Brandon Garrison phony busted by mates

Brandon Garrison

Bobo sends us a link to Kansas City Fox 4 which tells the story of Brandon Garrison who has been playing the victim of his deployment to Afghanistan for years. He has benefited from receiving a free home and a free service dog. He has done interviews graveside of people he claimed to try and save, but whom he had never even met. Folks who were there with him finally got fed up with his lies about TBI and PTSD and spoke out;

[Robbie Myers, Garrison’s former supervisor in Afghanistan] said Garrison’s claims about bursting both his ear drums while in Afghanistan are not true. In fact, he said, Garrison was never in or even near an explosion that could have caused such an injury.

“You blow out both your ear drums, you are considered a casualty,” Myers said. “It gets reported.”

Myers said Garrison spent the majority of his service in the Korengal Valley in the only air-conditioned office in the outpost.

Myers said he has been dealing with Garrison’s lies ever since 2008. That’s when Garrison was interviewed by HBO for a documentary on the portion of Arlington Cemetery dedicated to veterans of the Afghanistan War.

Garrison is shown standing over the grave of Sgt. Chris Wilson, who served in the same unit and was killed by a grenade.

“I’m taken back to the time where I was holding a dressing on his stomach as he was bleeding out,” said Garrison, looking at Wilson’s grave.

Myers said that’s a lie.

“He was nowhere near him,” Myers said. “He didn’t even see Sgt. Wilson before or after he passed away.”

Of course, Garrison is sticking to his lies. The reporters went to get his side of the story;

When we asked about his comments to HBO regarding Sgt. Wilson, Garrison dismissed our concerns saying “that was eight years ago.”

We also tried asking about his injuries, pointing that none of his commanding officers were aware that he suffered any that would have resulted in burst ear drums or a traumatic brain injury.

“Well they are not doctors,” Garrison said before refusing any further comment and going back inside his home.

Yeah, well, he’s a shitbag and he should lie because someone is going to get pissed off and take his free shit away from him to give to real deserving veteran.

    WTF !!!!!
    SHIT BAG !!!!!

    • desert says:

This dirty s.o.b. gets a free house? when there are REAL VETS out there that need one? and the s.o.b. gets a service dog, when REAL VETS OUT THERE NEED A SERVICE DOG? somebody needs to work the s.o.b. over with a 2×4 so that he legitimately has some wounds!!

      • Skippy says:

There are many Vet groups and Organizations. That will give you a Home for your service there are lenders that will give you a Grant for a down payment to buy a Home why LIE !!!!!!
After getting some of my repair work done from my Bo-Bo, I was Stunned at how many people Had B.S. war story’s, I was sick from all the B.S. And mad as hell that these turds where getting the Red Carpet while the rest of us were getting the stick. No Combat but no issues getting a Purple Heart. For being FULL OF SHIT… I would say screw the 2X4 and let run him over,,,

        • Reb says:

It makes me sick that a veteran has to lie about their service. Be proud of what you did. Posers are crapping on every wars KIA & POW-MIAs still waiting to come home. I finally got it through my head these guys don’t give a damn. Johnny didn’t come home, oh well, not my problem and it should be. Every veteran whether they were in the fight or working in country should be god damn grateful to those who didn’t come home. I’m not related to Jimmy Ray but I care about him as if I was. If I had the POWER AND MONEY I would trade this asshole and the rest of them in exchange for Jimmys remains. I WANT MY JIMMY HOME?☹?

  4. 2/17 Air Cav says:

This guy is no ordinary turd. He is extraordinary. I googled his name and a mountain of material came up, from a Stars and Stripes feature to his latest concern that he may have some disease caused by a burn pit. I also saw a video interview he gave to local news in KC. He has been playing the game–quite successfully–for years. Hell, he even developed an affinity for alcohol as a result of his heavy, heavy combat. Oh, and he most certainly did suffer ‘flashbacks.’ I know because that’s what he told a reporter. Extraordinary turd.

  5. Poetrooper says:

The only thing I believe about this guy is the Walter Reed diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. He’s half ass-hat and half slimeball, and since when does that merit a free house and a service dog?

Jonn, if you’ll supply the organizations that provided those, TAH readers can contact them and ask them that question. Maybe we can get this smooth-talking con artist bounced out of there and the dog transferred to the hands of a truly deserving soldier. Those dogs are in very limited supply and should be issued very carefully.

