Wikipedia phony SEAL/Iraq Vet.

| April 6, 2013

I found this on Wikipedia after looking on the site for orphan photos that needed to be sorted.

This person states that he is a Navy SEAL with the rank of SFC. Must be that non-existent merger between that the Navy and the Army that no one heard about. Oh when I said rank he got it and he is still in his teens? Yea and he got promoted to SFC to on the first day. Yep real hard charger there.

SO, to everyone else that is not a E-7 after leaving reception may want to ask is the military really a good fit for you. But in all seriousness this this is the line that really set this article off.

He first war is Iraq War and during the battle, he got shot Wounded in leg and arm. Medics bring Madison rushed to base and get healed.

I do not care what game you are playing, video or airsoft, playing at being wounded and to give the impression that it is real is wrong regardless of his age. I contacted a admin on Wikipedia and the short story is that he is a kid just having fun and to leave it be. The worst part is that the Admin is Military also.

(He) has some lofty aspirations. But it is not stolen valor

Becoming a Navy SEAL is a aspiration, getting shot in the arm and leg in combat is not. I do not see how this is not taking away from those who are really injured in combat. Also it seems that one of his photo that he uploaded was taken by someone else of what could be someone else.

Sounds like the groundwork for Ego-surfing.

  2. A_Proud_Infidel says:

*WHOOO!!* I couldn’t quit laughing at this one, I wonder if he did secret missions in Paprika with “Colonel” Crotchrot? Has he offered to show anyone the Luger he says he took from a dead VC in downtown Baghdad?

  3. Green Thumb says:

  4. Nichevo says:

Probably the same medics who treated George Zipp after he was shot down over Macho Grande…

  5. Anonymous says:

You realize that page can be edited by anyone. I say have at it.

  6. B Woodman says:

    O-M-G!!!! W-T-Ever-Bloody-F!!!???
The douchebags just keep coming out of the woodwork faster and faster, and their stories keep getting weirder and weaker.
If I wasn’t sitting in an chair with arms to hold me in, I’d be on the floor with laughter.

    Where does this D-B live?

  7. Rob says:

Agree with #5, we could have fun.

  8. Bewins says:

I took the opportunity to edit the first few lines for him.
“Guilty of Stolen Valor and Egregious spelling and grammar, the remainder of this article is utter baloney by a phony, wannabe loser Madison live in Boston, Massachusetts with hes older brothers Jimmy Madison and Raptor (a airsoft player), and hes father Eric Madison. Madison goes to West Springfield High School and Graduate. At age of 17, he join the United States Army.”

  9. Ex-PH2 says:

    What? Military Servies?

And here I thought there were only Secret Squirrel Servies!

    What did I know?

  10. JP says:

I edited it too, but they changed it already. Here’s a screen shot.

  11. Sporkmaster says:

If your looking to see the records of any changes they can be found here.

  12. Green Thumb says:

    A vertical smile.

  13. Bewins says:

Well my edit was short lived. I received this msg “Hello, I’m Srich32977. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to User:Danny “Frost” Madison because it didn’t appear constructive. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Just leave it as is. It appears that user is a kid — as such he doesn’t need such commentary from strangers”

    I tried.

  14. ComancheDoc says:

wow, time to edit a wiki…

  15. Rob says:

    Here’s hes Facebook page:

Sporkmaster: Here is the positive ID.

  16. Anonymous says:

#5 kinda like the moderators on this fucked up website, you’re all a bunch of hypocrites.

  17. Lobster says:

Oh Oh, we have an “anonymous” tough guy!!!

  18. Sporkmaster says:

No not true, if you want to write something we are not going to edit it or delete it. The fact that your comment is still up 16# should be proof that.

  19. Green Thumb says:

    Your a hair pie.

    I love the old school.

  20. ANCCPT says:

I don’t think this qualifies as a legitimate SV candidate. Judging by the content, syntax and sentence structure, it’s highly unlikely English is even his first language. The whole thing just looks and feels like some kid overly influenced by and enamored with Modern Warfare and Ghost Recon. Save your ammo, fellas. He’s just emulating his games, albeit it in a rather odd manner. This isn’t intended to deceive; He’s just a kid.

  21. Rerun0369 says:

Gonna have to say, this one is probably not that big of a deal. I seriously doubt anybody is going to read his user profile entry and actually believe this kid is in the military. There are much bigger fish to fry, sub-human trash taking advantage of a naive population claiming obviously false military service. I say we worry about those guys, not high school kids dicking around on the net.

  22. ANCCPT says:

Anonymous: Not hypocrites; just very, very protective of the accolades and honors we and our brothers in arms earned. We won’t let people lie to the public about their service, as we don’t lie about our services here.
We also don’t delete opposing viewpoints here. We welcome them, typically as long as they are respectful and willing to debate civilly. We also recognize what is/are legitimate targets for our collective focus…This kid gets a raised eyebrow, but that’s about it. There are far more serious boneheads out there lying about their service than this kid.

  23. Sporkmaster says:

Perhaps but I would rather catch and release the small ones before they turn into the big ones beyond all hope of changing their ways. Also can you imagine having to explain to people that you know for 40 plus years that your entire life has been a lie.

  24. A_Proud_Infidel says:

#16, He asked for it the moment he posted that odiferous mass quantity of excreta, and now he’s getting it! Hear that? Yes, it’s your Mommy calling for you, she just made you a peanut butter & jelly sandwich and some Kool-Aid. If you’ve been a good little boy, you can have a cookie later on. There you go, ‘ATSA GOOOD LITTLE BOY!!

