William Blake; phony Marine
Scotty sends us another phony Marine from his own research. William Blake apparently took Grenada back from the Cubans all by himself even though he looks like Zippy the Pinhead in a steel pot. For future reference Bill, Grenada was the first battle in which the US troops wore kevlar hear gear.

But if you look at Scotty’s page, he kind of gets distracted by the lady’s feet. I guess folks who pretend to be Marine veterans have some sort fetish that they can’t resist. But anyway, despite the way he talks the talk of a killer Marine, for some reason the NPRC can’t find a record of his service. It must all be classified;
I guess that’s why he was more interested in talking about her feet than the Marine Corps, you have to stick to what you know.

Minor point of correction. The 82nd Airborne and their contingents did in fact introduce the kevlar helmet to the modern battlefield. However, 1st and 2nd Ranger Battalions (who actually jumped in) were still sporting the ever popular steel pot.

Has anyone noticed a lot of these turds claim they speak multiple languages? I’m not a psychologist but is this be some kind of deep seeded source of angst for them? Something, just like their nonexistent or elaborated military service, that they see as a deficiency about themselves, and something they wish was true? It’s quite bizarre to me.
I mean it seems an almost absolute certainty that someone, at some point will call these people on their BS and query whether they truly “Sprechen Sie”. But then again, I would think they would be called on their military fantasies quite often too…

The Marines who went into Grenada wore steel pots, not kevlar, Not sure the exact date that they were phased in but My Unit in Camp Pendelton Didn’t get issued them until 85′. Its small details that often catch posers though, like changes in uniform regulations.

@19, a consecutive rifle expert is someone who is expert at using consecutive rifles, such as the musket, which requires more than one if used in rapid succession as it requires a hand-loaded musket ball fired with powder…or something like that.

When the Army recruiter told me only Army puts jump school in your contract, the UPMC guy should of said something about WD. World Discoverer, UPMC sounds better than 11B1P peacetime. Could not find any references to a foot fetish in the biography of the Romantct poet William Blake, but I did find this bit of info about an incident of crowd action:

@ 18 “consecutive” expert would mean that he qualified so many times in a row. There is not an award for that, further exposing this numbnuts bullshit.The USMC has three qualification badges for weapons. There are only two weapons that rate them, the rifle and pistol. The awards are Marksman, Sharpshooter and Expert.The courses of fire weapons and scoring system has changed over the years but those badges are the same. If you shoot expert more than once you can wear an attached bar saying “second award” on it. you only wear one bar on it, the latest one. Also you always wear the badge for the last time you qualified. If you shoot expert twice then drop to sharphooter for 3 years, you would wear a sharpshooter badge. if you make expert on your 6th year you would rate to wearan expert badge with a “3rd award Bar” on it. The award bars are really subsequent and not consecutive. As for this ass clown claiming to have shot 246 and higher 6 years straight, very unlikely, Most the all-time range records were that. In my 15 times of annually qualifying with a service rifle I dont think I saw anyone shoot above a 243, and these were details of 200-400 shooters. A guy like that would have been snatched up for the competetive marksmanship program ASAP. Back to badges. One of the exceptions to this rule is that if a Marine receives a medal for shooting in military competition he can wear those instead of his Qual badges. He may wear up to three of those, but no more than 2 per weapon.

Probably pointed out already but the ONLY guys wearing K-Pots on Grenada was the 82nd. The Rangers and Marines wore M-1 Steel Helmets. The 82nd and Marines did have the PASGT vest, the Ranger wore no body armor.

When I finally made 63Z I got to move on to grander things. Taking care of other people’s toys wasn’t always fun, but it was almost always interesting.

Does anyone have good contact info and/or a good POC with the VA OIG? Seems to me that they might be interested in seeing what Scotty sent to NPRC and the NPRC reply. From what’s posted, it looks like he had a SSN and DOB; if those match what the VA has on file for this guy, well, someone’s got some ‘splainin’ to do.
Obtaining VA benefits with forged documents or under false pretenses is a Federal crime. And the VA OIG does occasionally investigate – and, when they can, burn – folks who do that.

Let me attempt to straighten this out a little. I have known Bill – the guy you are referencing above – for 30 years now. He is a decent guy, self-employed, very little income and is has significant health problems and is receiving treatment and benefits from the VA. He DID serve in the USMC from 1980-1983 and received an honorable discharge.
I can’t speak to the rest of it – the steel pot pic, the braggadocio about a claim to have been in combat. Surprising, because in all the time I have know him he never bragged about the Corps, and definitely never talked about ever being in combat.

