Harry Reid blames Hawthorne deaths on sequester

| March 19, 2013

So today, Harry Reid blames the sequester for the deaths of seven Marines at the Hawthorne Nevada depot explosion overnight. From our buddy, the Gateway Pundit;

I guess somehow because training funds aren’t available, those Marines forgot what to do and exploded themselves. Nice Harry. Former Congressman Allen West writes on Facebook;

I am thoroughly disgusted by Sen. Harry Reid’s attempt to use the tragic deaths overnight of 7 US Marines in a training incident in NV for political purposes, suggesting they are somehow related to the sequester. It is precisely this kind of disgraceful behavior that justifiably earns Congress utter disdain from the American public, and on behalf of my fellow Americans, I demand Sen. Reid immediately apologize to the families of these fallen heroes and their fellow Marines.

You know what they say: Once an asshat, always an asshat.

  2. Twist says:

    That didn’t take long.

  3. Flagwaver says:

So, by his logic, all bullets will now explode in rifle barrels and all blanks will now fire live. All military will be reduced to High School freshman level of discipline and training and, no doubt, will begin fighting in the barracks and raping each other.

    Did I miss anything?

  4. OWB says:

We already know that he’s an idiot and has no shame. Must he keep proving it over and over again??

  5. Rabak Kabar says:

What a douchenozzle. Unbelievable, and those citizens from his state keep electing him and whats worse, chuckie schumer is waiting in the wings to replace him, should he ever lose his place. We are running out of options. The first court appearance for the first person arrested under the SAFE act here in New York is tomorrow moring.

  6. Rabak Kabar says:

Gosh, I must of missed a key, morning.

  7. kp32 says:

I’m sure he went on to point out that sequester was the brainchild of the POTUS & staff.

  8. Ex-PH2 says:

Never miss an opportunity to blame something. Was he pointing out the problem with his middle finger again?

  9. JBS says:

So, let me see if I have this even somewhat right. Because there hasn’t been an agreement with the budget in four years, the POTUS was forced to implement sequestration. Because of sequestration, there are training shortfalls. And due to the shortfalls people are hurt or worse and others may be in danger. And now, somehow, this is a “Look at what you Republicans made us do” thingy?

What a maroon. Everybody knows it’s Bush’s fault.

After all, Bush is in cahoots with Cheney, who is a partner with Brown & Root, who built the ammo dumps where the rounds were supposed to be stored. Due to shotty work, the rounds became exposed to the elements, which led to instability and hence the explosion. /SARC/

    Unbelieveable. Fuck Harry Reid.

  12. DaveO says:

I haven’t seen an article that describes what happened – poor procedure, faulty materials, or whatever. Just an explosion, lots of regrets, and a senatorial asshat scoring points.

  13. A Proud Infidel says:

Cutbacks and more cutbacks to the US Military, but Reid, part of B. Hussein 0bama & Co., WILL NOT spare one cent when it comes to their pay, perks, and luxuries. There is NO low that the left will not stoop to when it comes to pandering in front of news cameras!

  14. Stacy0311 says:

douchebag, asshat, moron. All seem inadequate to describe this level of ignorance. From now on whenever someone does or says something monumentally stupid, it shall be known as “pulling a Harry Reid”

  15. PintoNag says:

God save us from diarrhea-of-the-mouth-and-constipation-of-the-brain politicians!

  16. PintoNag says:

…and I was going to give Reid some points for the assault weapon ban boot, too. Shame.

  17. ohio says:

What a puke, scumbag, dickweed asshole. Since the dumbasses of Nevada keep electing this piece of human excrement, I will never go to Vegas.

  18. Ex-PH2 says:

One-half step forward (no gun ban), four steps backward (Hawthorne).

    At least, he’s consistent.

  19. Veritas Omnia Vincit says:

    Wait, in grammar school they explained the process as follows;

Step 1: The President submits a budget request to Congress

Step 2: The House and Senate pass budget resolutions

Step 3: House and Senate Appropriations subcommittees “markup” appropriations bills

Step 4: The House and Senate vote on appropriations bills and reconcile differences

Step 5: The President signs each appropriations bill and the budget becomes law

Now the president has been in power since 2009 with a democratic majority until 2011, and hasn’t passed a budget so how is this just the republicans again? I’m not counting the April 2009 omnibus as that wasn’t really a budget.

Actually if you look at it the last actual budget that passed was in 1997 with Clinton and Gingrich doing some actual bi-partisan work….since then continuing resolutions….so with mostly republican congresses during the late 90s we were able to get budgets passed….and not since…interesting…so Dems and Repubs have just abdicated their responsibilities for the last 14 years or so….

I nominate Reid to safety test all ammunition Bugs Bunny style(about 2:40 in)

  21. FatCircles0311 says:

What a despicable scumfuck. I’m not surprised the party of moral waivers was so quickly to make their heart be known, but it’s still disgusting.

  22. batteryclerk says:

Harry Reid is the smallest in a fraternity of very small men.

  23. Devtun says:

Well who’s idea was it for Sequestration? According to esteemed journalist Bob Woodward, it was the Emperor’s former Chief of Staff and now Treasury Secy Jack Lew…and Barry signed off on it. Hairy go back to the Bunny Ranch.

  24. CavRick says:

    Sorry sack of snake shit.

  25. James says:

Honestly, it’s Harry Reid what did you expect. Though you have called him every name in the book (all true I may add), that just means you’ve read his autobiography.

  26. SEAhorse says:

I’m sure the whole less then a month long sequester has already affected those mortarmens training. I know my Bravo trigger finger is really feeling the cuts. What a fucking turd of a polititian. Who votes for these piece of shit vultures?
