FBI interupts terrorist attack in Oakland

| February 9, 2013 | 9 Comments

SFGate reports that the FBI thwarted an attack on a bank in Oakland by 28-year-old Matthew Aaron Llaneza yeaterday who had hoped to start a war;

A mentally disturbed man who said he believed in violent jihad and hoped to start a civil war in the United States was arrested early Friday after trying to detonate what he thought was a car bomb at a Bank of America branch in Oakland, prosecutors said.

I’m pretty sure that everyone who believes in violent jihad is mentally disturbed, including all of those 6th century shitbags in the middle east. The FBI says that they have been watching Llaneza since he was released from jail where he’d been serving time for weapons charges and they explain why he was arrested;

On Thursday night, agents said, Llaneza drove an SUV from the storage unit, hauling a dozen 5-gallon buckets of chemicals, prepared by the FBI to look like explosives, to a parking lot in Union City, where he assembled the bomb in the agent’s presence.

He then drove to the bank, parked the SUV under an overhang near a support column of the building, retreated on foot to a safe distance, and pressed an FBI-constructed cell phone triggering device that was supposed to ignite the bomb, the FBI said. Agents them moved in and arrested him.

They can call him “mentally disturbed” all they want, but if he assembled the bomb, he knew what he was doing. I hope the FBI keeps the pressure on these guys, and I have a feeling that they’re going to be busy in the next few years. Sooner or later, though, one of these guys are going to get lucky.

  1. It is too bad that the FBI didn’t light off a “Flashbang” behind him just as he set off the bomb. Just a little teaser to get him stirred up.
    When will the “other side” come out with the “FBI set him up” story? To me, anyone who would allow themselves to be set up, continuing to go along, would be as guilty as if they’d dreamed it all up on their own.

    Would have been better if the cell was wired to call in a drone strike on the little booger eater’s position. You know, cause it’s legal now and all…. :|

    Thing is, when you read the whole thing, he (the idjit terrorist) says that he wanted the bomb to look like it was set off by a right-wing, anti-government “militia”. He was hoping that the government would then crack down on them, the militias would resist and we’d be into a civil war in no time.

    We all need to understand that virtually every single one of these attacks, including mass-murders/killings of the past 10 years, have been by leftists, folks who are trying to destabilize the country, and would be happy to try and cover their actions by blaming it on conservatives.

    We’re easy targets right now, and vigilance must be our new watchword.

    Fortunately, “false flag” operations seem to have been limited to the Lib-Cong. All of us need to be cautious in what we say and do. Especially be vigilant and report any attempts to lure us into some kind of action against an “oppressive national Government”.

    Remember, Big Sis doesn’t like us either.

    Most all of us, herein, took an oath to defend the Constitution. I’m sure that we all believe that this oath is still good.

    If you vocalize you opinions of “dear leader” and his crew and someone offer to help you, ask to see their credentials or badge.

    In fairness, Jonn, the 7th century jihadists did get on a pretty good roll. If not for a guy named Charles Martel (later nicknamed the Hammer) in what would later be France, Islam might have run the table in Europe.

    Lone Wolf will be the future.
    If anyone offers to “help” you – stop, run, do not walk – to the nearest exit, and keep on going.
