Don Shipley confronts Ike Densmore, phony SEAL
September 15th, 2012
It looks like our own Not So Old Marine called this Ike Densmore guy out first on our discussion board last year when Densmore was trying to edit his name into a list of SEALs on Wikipedia. But, our buddy, Don Shipley sends this video of him confronting Densmore over the phone;
Here’s his Facebook page and his very own page at POW Network’s Fake Warriors.

September 15th, 2012 at 8:26 am
That was special. Like a TAH comment section, but without all the sockpuppets and concrn trolls.
September 15th, 2012 at 8:47 am
Wow, in todays “Internet” age, how do posers like this keep thinking they can say this stuff and not get caught?!?
September 15th, 2012 at 8:58 am
Preliminary research indicates is that the guy is 48 and is in the SF bay area. If anyone can assist with full name/DOB/SSN, advise and I’ll arrange contact, then run a FOIA to see what his actual military records say.
Interestingly enough, his LinkedIn resume also indicates he has a BA in Business from the University of Kansas (1991), but worked for McDonnell-Douglas Aerospace as a “Sales Manager/Engineer” for a few years. I rather doubt McDonnell-Douglas Aerospace hires guys with a BA in Business to work as engineers.

I saved a copy in case this one disappears or ages off Google’s cache.
September 15th, 2012 at 9:36 am
That was fucking epic…. Excellent job Don!!!
September 15th, 2012 at 9:40 am
This video and a cup of coffee started my day. My wife was listening from her desk and giggling, too. Awesome.
September 15th, 2012 at 10:05 am
Ah … Don is friggin’ squared away!
You do not want to be in his cross hairs!
September 15th, 2012 at 10:41 am
That was a fucking work of art. I’m searching for superlatives and all I’ve got is “bonerific!”
September 15th, 2012 at 10:42 am
Wow. It is almost cruel….almost.
Wow. Don rocks. Remind me never, ever, to piss him off.
September 15th, 2012 at 10:47 am
That was special. And, out of curiosity, who are those guys around Mr. Shipley? Please tell me those are actual SEALS… perhaps Team One.
September 15th, 2012 at 10:54 am
I loved how the shithead threatened to sue for “slander”. Seems he forgot a few things: (1) written or broadcast defamation is libel, not slander; (2) truth is generally an absolute defense for either libel or slander, and (3) in civil cases, there’s this little thing called “discovery” – which is done under oath.
I kinda hope Densmore is stupid enough to follow through with his threat.
September 15th, 2012 at 11:17 am
Just awesome. That asshat sounded like Obama during that conversation, uh,uh, uh, uh.
September 15th, 2012 at 11:19 am
And I thought, “Gone With the Wind” was good…..wow!
September 15th, 2012 at 11:20 am
His resume actually list he received six navy accommodations? Are those like free stays at the Navy Lodge?
September 15th, 2012 at 11:43 am
Cool stuff.
September 15th, 2012 at 12:08 pm
damn I need some “accomodations”
September 15th, 2012 at 12:57 pm
Gee, he ‘went thru seal school’ and couldn’t remember his class instructor’s name?
Oh, please post more stuff like this. Please. It’s a breath of fresh air on days like these.
September 15th, 2012 at 1:08 pm
“How about Them Apples”. Don Shipley dishes up another DB Pie.
September 15th, 2012 at 1:16 pm
“You want to try that with me again?”
Oh, it’s so good for that dipshit that Don can’t reach through a phone.
September 15th, 2012 at 2:04 pm
Hey Hondo, I thought libel was for the written word and slander was for the spoken word which could also apply to a media broadcast. Not looking to go on and on about this but I know you have a legal background. Email me and we can debate that most. Not here. Let people enjoy the video. I watched it again.
September 15th, 2012 at 2:33 pm
@Hondo I think he meant Sales Manager/Sales Engineer. Sales Engineers, in my experience, have a little technical knowledge but are mostly just sales DBs.
Either way, watching Don call this DB out was awesome.
September 15th, 2012 at 3:04 pm
Andy Kravetz: no legal background per se, but I have some knowledge in the field. I actually had to look that one up. Source I used said that broadcast or other publication converts to libel – and the context was when Shipley told Ike the Dipstick he was going to publish his false claims on the Internet to both his site and POWNetwork/Fake Warrior. Source could be wrong, though, but it really doesn’t matter all that much. Dipstick files a suit, he’d best be able to prove he was once a SEAL – or he’s got no basis for a suit. I really don’t think he can prove he was ever a SEAL.