@58- In the original post, you’ll see that the NPRC can’t find any records on him, for any service, at any time, ever. I imagine that’s what the more colorful comments are about, and why you’ll probably earn some more directed at you with your, “at least make an attempt to get it straight” line. They did attempt to get it right. That attempt yielded the fact that the national archives has NO RECORD of his service.
If your friend is indeed a marine veteran, then perhaps you should let him know that the federal agency that is in charge of his military records cannot seem to find them. He would probably like to know that so he can straighten this mess out. If his VA bennies come under review, there appears to be no record of him having earned them in the first place.

Toddsc6: you say you’ve known this guy for 30 years. That means you’ve known him since roughly the time he claims to have gotten out of the USMC.
How do you know that he ever served in any branch of the military? Did you yourself serve with him? Do you know someone personally who served with Blake and can validate the fact that Blake served from personal knowledge? Or did Blake tell you he was in the USMC but had gotten out when you first met him in the early 1980s?
Do NOT assume that that this guy getting VA benefits or showing you a DD214 proves conclusively that he ever served in the military. A DD214 is one of the more commonly forged or altered documents. A rather large number of persons receiving VA benefits have been later found to have obtained them using fraudulent documents, when in fact they never served in the military at all. The VA does an absolutely lousy job of checking; they generally accept whatever documents are given to them at face value. That’s why the VA gets defrauded so often.
In general, the NPRC can find a veteran’s records if they exist. Next week I’ll be doing a follow-up FOIA request with a bit more info than was available to the person doing the first FOIA. But if that follow-up request comes back with “no record found” – well, at that point I think it will be time to take this to the VA Office of the Inspector General.

#58 You claim he has significant health problems . but he claims to have won 24 World Champion Power lifting titles. You claim he served in the USMC from 80–83 which could very well be true. In order to only serve 3 years he would have had to sign up open contract. And the chance of him being placed in an Engineer’s Blt. are very very unlikely. The fact that you claim he was Honorably discharged & not Medically backs this assumption. Plus he claims on his F/B profile that he served 6 years & is retired from the Corps. Another WTF. for him. Then he claims of qualifying as an expert rifle man 6 times in a row. Another WTF for him.
Now for his conflict claims. He claims of serving both in Grenada & Beirut. The Engineers that were in Beirut don’t know him. And there was only one Platoon of Engineers in Grenada & he was not in that Platoon.
Now we are resubmitting for his service records at the NPRC at at least 3 diff. locations. As soon as we have those results, we will post them. you’ve already stated that he served 3 years while he claims of serving 6 years ( More than once he has made this claim). So you’ve already confirmed that he is an Embellish-er even if he did serve. And straight up Embellish-ers are worse than Posers because they should know better. Just claiming the title of Marine should be honor enough without jacking your Military history up.

Scotty: not to nitpick, but service from 80-83 would allow him to fulfill a 4-year contract if he (1) enlisted in early Jan 1980, and (2) received a 2- or 3-week “early out” for the holidays in 1983 (or took a substantial amount of terminal leave and didn’t remember to count his terminal leave time). If I recall correctly, the Army was cutting guys loose a bit early for the holidays in the early 1980s if they were due to ETS in early January to avoid having to outprocess them after the holidays. It was just easier on everyone to do that.
Doesn’t explain the other obvious “holes” in his story, though.

Plus the engineers in Grenada did not deploy to Beirut until Nov. of 83 if my memory is correct. So he would have been cutting it close for a 4 year enlistment.. That’s nit picking buddy…lol.

Scotty: yeah, you’re probably right – I didn’t do the age calculation. I’m pretty sure the USMC wouldn’t have taken him at age 17 w/o a HS diploma in 1980. Unemployment then was high and the economy was in the toilet. The military could afford to be selective.
Only ways I can see that might have worked is if he (1) managed to start school a year early, or (2) skipped a grade. Most school districts require a student to be 6 by NLT early in the year they start 1st grade; allowing someone to start 1st grade who doesn’t turn 6 until Jan is pretty damned rare. That would have allowed him to graduate HS in 1979 vice 1980. But unless he went to a very flexible school in 1st grade, I just don’t see that being the case. Possible, but highly doubtful. Ditto for skipping a grade – possible, but I’m not holding my breath.

I served with William Blake in the Marine Corps. I met him on Okinawa Japan in Aug of 82 Camp Hansen 3rdFSSG 9th Engineer Support Battalion Support Co HE Platoon. I believe he was in Bravo Co. He was a 1371 Combat Engineer. I also know Bill is very pissed off about this bs. I also know he can bench press about 500 lbs or so and would love to get his hands on the chicken neck that started all this crap. He is an animal.

