Ed Schultz; “We’ve Never Had a Civilian Stop a Shooting”

| January 12, 2013 | 16 Comments

Yes, the turd actually said that on his Thurseday show. According to The Blaze and Leah Barkoukis at Townhall, Schultz got that from our illiterate friends at Mother Jones, and so soon, we’ll have the trolls stating the same intellectually vacuous crap.

The problem with Mother Jones’ research is that they defined “mass shootings” as four or more people killed. Unfortunately for the Left, armed law-abiding civilians on the scene of shootings has the effect of stopping the shootings before they reach Mother Jones’ minimum standard and skews their “research”.

The Weekly Standard lists several examples, and it’s certainly not a complete list. We here at TAH see examples at least weekly of folks who have saved themselves, their property and their families from gun-wielding criminals.

But why would Mother Jones let the truth get in the way of the agenda?

  2. B Woodman says:

    I.Don’t.Care.Anymore.
Let Kongress and/or Obaomao pass all the laws and executive orders they want.
    Not.One.More.Inch.
My line is drawn, my back is to the wall, my left hand is out, my right hand is on my still holstered pistol.
Your move. Which way ya gonna jump?

  3. UpNorth says:

Well, it is Ed Schultz. He gives our very own Joey Fuckstick a run for first place in the stupid department.

  4. Hondo says:

    What. A. Dumbass.

Obviously Ed “Sgt” Schultz – and Mother Jones – never heard of Koreatown during the LA riots.

Seems to me I recall that a number of the incidents of murder during the LA riots were perpetrated by armed looters. Sounds like a “mass shooting” to me.

This guy really pisses me off. Every morning he is on the TV in the DFAC.

  6. GruntSgt says:

To paraphrase, “round the bowl, down the hole, roll Ed roll.

  7. Contin says:

So by his logic, those holding a gun when a mass shooting starts should wait for the killer to kill 4 people before acting. This story has done nothin but drive the wedge between the sides further.

I am disabled (blew lower back out in the army and now have severe problems just walking) and because of what our knee jerk reaction politicians and President Obama are going to do, I am now busting my ass to get my CCW and weapon purchase done as soon as I can. My wife, who is anti gun, is fully supportive of my decision because, while she may not personally like guns, believes in our constitution.

A major problem with this knee jerk reaction is that if they do pass an unconstitutional law, it would still take 5-7 years for SCOTUS to over turn it. I bring that point up because of crap like this:

  8. bpete says:

Mother Jones ran a story just after Newtown where they did the dots on a map deal for mass shootings and a description of each incident and a friend of mine in Europe linked to the story on Facebook….when I pointed out to my friend that an overwhelming number involved someone with a mental health issue and Mother Jones had an agenda against gun ownership my friend’s friends in Europe took exception and started a comment war that went on for days.
I thought it was a perfect example of leftists and Europeans and their lemming-like thought process that we see exhibited by Shultz, Piers Morgan and the rest of the cliff diving crowd. I say we ship Ed to the UK and let his fat ass get mugged out side of the kebab shack with only his mouth to defend himself…he wouldn’t last a day with the vermin Piers ran his pansy ass away from.

  9. USMCE8Ret says:

So, now the left has actually defined “mass shootings” as any incident where 4 or more people have been killed. Sounds like someone stayed up late to do their “wikipedia” search to come up with that definition, while we all know that’s hardly considered accurate academic research. All this, and we still can’t find a definitive description of what an “assault weapon” is.

In response to #8/bpete (above): Rest in the knowledge that at least you’re still free (for the most part, for now), whereas your european friend likely lives in a socialist state, and is just years away from being over run with radical Islamists.

Ed’s brandishing the same kind of weapons-grade stupidity that led him to bemoan the lack of gun laws in Chicago earlier in the week.

  11. Crucible says:

Duh-how about the CCW’er who stopped the Oregon mall shooting right before Christmas by simply drawing his firearm?

How many more may have died if it wasn’t for this guy?

    http://now.msn.com/nick-meli-who-had-a-concealed-weapon-thought-about-shooting-oregon-mall-killer

  12. Hondo says:

Ah, but Crucible – that one doesn’t count, you see. Only three people were killed in that incident – the perp (who offed himself when confronted by an armed civilian carrying lawfully) and 2 of his 3 victims. The 3rd victim the perp shot survived.

Of course, that’s only because the perp’s rifle jammed after he’d shot the 3rd victim. But hey – what are facts but things to be ignored by liberals trying to “spin” things in their favor?

I’m guessing that particular incident is precisely why Mother Jones chose “4 killed” as their ridiculous limit for what constitutes a “mass shooting”. Had they chosen “3 or more”, this one incident would have invalidated their whole claim.

  13. Green Thumb says:

Would someone tell Ed Schultz to pass the moonshine….

  14. NHSparky says:

    Mmmmmm…good Kool-Aid, Ed?

  15. Devtun says:

Crazy Ed was a Republican once…

  16. Hondo says:

Devtun: that was before his lobotomy.
