CNN blames US troops for green-on-blue attacks

Despite what Leon Panetta said on Wednesday, CNN wants to continue blaming US troops for those dozens of green-on-blue attacks this year, so they went trolling for an opinion, not given by a US leader to support their hateful supposition;
NATO says the majority of attacks by Afghan security forces against coalition troops are driven primarily by personal grievances rather than an infiltration by insurgents.
“Some 10% we know are related to the insurgency,” Brig. Gen. Gunter Katz, a spokesman for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force, said late Friday.
Yes, I know, as recently as April, US leaders were using that excuse, too, but for some reason, Panetta’s statement on Wednesday which finally admitted that it might be a Taliban strategy, well, that didn’t settle it for CNN.
SGT Duke, who sent us the link to the CNN article says;
CNN is full of it. The attacks by Afghan troops on our soldiers are NOT based on personal grievances. Look on youtube… look at the Taliban celebrating when one of their buddies return from carrying out a mission to infiltrate the Afghan troops and kill NATO soldiers. These attacks are absolutely calculated and should be considered terrorist/enemy operations. It is a damn shame that people can’t report the truth for fear of losing relations with a country that American taxpayers pump money into for no reason. We are basically paying them to kill us at this point.

I can only handle about 10 min a day of the Creative News Network.
It seems the only one left with any type of impartiality is the BBC; and they are sliding.

We had a near green on blue incident when I was there. I suppose you could say it was a personal grievance by and ANA soldier. He was high on hash and didn’t like the idea of an American FET member searching Afghan Females. So he drew down on our guys. His own people disarmed him before we had to shoot him.

This is just about the dumbest thing I’ve seen come out of CNN, but with the state of our media, I’m sadly unsurprised.

I guess “hating Americans” can be considered a personal grievance

First, this is why CNN is dropping behind even MSNBC in ratings.
Second, it seems “Communist News Network” isn’t a good enough title, they’re getting close to the point that they might as well change their name to Al Jazeera.
I was at Connolly when two Soldiers there were shot back in February. As far as we saw, it was the first highly publicized green on blue. “They” blamed it on the Quran burning issue as a reason. And if you believe that, I have an Afghan Seaport to sell you. And that’s all I have to say about that.

So who is to blame for CNNs crappy ratings? uh oh, thats right its Bush’s fault – I guess Hope and Chains doesn’t translate to eyeballs on your Crappy Nonsensical Network.

I suggest just leaving that shithole quick…then do a good old fashion carpet bombing….until there’s not afuckingthing left.

Should have flattened and paved over the whole place when we had the chance back in December 2001.
We have been over there so long now that the Taliban has been able to adapt their TTP and exploit our cultural weaknesses. We better realize pretty soon that we will not be pacifying that bass-ackwards, goat-fucking, homos-living-in-denial backwater EVAR.

Just saw this: http://news.yahoo.com/panetta-prods-karzai-afghan-insider-killings-233910684.html
The photo says it all.
And Panetta said that he “called” Karzai to “discuss” the increasing number of murders of American service members (I REFUSE to call them “green on blue” attacks…it’s MURDER).
Um, that’s all he did, was “discuss” them?

Personally, I think it’s a mix of both taliban infiltrators and personal grudges. On another note, I was looking at the Curiosity photos from Mars, and I thought “Gee, this craphole where I’m at in S Afghan looks remarkably similar.” Carpet bombing wouldn’t do any good – place already looks like it has been nuked.

CNN will rot your brain.

Personal grievances over what? When we told them they couldn’t wash their feet in the sink, flag the firing line at the range, watch people in the shower, or reenact the seagull scene from Finding Nemo every time a woman (or pretty man for that matter) walks by?

Don’t forget standing on the seat in the port-a-shitter.

@Marin_7002 Now you’ve got me absolutely enraged. Even if all of them were personal grievance based it still doesn’t give you the right to go on a shooting rampage.
@thebronze All I can say is I’m glad I ignored the call for volunteers to help teach ANP/ANA recruits how to shoot. Nothing happened, but I’m glad I didn’t risk it. One time I volunteered to escort some to Geronimo with one of my Marines since we both wanted flying time. We decided not to go again because of the vibe we got from the Marines in charge. Their attempts to cajole us to go on another seemed a little too overeager.
When I was at Leatherneck I looked over the route I would use to get to my shop, made a plan should I get attacked, and scoped out the closest populated areas I could do the 100 yard dash to. And it most definitely wasn’t prompted by any concern about other Marines.

CNN has been pimping out the military for ratings and sensationalism for years. This is nothing new, it is their SOP.

The Congressional version of cover your ass and not my fault.

With Eid coming, there has been a lot of tension in the air here on my FOB.
I have a couple of my fellow soldiers that I work with who have to go to the MCT every day, and frankly, I am coming to the realization more and more every day that Neutron bombs would be the best thing for this steaming cesspool of hate.

Jon, stay safe! I’m amazed that one of the Generals had the sense to now require magazines be inserted on the FOBs. Are they also mandating wearing the flak and kevlar at all times?

Frickin Crescent News Network!

[...] I think that disputes the stupid case that ISAF and CNN have tried to make recently where they tried to imply that most of the Green on Blue attacks are the fault of our troops and not by the enemy inserting themselves into the Afghan Security Forces. Read more about that here, thisainthell.us/blog/?p=31613. [...]