  6. Pinto Nag says:

I can’t even begin to imagine how someone could claim to have tried to save a life when they weren’t even there at the time. Even more, concerning the life of a soldier wounded in combat. That’s just despicable.

  7. JarHead Pat says:

A total con man and shitbird. this is why I have stopped giving to Vet groups, because guys like this always get all the freebies. He needs a real good ass kicking, he was only sorry the he was caught up in a lie.

  8. Smitty says:

But he self identifies as a heroic super soldier, isn’t that enough? Why are yall being so hard on a man just trying to live the life he feels he was supposed to live?

  9. Chosin says:

Please help us share this story!!!!!! We are trying to get it to go viral and it National News!!! This guy is a disgrace to us and to our brothers that we lost during this deployment.. He needs to repay everything that he got for his lies..

    • Skippy says:

Chosin. Karma is a Bitch !!!! This attention Whore is forever going to find himself a top ten Google babe…

  10. NotBuyingIt says:

    His name is “Garrison,” really?

    Très à propos.

  11. Roger in Republic says:

He is, truly, A legend in His Own Mind.

  12. MickeyGSM says:

to close to home for me… this shitbag has used my very good friends son in vain,… asshat SSG Wilson’s mom are best of friends. I will let you know later how she is reacting to this. Somebody throat punch him for both of us.

    • Thunderstixx says:

Send her our condolences for the brave sacrifice her son and his family made for the rest of us.
I am certain that a throat punch is well within the bounds of the crap that should happen to this puke.

    • Twist says:

I don’t even want to imagine how it feels to lose your child and then have some dickhead use their passing for personal gain.

      • Mickey Arnette says:

I spoke to SSG Wilson’s mom today and she too me that most of what she learned of Christopher’s death is most all lies…. :`( now she will be reliving March 2007 all over again
How is this fair. That family has been though enough
        Can someone hang him please

        • 2/17 Air Cav says:

Mickey. This Garrison guy is one-man wrecking crew. He may be dismissed as a liar, a valor thief, a dishonorable cuss, and relegated to the junk heap of humanity. That he hurt a Gold Star Mom in any way is despicable and inexcusable. He stands alone in what he did and the quicker he is dismissed the better for your fellow GSM, SSG Wilson’s Mom. Don’t let this SOB Garrison take another minute of your time or hers.

  13. MickeyGSM says:

Wilson and My son are laid to rest very close to one another.

    • Thunderstixx says:

And Thank you too. God bless you and your entire family.
The pollen must be real bad under this air conditioner right now.
I am so sorry for both families loss…
      Godspeed to all of them.

  14. The men of 1-32 Infantry deserve an apology for the lies that this asshat has vomited. His disgraceful behaviour will never be accepted by the men of our unit. Great work in calling Garrison out on his disgusting bullshit and keeping the integrity of 1-32 inf. as it should be. I only wish someone deserving of the services he recieved, had received them instead. Hopefully he will do the right thing and give his free home back so it can be regifted to an honest veteran with the integrity of a true soldier.

    • Pinto Nag says:

Garrison is a criminal, a thief. He stole valor, and used that stolen valor to appropriate goods and services that should have gone to other veterans who actually needed them. This blog and comments like yours will go a long way to making sure people find out what and who Garrison really is. It may take time, HAS taken time, but it will catch up with him, eventually.

Joseph, thank you for commenting here, and I want you to know that you and all of your brothers are in our thoughts and prayers. We are grateful for all that you have given and sacrificed for us.

  15. Ex-PH2 says:

    Whack him.

  16. Hondo says:

Hmm. Two burst eardrums would definitely require medical treatment, if for not other reason than to preclude infection (that can actually be pretty damn serious). It would also generate a casualty report – and a Purple Heart, if due to enemy action.

Standing offer: if someone can get me the necessary info (Firtname/Middlename/Lastname, place of birth, date of birth, approx dates of service – years are good enough), I’ll be very happy to make a FOIA inquiry on the tool. Then we’ll see if his claims stand up to scrutiny.

    • Twist says:

I know for a fact that it would require evacuation. A buddy of mine had that happen to him in 2005-06 (can’t remember exact date) when he hit an IED. He ended up getting evacuated.

      • Hondo says:

Thought so. From what I could remember, EENT wasn’t among the medical services available at the Bagram AB MTF. Or anywhere in theater, for that matter. Europe (Landstuhl?) was as close as stuff like that (and many other conditions) could be treated.

Another bawling candyassed booger-eating wussnoramus of a bedwetting conman who’s only sorry he got caught. I just refreshed my vocal cords with another cold beer, so I’m ready to do a hymn, feel free to join me, y’all!!

    FUCK HIM…

How ’bout a rotten dried-out pineapple wrapped in asbestos inserted sideways? 😀

  18. ture horo says:

guys.. spending all that horrible time in a air conditioned office while knowing that your ‘brothers’ are out there suffering in 120 degree heat and getting shot down, its frankly more than a man can tolerate.

I think he has a point that it was more stressful for him to suffer in that climate controlled office than it was for the mere trigger pullers out in the heat.

    He is a ture horo

  19. MCPO NYC USN Ret. says:

    Can anyone say “material gain”?

  20. AviationGirl says:

Why do they always bring the dog into it?

  21. Bobo says:

I can only imagine the mental anguish it caused and the emotional fortitude that it took to walk out of that air conditioned office for three hot meals, knowing what that temperature change from 68 degrees to 100+ degrees would do to his hair. And the hot showers! The horror!

  22. sj says:

May well be a high seed in the tournament but only if he ramps up his game by hiring Bernasty as his lawyer, Forging Frank for documentation and Chevy (aka “Hollywood”) as a witness that he flew on his 130 Compass Call in a harrowing mission.

  23. Jarhead says:

Something is amiss here (NO SHIT SHERLOCK!). Trying my best to put it all together I can only come up with this: The dude was ear-fucked when he was a kiddie. All the way through, causing brain damage in both canals. That would make believable the ear problems and personality disorder…”Earfuckobia disorder”. No, he didn’t wish to continue his admissions and apologize to KIA’s family. He’d just as soon forget it all and live happy for ever in his FREE home with his FREE service dog to teach him how to lick his own balls(If he can find them).
Seriously, a PTSD diagnosis begins with a form describing in detail what and when one was affected. Those accounts do not include “The base I was on received incoming mortar.” Sorry loser, that’s not enough to continue the conversation. Generally speaking, any PTSD claim is verified for truthfulness, accuracy, and effect on the claimant. Even today, if someone who served in RVN makes a claim, it can easily be verified. We all know records of every major battle are kept, not to mention small skirmishes that were short but traumatic under certain conditions. Hope he loses his house, gets butt-fucked by his dog (he’d probably enjoy that!), and has to leave town.
Somewhere down the line it all starts with a claim. That’s where all went wrong in this case. Right for him, but WRONG for all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. I wouldn’t piss in his mouth if his guts were on fire.

  24. Ilka GSM says:

Sgt Christopher Wilson is my son , I am looking to understand how someone could come to me face to face and tell me that my beautiful boy died in their arms. I have have lived with this for 8 years now I am facing living this over again and trying to find a new reality. When I heard garrison say it s been 8 years does he imply that I should get over it? What I want is for him to tell me face to face why he could or felt that he had the right to, tell me this story. I firmly believe there is a special place in hell waiting for him. I do thank all of you for sharing this story so all of his brothers in arms may have vindication true heroes 1-32 inf alpha company. Chosin!.

    • Dalton says:

I agree this guy is a poser

    • 2/17 Air Cav says:

GSM Ilka. I wish that I could make your renewed pain go away or at least sugarcoat this lying SOB’s dastardly act in some way, but I cannot. I looked up your son, Christopher, and read what I found written about him by friends and loved ones. Clearly, he was a fine man and there is much sadness in his loss. I can’t imagine your anguish or that of other Gold Star Moms. All I can do is pray for your peace and hope that this guy Garrison feels the full weight of the hurt he has caused you.

    • OWB says:

Can only agree with the others who said that the renewed pain caused by learning the truth about this liar is something we cannot fully understand. What we can do for you is to thank you for carrying that load on our behalf and to reassure you that you are not alone on your recovery from this latest round of pain.

Thank you, Ilka, and all the other Gold Star families, for the sacrifice you made. While we can never (we hope) understand that particular pain, we are grateful that men like your son defended us and that we are able to walk with you on your journey knowing that it is not enough, but that it does ease your burden just a little.

