Adam Kokesh meets the “Million Moms”

| January 27, 2013 | 15 Comments

Adam Kokesh sends us his video foray into the crowd at a “Million Moms” march for gun control in Washington, DC. He’s asking for a conversation and all he gets in return is platitudes;

I think it’s fairly funny that Adam meets the same kind of people I met when I went to the anti-war rallies last decade. They seem to irritate him as much as they irritated me. He says something about slogans not being effective, but he engaged in the same type of thing during his IVAW years.

But, yeah, the point comes through – no one on that side is interested in having a discussion. We’re supposed to just agree with them and shut up.

A report on the march from Time Magazine;

Once the crowd arrived at the monument, speakers called for a ban on military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition and for universal background checks on gun sales.

Education Secretary Arne Duncan told the crowd it’s not about taking away Second Amendment gun rights, but about gun safety and saving lives. He said he and President Barack Obama would do everything they could to enact gun control policies.

“This is about trying to create a climate in which our children can grow up free of fear,” Duncan said. “This march is a starting point; it is not an ending point … We must act, we must act, we must act.”

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D.C.’s non-voting representative in Congress, said the gun lobby can be stopped, and the crowd chanted back, “Yes, we can.”

“We are all culpable if we do nothing now,” Norton said

James Agenbroad, 78, of Garrett Park, Md., carried a handwritten sign on cardboard that read “Repeal the 2nd Amendment.” He called it the only way to stop mass killings because he thinks the Supreme Court will strike down any other restrictions on guns.

“You can repeal it,” he said. “We repealed prohibition.”

Funny he should mention Prohibition – that amendment made a previously legal product illegal, too. Odd thing about the Democrats – they find all sorts of stuff in the Bill of Rights that isn’t there, but when they can’t, well it’s time to repeal the amendments that are in there to protect the minority from the majority’s tyranny.

And they’re not in the majority anyway. The Million Moms Facebook page (where the little club started according to Huffington Post) had 47,000 fans this morning – that’s .0016% of Americans.

A Million Moms will turn out to be as far from a million as the Million Man march was.

  2. JC says:

Well Secretary Duncan, I thought that’s why schools were made “gun free zones”, because we know that criminals will obey ALL the laws of the land. Right?

  3. UpNorth says:

@#1, you’re right, The Million Moms March was a march of hundreds.
And, again, WTF is “high capacity ammunition”?

  4. dnice says:

It’s scary how much i enjoyed Adam’s video and that I agreed with most of it.

    Weird times man weird times.

  5. Hondo says:

UpNorth: what’s high capacity ammo? Geez, don’t you know anything? That’s ammo that’s, well, um, got high capacity! You know, the really dangerous stuff!

(For the benefit of the humor-deprived: yes, I’m being sarcastic above. Sadly, some of the gun-control crowd would make exactly that kind of statement.)

@4. Your comment prompted me to click the arrow. I lasted about 15 seconds total. I don’t blame you, though. I’m a big boy. I should have known better.

You know I know that “the Million X March” makes for a snappy headline, but even if a million individuals did show up (they almost never do) it isn’t all that impressive in context. Heck it’s less than one-third of one percent of the population and would be made up primarily of those from close by D.C. and so not really representative of the nation at large. It’s a propaganda stunt and it’s grown lame.

  8. Just an Old Dog says:

Any validity of any cause gathering one million people together to protest at the nation’s capitol is completely shot by the fact that well over 90% of them are there simply because they have no job or responsibilty, hence they have the time to wave signs and flap their suck holes.

  9. DaveO says:

    Zombies are real.

  10. FatCircles0311 says:

    lol

Did he tell them he was caught trying to illegally import firearms into the country? He should have, just to watch their heads explode.

The biggest march in the country that occurs every year is the March For Life, yet the obsolete media ignores it entirely as though hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of people never showed up. Who knew that protesting the murder of millions of children without any due process rights would be such a non issue in American especially for Libtards who live and die by the courts, due process, and their anti death penalty stance.

  11. FatCircles0311 says:

Even if their “million” march had a million people against the 2nd amendment there are only over 200+ million firearms owned privately by American Citizens to begin with. I guess their .03% asinine minority simply negates the United States Bill of Rights for all. Only in America.

  12. Swampfox46 says:

Yeah….it took me all of about ten minutes to get banned from their Facebook page for trying to point out facts about firearms in our country…..

  13. B Woodman says:

Someone else will have to look up the source of this quote:
“If 50,000 people say a stupid thing, it is still a stupid thing.”

  14. semper says:

Anyone else kinda get turned on by Kathleen Turners husky Chardonnay scented voice?

  15. cannoncocker says:

So, first I see Kokesh’s video where he made an ass of himself to SSG Bob, and then I see this, and he’s doing pretty good in this one. I don’t know what to believe anymore! *sarc*
