Sandy Hook Explained…

| February 1, 2013

Our pal CJ put this up on FB. I don’t want this to go un-noticed.
The ugliest truth about Sandy Hook

Guns are part of the right-wing lunatic fringe of fear, the Obama-loathing, government-hating, minority-despising, science-scoffing quarter of Americans existing in a shadowy permanent grief state over the 1950s, over a white-bread America where they were king that never was and never will be. Guns are the talismans that ward off change in the world, that protect them from all their stalking fears, the wand of hope that someday society will indeed break down — isn’t it fracturing already, with gay marriage? — and they will assume their rightful place as unquestioned kings once more, with their AK-47s set proudly on their kingly hips and their freeze-dried meals nourishing them through the long night of the tardy Mayan zombie apocalypse.

Aside: This IS from Chicago?  And I have read and re-read this article looking for a hint of irony.

High-capacity clips? Gun checks? Mass shootings? Slaughters like Newtown catch our fleeting attention, but they are only the daily gun death toll concentrated in one spot at one time. The problem is handguns.

There you have it TAH readers.

I couldn’t help but notice that on the original article, comments have been disabled.

Could it be that that article is more fucked up than a bag of steaming dicks and they don’t need anyone pointing it out to them?

  2. MAJMike says:

Its my understanding that firearms rank as the number three cause of death in the United States. Swimming pools and automobiles kill more people than firearms.

If you don’t choose to own a firearm, don’t buy one. If you own one, be as expert as possible with it. However, I don’t see why I should be punished because someone else breaks the law.

Its all about control. Its not about hunting. Remember, kids, politicians prefer to deal with unarmed peasants.

  3. Country Singer says:

Saul Alinsky would be so proud!

OK, snark off. That column was the biggest bunch horse hockey I have ever seen in (digital) print. The irony is, these jack-offs can’t figure out why they (newspapers) are mostly teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. The great American humanitarian Egon Spengler was ahead of his time when he declared back in 1984, “Print is dead.”

  4. OWB says:

What can you expect? Armed good guy in a school in the most violent neighborhood of Atlanta when unarmed bad guy shoots –> one injury, no deaths of students, teachers or gunman/boy. No armed good guys in school in comfortable northeastern neighborhood when armed bad guy shoots —> dozens of children, teachers and gunman killed and injured.

And we DO NOT want to consider the possibility that armed good guys reduce deaths and injuries in schools? Sure, those are the people with sane solutions to the problem of violence in this country! Not.

  5. A Proud Infidel says:

The stupid prick that wrote that article is definitely full of himself, and would drool at the though of confiscation while he keeps his armed guards!

  6. OWB says:

errr – #4 would say what I wanted it to say if the “unarmed bad guy” in the second line read “armed bad guy” instead.

  7. RunPatRun says:

I tried to read it, all I got was baa baa baa.

  8. Just an Old Dog says:

What a loon. With freaks like this flapping their C#$$k-holsters there is no way there could be an intelligent conversation on controlling (gun) violence.

  9. FatCircles0311 says:

The intolerant, hateful, anti constitutional, anti American left emerges from it’s disguise.

  10. NHSparky says:

Perhaps, as the decades roll on, people will become dimly aware that guns are the problem. Perhaps not.

No, Mister Jackwagon Self-Righteous Douchetool, guns are NOT the problem. Guns are the TOOL, a means to an ends in the sick, twisted, anti-social mind of those who would wield it to exact terror, revenge, or any of a hundred other fucked up motives. Just like a car can be (and is all too often) a weapon in the hands of someone less than capabale of grasping reality or acting responsibly, guns, like anything else in this world, can be misused/abused.

    You may go now.

