Iraqi bomber in AZ was refused green card for “terrorism-related activity”

We’ve mentioned Iraqi-born Abdullatif Ali Aldosary who detonated a bomb in Casa Grande, AZ’s social security office this week. Well, it seems that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services denied his application for a green card last year for being a person engaged in “terrorism-related activity.”

[Rep. Paul Gosar, R-AZ] said DHS responded by saying Aldosary was not eligible for a permanent change to citizenship “pursuant to the terrorism-related grounds of inadmissibility, and that “individuals who engage in terrorism-related activity … are barred from receiving various immigration benefits.”

DHS did not elaborate on what the activity was. Gosar wrote that to be barred from permanent status, under federal law the immigrant must have engaged in activity “indicating an intention to cause death or serious bodily injury, a terrorist activity; to prepare or plan a terrorist activity; to gather information on potential targets for terrorist activity” or belong to “a terrorist organization” among other actions.

So, after the bombing incident, Gosar asked DHS why Aldosary wasn’t deported after his application was denied;

Gosar also asked what efforts were made to track and monitor “a known terrorist.”

Another government official, who asked not to be identified, said just because an application is denied or on hold – because of the part of immigration law dealing with terrorism-related activity – doesn’t mean that person is a terrorist.

Since the government isn’t prosecuting him for terrorist-related activity for the bombing of the office in Arizona, I guess that means he’s not a terrorist, either.

DHS is ssaying that Aldosary was reportedly involved in an anti-government uprising in Basra in 1991, but that just sounds weird. How would DHS know that?

According to Patrick Poole of PJMedia, investigators found that Aldosary also had $20,000 despite the fact that he works as a day laborer. So this isn’t looking good for anyone who was involved with Aldosary.

    It’s a good thing DHS is on the job, making sure grandma and grandpa are strip searched at the airport, little kids are groped in a manner that would get anyone else thrown in jail for sexual assault, and us Vets are at the top of the list of persons of concern to security, but some chucklehead that has cash, bombs, and is a known terrorist is good to go. I think it’s time to get rid of DHS, since, as always, was a good idea for a department that turns to shit the second politicians get involved.

    You guys just do NOT understand these things.

    People in WDC are brain-dead. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it until I get it hammered in. Brain-dead. They only react when someone actually whacks them somehow, and then, like any reanimated corpse, they over-react and create more government bloat mired in incompetence.

    It will be this way until or unless we, the peeps, fire all of them, repeal all their legislation, and start over from scratch with the common sense basics of the US Constitution.

    Wait. Did I just say that? Common sense? I forgot myself for a moment. Sorry. My expectations sometimes slip their leash.

    “(I)ndividuals who engage in terrorism-related activity … are barred from receiving various immigration benefits.” but, “Another government official, who asked not to be identified, said just because an application is denied or on hold – because of the part of immigration law dealing with terrorism-related activity – doesn’t mean that person is a terrorist”. Which is it? Was he “engaged” in terrorism or wasn’t he? If he was, and bombing a federal building seems to show that he was, why would the “unidentified” official give him cover by that weak-assed statement?