– break –
ChairborneSmurf: could be. If so, his resume is somewhat misleading. Given this guy’s demonstrated propensity for embellishment regarding his military record, it wouldn’t surprise me to find out he’s misrepresenting his duties/job titles at McDonnell-Douglas too.
September 15th, 2012 at 3:09 pm
Andy: Libel is defamatory remarks in print. Slander is defamatory verbal remarks.
September 15th, 2012 at 4:34 pm
I left the turd a message, and referenced this post. Asked him to come on over and chat with us.
Then send one of his friends a message with this link, and asked him to tell Ike the dumsmore that I had contacted him.
What a flake.
Don did him up well, tied the bow and sent him on his way. Now he will probably pull his facebook page down. Gotta get back to it so I can contact some more of his friends and send them this way.
September 15th, 2012 at 5:07 pm
Mr. Lilyea, you need to create a “Poser Buster” Hall of Fame!!! This is the most classic thing I’ve ever seen. If I were this a$$hat, I’d move to North Pole and die of exposure.
September 15th, 2012 at 5:19 pm
I dropped the same message on 14 of his friends, only changing their first name.
Person, I noticed that you are on Ike Densmore’s friends list here on Facebook. Has he ever told you that he was a decorated Navy SEAL? He was not, and is just one more of the phony dopes that can’t make their own way without riding the fame that our nation’s heroes have made. Check him out at: http://thisainthell.us/blog/?p=32015
And Person, if you have the chance, let Ike know that I sent you this message.
September 15th, 2012 at 5:33 pm
“Flagwaver Says:
September 15th, 2012 at 10:47 am
That was special. And, out of curiosity, who are those guys around Mr. Shipley? Please tell me those are actual SEALS… perhaps Team One.”
Not Likely, Don runs a business now “Extreme SEAL Experience” where he runs a small course to give people a taste of SEAL training. He initially meant for it to be for young guys that wanted to eventually become SEALS, but he expanded it so he gets different types. The guys in the photo are probably his customers/students.
September 15th, 2012 at 5:34 pm
Too funny! The good Mr. Shipley does have that corporate tone of voice down to a tee. That was a telephonic baited ambush. And it worked like a charm.
September 15th, 2012 at 6:59 pm
Hondo, all! Prepare to copy this *publicly available* info. Ike C. Densmore; 48 YO; Relatives: Last known addresses; Menlo Park, CA

indicated/listed/shown is what I meant to type.
September 15th, 2012 at 7:10 pm
Thanks Mike.
September 15th, 2012 at 7:35 pm
Knucklehead wants to meet with Shipley? Perhaps he should cover himself in gold wrapping paper, stick one red bow on his head and another up his butt and FedEx himself to Shipley as an early Christmas present. As Buggs says, “What a ma-roon!”
September 15th, 2012 at 8:52 pm
Man, my post had a ton of typos.
September 15th, 2012 at 9:31 pm
Did Don do a search for “Densmore” or “Demsmore?”
The top of the page says Densmore however several times in his write up he says Demsmore. I assume he checked for both names.
September 15th, 2012 at 9:34 pm
Are you sure it isn’t Dinsdale?
September 15th, 2012 at 9:47 pm
MSG Seal. bwahhahahahahha. Don is classic.
September 15th, 2012 at 10:24 pm
Hey! I figured it out! He’s a MSG Seal because he was in the Naval Army.
September 15th, 2012 at 10:55 pm
Douche Bagsmore, er, I mean Ike Densmore probably never served a day, and my guess is that if he did he probably got discharged during Army IET (just a hunch based on the Master Sergeant thing, and how most civilians don’t even realize that the Marine Corps and Air Force have them too). You guys say on here quite frequently that people should just stand on their record. If that record was sullied somehow, then just don’t mention that period of your life. Instead of telling folks these fantasy stories, these knuckleheads could either a. tell the truth or b. not talk about it. If you want to improve a resume, then f’ing do something worth putting on there.