@67 Telling folks you can bench press 500lbs while claiming disability status and health problems means you are probably lying about your athletic prowess or your disability status, in either case the truth is missing on one side of that equation. Which could cause someone to infer there are lies afoot, thus lending less credence to the veracity of your words.
Instead of being pretend tough guys in the anonymity of the internet, perhaps some documentation proving you are not a complete f#cking liar would work out a little better.
My experience is that guys chatting up women while claiming to be in a relationship with a different woman (on his facebook page) are guys who tend to lie about a lot of things. Cheaters, by definition are liars…take that as you will, but the truth will out.

Of course, since Blake doesn’t seem to mind Mike G posting his private info on the Internet, maybe Mike G could just send the site owner, Jonn Lilyea (see “Contact Us” Tab above) Blake’s SSN and ask him to forward it to me. That way I can make sure the SSN I have for Blake is accurate on the FOIA request.

Okay, he was a combat engineer. How many combat engineers (Heavy EquipmentOperators) are assigned to “classified operations”? Did he operate a stealth bull dozer? What command was he assigned to when he deployed to Grenada and Lebanon? Was he so high speed/low drag that they deployed him from Camp Hansen to II area of operations?
If you want my credentials, I was comm puke with 3rd AAV BN. 1st Tracks, a few maintenance battalions, 4th Marines, 3rd Combat Engineers, and a few comm battalions. Cowards and liars think honor equals power, and they mistake fear for respect. And again they are wrong.
Honor is easy to recognize when you are not a liar. It has little to do with beating people up and threatening to commit crimes.
It’s doing what’s required of you every day no matter how difficult or unpleasant, not because you are the strongest, toughest, son of a bitch on the planet but because you said you would and being honorable means you keep your word. Which is why liars never get it right because they have never kept their word and never intend to keep their word.
Maybe someday you will learn that lesson and change your karma, I hope you do. Or you could just keep on telling your lies and making threats and hope that somehow if you lie and threaten enough it will make all of your dishonesty go away like a bad dream, it won’t do that.

Sparky, I use the Jimmy Dean’s hot sausage and make my own biscuits. Yes out here in Az there is lots of fry bread and sopas but that’s not acceptable when it comes to gravy. Tortilas might count after the biscuits are gone. You might wanna try “chorrizo” to spice up your gravy. From time to time I’ll use two parts sausage, one part chorrizo, talk about spicy!?! Damn, just had breakfast and now I’m hungry again!?!:)

YatYas, this is a recipe for cheesy hash browns. It’s Rachael Ray’s, not mine, but I leave out the nutmeg.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 large onion, chopped
5 cups shredded frozen hash brown potatoes
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Freshly grated nutmeg, to taste
1 cup extra-sharp white Cheddar crumbles
Directions:
Heat a large skillet with extra-virgin olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Add onions and let soften 2 to 3 minutes. Add potatoes, season with salt and pepper and cook 20 minutes, turning occasionally, until brown and crispy. Season with a little freshly grated nutmeg, to taste, and add cheese. Turn the potatoes and onions with cheese to melt the crumbles and crisp the cheese a bit, about 1 minute.
Transfer to serving dish.
Include strawberry preserves with brepus.

Ex-PH2: My impression of chorizo was that it seemed like a somewhat drier (less fatty, perhaps) and spicier version of pepperoni. But I haven’t had chorizo very often, and what I had might not have been particularly good chorizo.
When I lived in the southwest, I generally gravitated towards carne asada, adobada, and tamales (any kind, but I think green corn were my favoite) vice chorizo.

Well it seems that Billy Blake aka Mickey G hasn’t been around in a while. His threats of weapons and doing people may be his downfall. He may need an attorney but it will be a defense attorney. His childish rantings lead me to believe that he needs his diaper changed more frequently, a bottle to suck on (or something else), and more than one nap in the day. First FOIA says no record, waiting on the second request, and this individual keeps shooting himself in the foot. I hope for his sake that his rantings are real as fraud against the VA is punishable by time in Ft. Leavenworth . No good time there you serve what you are sentenced to.

Is the NPRC a source of information Gospel-like in it’s veracity? No. Obviously not. And the hard-core investigative types here know that. That’s been taken into account. That’s why multiple types of information are accepted as evidence of proof.
And finally, while you may consider the theft of valor and honor by the undeserving as “bubble gum shit”, some of us do not. Thankfully we live in a country where such discourse is not only tolerated, but encouraged.

Oh, and since I was the one that brought up the SSN: I already have what purports to be “Bill Blake’s” SSN. Since “Mike G” seemed to be all too willing to share Blake’s personal info – like phone numbers – I thought perhaps he might have Blake’s permission to share that as well via private channels. I didn’t ask him to post it publicly.
An accurate SSN raises the chances of NPRC finding military records substantially. And they didn’t find any records on him the first time around.

