Double murder in Texas
Someone just called us to tell us about a double murder in Erath County, Texas. I called the Sheriff Department and confirmed that there was a crime, but they’re not releasing names, so I’m not going to do that either, especially since I can’t confirm it, but apparently, one of the victims is someone whose name we all know. But, don’t speculate, you’ll be wrong.
The purpose for this post is to get eyes on the shooter. The local news says;
Police are on the lookout for a large four door Ford pickup that is high off the ground and is entirely covered in Rhino Liner. There is a skull sticker in the back window.
Erath County Sheriff Tommy Bryant has put out the word that the suspect is armed and extremely dangerous. Do not approach the vehicle if you spot it. Call 911.
Someone else adds that it’s Ford F350 Super Duty. Police say it might be headed towards Hamilton County, TX, so if you see the truck, call police. They think that the driver is “highly trained” – so use your phone.

Damn, goes to show that none of us know when, or how, we’ll go out. I was driving around reflecting (’bout to head to Afghanistan, second deployment but first since the invasion of Iraq) when I checked the blog and saw this. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. From what I’ve been reading the suspect hasn’t been caught yet; hopefully they go down soon without taking any other lives.

@10 Suspect has been arrested in Lancaster, TX.

Just saw your post as soon after I clicked “submit”. That’s good, found his (Routh’s) Mylife says he was at Camp Lejeune in 2009 and arrested for DWI last January.

Well that’s a damn shame. Everything I know about Chris Kyle says that he’s a good, decent human being and fine war fighter. I’m very saddened to hear this news. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Probably a mix between crazy war vets and guns are bad….mkay….
February 3rd, 2013 at 1:03 am
Too late, fellows. There’s already calls tonight for anyone with PTSD to be stripped of any weapons they might own or have access to.
February 3rd, 2013 at 1:13 am
@20 exactly my thoughts…
February 3rd, 2013 at 1:27 am

R.I.P. Chris, you’ll never be forgotten.
February 3rd, 2013 at 1:41 am
I am just heartbroken. To have survived so much and to have helped so many people, just to be killed like this, unbelievable.
My condolences to his family and friends.
February 3rd, 2013 at 2:09 am
Just so sad and senseless.
February 3rd, 2013 at 2:55 am
Reading through the comments section of the HuffPo article and the anti-gun zealots are having trouble containing their excitement. A lot of “Live by the gun, die by the gun” and “If only Chris Kyle had a gun to defend himself, hurrdy hurr.” He’s just another convenient grave to stand on for them. Those people have no shame, and of course they’re also using this to make the case that the “crazed vets” with PTSD are just ticking timebombs who don’t deserve protection under the Second Amendment.
Sickening.
America lost one of her best tonight. RIP, Chris.
February 3rd, 2013 at 6:47 am
RIP, Chris, you will be missed.
As for the anti-gun bastards that are dancing on his grave for their cause…………fuck you.
That’s all I’m gonna say.
February 3rd, 2013 at 7:31 am
Fuck!
February 3rd, 2013 at 8:12 am
RIP Chief.
February 3rd, 2013 at 8:38 am
Call me a cynic, but I say it’s a hit, not just a murder by some mother fucker who can shoot. Goddammnit!!
February 3rd, 2013 at 8:42 am
RIP, Chris. Your job is done.
February 3rd, 2013 at 9:07 am
Chris is being remembered by Fox and Friends. Fmr SEAL Team 6 sniper Howard Wasdin was interviewed this morning and he was well aquainted with fellow sniper and SEAL Chris Kyle…just disbelief and sadness. FNC reported Chris earned 2 silver and 5 bronze stars from numerous engagements w/ the enemy…to get shot in the back and killed by a vet that he was trying to help is sickening.

My nephew got me his book for Christmas, autographed and personalized. That he would take the time to sign it really showed a lot of class. RIP.