Unless you email me.
September 16th, 2012 at 6:43 am
btw: I’ll pay $50 for a ticket and drive over to Langley to watch this turd meet Don. Talk about epic..
September 16th, 2012 at 1:03 pm
@37. He graduated first in his class from Army Submariner School and was youngest squadron leader (Warthogs) for the Merchant Marines.
September 16th, 2012 at 9:01 pm
Another two-hole hero.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:58 pm
Don
I am sorry for any issues I may have caused, it has been interesting. I am battling with pancratic cancer stage 4 my memory isnt even as close to being right. Moving forward there will not be any issuses with me. I done my best to keep mind in order but I am done. You are a true hero for what do. all my best wishes to you.
September 20th, 2012 at 1:31 am
May? Exactly what part of anything that you did have a “May” in it? Half hearted apologies and most of that is getting caught.
You got caught in many lies and you expect us to now believe you have cancer?
September 20th, 2012 at 2:48 am
“Interesting?” Fucker, you haven’t even got a clue as to the meaning of the word. I’d suggest you find Don Shipley’s number, and beg for forgiveness of your sins, most ricky-tick.
September 20th, 2012 at 6:28 am
Comment 43 could actually be him – IP resolves to the SF bay area, within a few miles of where he’s supposedly living.
Not sure I’m buying the “stage 4 pancreatic cancer” story, though. He didn’t sound ill whatsoever during his conversation with Shipley – and pancreatic cancer hits pretty hard in later stages. I’d guess he’s trying for sympathy to deflect attention from his lies and using Steve Jobs’ story as a model.
But I guess I could be wrong.
September 20th, 2012 at 8:42 am
Epic. First time pancreatic cancer defense?
September 20th, 2012 at 9:03 am
Or setting the stage for sock puppets to tell us how mean and heartless we are for picking on a guy with cancer.
Not that a phony lying fucker would ever think of something like that…/sarc
September 20th, 2012 at 5:19 pm
He is most assuredly lying about his illness, just as he did when he worked for us. To Don Shipley and other “real” Seals: This man has a real illness that I believe is completely out of his control. Take pride in knowing that for every phony Seal out there, there are millions of Americans like me, who are appreciative for everything you guys stand for, the unassuming way that you conduct your business, and for the protection of every American that you provide. You are true hero’s and the US owes you a great debt of gratitude. May God bless you and all of the Navy Seals who have served or contine to serve our great Nation.
September 20th, 2012 at 5:36 pm