Understood. I live in Dewey, Ok. (which is right next to Bartlesville and I have called the number that was posted earlier and talked to a Mr. Bill Blake who says that he was in fact in the Marines from 80 to 83 but the rest of the Beirut, Grenada etc. rant in his facebook was not posted by him. He said that he was working at a local bar and left his laptop open and apparently someone got on it and posted all that B.S. (probably as a joke) ha ha real funny right! Now I can’t vouch for his DD-214 but I will call him again and see if I can get him to either A.) let me photograph it and post it here or B.) try to convince him to do it himself.

Alternatively, you can send an unredaced copy through private channels (see “Contact Us” for the webmaster’s address and ask him to forward it to me) and I’ll ensure all PII is redacted before it’s publicly posted.
Jonn Lilyea (the site owner here) and Scotty (the one who found this originally) are both honorable men. If they’re wrong, they’ll definitely print a retraction and an apology.
If you know “Mike G”, you might want to tell him that he’ll get treated much better here if he cans the “I’m a real badass” routine and tries being polite. Virtually every regular here is a vet; most have served in a combat zone. Threats and macho posturing don’t go very far here. Being polite does.

Well after speaking with Mr. Blake he said he will not post or send his DD-214 to anyone or anywhere, moreover he says the burden of proof is on you fellows and that he said “Bring it on” and try to disprove that he is a former Marine. I still wonder how you can justify this defamation of his character based on a facebook posting as an honorable task. It would seem to be rather immature to post information that has not been completely verified and is merely hearsay information if that.

Peach and Raspberry Crisp – Ina Garten’s recipe
Now, I use 1 full pint of raspberries and old-fashioned rolled oats, but otherwise, I stick to the recipe. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or lemon sorbet.
Ingredients
4 to 5 pounds firm, ripe peaches (10 to 12 large peaches)
1 orange, zested
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 cups plus 2 to 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 pint raspberries
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
1/2 pound cold unsalted butter, diced
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter the inside of a 10 by 15 by 2 1/2-inch oval baking dish.
Immerse the peaches in boiling water for 30 seconds, then place them in cold water. Peel the peaches and slice them into thick wedges and place them into a large bowl. Add the orange zest, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of flour. Toss well. Gently mix in the raspberries. Allow the mixture to sit for 5 minutes. If there is a lot of liquid, add 1 more tablespoon of flour. Pour the peaches into the baking dish and gently smooth the top.
Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, salt, oatmeal, and the cold, diced butter in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment.
Mix on low speed until the butter is pea-sized and the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle evenly on top of the peaches and raspberries.
Bake for 1 hour, until the top is browned and crisp and the juices are bubbly. Serve immediately, or store in the refrigerator and reheat in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 20 to 30 minutes, until warm.

In the military justice world, clients who pop hot for drugs typically claim that someone fed them some sort of pastry that unknowingly contained drugs… Or they just happened to be in a location where other people were smoking pot. I think our sock puppet theater is employing a similar psychology. Some unknown and impossible to identify person “hacked” an open Facebook account. That’s right up there with the common child porn excuse: “I was doing ‘research’ to help catch the real criminals.” I’ve defended enough people who have come to me already neck deep in contradictions to have a good eye toward crap. And the reasonable-guy tact of a guy who just happened to call this poser and defend him is crap. Nothing about this story even remotely opens the door to a benefit of the doubt. The burden of proof landed on Blake when no records were found NRPC. Also by not answering some questions any Marine would know. Rex–I dunno, but if it were me, and my “Facebook got hacked” bit, I’d sure as hell 1–delete the offending posts at first opportunity, 2–issue a correction stating that I had never done said super-secret squirrel shit, 3–change my password, 4–answer all tactful queries in the manner in which they were received; i.e., I get a “WTF?” e-mail, I send a copy of 214 (redacted) as explanation.

