Remember this dirtbag? (Ryan Brashears)

| December 17, 2012

Ryan Brashears in Marine uniform 1

When last we saw Ryan Brashears, he was stealing from folks while claiming to be a WWP solicitor.

Officers contacted the solicitor, identified as Ryan L. Brashears, 18, in the area after the caller to police provided a description.

Police determined Brashears was not affiliated with the Wounded Warriors Project and had been claiming to be a wounded U.S. Marine and combat veteran, Chambers said.

Now, that was back in June. Since then, he had another arrest

Arrested On: 09/04/2012
Booking ID: 1256420
•0163.160 ASSAULT 4 / ASSAULT 4TH DEG – 1

So, what to do after you’ve been arrested?* I know, fake an enlistment! Notice the date of the arrest, and this facebook update from his page:

*Check that, looks like he faked his enlistment BEFORE his arrest.

But, keeping track of all this stuff is tough, and, we all know that the Marines and Army Airborne are the same thing, so his job posting on his facebook page makes total sense.

So, here’s his Facebook page if you want to have fun.

[Deleted one portion that appears not to be germane.] I wonder where Ryan is now? No posting since he enlisted in the US Army Rangers Marine Corps. I guess that Ft Paris Benning Island is some tough shit.

I predict a long career in the music industry for this fine young man.

I can see his stage name now: 1-DMF.

  2. NHSparky says:

And of course he’ll be taken from the second or third night of boot camp at Great Lake Offutt AFB and sent to the “secret” BUD/S classes held right behind the regular BUD/S classes at Fort Coronado.

    Pinkie swear.

  3. crucible says:

I kinda like Private Ft. Paris Benning Island myself.

  4. Girlfriend/victim/defender of phony marines, insists that he lives in the Medford area with an aunt. According to the wife of the disabled marine, whom Brashears assaulted/had a thing with: he actually lives with his aunt who is helping him make better choices and he has a good job”
I mentioned to her: “Just reading the facebook page that he has with the “new name”, where he calls himself a soldier, and claims to be in the Marines.”
and: “I see that he has posted several photos wearing USMC clothing in September”
to which she replied: “ya but hes not collecting money.”
I posed this: “So, Brenda. Even after your husband had his dreams shattered of becoming a Marine, you are alright with this guy claiming, apparently falsely, to be a Marine? That doesn’t bother you?”
She came back with: “no i dont think its cool to be pretending to be a marine or anything else. but i also know him and kno he just needs help”
    Whew, I need a break….

  5. Chip@NASA says:

When is NDAA being signed in to law and when does SV become effective.
I want the FBI taking over d-bags cases like these and see how they giggle when they’re talking to the Feds.

  6. Chip@NASA says:

    @4 FO…..doing Gods Work….tending to the retarded.

  7. Green Thumb says:

    What a shitbag.

Sad thing is is that he is not alone in his fraud using WWP.

The irony is that WWP does nothing about it.

  8. 2-17 Air Cav says:

He’ll be a Lance Specialist in no time. The boy has the stuff!

  9. USMCE8Ret says:

What the fucking fuck is going on here?

  10. melle1228 says:

Easy Recap.. He went into the Army Airbourne Ranger School and came out a Marine.. 🙂

  11. LFR says:

I’m sure they’ll send him to the super top secret field artillery scout sniper school. 5 years from now, after all the other combat troops have been pulled out of Afghaniland, he’ll be there… on the crest of a mountain, just him and his trusty howitzer picking off taliban leaders.

  12. 2-17 Air Cav says:

@9. You sound like the Ranger Up video Marine! Made me laugh.

  13. If this turd reminds Y’all of someone else here, perhaps we’re thinking of Kyle Barwan. Same M.O.:
    and here:
    and here:
Who, coincidentally, is doing “waiting time” in a county slammer. The feds have a hold on him, and according to a former friend, who is staying on his list to feed info to us, says that Barwan had the feds call this guy and ask if it was true that he would take Barwan in if he could be released. He replied that it would not happen, that in fact this kid is sharing expenses with his parents and they too would not go for it. Maybe, just maybe he will have a Turkey sandwich in his hands while bent over his bunk on Christmas day up there in that Kentucky county jail.

  14. Trent says:

Great googly moogly. This is exactly what happened to me when I signed up for Ranger Airborne school, they sent me directly to MCRD San Diego. It was a tough adjustment but once they issued us our sunglasses and tanning lotion I got used to it. After graduating from BUDS at NTC San Diego, I got into Delta Force with no problems. You can check my credentials with my buddies Larry and Bill.

Seriously though, why is Oregon such a magnet for these turds? Somebody needs to check our water sources for contamination.

  15. USMCE8Ret says:

@12 – Had to try and get a laugh out of somebody. This stuff drives me NUTS!

If his FB is still alive, he’s likely gonna get “skeered away” once folks start chiming in on him. It’d be more interesting to watch his antics from afar instead of alerting him “the blog” is onto him again.

#13 – That’s too funny. Kyle Barwan. I wanna kick the shit out of him, too.

