The folks at Military Phony send us their work on this William R. Mayor fellow. He claims that he was Naval Special Warfare and that he was working down South taking out the bad guy drug dealers and that he was injured in that endeavor so that he missed the global war against terror;

William R. Mayor Jr. claims

You know he’s legit, because what kind of creep would get a tattoo if he was a fake?

William R. Mayor Jr.1

Well, he did spend seven grueling months in the Marine Corps Reserve September 1994 – April 1995;

Even after that lengthy and arduous career, he still had more to give to his country, so he served another five months in the Navy;

So after all of that, who could doubt that he is afflicted by PTSD, which also explains his long and storied criminal record;

I can see where people could get fooled by that beard.

    • Daisy Cutter says:

Right, nothing says “operator” like a full length beard. He must have served on the teams.

  3. sj says:

His wife writes on his FB: “It would probably be behoove people to remember that Will is an FRA agent”.

    What’s that?

  4. IDC SARC says:

    D-Bag

  5. Silentium Est Aureum says:

I’m not a PN, so I don’t know exactly when the Sea Service counter (1 mo., 12 days) starts.

What strikes me as odd is that his last command was USS Portland, which at the time was homeported out of Little Creek, but was separated from PSD Great Lakes.

If the SDCD started the day he detached from Great Lakes, that would make sense. Any reason why he got booted would be purely speculative on my part, but my money says he may well have never even made it to Little Creek, having done something stupid between boot/AT and VA that basically got him an ELS.

    • Hondo says:

Record of assignments does appear to show him assigned to the USS Portland twice. I’m thinking he indeed reported in there at least once, probably the first time. The second time, perhaps not.

However, looking at his DD214 I noticed something else.

971113 – 970514 = 6 months exactly. However, “Net Active Service This Period” is 5 mo 1 day.

That leaves 29 days not accounted for. You can probably “do the math” from there. (smile)

      • The Vesha says:

William went AWOL *or whatever the Navy calls it* in boot. He was returned to Great Lakes where he was detained for mental health reasons. He was given a general discharge just under the six month mark to not qualify him for his E-2 and returned home to Cambell Ohio *outside of Youngstown* William also has served jail time for domestic violence against a few different women. He claims to play airsoft for therapy, he isn’t allowed to have any real guns because he’s a fellon.

  6. Instinct says:

    Fuck this guy.

  7. ex-OS2 says:

    Cocksucker.

  8. Green Thumb says:

    Loser.

But hey, man, its the PTSD.

    • HMCS(FMF) ret. says:

Dude’s PTSD is due to his Fractured Taint Syndrome (FTS), which is common is 98.96% of all Stolen Valor losers.

  9. thebesig says:

They may think others are fooled by their beards, tattoos, military uniforms, etc., that I just give them a default label of “militiaman”. :roll”

    • NECCSEABEECPO says:

Here’s the shitty thing about the type III uniform this shit head has on. You cant just buy them anywhere, they are controlled item. So he probably bought it on EBay from some NSW or NSW support guy. So basically a real deal could have gave him that uniform. They are big on controlling these uniforms and have tracking numbers on them that can be traced back to who was issued that uniform.

The other thing is that dumb ass is use to the Marines as he has his sleeves rolled the wrong way and Green tee-shirt.

      • Martinjmpr says:

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. There is a thriving worldwide market in knock-off camo. Textile mills can crank out a new pattern within a month of when it is adopted, in some cases even sooner

Even down at my local surplus store I’d bet I could find a near-copy of that pattern. Not enough to be “genuine” but enough to look genuine at a distance.

      • 19D2OR4-Smitty says:

I thought the NWU3 had slanted front pockets like the MCCUU? This guys doesnt.

        • NECCSEABEECPO says:

No, they didn’t make it the same as the MARPAT pocket, that was the NECC (SeaBees) who fought to not have that. The pocket is just like it is on his photo.

As for the knock off it would be hard they made sure to protect it. It takes about 2 weeks to get what we call a survey meaning replacement through supply and they will not give it to you until you have destroyed yours so know one can wear it.