Uh, Rex Tyrannis . . . you did read the letter reply from NPRC listed above, right? And the public info request (SF180) that was posted with that reply?
The NPRC is the part of the US National Archives that manages Federal military and civilian personnel records after an individual has left government service. Those records, by law, are permanent. A far amount of the information therein is public record and may be obtained by anyone who requests it. Among that information which s publicly available is dates of service, branch of service, assignments, geographical locations, awards and decorations, and a photograph (if available; a photo is one item that’s often not present).
The fact of a veteran’s military service is NEVER classified. And virtually nothing in a veteran’s records is normally classified. In particular, units of assignments, dates of service, and awards/decorations are not. On rare occasion, an evaluation or other document might be. I sat on one promotion board before my retirement; out of 4000+ records, there were (as I recall) two individuals with maybe 5 classified evals. Everything else in everyone’s was unclassified. So the “classified records” song and dance is just that – a bullshit song and dance.
Bottom line: if an individual served in the Federal armed forces (active or reserve), NPRC has records of his/her service after they’ve completed same. And Blake’s far too young for his records to have been destroyed in the 1973 St Louis fire – which is the second bullshit song and dance often tried by fakers.
Oh, and by the way: the person who submitted that first FOIA request on Blake verified to me that it included what purports to be Blake’s SSN. That records check at NPRC came back negative – e.g., “nothing found”. That request didn’t have his full name, however. That’s why I independently submitted a 2nd request on him yesterday. I used the full name from his VA ID card (he’s sent copies of that to others) and used the SSN from the previous. I also asked the NPRC to check all branches of service. If that one comes back “nothing found”, I think we can consider that confirmation that there’s something odd here.
One other point: publicly available records show 2 different listings for a “William Blake” in Bartlesville, OK. One is Blake; the other individual seems to be about 20 years older, and is identified as having a different address. Should the FOIA I filed come back negative, I think I’ll re-file it without the SSN and with dates of service listed as “unknown” and see what i get.

Oh, and RT? The outright refusal to provide a redacted DD214 when questioned is IMO probably the third or fourth most common response of the military faker after the “fire” and “classified records” lies. (I’m not sure if it’s more or less common than the “I got that medal/badge/qualification, but it never made it into my records” sob story). Just providing that info FYI.
So far, Blake’s batting 2 of 4 (.500) on the most common bullshit songs and dances.

Well, to be fair, Hondo, mine isn’t “complete” either, in that my last Navy Achievement Medal isn’t on it and I never bothered to file a DD-215, but if you go online with my SS, there it is. And funny, but I found out a few months ago I was entitled to a 4th “Battle E” and 3rd MUC (Meritorious Unit Citation) but awarded after I left those commands. However, given that my current employer gives a rat’s ass about a couple of unit awards almost 20 years old, well…

Sparky, I hear ya. I got a “post dated” Sea Service ribbon that ain’t on my DD-214. I don’t need a ribbon to tell me I served on LST-1198, LPD-8 and LSD-37 bouncing around the Pacific at Christmas time. BUT…my DD-214 says I served. It’s all there, active duty and reserve time.

NHSparky, Yat Yas 1833: gentlemen, I said “made it into my records” – not “made it onto my DD214″ in comment 307. Sounds to me like in both of your cases the appropriate info may well be in your official records, being added after your discharge. That happens fairly often. And it also sounds like each of you both have other documentation for the award as well.
My point was that the “that medal never made it into my records” sob story is almost always exactly that – e.g., bogus – when it comes to a vet’s records at NPRC. And on those rare occasions where that happens, an honorable individual will generally have documentation to back his/her claim. When they don’t, well, . . . .

Yat Yas 1833: you generally have to request a DD215 for awards issued after the DD214 was prepared. Don’t know what the procedure is for USMC vets from the 1970s doing so, but the local DAV/VFW/American Legion folks can probably point you in the right direction for that.
My guess is all you have to do is send a copy of the award orders/other documentation somewhere with a letter requesting that the award (1) be added to your records if not already present, and (2) you be issued a DD215 showing the correction. I had to do that for 3 of my 5 DD214s to get missing info added. Key question will be where you have to send the letter since you’ve been out a while.
IMO that’s probably worth doing as time permits, but that’s obviously your call.

Certain portions of a veteran’s military records are exempt for release under the FOIA and may be released only with the consent of the veteran or his/her next of kin. However, selected information is considered public record information and may be released to the public if available with or without the consent of the veteran. These elements are
– Name
– Service Number (NOT the SSN; these were discontinued in the 1970s)
– Dates of Service
– Branch of Service
– Final Duty Status
– Final Rank
– Salary
– Assignments and Geographical Locations
– Source of Commission
– Military Education Level
– Promotion Sequence Number
– Awards and decorations (eligibility only, not actual medals)
– Photograph
– Transcript of Courts-Martial Trials
– Place of entrance and separation
If the veteran is deceased,the following additional information may be released (if available):
– Place of birth
– Date and geographical location of death
– Place of burial

What this means is that anyone who asks can find out whether or not Blake actually served in the military; when and where he served; what rank he was when he left service; what medals he rates; if he was ever courts-martialed; and a fair amount of other information. They just need to know who to ask and to have enough information to identify Blake.
That’s already been done once. The first time, the answer came back “no records found”. A follow-up request, submitted with more information about Blake, is now in process.

