This still steams me

The other day I wrote about the Obama Administration’s plan to raid our (retired military veterans’) Tricare funds to pay for shit that they can’t plan to pay for from the billions of dollars in taxes. So they’re going to take our healthcare money to pay for sending an aircraft carrier to the middle east, as well as off-set some of their fuel costs. Well, you know they wouldn’t have to offset fuel costs if we had a common sense energy policy in this country – and that’s not the fault of veteran retirees, but that’s who is supposed to pay for it.

Remember during the 2000 election George W. Bush told us that the reason that we can’t leave money in Washington because government will spend it like it’s theirs. In this case, they plan on spending the $700 million surplus from our Tricare premiums…and they STILL want to jack up our premiums. Now, a rational comptroller would set that surplus aside so we don’t have to pay more in the future, but apparently no one in Washington cares about our money.

While this Administration is working to lower everyone else’s health care costs, they’re increasing the costs to veterans, because you know, we haven’t given enough already. It’s more important that government be able to fund abortions and substance dependency rather than pay it’s fair share of their debt to us…you know, like they promised.

So you need to get on the horn to your congress person – here’s a link with their contact information. Oh, yeah, an email won’t do anything – too easy for their respective staffs to ignore and delete. You have to write letters and telephone the office with your outrage. Get on the stick and complain. And don’t forget to register your outrage with your local VSO – get those people off their asses, too.

I’d say something about drunken sailors, but having been one, I’d be insulted if I was accused of spending money like government (ANY level of government–city, state, federal.)

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… A veteran supporting Obama is like a chicken supporting Colonel Sanders.

(Well, at least col. Sanders knows how to keep a secret)

A surplus in government is like an excess of crack to an addict…not long for the world…

There are no “lockboxes” in government funding regardless of what idiots like Al Gore state….thus the same debacle now taking over Tricare has already played out on a larger scale with social security…money paid in and a promise to receive a payout…good luck with socsec in another 20 years…it should be bankrupt in 10 and funded with debt until the weight of it causes a collapse or restructuring…

Politicians and ex-spouses are a lot a like, they both promise all kinds of sh1t that they have no idea how they will deliver later….

Jonn, Jonn, Jonn. Of course comrade obama will lower health care costs for those who’s livelihood is provided by big government! They’ll vote for him to keep their golden goose alive! Why get up and go earn a living every day when Uncle Sugar will give you money, provide your housing, feed your family and take care of your health care? I mean if you do lawn maintenance and your wife cleans hotel rooms and you make a combined $16/hr but have six kids, do you want someone who’s going to make you responsible for providing for your own family in office?

Honorably retired veterans or veterans in general, for that matter, more than likely won’t. I didn’t before and I won’t again. Of course I’m retarded enough to have thought I was supposed to work my way through school to better provide for my children. I was even brain dead enough to think if I did that, my kids would be able to better provide for my grandkids!?

From the S&S story: “In fiscal 2011, DOD had $500 million in excess Tricare funds reprogrammed to other accounts.”

Yeah, “steamed” is too nice a word.

(But: J.P. @2 above wins the innernets for the week.)