  11. Hondo says:

    1. A gun is merely a tool.

    2. Any tool can be used for either good or evil.

    3. When it’s used for evil, a fool blames the tool. Those with intelligence blame the user.

  12. James says:

Well lets see what we’ve got here, “kingly hips”, ooh some strange issues. ” Guns are the talismans that ward off change in the world, that protect them from all their stalking fears, the wand of hope that someday society will indeed break down — isn’t it fracturing already,” missed a lot of English Lit. class. Well so much more and so little space I’ll have to sum up with a personal note, ahem CJ if you’re going to write a polemic try making it coherent and somewhat understandable.

  13. James #13: Sorry dude. You seem to have missed the link.

  14. Hondo says:

James: I think you missed something, fella. Like the fact that CJ didn’t write that crap, for starters.

It was written by a idiot named Neil Steinberg and ran on the Chicago Sun-Times web page. Following the link identifies that fact quite clearly.

I think you owe CJ an apology.

  15. B Woodman says:

    Holy Shit!
Either Teh Stupid is strong with this one, or the irony and snarc are so thick I couldn’t break thru to find it. Somehow I more suspect the former.
One could write an entire Doctoral PhD thesis fisking this one.

  16. Redacted1775 says:

Good lord. Such an irrational fear of an inanimate object.

  17. cannoncocker says:

Mr. Steinberg, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

  18. James says:

My apologies CJ. Should have read more before shooting my mouth off!

  19. Just Plain Jason says:

I don’t know why liberals want us to be so much like Europe, what kind of example have they set over the last century?

  20. Andy says:

reminds me of an article in a local free “paper” i picked up to read while waiting on my food. someone that sounds alot like this guy wrote a very angry sounding story about how “traditional vales” ment straight white men coming home and beating their wife and kids and keeping minorities down. I guess you can’t fix stupid.

  21. USMCE8Ret says:

What the…? Is going on now?

  22. WkAvngr211 says:

Yup he’s right. Handguns are the problem. Well actually illegally obtained and used handguns. As well as illegally obtained and used rifles, submachineguns, and assault weapons. That is the part they always fail to understand. It seems that the very first word anyone of liberal bent discards from their vocabulary is the word “illegal”. As in “illegal” firearms, “illegal” immigration and so on.

  23. Raoul Duke says:

Agreed….comments not allowed on this steaming pile of dung journalism?

  24. Lobster says:

Look up this douches Twitter. Just another snarky, better than everyone progressive.

  25. Marc says:

So let me see if I’ve got this straight. Chicago has the strongest gun control in the US, and the highest firearm violence rates. But the reason that the author isn’t getting his way with even MORE gun control is the “right-wing lunatic fringe”, who “wash their faces every morning in the blood of freshly slain children”.

Okay, first of all, F U you arrogant, psychotic lunatic.

Now, this insane jackwagon’s rant is that the “right-wing lunatic fringe” are to blame for firearm violence because they won’t see the truth, apparently. Because they can’t get past their steadfast, unquestioned belief system to see the root cause.

Let me say that first part again. Chicago has the strongest gun control in the US, and the highest firearm violence rates.

Exactly WHO can’t get past their steadfast, unquestioned belief system to see the root cause, again?

  26. A Proud Infidel says:

Steinberg, like 99.99999% of all liberals, is an example of the type of person that Ron White must have been thinking of when he said “No matter what you try, YOU CAN’T FIX STUPID, stupid is forever!”

  27. Ex-PH2 says:

Steinberg’s incoherent rant is a prime example of the reason you should not write things when you’re crocked, and should definitely not publish them.

Even Jackson Pollack knew enough to sober up before he picked up a brush.

  28. streetsweeper says:

That writer er reporter er whatever he is, is in dire need of attending a class that is long, thorough and drives home the parts of a firearm. Dumbass doesn’t know what a magazine is, throwing around that word “clip” like its…hell I don’t know.

  29. Claymore says:

I propose an experiment…a highly publicized arming and training of citizens in the worst neighborhood in Chicago. I’m guessing that within a month, you’d see significant changes in the homicide rate and other criminal activity, with the obvious exception of a few cases where dumbasses will be dumbasses.