1 Silver Star.
1 Bronze Star
3 Purple hearts
2 Presidential Unit Citation

A salesman that lies… what are the odds?
September 20th, 2012 at 7:33 pm
Mustang–at least he corrected the “Accomodation” fuckup.
Problem with exposing some of these phony fuckers is all they do is learn from their mistakes and get a bit slicker. Not all of them do, but some.
2 PUC’s? Huh…guess that guy was on the USS Parche as well. NO Navy unit aside from them has received more than one (PARCHE got NINE, count ‘em, NINE PUC’s from 1979-2004.)
September 22nd, 2012 at 4:01 pm
“That was special. And, out of curiosity, who are those guys around Mr. Shipley? Please tell me those are actual SEALS… perhaps Team One.”
The guys standing around Don are all students at his course (I’ve been there myself, and it’s VERY well done.)
However, the man behind him to the right is a real SEAL (who recently just retired from the Teams,) and he’s Don’s lead instructor.
September 25th, 2012 at 1:28 pm
Ike-
You know me. You worked for me 3 years ago. You are a patholgical liar and need help. Get it! Having said that, in no way is your sick mind an excuse for your lies and despicable behavior. You lied to me about your supposed SEAL experience, your supposed education, your supposed medals, your supposed position at Stanford as Professor of Physics, your supposed involvement with “Project Thor”, your supposed work with the CIA, and the list goes on. Pathetic!
I will be any amount of money you like, give you 100 to 1 odds, and bet that you do not have cancer. This particular lie makes me sick. I took care of my father while he battled stage 4 cancer over the past 3 years, lived with me and my family for his last four months, and died having gone thorugh 3 major surgies, countless chemo sessions, and had his cancer spread from his lungs to his adreinal gland, and finally to his brain. By the way, my father actually served in both the US Army and Marines. He was offered a military funeral but denied it because he did not consider himself worthy. He did not want the same treatment as his friends and borther had, all of whom were KIA or seriously wounded in WW2 and in Korea.
You cannot fix this by continuing the lies. You make me sick.
September 26th, 2012 at 10:45 am
I’m not nor ever was a Seal, but as an Air Force vet and current Federal Officer, I’m glad to see justice. Possible other flaws in case somebody out there still wants to hire this guy. This con-artist claims to have worked at McDonnell-Douglas from 1991-1998 and knows the F-4, F-16, F-18 and Delta III. The F-16 was made by General Dynamics, not McDonnell-Douglas. Also the Delta III was a Boeing design and the first launch was in 1998. If he worked at MD, how did he know about the Delta III during the developing stages? Rival aerospace companies typically don’t get along. The F-4 was made by MD but stopped production in 1991. The F-18 was made by MD. Boeing bought MD in August 1997, and did keep the MD name for a short time afterwards.

Anyone out there have a line on a full name and DOB for this tool? I’ll be happy to file a FOIA, but “Ike Densmore” probably isn’t enough info for a hit.
October 6th, 2012 at 8:53 pm
FOIA away to NPRC on one “Ike C. Densmore” with suspected service US Navy, approximate age 48, service commencing during or after 1981. Not terribly optimistic I’ll get a “hit”, but you never know until you try . . . .
October 11th, 2012 at 12:15 pm
Don Shipley is the absolute epitome of true, faithful and loyal service.
October 16th, 2012 at 6:51 am
One of those on Ike Dumbsmore’s FB friends list replied to my alert to him with:
“Hello Frankie, I have already unfriended the guy… Turns out, he was lying about a whole lot of other things, probably to a whole bunch of people. When I met him originally he told me that he was a Physics professor at Stanford University (lie) and that he had invented a machine that automatically pulls gold out of rivers…. smile The guy is completely off his rocker.”

