Walter Reed to name clinic for John Murtha
Our buddy, Coby Dillard, sends us a link to a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review report that the folks at Walter Reed Military Medical Center are planning on naming their cancer clinic for backstabbing, lying, cheating, ex-Marine John Murtha;
“It’s a very fitting tribute to my husband because he cared so much about the troops and making sure they were taken care of. I’m delighted, ” said Joyce Murtha, whose husband served in Congress from 1974 until his death in February 2010. For much of that time, the former Marine either chaired or was the ranking member of the House panel that oversaw defense spending. He is the longest-serving congressman in Pennsylvania history.
Yeah, I’d expect his widow to have nothing but good stuff to say about her dead husband, but his illegal and immoral activities are well-known through-out DC circles. If any one person is responsible for the war against terror, it’s Murtha, since he convinced President Clinton to withdraw prematurely from Somalia and he did his best to undermine efforts of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
What I don’t understand is that Murtha is dead now, naming the clinic for him will get the clinic no tangible benefit so why stick their finger in our eye like that? I hope they put up a sign to remind the Marines who are treated at the clinic that John P. Murtha called them “cold blooded killers”.

Whatever bad things we can say about Murtha (spit!), they can’t begin to scratch the surface. Remember ABSCAM? He was labeled an unindicted coconspirator because he gave up his fellow crooks. What a POS he was. he was offered $50,000 but declined, saying he wasn’t ready to take the bribe–yet. He claimed that he thought the FBI A-rabs were interested in jobs for his district. Arrggggh.

Murtha is the perfect example of how a Veteran with a distinguished and honorable service can later render himself unworthy of shining a serviceman’s shoes. Nancy Pelosi is behind this, I bet. She had Mutha were close buds and she has remained friends, I read, with Murth’s widow.

A bit O/T, but any of you guys watching Sunday Night Football? Bob Costas just decided to use the Javon Belcher murder-suicide to give an anti-gun lecture/screed, quoting the liberal idiot Jason Whitlock. Said that our gun culture promotes this sort of thing, a handgun doesn’t make us safer, it instead promotes this senseless violence, and that if Javon didn’t have a handgun, would he and his girlfriend be alive today.

Murtha already has a big unused airport/useless Guard defense appendage in his name out near Johnstown, Pennsylvania, too. I was astounded when I picked up computers there for our unit once at the IT shop there. One lonely warrant officer full timer out there staffing this gorgeous, unused, state-of-the-art facility, while my unit was seeking Air Force hand-me-downs out at State College’s airport. This regional airport has a baggage check THAT NEVER RUNS.
Murtha was a pantload, but if you ever wonder how he managed to stay elected in one of our more conservative areas, one has to only look at the money he brought his district.