  25. Ex-PH2 says:

I’d clamp down on him, and tell him to pick some other service, like the Space Sappers or the Full Frontal Bug Frakkers. You know — something creative. Stop copying the real military and make up his own military. Then you’ll get off his back.

  26. Ex-PH2 says:

I’m sorry. That should be Full Frontal Bug Snoggers.

  27. NSOM says:

This is the embarrassing story of a kid who plays too many video games and doesn’t speak English as his first language.

This isn’t Stolen Valor. It’s Stolen Free Time.

  28. A_Proud_Infidel says:

Maybe he could wake up and cease his parade of idiocy, but like one of my Mentors once said, “You can’t help a fool.”.

  29. Miss Ladybug says:

I would probably agree with the “English probably isn’t his first language”, but some native speakers just are that atrocious with grammar…

  30. Ex-PH2 says:

I don’t think he speaks any language as his first language. He is functionally illiterate, a prime sample of our sloppola educational system.

  31. fm2176 says:

This kid is only a year older than my daughter. Personally, I think it is harmless “role-play” type stuff, though I can understand Sporkmaster’s concern about this growing into SV as the young man enters adulthood.

When I was his age–maybe a little younger–I used to wear my older brother’s BDUs and run around the woods playing war. This isn’t too much different, but the internet age has allowed this kid to embarass himself (maybe not now, but I wonder how he’ll feel in a few years when a girlfriend pulls up this site or an archived Wiki entry). Also, while I was perfectly content running around shooting BB guns and throwing acorns at my friends who played Soviets, this kid has super highspeed video game characters to emulate.

My son is a few years younger and takes the rank of “SGT” for his online game playing. If he pulls a stunt like this I’d probably talk to him, but at the end of the day I consider it no harm, no foul.

  32. Lobster says:

Whatever it is, it’s still fun fucking with the Wiki page. I did it all up and it was changed back within minutes.

  33. NSOM says:

    re #31

Sometimes children act like children and adults should respond accordingly.

  34. fm2176 says:

Forgot to add, my daughter went through a phase where she was guilty of “stolen celebrity”. It seems pretty popular for young pre-teen and teenage girls to set up Facebook and other social media pages posing as Selena Gomez or other celebrities. This kid is just “stealing” the identity of a video game character instead of a Nickelodeon/Disney actress.

  35. Fatcircles0311 says:

So Wikipedia is now in the business of making sure obviously false fake biographies are defended and posted is the person in question is a minor? Well that sounds about right from that shit hole that has had a long history of hosting child pornography.

That domain is such a clown show.

  36. Anonymous says:

    Fake SEAL, real douchebag.

  37. A_Proud_Infidel says:

He’s definitely a member of the wannabe/douchebag/butthead Brigade, no ifs, ands, or buts!

  38. Smitty says:

hey now, this kid shot bin laden! i saw it on the internet and ya cant put anything on the internet that isnt true. This is far from harmless, this is a kid that doesnt know how to seperate reality from his video games. Adam lanza had the same issues, are we going to claim he was harmless too? this is something that should be stomped on fast and a much larger deal made out of it. if we made bigger deals out of kids that lose track of reality in their violent video games, we wouldnt have retards obsessed with scary black rifle bans now.

  39. teddy996 says:

@16- eat a cock. This is a direct quote from the “user page” link, under the “what you may not do” section:

“Generally, you should avoid substantial content on your user page that is unrelated to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a general hosting service, so your user page is not a personal website. Your user page is about you as a Wikipedian, and pages in your user space should be used as part of your efforts to contribute to the project.

In addition, there is broad agreement that you may not include in your user space material that is likely to bring the project into disrepute, or which is likely to give widespread offense (e.g. pro-pedophilia advocacy).”

Wiki guys defending this kid’s bullshit heaps disrepute on the site. Wikipedia insists that it is a viable information source, yet leaves shit like this up?

Some wiki staffer should have a chat with ‘lil Rambo, and tell him to keep his videogame fantasies within his circle of friends.

  40. OWB says:

So kids lying is OK? Wow.

When is a good time to teach children about telling the truth?

  41. streetsweeper says:

It helps to remember that wiki is edited by con’s serving time by the way…Just saying.

  42. Jonn Lilyea says:

Jeff sends us a link that says the Wiki SWAT Team is after him for the high crime of sockpuppetry

  43. Hondo says:

I suppose it’s too much to hope that they’ll go after him for being a LSoS on his Wikipedia page, or violating their ToS regarding creating what is essentially a personal vanity/social media page.

  44. ComancheDoc says:

S.Rich claims on his user page to be a former field medic and NCO along with being a retired JAG LTC. The dude is a pompous toolbag,
oh and he’s ” been there and for longer” as he told me last night

  45. Doc Bailey says:

ENGLISH MOTHER FUCKER! Do you speak it?

  46. C2/2000AF says:

Sooooooooooooooo…Wikipedia is now used for making fantasy characters from videogames? Thats a credibility boost right there!

While I dont expect copycats to step up and do this. But I wonder if this kid just goes to the page to show his friends and they are like “wow thats cool, let me do this too!”, some of his friends show up doing this mickey mouse BS.

  47. NHSparky says:

I weep for my country. This little douchetool, not so much. He’ll figure it out, maybe.