  30. Hondo says:

Not sure I’d select the worst neighborhood, Claymore – some/most of the really bad ones are likely populated with few who aren’t drug dealers, crackheads, or gangbangers. Not sure I want to give those groups any more freebies of any kind, much less firearms.

However, if you can find a neighborhood that has a reasonable population and is looking to clean up its act and become safer – then hell yes. I say lets give it a shot (yes, the pun was intentional).

Of course, the libidiot leadership in both Chicago and IL won’t. They know it will prove them wrong on this issue, so they won’t chance it. And law-abiding citizens will continue to die in droves because they’re denied the means to defend themselves against low-life criminals.

  31. Joe says:

One need look no further than the denizens of this site to confirm that author’s point.

  32. Hondo says:

Offer still stands, Joe. Don’t like the US Constitution? Well, you don’t have to live here. Emigrate and renounce your citizenship. I’ll help pay for your ticket once I’ve seen proof of both.

  33. JP says:

I’ll bet we could all chip in for Joe boy’s one way ticket to a country that functions more like he’d prefer…say, North Korea?

  34. Hondo says:

JP: lord knows I’ve tried. I’ve had a standing offer to him to defer part of his airfare once he provided proof of travel and renunciation of US citizenship for a couple of months now.

He doesn’t seem interested. He’d rather stay here and be a “free rider”.

  35. cannoncocker says:

Joe prefers to be part of the problem. It’s easier and requires less work. Plus, complaining about stuff is one of his strengths. Just don’t ask him to come up with a viable solution, that’s too hard.

  36. 68W58 says:

cannoncocker-it’s the same with all lefties. They don’t know what a perverse incentive is and refuse to acknowledge the law of unintended consequences (see, for example, welfare and the deterioration of the 2 parent black family). For them good intentions trump actual results.

Lefties are outraged about everything, but responsible for nothing. They are perpetual adolescents who want “freedom” so long as they have daddy to foot the bill-Joe is a perfect example.

  37. DefendUSA says:

Just sub lib or dem in their respective places and…a few other choice words and you can see the idiot Steinberg hasn’t a clue about how stupid he is.

“No, we are **Democrats**, we the **liberals**, a people of action. We address our problems, or ***at least pretend to***. So if a disturbed young man can take a ***gun*** and walk into a school and slaughter kids, then we need **to pretend be outraged and get more guns banned in CT.”***

“we are not dealing with rational people. Guns are part of the left-wing lunatic fringe of fear, the **conservative** loathing, government-**loving**, minority-**loving liars**, **truth**-scoffing quarter of Americans existing in an **immature** state of mind over racism, over a **rich evil**America where they want to ***anoint OBama king but that won’t be and never will be**. Guns are the **tools** that ward off **the tyrants, the criminals** in the world, but that distract others from **what their Messiah is proposing to do** waving the wand of hope that someday society **will crown him as global leader**— isn’t it happening already, with gay marriage? — and they will assume their rightful place as **unquestioning subjects once more**, with their **noses set to proudly sniff** on their king’s **ass** while **inhaling some freeze-dried dope which will naturally make their fantasies seem all the more appealing*** and nourishing them through the ***long period of Breads and circuses to come. And it will come!!***

  38. DefendUSA says:

My bad…****means**** I changed the words!

  39. A_Proud_Infidel says:

@34JP: If Boy Joe doesn’t like cold weather, I suggest we send him to Cuba instead!

  40. Ex-PH2 says:

    @Defend: Hooah!

I just wonder how many times this country will be physically attacked before these placid cows wake up. Or for that matter, realize that their freedom isn’t free.

  41. Ex-PH2 says:

“Even among the president’s supporters, one is hard put now to find anyone who doesn’t recognize that Mr. Obama’s original appeal to hope and change has given way to search and destroy… The original argument for the Obama presidency was that this was a new, open-minded and liberal man, intent on elevating the common good. No one believes that now.” – Daniel Henninger, Wall Street Journal, January 31, 2013.