I served a single enlistment as an 11B in the ARNG in peacetime a long time ago I was a nobody in the military and I know it. I make no claim otherwise.
My respect for those who make the military a career and/or serve under hostile fire is immeasurable. I can’t imagine applying for a job and claiming status for something I did not do. Nor could I imagine sitting down and attempting to bullsh1t my way through a conversation with the very men and women who have done the things I did not. My dad never served because he had a heart murmur but he was an honest hard working construction worker who believed you told the truth and when you shook someone’s hand you gave them your word as an honorable man or woman and you didn’t lie. The military reinforced those ideals in my mind.
What kind of people are creating the William Blakes and the other phonies that seem so prevalent here? Do we have that many families where the values of truth and honorable action are no longer important that we now have this endless stream of lying 4ssholes? I hope that is not the case, but with less than 1% serving and I think someone said 1 out of 150 families touched by someone serving it makes me think we have reached a point where far more people are only interested in serving their own selfish interests and not that of the greater good by working in their communities, or in service to the nation. And lying and acting dishonorably to get the things you want seem to be more in favor than not to me at times.
Blake/Mike G et al…you guys lied, if you really are a tough guy tell the world you f$cked up and take your hits and move on. Stop lying to everyone about what you did and just try being a good guy to your family, your neighborhood and your community at large. Separated early in life after a tragic fire in their parent’s double wide trailer (vintage meth lab), the twins were sent to a group home for unusual young boys (if you know what I am talking about). Short version: in OK, VA hospitals are located in OKC and Muskogee. But there’s both a VA Outpatient Health Clinic and a Vet’s Center in Tulsa. There are also clinics in Jay, Vinita, and Stillwater – which all seem not too much farther away from Bartlesville than Tulsa. Vinita might even be slightly closer.
My guess would be the ones in Tulsa, but that’s just a guess.

Starting with comment 416, all of the “Anonymous” comments above are coming from the same residential IP in Bartlesville, OK. That IP has been used by another persona above as well – RealDeal. The e-mail address used by RealDeal indicates the computer at that location is likely being used by either Blake himself or someone Blake knows. Alternatively, Blake may be using an acquaintance’s computer at that acquaintance’s residence with their permission. The time of day of most of those comments (late night/early morning) argues against the latter, though.
The persona “Mike G” is consistently commenting from what appears to be a DSL connection in Tulsa. All but two appear to have come from the same IP; since it’s a static IP assignment, it doesn’t move. Based the time of day of some of “Mikey-boy’s” asinine comments, this is most likely a residential DSL connection. The other two comments by Mikey-boy may have been made from alternate locations in the Tulsa area.
I’m guessing RealDeal and Anonymous (416 and later) are Billy-boy himself, while “Mikey” is probably a buddy of Blake’s from the Tulsa Vet Center. But it’s also possible that Billy-boy spends the night in Tulsa at an acquaintance’s place from time to time and uses a computer there – which means Mikey could be an alter ego of Blake’s, too.

Looks like “Billy-boy” needs to invest in some remedial reading comprehension courses. The first FOIA reply posted in the article above rather clearly states that NPRC checked with the FBI and that the FBI provided no information showing Blake had served in any branch of the military.
The 2nd FOIA had a bit more info. Let’s see if we get the same answer. Since it had the same SSN, I’m guessing we will.

If he is Claremore he could be using the Fayetteville AR VA. The Regional VA office is in Muskogee in addition to the VA Hospital. And the VA Clinic in Tulsa and Vinita would be equal distant to Claremore.

Since you appear to be a pea-brain, for your benefit I’ll spell things out for you. The names “William Blake” and “William Roberts Blake” are fully consistent; “William Blake” is a shorter form of “William Roberts Blake”. The same SSN and DOB were used on both FOIA requests. That’s why I stated previously I expected no difference in the second reply.
There wasn’t any difference. Both say no record of military service for a “William Blake” was found matching the DOB and SSN submitted.
The second FOIA was more specific than the first. That means it had a HIGHER chance of getting an accurate response if you actually served in the USMC as you claimed. Neither search found your records. So not only were the two names used consistent; so were the results.
The results both FOIA records searches say there’s no record of you serving in the USMC when you claimed you did. Further, the FBI agrees; they checked their files and have no info of a “William Blake” with the DOB and SSN used on those FOIAs serving in the military during the early 1980s whatsoever.
I don’t really know why I’m trying to explain this to a dumbass such as yourself, Blake-boy. You’re evidently either simply too stupid to get it, or you just don’t care.