They wouldn’t let me sign out for retirement until they got mine back or they pay checked me and had me sign a paper that said I would not sell if found and would destroy

          • 19D2OR4-Smitty says:

Fair enough. Last time I saw a type three was in Basra in 2010. Been around Marines a lot since then, probably merged the two images in my memory.

            • NECCSEABEECPO says:

I would say you saw the first proto types that NSW had. The final approved my big Navy didn’t come out for full service until Jan 2012.NSW gave in to NECC on the pockets.

          • Hondo says:

Don’t be so sure. It’s amazing what the garment industry can do from photos.

I’d guess that knock-offs were available within a few weeks, and good knock-offs within a few months. They probably wouldn’t pass muster at an inspection, but they’d likely fool anyone not familiar with the “real deal”.

Not a new thing, either. Saw that in the 1980s with polo shirts and a whole lot of other “trendy” stuff. Expensive as hell stateside – and cheap as hell in Korea.

            • 19D2OR4-Smitty says:

You can get anything made in Korea. A friend of mine had a leather harley jacket made there. It looks more legit than most actual harley jackets and it is accurate down to the buttons.

              Cost him $45

  11. HMCS(FMF) ret. says:

He’s not a Seal… he’s a SQUEAL… as in “Squeal like a pig” when he’s in the hole with Bubba, Thor, Julio and Mr. “Tiny”.

Dude’s a two hole, taint tickling, Call of Booty warrior.

  12. IDC SARC says:

Good thing he never actually went to BUDS…he’s already such a innate badass with the limited service he accumulated. SEALS probably just aren’t ready for a guy that skilled.

    *sarcasm

  13. jarhead says:

That fourteen feet, three inch stare says it all. This clown’s got to be legit!!!! No doubt proud to be a member of the We Love To “B” club.

  14. jarhead says:

As we have seen before, normally Stolen Valor is just the tip of the ice berg. Point being….betcha when he meets a stranger he tells them he is the Mayor of his home town.

  15. 3E9 says:

    Dipshit.

  16. Martinjmpr says:

I love that he plays Airsoft to deal with this PTSD of being a steeley-eyed killer.

For those that don’t know, Airsoft is basically paintball for people afraid of paintballs.

When I was 10 years old we just called it “Playing Army” but although it’s hard to believe, there are actually “grown” men (and I use the term loosely) who apparently do the same thing and spend thousands of $$ kitting themselves out as harcore “Oper8rs” and running around the woods going “bang, bang, you’re dead!” “am not!” “are too!” (rolleyes)

  17. Just An Old Dog says:

Looks like he was a Delayed Entry Reject from the Corps. No rank no duty station as a place of Seperation. He was 17 at most in Sept 1994 and disharged in April 1995. Probably a High School Sr who signed up and didnt follow through.

    • Hondo says:

I’d guess there’s a very good chance you’re right, JAOD – DEP enlistee who pulled a “no show” when it was time for IET, or maybe never showed at his reserve unit while awaiting training.

Might be part of the reason why his Navy service ended early. If he was a USMC “no show”, I’m guessing he probably didn’t tell the Navy recruiter about that.

But I guess I could be wrong about the above.

  18. Just An Old Dog says:

He also is affilated with, or holding one of those 10 dollar “donation” fireworks signs from that ass-wart Justin Gourley’s bullshit PTSD group.

  19. Sparks says:

He doesn’t like to talk about it. That’s why he puts a campaign poster in his yard to be considerate with fireworks to the resident PTSD combat vet and neighborhood lying shithead.

    Shitbag.

  20. Silentium Est Aureum says:

Shit like this makes me want to launch bottle rockets at those signs.

  21. Retired Grunt says:

You know what’s messed up, I was actually Joint Security Forces with Task Force Bravo, Soto Cano, AB, Honduras during the early 90’s. There was a war goomg on but he wasn’t there, that kind of pissed me off.

