or drank with him say that claim matches his ego pretty well. You can be sure he did not hit the books while in the shrink ward at Bethesda. What he is good at is bragging, creative story-telling (he has Mark Twain beat), […], the girls at Hooters, or anything else with a skirt.

  18. NHSparky says:

Memo to Mr. Monkress’ lawyer (lawer?).

Come at me, bro. I’ll call bullshit on the guy and I have the background to PROVE what he’s claiming as far as his Navy record is complete bullshit.

You game? Or are you just looking to milk the phony sumbitch for $250/hour?

  19. Green Thumb says:

This dude is a professional ass-sniffer.

  20. MCPO NYC USN (Ret.) says:

@ NH … 250 an hour … probably more like 75 an hour working from home using a Tandy computer with Word Perfect 1.0, sitting in a folding chair, naked from the knees up … if you know what I mean!

  21. Green Thumb says:

The scars (emotional and physical) from all of those close two-hole scratch and sniff inspections…..

    Just look at the face….

Pain and suffering no man will ever know…

  22. Icuthere says:

@168 it gets uncomfortable when they get found out!
    What a disgusting man

  23. Icuthere says:

His company APL was just awarded a pretty big contract out at Johnson Space Center….
Guess the government doesn’t care if you are a liar & using stolen valor!
It was a 14-16 million dollar contract. Guess crime does pay.

  24. Bullshit proof says:

The truth CAN NOT NOR EVER will be slander, libel or defamation . PERIOD
And then there is that GORGEOUS FIRST AMENDMENT right to Free Speech. He just looks like an overgrown ass hole bully who ran to Mommy when the heat turned on.

His business & life should come tumbling down in t-minus ANYTIME.
Don’t write checks your character , integrity & morality can’t cash, shiteater!

  25. Fjardeson says:

  26. A Proud Infidel says:

  27. Bullshit proof says:

    Here is another recent award….

” Merritt Island, FL, March 25, 2013 –(– All Points LLC (APL) announced today that the company has been awarded the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Information Technology (IT) Schedule 70 contract. The answer is: HE CAN’T.

So he lied on his clearance or it needs to be updated!

  40. Green Thumb says:

This fool is about as rough and tough as a roll of Charmin.

    Weak sauce this man is.

A lyimng, sack of shit loser taking a potential buisness opportunity away from a real, deserving Veteran.

    Extra loser.

  41. Omni says:

Well if HE will lie about HIS credentials, how can any of his government clients be certain that the people his company is providing are properly credentialed? This is a concern I have for our NATIONAL SECURITY!

  42. Omni says:

It’s not just about him being a drunken shitbag

  43. Hey now says:

OMNI! That is the best point yet.

  44. moccs says:

I have a really hard time stomaching what I am reading about this dirtbag. I am in the same line of work and it really pissing me off that he is profiting from lies! I am a legit Vet and Native American and this sociopath just makes up sh*t to win large Federal contracts! I think I will contact the BIA or “his” tribe and see if there is any record of this fool!He needs to be taken down!

  45. TinyTim66 says:

It’s funny he would fear this website. This scum should check within his own trusted friends or employees. He may have a mole in his world.

  46. More from the Left Field says:

About 6-8 years ago, Sam Magee, the owner of APL before selling the company to Chickasaw Nation Industries, got busted for DUI. As a result, APL lost its facility clearance and all contracts that required clearances including contracts with NSA and DoD.

Question: given that Mr. Dirtbag Monkress has been busted for DUI, why does APL have a facility clearance and contracts that require cleared personnel? Inquiring minds want to know why the double standard exists. Is NASA, DoD, and DHS totally stupid?

  47. AirborneMP says:

As a Gov worker and a clearance holder……it appears to me his clearance has fallen through the cracks (we have many of those in the gov’t). As soon as all this breaks wind (reference to his donwrange work he did 🙂 ) I am sure someone will request his clearance update and then the proverbial shit hits the fan.

P.S Long Time reader/Stalker/Lurker…….First time Poster. I frackin luv Merica and TAH!!!!

  48. NHSparky says:

Is NASA, DoD, and DHS totally stupid?

I’m not a lawyer (or lawer) but even I know the first thing they teach you in law school is, “Don’t ask questions you don’t want the answers to.”

In more layman’s terms, “You like sausage? Don’t ask how it’s made.”