Whom I busted when he said he went to Boot Camp at Camp Pen and had a purple heart. After that I started looking at websites like this. I am astouded that people do this. It really makes me angry and sick at my stomach. I really did not know. But Thank goodness for John and his people at this site for exposing these people. Well Mr Blake, just a few thoughts from me on this matter. the 1st is don’t think for a second that you are the first person to use a VA card to try to prove service/service connection etc. if you were service connected there would be an “SC” on the front of your card to indicate that. Now Im trying to work off the premise here that you actually tried to serve. anyone who tried and failed to serve/adsepped out/ good of the service/preexisting mental condition(for ex: bi-polar) etc can seek treatment at the VA based on lack of income alone so holding up a VA card is pretty worthless as a gauge to character or length of service.1371 actual who posted above knows for a fact you didnt serve where you said you did…he REALLY was there. My suggestion to you at this point is to take a deep breath and come clean. at the end of the day, all you have left is personal Integrity and do you want to be known forever as “that guy”? it will probably be really hard to do it but in the long run at least you will be able to tell yourself you did the RIGHT thing…who knows? you might get an ounce or two of respect back…..signed, A REAL Beirut Marine

Just a couple of side notes for those of you interested .
Combat Engineers play a couple of different roles in the Marine Corps. Construction and Destruction.
Engineers in an FSSG unit (that Mikey claims he and Blake were in) perform primarily as a support unit for the front line units. Things like bunker construction and bridging obstacles via standard and non standard bridges. For that they also have separate units such as Heavy Junk(equipment) and Electricians attached to them.
When deployed in an FMF Unit(Fleet Marine Force) we are basically grunts but specialize in explosives and land mines. There’s generally one squad of Combat Engineers for each line company in a Marine Amphibious Unit. That is why there were so few of us on the Grenada/Beirut deployment.
While I mentioned earlier the two Marines killed from our unit ,they were not our only casualties. The first Marine killed in Beirut was an Engineer- Cpl. David Reagan who died while clearing anti-personnel mines. Our biggest loss was Oct 23,1983 we lost virtually our whole sister platoon (as well as 200+ other Marines-a total of 243 from 1st Battalion/Eight Marines) in the bombing of the BLT Hdqtrs. We were on our way to replace them in a routine rotation when Pres.Reagan decided to invade Grenada. They were blown up by a truck bomb that was the largest non-nuclear explosion since WW Two, two days before we hit the island.(that attack was carried out by Hezbollah and was was masterminded, funded and initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran and that action eventually led to 9/11)
I once again want to thank you all for taking it upon yourselves to honor all of those brave men by not allowing Mr. Blake and people like him to get away with their feeble attempt to live vicariously through the actions and sacrifices of REAL heroes.

I was flown to Beirut after the bombing. I was in a platoon of engineers that built wire obstacles around the airport and bunkers to put every Marine underground. I was there with 1371 Actual, when his A gunner was killed and I spent 2 years with Cpl Reagan before he was killed. Blake, Real Deal, Mike G, Anonymous, whoever you are, you weren’t there. Yes Blake- I have more than limited knowledge about the Engineer Community . I know all about Camp Hansen and 9th FSSG . I used to run by there 3 times a week for about 13 months on our 3 mile runs while assigned to 3RD MAR DIV Combat Engineers on the other side of the base. While there I recall hearing about several Marines being separated and/or dish charged for everything from incessant crying for their mommy to going out to Kinville, getting drunk and raping a local 10 yr. old on their way back to base and everything in between.

1371Actual, I was with 3rd Combat Engineers back in Oct 91- Oct 92. I was in the comm shop. Had some pretty good stories from 3rd CEB. I lost my 3rd CEB coin a few years ago, but still have the coffe mug. And I think that 3rd CEB had the best unit motto of any unit I was ever assigned to. “We Engineer The Best Fight”.

For those who are wondering about my quals: USS Harlan County (LST-1196) was my unit in Beirut 1983.
We brought a full complement of Marines for their rotation. Many of them did not come back with us, however. I volunteered for the S&R Detail on scene immediately after the BLT came down.
Realdealengineer and Beirut Engineer are two of my Brothers. Even without using my name, I believe they know who I am from FB and can vouch for me.
I, too, am angry about Stolen Valor, especially since the subject of this thread is claiming to be one of my Beirut Brothers.
If I can help in any way to expose fakes, I would consider it an honor to do so.

Could be Billy-boy posting from elsewhere, or it could be one of Billy-boy’s “special friends” coming here to defend him when Billy-boy runs to him and cries on his shoulder. It’s kinda hard to have a legit DD214 when you never served. And there seems to be no record of you ever having served, Billy-boy. The NPRC has records of folks who got pitched during basic/boot, so they’ll certainly have records of someone who was with the USMC in Beirut and/or Grenada. The NPRC cannot seem to find your records. That’s been the case on multiple attempts. The FBI also cannot find evidence you ever served. Ergo, the evidence shows that you almost certainly never served as you claimed.
It’s been conclusively proven by other means that you never served in either Grenada or Beirut, so we won’t even go into that lie of yours.
Bottom line: everyone here believes you’re a lying tool as well as a truly “special” asshole. The evidence so far fully supports that thesis. You’re almost certainly lying about that latest “visit” from VA investigators, too.
No matter. Here’s your chance: prove to us you served, Billy-boy. Photocopy your DD214, redact your PII on the copy, scan the redacted version, and send a copy to Jonn. His e-mail address is “admin@thisainthell.us”. (That’s found by selecting the “Contact Us” button above, but you appear too damn dumb to figure that out on your own.) If you need help in running the copier or scanning the document, I’m sure the folks at Kinko’s will be happy to help you.