    • NECCSEABEECPO says:

Yep, we had a detachment there in 92,built small camps, took small arms fire at night. We sent a detachment to build a DEA camp with boat ramps,so the SBU guys could float their boats there, NO SEAL’s just SBU pre SWCC in the jungles of Colombia. We then hoped to GITMO to help with those dam Haitians and that camp would latter be camp Delta and then X ray.

  22. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

WTF, OVER? that tat of his looks a LOT like the logo that Don Shipley (SCPO, USN, Ret.) uses for his business and videos. As for his sign, SHIT YEAH, I’d use it as a bottle rocket practice target, wotta WONDER-WUSS!

    • AverageNCO says:

Yeah it’s the same logo known as the bonefrog. In the time I spent with team guys I saw only one Trident tattoo but multiple bonefrog tatts. Along with the Trident its associated with SEALs and Frogmen predecessors.

    • Fjardeson says:

Appropriating Don “The Hair” Shipley’s (SCPO, USN, Ret.) BoneFrog should get him some wall-to-wall counseling. What a douche move, as many people are familiar with Don’s training courses… this guy wouldn’t last a day.

  23. Chip says:

In this day and age people really do not care about someone’s service other than if they are being honest about it. Most of the time if you share your service it makes the person you are sharing it with jealous of you. People are lazy these days and military service is a very rare thing. Not even 1% serve. It’s best to keep it to yourself. Nobody cares and these posers need to realize that the only people that do care are veterans and one just might explore your background to see if you are legit.

    • “only people that do care are veterans and one just might explore your background to see if you are legit.”
Truth there. I met up with a trucker, fellow Facebook friend, and in our conversation, it turned to mil-service. He as army. When I told him that I was 101st ABN, Jump Status era, he chose to tell me his “Airborne Story”:
Seems his trans unit needed to send one guy on some “special mission”. They grabbed him, told him to grab his weapon, his pack, and hit supply for ammo and a parachute. When he told them he wasn’t on Jump Status, they let him know that he would be trained, while in the plane enroute to the mission. He made his first jump with his weapon locked and loaded, cradled in his arms, and landed, “on the run”.
I told him that he was full of shit, that it don’t happen that way, and that I would have to know the mission to verify it. He said then that it was “classified”, and later in the week he unfriended and blocked me. I have let others in his circle of friends know, and they laugh at him and his “war stories”.

      • jarhead says:

Frankie Cee…by any chance would that have been Joe……as in G I Joe?

      • Tony180a says:

Frankie that would have been a neat trick pulling riser slips while cradling his weapon. There is no limit to the absolute bullshit stories these assholes will tell with a straight face.

  24. 2/17 Air Cav says:

A couple of observations. First, he was an E1. Do you think they just hand that sort of grade out? Second, he’s holding the sign. This is just a guess, but it’s probably a tad smarter to stake the sign in the ground. Third, a combat veteran lives where, in the tree, bushes, or on the lawn? I’m not clear on that part.

  25. 2/17 Air Cav says:

As my grandma used to say, nothing says born killer like an enlarged forehead.

  26. He was unfortunately a member of our veteran club. He was vetted based on a few service photos and became quite chummy then started walking around with his hand out for help all the time. We helped raise thousands for this piece of shit. After hearing a few Expendable stories where he killed drug lords and ran covert ops against the wiggles we requested on several occasions he simply provide his dd214 which he loudly protested. We then distanced ourselves from this fucking clown thinking he was just a punk ass glory whore. Never thought it would be to this level of bullshit.

    • Mike Kozlowski says:

…We had a guy come to work with us – briefly – who said he was a volunteer fireman, former USAFRES PJ, rode a chopper into NYC on 9/11, TDY with the Navy launching F-15’s off the carrier USS Omaha, and other remarkable tales. I listened politely for about fifteen minutes, then walked away to ask the leadership if any of that nonsense had been a factor in his hiring. Hadn’t, but they kept an eye on him and he stayed away from me once he found out I was retired USAF. He lasted all of about six weeks before he got 86’d for just not showing up.