    • Pinto Nag says:

Dana, for reasons it would take too long to explain, I feel I am qualified to address your comment. Your daughter has been latched onto by a voracious parasite. He’ll use her and hurt her (emotionally, if no other way) and your granddaughter, until the farce that is their life comes crashing down, and he’ll either abandon them or drag them with him. Years of their lives will be spent in real misery, and they won’t be able to get them back. Whatever it takes, re-establish contact with your daughter, as soon as possible. She’s going to need you more than she knows, and you might be the only ones who can help her when the time comes.

      • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

It sound like the sooner Brandon Garrison gets put in jail, the better. He sounds like a remorseless conman, a psychological and emotional predator as well as a sociopath.

      • Dayna says:

Dana, one thing you could try is getting an attorney, I am not sure how things are in your state but most states now allow grandparents visitation no matter what the relationship is with the child. An attorney will bring in the fact all that he has done by pretending he was more than he truly was, how much hurt he caused the poor lady by telling her he was with her son when he died and so on. Ask for at least every other weekend visitation and a couple weeks in the summer……..ask for more if your attorney thinks its possible to get. Re-establish the relationship with your grandchild whether you do your daughter or not. At least than your grandchild will know who to turn to when she needs them. My heart breaks for you and your family and I will pray that your family members come back to you soon.

    • MCPO NYC USN Ret. says:

Take the issue and this story to Child Protective Services and insist on judicial intervention for the sake of tyhe childs welfare.

    • sj says:

My legal expertise is based on watching Judge Judy. I think grandparents have a legal right to visitation and a court will so order. Should be easy and cheap to file such a motion. Search on line for forms. God Bless you and yours in this sad situation.

    • Suzy says:

GSM Ilka, I am preparing to carry the stone of your son, Sgt Christopher Wilson to the summit of Cadillac Mountain with The Summit Project in October. I came upon this disturbing development while learning what I can about Christopher. My heart aches for you and the rest of your family and all his brothers in arms. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do from Maine. Sgt Christopher Wilson is not forgotten

  25. Friend S. Wilkins says:

If it were up to me, I’d yank that ungrateful son of a bitch right out of that nice house and give the service dog to a REAL veteran. Then I would GIVE Brandon Garrison a back pack loaded with all the essentials, plus a 2 liter canteen w/ iodine purification tablets, sleeping bag, etc. Spare no expense. Then I’d drop him off somewhere on some dry dusty road and tell him, “Start walking.”

  26. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

His fellow Troops from the unit he deployed with are calling “BULLSHIT!” on his claims, you can’t get a more reliable source than that! 😀

  27. FranksJ says:

I found out this guy used to work for the VA and went into another veterans file to check their combat veteran status. He did this to a friend because they received support from a veterans organization and he basically got jealous it wasn’t him.

    • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Sounds like it’s only a matter of time until he really steps on his crank and gets the carpet yanked out from under him, I just hope his Wife then sees him as the conman he truly is, and yes, people like Brandon Garrison have a special place in hell awaiting them! I’m sure we’ll hear more about him and his antics in the future, hopefully it’ll be about him getting called out for what he’s conned folks out of!

    • WOJG says:

Like it or not, your comments are ignorant, Dana. WWP doesn’t give out tickets because someone pleads their case. Besides, you say your daughter is married to him? Way to get back on her side… by smearing her husband along with the other trolls. If you were my mother, the only way I would consider talking to you again would be if you stood up against the negative comments, because that is what family does, versus using your apparent “inner” knowledge of the situation to feed the hungry trolls.

I know for a fact that he used a Gold Star Mother to secure the service dog. I hope this “poser” becomes national news and the house and dog go to a deserving vet and he goes to jail.

    http://www.military.com/daily-news/2016/02/01/charity-reclaims-service-dog-after-veteran-brandon-garrison-lie.html?ESRC=army_160202.nl

    • OWB says:

      Great news.

    • Hondo says:

Unfortunately, the article says the house was provided “based on his status as an honorably discharged veteran”. Assuming he actually was discharged honorably, that may make it damn near impossible for whatever organization or entity gave him the house to reclaim it. Dunno. But I hope they try.

Still, the fact that one charity was able to reclaim his ill-gotten free dog is a good thing.

  32. 2/17 Air Cav says:

There isn’t enough toilet paper in the world to wipe away the stains this POS leaves wherever he goes. Damn you, Brandon Garrison.
