Bruce Allan Pendlay sentenced

According to the Winfield, Kansas Daily Courier, Bruce Allan Pendlay, a fellow we busted about a year ago, was finally sentenced. Pendlay had claimed that he was a career Special Forces soldier and he had insinuated himself into the local veteran community with a forged DD214 discharge certificate. His actual service lasted a mere four months.

When he was busted, he faked an attack by someone in a dark vehicle who Pendlay claimed had tried to murder him. Actually, he had shot himself in the chest and thrown the weapon from his truck while he called 9-1-1 to report the crime. Initially, he was arrested for being a felon in possession of a handgun, but those charges were dropped when the prosecutor couldn’t prove that he was indeed a felon who had been arrested for armed robbery. So Pendlay was sentenced to repaying the local police departments for their investigations into his faked shooting and he was further sentenced to write a letter of apology to the VFW to which he belonged;

Court costs totaled $158, the Cowley County Sheriff’s office costs totaled $1093.27 and the Winfield Police Department’s costs totaled $712.86.

[Cowley County Attorney Chris Smith] confirmed that Pendlay has paid these costs in full.

In addition, he was ordered to send a letter of apology to the Veterans of Foreign Wars for possibly misrepresenting his military service.

Smith said that he had received a copy of a letter, but Arkansas City Post 1254 Commander Charlie Cravens and Quartermaster “Buff” Buffington could not confirm receipt of a letter from Pendlay on Wednesday.

It seems a little light to me. Here is Pendlay’s FOIA and his forged DD214;

Pendlay forgery

Pendlay called me a few months ago and announced that he was suing me because we had him on the “Stolen Valor” page and he hadn’t been charged with Stolen Valor, so I’m pretty sure he doesn’t understand that what he did was wrong, in fact, I don’t think he knows why it was wrong. We’ll probably be reading about him again real soon.

    ¡Chinga este Pendlay-ho!

  2. NR Pax says:

Oh, it’s so adorable when they threaten legal action.

  3. IDC SARC says:

Long tab, ranger and a CIB in such a short time…Sarge, he’s sooperman!

I feel like such a slacker.

  4. Bobo says:

It sounds like he’s prime meat for that gang called the DRC. I’m pretty sure that at this point, the level of threats and the conspiracy between DRC members raises their organization to the gang level, although not quite as dangerous as MS-13.

    • Silentium Est Aureum says:

Little birdie tells me the Flori-duh Chapter members are gonna find life real uncomfortable, real soon.

      • HMCS (FMF) ret. says:

Are there perp walks and long, hot steamy showers with Bubba, Thor, Julio and Mr. Tiny involved?

I’m sure that those members will love the intense anal dilation therapy sessions.

  5. HMCS (FMF) ret. says:

Should have gotten more, especially for being a felon with a firearm (that should have earned him a trip back into the loving arms of Thor, Bubba, Julio and Mr. Tiny). Well, at least the local community knows about him and his BS.

As for the lawsuit… assclown is full of shit. Discovery would be a laugher, especially with his “214”. Point him in the direction of a soon-to-be disbarred attorney for member ship in that “organization”.

    Fuck you, Brucey Pendejo…

  6. USMCMSgt(Ret) says:

I’d say he’s had enough legal trouble lately than to worry about stirring up some more with Jonn and TAH.

    • Silentium Est Aureum says:

But that’s the thing with those clowns. They have the right to remain silent, but they don’t have the ability.

      • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Everyone has the right to be stupid, but they ABUSE THE PRIVILEGE in every way, shape and form!

  7. GDContractor says:

Well who paid for his hospital stay and his medical bills for his self inflicted gunshot? How many 100’s of K’s was that? This fucker got off way too easy.

    • HMCS (FMF) ret. says:

He’s got “Bernath Syndrome”… gonna accuse all of us for his attempted suicide and thinks that the big payday is getting money out of us.

Good fucking luck this that, Brucie!

  8. GDContractor says:

And another thing, I do not see him paying any penalty for presenting a forged federal document. I guess that’s just not prosecuted any more.

    • Hondo says:

Sadly, Federal prosecutors seem to only rarely find it worth their time and effort to do that these days. At least, tht seems to be the case when the document is a DD214.

      Not enough money involved.

  9. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

I’d advise him NOT TO go full Bernath but as a past Mentor once told me “You can’t help a fool.”. I wonder if he’ll consult with Daniel A. Bernath the Fred Phelps clone for legal advice?

    • HMCS (FMF) ret. says:

Forgin’ Frank can help him… only cost him $20.00 an hour for some “top flight” legal work!

For a few bucks more, Frank will thrown in a couple of certs to document the awards that he “should” have received while in thee military!

      • GDContractor says:

He should have shot himself in the lower leg, above the knee. Frank’s running a special on those certificates this week.

    • Reb says:

      OH PROUD!

Bernath can’t give legal advice, he’s not a Attorney.

  10. OWB says:

There’s no federal prosecutor looking for an easy conviction on the forged DD-214?

  11. Green Thumb says:

He should have aimed a little more to the right.

  12. Skippy says:

    jack-ass…. NEXT !!!!!!!

  13. Combat Historian says:

Fucker should have shot himself in the nuts…

  14. Civilwarrior says:

That 214 is one of the most comical forgeries I have yet seen. How did that shit fool ANYBODY at the VFW? Could it be because they were all members of their era’s version of the E-4 Mafia?

  15. Carlton G. Long says:

My favorite part of the “DD214” is “discharged in good standing” HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  16. Jarhead says:

Pay a little vig, write a letter, and that’s it???????
He should be put in the dunking booth during the outdoor festival this month. In the old days women who strayed had the letter “W” put on their forehead for all to see. These are finally the days to change back to the old way. “A W” for attention whore seems appropriate. Bound to be even some better ideas from the TAH crowd.

  17. Reb says:

Not enough…wash the markers in a Military Cemetery. Put the flags by the markers on Military Holidays, volunteer at a VA hospital wearing a tag that says I’M A MILITARY POSER.

Ass got a slap on the hand ?

  18. Roh-Dog says:

Four months, wow. I probably have that amount of time in a port-o-let in a combat zone.
Lick my and my Brothers’ boots, you embellishing turd.
