Pentagon: Gitmo grads have killed Americans

| March 23, 2016

The Associated Press reports that terrorists who have been released from Guantanamo’s detainee center went on to kill Americans;

Paul Lewis, the Pentagon’s special envoy for Guantanamo detention closure, declined to provide the GOP-led House Foreign Affairs Committee with details. He would not say whether the incidents occurred before or after President Barack Obama took office in January 2009.

“What I can tell you is unfortunately there have been Americans that have died because of (Guantanamo) detainees,” Lewis said during an exchange with Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif.

“When anybody dies, it is tragedy and we don’t want anybody to die because we transfer detainees,” Lewis said.

“There are unfortunately going to be acts of terrorism, probably whether the facility is opened or closed,” [Lee Wolosky, the State Department’s special envoy for Guantanamo closure] said. “The proper analysis is, ‘What are the risks of keeping it open in light of the very obvious use of that facility as a propaganda tool,’ which, frankly, you should not have to question.”

So, why even fight terror at all? It’s going to happen no matter what we do, so let’s just throw up our hands and do nothing. We can use that money to give everyone free college, if they can survive the experience.

The other answer is that we take no prisoners. If they are captured, we give them a fair trial and then execution.

    • B Woodman says:

Define “fair”. These Quanderthals are non national enemy combatants, not deserving of a trial. Wrong them of any Intel they may have, then a double tap to the brain pan. Leave the corpse. If you’re concerned about hygiene, then a quart of diesel and a match.

  2. 2/17 Air Cav says:

“When anybody dies, it is tragedy….” I can think a few people off hand whose deaths would be cause for celebration. As someone shouted yesterday in Cuba, “Play Ba11!” And he is doing precisely that.

  3. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

    Most. Incompetent. Administration. Ever.

    • 2/17 Air Cav says:

API. It’s all smoke and mirrors, not incompetence. There’s an agenda that is antithetical to American interests, American traditions, and American values. The SOB is quite adept at what he chooses to do, which is to reduce American power and prestige worldwide.

  4. USMCMSgt (Ret) says:

This makes my blood boil. Releasing those savages back into the wild should rise to the level of complicity and providing support to the enemy. Not sure how those charges could be drafted or if even argued in court successfully, but someone should fry over this sh*t!

  5. USAF Ret says:

I have reconsidered my position on closing Gitmo and think it should be done as quickly as possible. I am even willing to charter an airplane to fly them all back to the Middle East. Now if I can only get Bernasty to be the pilot it would…

    • Instinct says:

Easy, tell Bernasty that the passengers all want to file a lawsuit against everyone at TAH for being totes mean to them. Oh, and that they know who Hondo is.

He would be all over that like Michael Moore on a cheeseburger.

    • USAF Ret says:

So I need donations to by the fuel for the trip to the Middle East. 15-20 gallons should be enough for them to take off and head east over the ocean.

    • nousdefions says:

I’m so investing all my money in Duck Tape stock….

  6. Roger in Republic says:

All degrees and certificates from Gitmo U should be conferred posthumously. No one should ever leave Gitmo alive. Once they have been drained of all intelligence information they should get what they deserve.

  7. Green Thumb says:

Does this include the TAs and RAs that the current administration sent down as “freshman-level graduate students” to assess the situation?

You know, the ones that submitted their “thesis” to Obummer and his crew on how bad Guantanamo was and how we, the United States, should release these improperly-identified prisoner of war.

And the liberals wonder what is wrong these days.

  8. RandyBeck says:

I watched a small part of it. Best part I saw was where the Obama administration’s guy says that the Europeans don’t like Guantanamo. Dana Rohrabacher then says the European attitudes may be changing. They’ll have a different set of leaders in six months.

All I can tell the Pentagon is NO SHIT SHERLOCK~