  16. TSO says:

I would love to come check the water.

Oregon is on the list of 4 states I have not been able to visit. And it is #2 among those states. (NM, ND, and ID are the others.)

I specifically want to visit the Wilhammette Valley, because of the books that were written about the area. (The SM Sterling series.)

  17. JBS says:

“Oh-3 hundred Infantry! Ya made it!”

  18. CV, in my trucking days, I did a lot of hauling into and out of Oregon. Enjoyed it immensely, especially the Willamette Valley, also the area West of I-5, where I loaded most of my wood loads. But all that was back in the 70’s, 80s, when a poser was fair game for a seriously major asswhipping.

  19. Trent says:

TSO, come on out and I’ll buy the beer.

You can’t beat flying into Portland-Mt. Hood on one side of the plane and Mt. St. Helens on the other; with Ranier off in the distance.

I live 15 minutes from the park where the fight scenes from The Hunted were filmed (the scenes with the waterfall).

This miscreant lives down south. I have family down there and I may see if they know the family.

  20. TSO says:

@4, I’m leaving Brenda out of this for now. She went batshit when I went her a PM, and I’m not sure it is entirely germane. It seems to me from reading her portion that she screwed up, and is paying almost every day for getting involved with this dirtbag. I can’t tell if she is covering for him, or genuinely just wants to forget it all, but she’s not the guilty party.

  21. FatCircles0311 says:

Look at all these dumb women on the computer box swooning over this shitbag. I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.

  22. USMCE8Ret says:

I think what’s “funny” about the electronic age we live in is that posers like these are leaving such a HUGE electronic footprint of themselves at such an early age – for ALL to see – that they don’t take into consideration that people look for stuff like this – namely, potential employers. Damaged goods.

  23. Chip@NASA says:

    @12 2-17 Air Cav
I totally read that in the Marine voice from RU. LOL!!!

@27. Outrage? No, it’s the daily laugh fix. Do you get outraged by clowns?

  29. DaveO says:

Brashears should have joined the Navy since all he makes are Great Mistakes.

  30. Adirondack Patriot says:

    “I made a 96 on my ASVAB. . . ”

Apparently not on the Language Skills portion.

  31. Nik says:

Oh no. I believe he did. He probably colored those little dots to “make” a 9 and a 6.

  34. TSO says:

@24, yeah would we care, not like he’s stolen money from actual wounded veterans.

    Oh wait.

BTW- Can you show me where we endorsed Romney? I don’t remember that happening.

  35. Anonymous says:

    @33 – 0/10, didn’t read.

    Try paragraphs next time.

  36. Dave says:

So, if I’m tracking this correctly, the “victim” was having an affair with this turd burglar?

  37. Anonymous says:

@34 “BTW- Can you show me where we endorsed Romney? I don’t remember that happening”

The FBI reported an unprecedented number of applications for for restricted guns and ammo following President Obama’s reelection.

    Gee, I wonder why.

  38. Nik says:

Your answer had exactly nothing to do with what was asked.

  39. victim says:

you guys are such bullies. lol…you are all probly past yer prime and can no longer be in the milatary or you never were! lmao

  40. victim says:

so uyou sit around in your little boys clud harrassing other people. btw…you said to try paragraphs next time? well i wasnt sure any of u were intelegent enough to notice;)

  41. melle1228 says:

@39 I don’t know about anyone else, but I never claimed to be in the military and I am certainly in my prime.

Furthermore sweetie, you are a disgrace to our sex and military wifedom… Please go and educate yourself.

  42. Roger in Republic says:

Sort of Off Topic, but I walked into an army recruiter and walked out a coast guardsman. I got out of the army in 1969 in the Seattle area. If you remember the billboard that said “would the last person out please turn off the lights”. Work was nonexistent. In 72 I went down to the recruiting station to see about reenlisting. The recruiter was in Tacoma and his unit, Sixth Army, was located in San Francisco. His pay was always screwed up and he had a very bad attitude. He convinced me that going back into the peacetime army was a mistake. As I was leaving I noticed a Coast Guard recruiter back in a little cubbyhole, and the rest, as they say, is history.

  43. Dave says:

So we are getting moral advice from someone who can’t keep her legs shut?

I’m trying to be nice because, from reading her posts, I suspect she is mentally challenged.

  44. Nik says:

Or someone pretending to be her.

  45. victim says:

and btw to the comment that i was having an affair…dont u start that crap. My husband and i were separated. You guys really need to get a hobby instead of spreading lies. cuz thats not cool. We have been married for 14yrs and we were separated for a short time not that any of you deserve an explanation. My husband is a retired marine due to a horrible accident and he duznt deserve his fellow men dragging our names through the mud plz.

  46. Dave says:

    That is a possibility.

  47. Anonymous says:

    @38 – Sure, you didn’t endorse Romney.

Just like you didn’t vote for Bush Jr…twice.

    You’re a special snowflake conservative.

  48. 2-17 Air Cav says:

I wasn’t in the milatary either, whatever the hell that is.

  49. 2-17 Air Cav says:
