Think Progress award-winning blogger charged with faking her own Hate Crime

| May 1, 2013

Yeah, who could have seen this one coming.

The University of Wyoming Police Department says Meg Lanker-Simons created the anonymous threat of sexual violence targeted at her on social media last week.

The university announced Tuesday that campus police cited Lanker-Simons for misdemeanor interference with a police investigation.

Lanker-Simons accused an anonymous source of posting a threat of rape on the Facebook page “UW Crushes” on April 24. But the citation issued Monday claims Lanker-Simons admitted to making the post, then lying about it….

“I want to hatef— Meg Lanker- so hard,” the Facebook post read. “That chick that runs her liberal mouth all the time and doesn’t care who knows it. I think its hot and it makes me angry. One night with me and she’s gonna be a good Republican b—-.”

Here she is being honored by Think Progress and Mother Jones.

Here’s her deleted Twitter Page.

Here’s her dopey Tumblr.

She sounds like Regan-Wolf, the lesbian pirate infantry battalion commander busted for beating the shit out of herself.

BTW- Welcome to Malkin and AoSHQ readers.  We love Ms Malkin, and while not quite “Collins” about Ace, we admit to being somewhat curious.  With enough Valu-Rite we would consider it.

UPDATE:  Here’s the stuff about her and Ayers working together:

University of Wyoming student Meg Lanker and University of Illinois-Chicago Professor Dr. William Ayers filed suit against UW and UW President Tom Buchanan in federal court in Cheyenne Thursday afternoon seeking an immediate injunction against the university for the “current and imminent violations of plaintiff’s (Lanker and Ayers) rights guaranteed under the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution.”

University of Wyoming Communications Director Jessica Lowell had no comment.

Filed by attorney David Lane, the complaint alleges that UW “acting under color of state law” has barred Ayers from speaking on campus and further declared that such actions are prior restraint against the rights of Ayers and Lanker to freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and freedom of association.

One of the specific threats allegedly was this:

Maybe someone could take him out and show him the Matthew Sheppard (sic) Commerative (sic) Fence and he could bless it or something

Only source I can find on that one right now is Ayers himself. But, maybe some more digging.

Imagine a “Minority Report” scenario here…she was simply using precognition to report on an as-yet committed crime which I’m sure has been planned by many a suitor. It’s science, man.

  2. TSO says:

There is also a grandfather paradox to consider here. If she hadn’t complained about her own complaint, then that first complaint might have ceased to exist, ripping a gaping hole in the entire ti9me/space/hoax continuum.

(Don’t think about that one too long please.)

  3. Claymore says:

Is this the part where Kirk and Spock fly around the sun and then land in San Francisco in the past to praise gay basketball players?

  4. PintoNag says:

She’s a prime example of why we need more mental health care in this country. That woman has an electrical short in her brain.

  5. OWB says:

The parallels between lefty loons and jihadis is astounding. Both believe that lying to advance their agenda is perfectly OK.

  6. Just Plain Jason says:

If she doesn’t fake her own threat how is someone going to be aware of the “rape culture” that is so pervasive in the world? Sheesh…

  7. Ex-PH2 says:

Someone please explain to me — some day, not right now — why these people don’t just write and self-publish books?

Also, if possible, let me know if these displays of bizarre behavior are as common in the looony-lefties as they seem to be.

I want my own planet to live on. T. Rexes are okay. I can feed the looony-toons to them. Gaaaacck!

Oh, yeah — you guys can all come, too.

  8. Crotchity Old Bubblehead says:

Just heard that Jason Collins was in truth not the first gay wizard.

Dumbeldoor and Gandalf were original gay wizards.

(Don’t ask me to spell Dumbeldoor and Gandalf. I had to ask the person that told me the joke what the hell he was talking about before it dawned on me who Dumbeldoor and Gandalf were/are.)

  9. Just Plain Jason says:

What some of them do is create entire studies devoted to their fields of study then gain a following based on that. Based on their “enlightening” work they will write papers and books self referencing, but because they follow a certain pattern they will be lapped up…agnotology.

  10. Hondo says:

For some of our newer readers who might we having a “WTF?” moment concerning Jonn’s last sentence above:

She shows up at comment #39.

