In case you forgot; the Peirs Morgan edition

| December 27, 2012

So we’ve got this fellow from across the pond injecting himself into our most energetic national debates named Peirs Morgan who currently works at CNN. Aside from his recent attempts to influence public opinion in the gun debate, it looks like he also said the other day that we need to amend the Bible along with our Constitution.

There’s movement underway to have his scurvy dog ass deported by petition to the White House. And there’s a counter petition by Brits demanding that we keep his him.

[T]he counter-petition against deporting Morgan reads:

“We want to keep Piers Morgan in the USA.

“There are two very good reasons for this. Firstly, the first amendment.

“Second and the more important point. No one in the UK wants him back.

“Actually there is a third. It will be hilarious to see how loads of angry Americans react.”

So why wouldn’t they want him back. I think a more appropriate question would be “Why would CNN hire him in the first place?” If you’ve forgotten, he was fired as a journalist by the Daily Mirror back in 2004 because he faked pictures of the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment mistreating Iraqi prisoners;

At a news conference in Preston on Friday afternoon, the regiment demonstrated to reporters aspects of uniform and equipment which it said proved the photographs were fake.

The regiment’s Brigadier Geoff Sheldon said the vehicle featured in the photographs had been located in a Territorial Army base in Lancashire and had never been in Iraq.

And Morgan stuck to the lie;

The BBC’s Nicholas Witchell said it appeared Piers Morgan remained unrepentant right to the end

“According to one report Mr Morgan refused the demand to apologise, was sacked and immediately escorted from the building,” he said.

Yeah, Peirs Morgan is a bomb thrower, not a journalist. I think CNN should reconsider the decision to hire Morgan, and then, without a job, his stank ass would have to leave the country. One stone.

  1. Robert says:

Maybe he’ll end up as the Wandering Gentile, unable to find a permanent home in any country. “Move on, thou, likewise!”

  2. 2-17 Air Cav says:

The number of people reading this thread approximates the number who watch Morgan and, for that matter, CNN.

What the hell kind of name is Piers anyway?

  3. USMCE8Ret says:

@2 – To name just a couple, the “Free Dictionary” defines “Piers” as…

    (1) A platform extending from a shore over water and supported by piles or pillars, used to secure, protect, and provide access to ships or boats.

    (2) A supporting structure at the junction of connecting spans of a bridge.

I propose he walk off a short version of #1, or jump off a high vesion of #2.

  4. Sgt Awesome says:

Oh no! He suggested that our Bible, the poorly thrown together, poorly edited, self contradictory, book of ancient, ludicrous fairy tales that are already selectively followed by its believers (I don’t see anyone stoning to death rape victims), be edited? *GASP* Kick that heathen out!

Oh no! He utilized his rights under the First Amendment to discuss amending the very document that gives him that right, we must burn him at the stake! It can never be modified… other than the times that it was… and damnit freedom of speech means you can’t say things we disagree with! Rabble rabble rabble!

If Piers Morgan is not a journalist, but a “bomb thrower” then what he wants is to get a rise out of people like you to get you to talk about him. He just won.

  5. Ex-PH2 says:

‘Piers’ is the medieval form of the name Peter, as in “Piers Plowman”. It means “rock”, the same meaning as Peter. The French version is Pierre.

  6. NHSparky says:

Oh, he can, Sgt. It also means he can get his nuts fed back to him (figuratively speaking, of course.)

I’m thinking of another CNN “journalist” (hell, a few of them) who spread bullshit and ignorant speech who are no longer employed by the network. Why is Piers still there? Because management agrees with him and can at least partially stand behind his rude and idiotic commentary. Not so with Arnett and Sanchez.

  7. 2-17 Air Cav says:

I care about what Piers Morgan thinks. I really do. Really.

  8. kp says:

He came to the US where he knew his lies would be appreciated. I see a Pulitzer Prize in his future.

  9. Ex-PH2 says:

The Brits don’t want him back, either.

  10. Charles says:

He is not to particular about going back either because his name has been tied up with the Mirror’s own portion of the phone hacking scandal that rocked Brit media in the last couple of years before it was replaced by a scandal that has made the PSU and Sandusky thing look absolutely minor in comparison.

As to the bomb throwing thing. Well so are some of the radio talking heads on the conservative side and most reasonable conservatives are willing to admit that one of them talked out his backside on a subject.

If you don’t believe the Bible is the word of God like most believers do, then why believe in it enough to amend it?

Piers Morgan is an idiot who needs to understand the difference between faith and the law.

That being said, Piers can use his “first amendment” right to be an idiot. Just like everyone on this blog uses their first amendment right to call Piers an idiot..

  12. Mr. The Wolf says:

Let’s sweeten the pot and make it a two-fer

We boot his ass back over the pond and he takes Wolf Blitzer with him

  13. Veritas Omnia Vincit says:

Hack reporter who fakes a story, hack judge who fakes emotion on “reality” show, back to hack reporting at a network of hacks…this poor b4stard is trying so hard to remain relevant it would be funny if it weren’t so pathetic…

What’s interesting to me is that this man is a known liar who fakes things for dramatic effect to further his career so that means apparently the green card approval process treats liars the same way SCOTUS does…..

Piers, we threw you f$ckers out of here at gunpoint 236 years ago, trust me when I say we won’t miss you son…but you will miss us….especially since no one will hire you in England…

  14. Athena says:

#6-Remember Eason Jordan @ CNN as well. It seems that scum are all they hire.

  15. Ex-PH2 says:

My question is this: the translation of the bible from Latin to English was ordered by Henry VIII when he broke away from the Church of Rome and formed the Church of England (Episcopal).

Since that’s the case, why does that self-important mushroom, who has nothing useful to say to begin with, think that WE need to revise it, when it comes from HIS native country?

Wouldn’t it be nice if someone went on his idiot-show and told him to shut the frak up? The most obnoxious thing he’s done up to now was when he let Nancy Griffith crawl over the on-set desk and smooch.

Yes, folks, this man is a true and prime example of the species known as bloviating asshole.

  16. B Woodman says:

CNN “A greater hive of scum and villany you will not find in the known universe. . . .”
    Or something like that.

  17. B Woodman says:

Can I compare PM (pre menstral?) with Jabba the Hut? Or would that be unfair to poor Jabba?

  18. Veritas Omnia Vincit says:

Insider stock trading, phone hacking, faking photos, and losing half of Larry King’s already pathetic ratings…

I think Piers is trying to generate some publicity just to keep his job, his ratings are about 60% of MSNBC’s and only a quarter of Fox News….. he is averaging about 430,000 a night but on one night this year he managed to pull in a whopping 39,000 people to watch his show.

As he fades into obscurity these are the last gasps of a fading hypocritical, lying, piece of sh1t tabloid editor…..soon he will join the indomitable Keith Olbermann where they can share stories of how the great right wing conspiracy revealed their obvious to everyone but themselves lack of talent.

    Good riddance to you sir.
