Stevens warned Clinton of security concerns hours before death

| January 22, 2013

The Washington Times reports that Ambassador Chris Stevens sent a prescient message to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton hours before he was killed by jihadists at the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya on September 11th last year;

Militia leaders told U.S. officials just two days before the attack that they were angered by U.S. support of a particular candidate for Libyan prime minister and warned “they would not continue to guarantee security in Benghazi, a critical function they asserted they were currently providing,” Stevens wrote in the cable the morning of Sept. 11, 2012. He also cited several other episodes that raised questions about the reliability of local Libya security.

Apparently, this was the last of several warnings that came from the embassy in Libya in the weeks before the tragic death of Stevens and three veterans who tried to protect him.

She will give her standard answer of “I do not recall”, as she has done every time she goes before a congressional committee.

    Damn right wing conspiracies…

“. . . they were angered by U.S. support of a particular candidate for Libyan prime minister. . . ”

In other words, not an anti-Muhammed video.

Obama and Hillary knew this and lied.

  3. NHSparky says:

Yeah, but do you actually think anyone outside the administration, or any journalist will call them out on this?

Again, had this been a Republican president, this would have been page 1, above the fold, ever since the day it happened.

Here we have PROOF that there were MANY higher-ups in the administration which did in fact know this was about to turn to warm runny shit, but did nothing, and when it did, lied their asses off about it.

Somehow Sparky? I don’t think “warm runny shit” comes anywhere close to begin describing it.

Prudence Bushnell the ambassador to Kenya warned Secretary of State of an impending terrorist attack and lax security prior to 1998 bombing which killed 223. Not surprising Susan Rice which is the acting United Nations ambassador was the State Department’s head for Africa which means she would have had to been in the loop knowing about requests for more security including knowing about the specific threat which was offered from a former al qaeda terrorist himself.

It’s a shame we will never know the truth of what happened but anyone who’s paying attention to the dots, negligence is once again front and center from the same turd club as previously.

@#3, if this had been a Republican President, we’d be treated to 9am-5pm daily TV coverage of the hearings into how he’d ignored the warnings, left Americans to die, how the administration covered it up and how, in light of the precedent of Watergate, the President should be impeached, or resign in disgrace.

Move along, nothing to see here.

After weeks and weeks of prep, H. “Wide Load” Clinton says she is ready to testify about Benghazi. I’m so glad she recovered from her curious and untimely illness and reported concussion, aren’t you? And where, I wonder, are those who survived the attack? They’ll be able to set the stage nicely, if anyone thinks to talk with them. Thus far, the only personnel repercussions have been some desk switches at State, I understand, and, of course, there was Ms (Brown)Rice. That freaky posterchild for stupidity would not desist from telling the BIG LIE even after all the others had stopped. So her penalty was to have her name bandied about as the next Secretary of State! What a crew. What an outfit. Four more friggin’ years, minus two.

  9. 2/17 Air Cav says:

Minus two days, not years, I am sorry to say.

What bugs me is that I am being told that I should not be angry because no one is being held accountable for this or for F/F. Are. you. EFFING KIDDING ME??? I am a veteran and a taxpayer and I demand fucking answers to this mess. NO ONE SHOULD BE ABOVE THE LAW. Period.

@10 We’re too far down on the food chain for the truth. We are now simply the money tree in the back yard. We’ve been disenfranchised as citizens.

  12. 2/17 Air Cav says:

Yep, the BIG ISSUE of the day is whether at the faux inauguration, some singer lip-synched the National Anthem! I guess that this monumental story will remain on page one and lead off the national news (which I do not watch) until the next American Idol is crowned or another Hollywooden idiot says something oh-so-profound about guns and the 2nd Amendment. Not Fast & Furious. Not Benghazi. Not anything of import. So, on behalf of the dwindling number of Americans who have their still sitting atop their shoulders, I offer this: Who Gives a #@!!$$$###^5543!!!!!

You probably guessed the accidentally omitted word in cmt 12: heads. I’ll leave it to you to fill in the intentionally omitted word or words.

Nothing will happen so long as the press does not report anything other than Madam Secretary was pressganged by the TEA Party and their witlness GOP allies into given testimony on a minor territorial dispute in one of the new democracies in Africa.

So long as the press never reports, nothing can happen if the GOP follows the law.