  11. Just Plain Jason says:

Oh come on Hondo…I was hoping for a Morton Downey Jr swastika fail reference…

  12. Just Plain Jason says:

That ranks up there with, “master of gorilla warfare..”

  13. xbradtc says:

Tossed you some linky love at Ace’s. Hope you get a nice bump in traffic.

  14. Veritas Omnia Vincit says:

Wow, a lying piece of sh1t liberal using the old “the ends justify the means” to advance a personal agenda….who ever would have suspected this.

There are so many sad, irrelevant little turds that feel they need to do something, anything to remain relevant.

Instead of making sh1t up she could have just used the FBI UCR reports to discover that rape like all other violent crimes is declining. However, even while it’s on the decline it’s still far more prevalent in our society than most Americans would like to see. She could have espoused any number of theories on reduction methodology, causology, etc… that supported her position. But no, like every other liberal d-bag she chose to make some sh1t up to put herself front and center in the discussion.

  15. Nicki says:

These people are so desperate for something to complain about… so desperate for a grievance, that they’re happy to make shit up just to create one, because it happened to someone, somewhere, and that person is silent and unable to stand up for themselves, so this is her solidarity – her metaphor for all the silent abused out there!

    Or something…

  16. Ex-PH2 says:

Not to worry, Nicki. They complain now that Obama’s becoming an extreme right-winger.

  17. Hondo says:

Nicki: help me out a bit here. Does the explanation you gave in comment 15 translate roughly the same as uwaga prostytutka? (smile)

  18. Dang says:

When you see her pic, you can see why she had to threaten to rape herself.

  19. 2/17 Air Cav says:

    TSO: “…ripping a gaping hole…”

That’s disgusting. For starters, I’m going to lodge a complaint with the Department of Soft Verbiage and Politically Correct Word Choice. Oh, and I’m going to cc all of the gay NBA players who have come out of the locker room and who have been called “courageous” by thw White House for doing so. That’ll fix ya.

Not only linked in Ace’s sidebar but linked twice in Ace’s sidebar. Expect Ace to make a third but-main-post about this later in the afternoon.

  21. Sgt Snuggle Bunny says:

Apparently in April 2010 she retained terrorist Bill Ayers for a speaking engagement:

    Source: AP

LARAMIE, Wyo. — A Denver lawyer says he’ll sue the University of Wyoming unless it lets former 1960s radical William Ayers speak on campus.

David Lane sent the school a letter Monday saying he had been retained by student Meg Lanker. He contends the university violated the First Amendment when it canceled a speech Ayers was scheduled to give in March.

He gave the university until noon Wednesday to respond.

A university spokesman didn’t immediately return messages left after business hours Monday seeking comment.

Lane previously represented former University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill, who was dismissed for alleged plagiarism and research misconduct following criticism of an essay in which he compared some 9/11 victims to a Nazi.×4342353

  22. JWF says:

This thing also has a past history with Bill Ayers. Perfect.

  23. Nicki says:

Hondo, I got the second word, and that’s correct. The first… I’m not so sure about. Are you trying to translate “attention?”

  24. Idiots like this hurt more than help their own cause. By making up crap she is diverting attention away from the issue of sexual misbehavior/ assault on campus. Not a person on this site condones even as much as inappropriate comments towards females on campus, much less stalking and assault or date rape. I believe that if any group of followers of this blog caught someone trying to rape a college female there wouldn’t be anything but a grease spot for the coroner to pick up.
But when you have sea-hags like this making up shit and assuming every human with a penis is the devil it makes it hard for real victims to get justice.

  25. Hondo says:

Nicki: yep. Did I misspell it w Polsce?

  26. NHSparky says:

    @21–Hey, Snugs!

And yeah, why is it someone wants to pick a fight with someone in Wyoming, of all places? Remember, this is the same place where a state senator got a whiny letter from someone who had just moved to Cheyenne, and wrote her back basically saying if she didn’t like it there, she was free to get the fuck out.

  27. Bill H says:

Not only linked in Ace’s sidebar but linked twice in Ace’s sidebar. Expect Ace to make a third but-main-post about this later in the afternoon.