Thanks Don, keep exposing these clowns. I was never a SEAL, but am thankful for those who are and were, and cannot believe the audacity of some people to take claim of a title they have not earned. Way to go guys, now he is dead. Too far.
January 23rd, 2013 at 1:24 am
#78 you really think that this site is the reason a monumental fraud like Densmore is dead? I’d love to hear the logic train there.
January 23rd, 2013 at 1:38 am
Can not believe anyone would try to lay his death on the fact that Don Shipley revealed this guy as a fake. Thank God Don does what he does. Can you imagine how many fakes would be out there stealing from the accomplishments of a chosen few???
January 23rd, 2013 at 2:36 am
The comments on the article linked in #77 are utterly retarded. There’s more than one implicating Shipley had something to do with his death, hell the article even suggests it. Guess that’s the going rate these days without waiting for things like an INVESTIGATION, autopsy, facts and/or FORENSIC EVIDENCE. Morons.
January 23rd, 2013 at 5:46 am
Wow, that other site is full of huge morons.
January 23rd, 2013 at 6:02 am
RandomNCO, Redacted1775: that site appears to be in Humbolt Co, CA. Did you really expect sanity?
January 23rd, 2013 at 8:12 am
I read the linked blog entry and it’s a study in stupid. The blogger serves up suggestion after suggestion, implication after implication, that Densmore’s death is attributable to the enlightening examination and broadcast of his false claims. And, predictably, some of the blog’s commenters go exactly there. After what was clearly years and years of lying about many things, not just the military claims, was Densmore so overcome by shame that he decided to swan dive from a cliff? Did he have an alcohol or drug problem? Was he facing criminal charges? Was he smothering in debt? How about his relationships? Did he lose a loved one through death or break-up? Was there a history of suicide in his family? The list goes on and on and is limited only by one’s ability to consider the common suicide prompts. But the blogger wonders about none of these things and settles only on a solitary explanation. But that isn’t his only grievous error. If Densmore did commit suicide (and that is not at all certain, at least as yet), why is the responsibility for that act not placed at his feet but, instead, placed on the heads of others? Densmore was a 47 or 48-year-old man who may have made the rational but misguided and unfortunate choice to end his own life rather than confront his shortcomings and defects. That is no one’s fault but his. And to suggest otherwise is pure folly and wholly irresponsible.
January 23rd, 2013 at 8:34 am
Hondo, good point.
January 23rd, 2013 at 8:59 am
I read HumBum’s link.
I am teh dumber for it. Oh, the stoopid. It burns.
And NO, nobody here, nor Senior Chief Shipley, is responsible for this man’s death. The only one responsible is the late Ike Densmore. While I am saddened that he felt this was the only option available to him, by no means did anyone suggest, or even think that this man should die as a result of his claims (SEAL or otherwise.)
This is the ultimate example of “play stupid games, win stupid prizes.”
January 23rd, 2013 at 9:56 am
The blog author at #77 link; http://lostcoastoutpost.com/2013/jan/22/centerville-beach-body-identified-man-outed-preten/ suggests that my telling his Facebook friends about what Densmore was not may be a part of his undoing? I expose and help to expose, I do not pretend to care about how these phony dopes treat themselves.

@88. Frank: When the police arrive at a fugitive’s house to arrest him and he offs himself, it’s the fault of the police. If they didn’t try to arrest him, he wouldn’t have killed himself. Shame on the police. And when another fellow, arrested and convicted of some crime, hangs himself in a jail or prison, it’s the fault of the police, prosecutor, jury or judge, and jailor. Shame on all of them. At least that’s the way that idiot blogger and some of his commenters would view these things–if they were consistent.
January 23rd, 2013 at 10:20 am

Densmore “was found on the beach between the cliffs and the water line”.
That does not necessarily mean that he killed himself. It may mean that he was mugged and killed by someone else. It may also mean that he was on the clifftop and slipped and fell. Or he may have been pushed. And frankly, if you’re going to off yourself, falling off a cliff is a rather painful way to go, and does not necessarily mean you will succeed at self-murder.

Ah, kiss my royal Irish arse.
I think it originally came from James Joyce’s “Ulysses”.
It is also attributed to Firefighter Mike Moran.

Toxicology and pathology will likely reveal what happened to Mr. Densmore. Poor life choices often end poorly for those involved in making and living them.
It baffles me that so many men live such empty lives they feel the need to generate such lies, not everyone can be a SEAL any more than not everyone can be a world class athlete. There are reasons these things are limited to a select few. People who do the right thing every day without lying, who pay their taxes, who raise good kids, who work in an honest occupation no matter how trivial it might seem are the folks who make the world go around and who built this nation.
Steel workers, miners, manufacturing line employees made America powerful, not the SEALs, not world class athletes, not any celebrities. There is no shame in being an honest man or woman earning an honest living, too bad our society has lost its understanding of that simple fact. Mr. Densmore could have invested a few hours a week working with injured vets or volunteering in the building of homes for the wounded warriors. He would have been greatly appreciated and respected for those actions…instead he chose a different path that led to his ruination.

I think a phony Spetsnaz might be the culprit..based on a phony operation Densmore did in Russia in 1994 that reamains classified and destroyed in the 1973 fire to this day in which he and his phony team took out a phony rogue Russian General and his command post
That is my bet