According to Marine Corps History the RECON unit did not stand up again after Korea until 1965. So someone please tell me how someone is a Vietnam War Vet if you were there in 1962 or 1963. This terd isn’t going to dry up and blow away. Unfortunately In my opinion he is one of the worst sort of posers to get rid of. His biggest infraction was getting caught bullshitting a chickie online about being in Beruit, a killer etc.
I’m thinking the rest of his story is legit. He was in the Corps, was an Engineer, but served on the West coast and Oki.
He probably was able to get a VA Pension. Those wide body types always seem to come down with a bad disk from slinging those weights around in Special Services or get bum knees or ankles from hauling all that “muscle”( which just happens to have a high fat content around). It could be something that doesnt show up at a casual glance ( hearing loss or hypertension). Its hard to overlook jackasses like this, especially when then come on here under fake names making vulgar comments. It sounds like he has given up trying to defend himself on the Beruit issue and is trying to make it sound like people are being jerks and harrassing him saying he never served and didn’t get a legit VA pension.
Tell you what Blake, I will give you credit for serving. I will give you credit for getting a disability pension (probably its not a huge percentage and service related)
I will also give you credit for being an asshole embellisher for claiming Combat service in Beruit (Which is the original subject).
You are also a chubby twat for not simply not posting some evidence ( your boot camp Picture looks 100% legit)like orders, DD214, etc. You chose to simply insult those who called you out on your lies about Beruit.

If he ever served in the USMC as he claims, NPRC would have records. The USMC has no National Guard component. All USMC service (active and reserve) is Federal service, and any USMC records on Blake would now be held/managed by NPRC. So if they can’t find any . . . .

If it is a platoon photo, could be anyone, as he may have grabbed it off of the internet. I have my photo posted on my Facebook photos, and to be honest, I can’t find myself in there. Just a bunch of shaved head, sun-burned guys wearing government issued BCG’s, all looking uniform (slight pun there). If it is an individual portrait, it could be a brother’s photo. If you took my boot camp portrait and placed it next to my brother’s boot camp portrait, you would be hard pressed to distinguish me from him. He made claims of being a Grenada/ Beruit Veteran, Which were shot down not only by a records search under the name HE CHOSE TO USE, but by actual Veterans of the specific unit ( which was a rather small detachment, so the odds of him getting forgotten among the masses is nil). They do not recall his name or face as serving with them. I am going to go as far as allowing that this “William Blake” or whoever the hell he is served. I’ll go as far as saying he probably managed to get a service relation VA pension. But I’m betting the farm that he will never let his “real” name be known because his DD214 will show that he 1. Never served in Grenada or Beruit 2. will reveal he was less then a stellar performer and/or 3. Will have evidence in it that may dispute his eligibilty for a VA pension.

We have a photo of what Billy-boy claims is his VA ID card. The photo on the card appeared to be a photo of Blake. That card lists his name as “William Roberts Blake, Jr.”. So unless he’s lying to the VA about his actual identity – and thus committing fraud – yeah, we know his name. We also believe we have his correct DOB and SSN.
Next time you see “Billy”, why don’t you ask him (1) why he refuses to send a copy of any of his service documentation (with PII removed) to prove he served at all, and (2) why NPRC can’t find his military records, even using his full name, DOB, and SSN.

Blake’s captured comments clearly imply he was in Grenada. He was asked to “Tell me more of YOUR time in Grenada” (emphasis added) by the lady he was trying to impress on-line. He then made statements implying he was there and participated in combat while there.
In short, he claimed to have seen combat in Grenada. Doesn’t get more cut and dried than that.
Further: if you’ve seen a DD214, I’m guessing it’s a fake – and that’s why Blake won’t redact it and let anyone here who might know what “right looks like” see it. NPRC would have his records if he’d ever served as he claimed. However, NPRC can’t find any records for him – even when provided his name, SSN, and DOB.
Blake’s records weren’t “lost in the NPRC fire”, either. That incident happened 10 years before Grenada.
No records found – on at at least 4 searches, at least two of which had his SSN and DOB. That’s pretty damned telling IMO.
Blake appears to be a LSoS. I also see he’s got a naive defender or two in Claremore.