It seems that Andy’s thoughts are being read:

I noticed that Jammie Wearing Fool and Reihl World News has also picked this up. Gird your loins for the ride of your life, Meg. You’re not gonna like this.

  28. NHSparky says:

Jesus, the last time I saw something that fat and ugly in Larimie, it was in a pen with a milker hooked up to her udders.

  29. Nicki says:

Hondo, were you doing Polish? Shit. I thought it was Russian. LMAO!!! They’re similar, but not.

  30. Pecan Scandi says:

Who left the door open and let all these Morons in?

  31. charles w says:

If you all remember, David Lane was also Ward Churchill’s lawyer. He loves him some controversy.

  32. B Woodman says:

Can she be arrested, tried, and convicted of hate speech against herself??

  33. Max Entropy says:

She’s just about to graduate and she wanted to lock up a job at MSNBC. Mission Accomplished. She’ll make the prime time lineup.

  34. Hondo says:

Nicki: da, Polsce. And yes, they’re very similar in pretty much all but the alphabet used.

I speak only a few words. But my dad was raised speaking Polish at home until he started school – at which point he learned English. He never spoke Polish much after about age 6, and never learned to read and write it properly.

Nontheless, when Khruschev visited the US in 1960 my dad could follow much of what Khruschev was saying when he gave speeches – dad guessed about 60% or thereabouts. Not enough to translate accurately, but enough to get the main points of the speech.

I’ve been told all the Slavic languages are broadly similar. An acquaintance who speaks Serbo-Croatian tells me that the term “yep” in English is very similar to a relatively crude term Serbo-Croatian. And I also understand the term means the same in Russian. (smile)

  35. UpNorth says:

@28. Thx Sparky. I didn’t need that last cup of coffee anyway.

  36. NHSparky says:

Serdecznie zapraszamy, Up. Too late in the day for that anyway, unless you’re doing decaf.

  37. Ex-PH2 says:

Sparky, please don’t insult cows by putting them in the same sentence with that bloated, drooling hagfish.

Oh, dear me! Am I seeing the word ‘hate’ used by the left an awful lot these days, or am I just not seeing their other emotional outbursts? This is very disturbing.

I didn’t go downtown in Chicago last summer when the Occupy people were there, for a very good reason: they were almost dead-set on being destructive. They said so before the NATO conference even started, that they would engage in random acts of violence by destroying businesses along their march route. That isn’t politics. It isn’t even protest. It is just pure, unadulterated hatred on a par with the hate that the Taliban/al-Qaeda have for everyone who isn’t one of them.

I don’t get it. Where is this coming from?

  38. Ben says:

Umm, this girl is dreaming. Wacko nutjob can pull a stunt like this with no repercussions.

    Poor husband of hers.

  39. Nik says:

Can she be arrested, tried, and convicted of hate speech against herself??

I don’t see why not. I’ve heard of a few cases where minor girls with naked pictures of themselves on their cell phones have been charged with child porn.

  40. Hondo says:

B Woodman, Nik: if nothing else, she can certainly be nailed for filing a false police report. That will look simply wonderful on a job application or in a BI report.

  41. OWB says:

This type of scum usually consider a police record to be a resume enhancer. Not that there is anything wrong with them, of course, but that alone tells you how warped their minds are.

Yeah, false reporting, though often a misdemeanor, is a good choice. If filed properly, perhaps even a felony based on the cost of the investigation – man hours, plus whatever else can be added into the total cost of the false report.

  42. Ex-PH2 says:

There are two words you don’t use lightly.

One is “wolf!” The other is “rape”.

Use either of them too often and no one will listen to you.

Durnburnit, it was hard enough before the 1970s to get women who said they’d been raped taken seriously, because it was frequently by someone they knew and it was blown off by the cops, many times with a lot of vulgar jokes about it.

Someone like this, who seems to think it’s okay to abuse this to get attention has got rocks in her head. She puts all other women in danger of not being believed when they receive threats of any kind. I would personally like to see the cops come down on her like an old building.

  43. Twist says:

Ex-PH2, I agree 100%. Scum like this make it harder for the real victims.