    • TruthSeeker says:

      James,
I know all about your “Veteran club” it’s kinda funny how as soon as someone in the parent club does something you don’t like, you try to have them all attack the person. You have done it many times. However in the interest of fairness and hoping that this will be the first time; prove to us all that the “Club” raised and sent “Thousands” to Mayor; who has gone to bat for many of us many times before. (Note I am not naming the Parent Company of the “Club” your actions should not reflect upon them, or their products)

    • Let the Truth come out says:

      James,
I know all about your “Veteran Club” the main club that it is a part of, as well as the Company it is all created for. You have sent the “Berserkers” after anyone that you dislike. Mayor has gone to bat for many people many times and is now the latest victim of your slander. I find it funny how you are twisting at least 3 former members that I know of into him. However prove me wrong; hell show us all here that he in fact took “Thousands” from the “club”. If you have any proof to back it up with that is.

  27. Green Thumb says:

By looking at this maggot, I would keep an eye on him around kids.

    Just saying.

  28. just some feller says:

    So ……..

Izzat a subdued Expert Infantryman Badge above his left pocket? Sure looks like one to me …. but I’d have to see the details to be certain.

Hell, the USN might have some sort of badge of that particular rectangular shape and relative size.

Hmmmmm …. nope, not according to the Wiki page; no rectangular badges at all.

    • IDC SARC says:

looks like a subdued trident to me….the black pattern of the cammies obscures it a bit towards his collar.

      • 19D2OR4-Smitty says:

I believe he is talking about the EIB shaped device underneath the Trident

        • NECCSEABEECPO says:

Yep, I have been looking at it all day and it does look like EIB.

I guess he thought that the Navy Infantry class he did was same thing. DG-9700 is just learning how to shoot crew-serves off small boats. This was one of the courses that SBU had before SWCC. I would say that’s where the Clomobia shit came from,as they had a team take a bad hit in 96 on a river close to where we built a camp.

        • IDC SARC says:

Doh…I see that now. I’m not sure, because when I blow up the pic it rapidly becomes indiscernible. It is the right approximate dimensions for an EIB though, so that might be what it is.

It’s kind of strange though that the color doesn’t quite seem to be black, but rather a dark green.

          • Hondo says:

            Like this, perhaps?

            Or this?

            • IDC SARC says:

nah…doesn’t look embroidered at all. I’ve seen countless EIBs and EMBs in my time and still do (though they guys I’m around daily more often than not have CIBs, CABs and CMBs ) and like I said if it isn’t I have no idea what it is. It just looked …peculiar.

      • mr. sharkman says:

Somebody needs to subdue that tattoo off his shoulder.

Maybe we can donate him in a way, sort of a live tissue subject.

    • Grunt says:

Shit, I thought I was just drunk and my eyes were playing tricks on me. I saw that also.

  29. just some feller says:

    • Ex-PH2 says:

Oh, my! I wonder if he’s gone to the annual week-long wicca fest held by Circle Sanctuary? I see he’s a Druid. I’d have to ask if he’s Orthodox or Reformed Druid.

  30. Dominic says:

That’s some funny Shit! Those pictures are from my cousin’s wedding! Most of us were wearing camo. Dude preformed the wedding to! Never heard him say anything about being a seal. Hell, he was the only guy that was willing to wear camo and marry them.

  31. Viking Grunt says:

I don’t know. I keep looking for something that shows him saying “I was a SEAL” yet all I see is a tattoo, which there’s a lot of those showing up on people who run that battlefrog and bonefrog races. Maybe it’s just me. It also looks like he does that milsim thing that I have seen all over the place. As far as taking money, is there any proof? It seems like there are way too many questions for me to attack this person on.

    • Jonn Lilyea says:

You mean besides the SEAL patch on his uniform, right?

And I don’t give a rat’s ass about him taking money – that’s for the federal law, I’m not a federal prosecutor. Stolen Valor is whatever I want it to be.

      • Viking Grunt says:

SEAL patch? I see a lot of comments that say that there seems to be a cib. Maybe someone can find a better picture so that I can tell just what is going on with that blouse. Just looks like it has his name and US NAVY to this old man.

        • IDC SARC says:

You need to work on your reading comprehension. And get a refraction for those old eyes.

        • Sarah says:

He was “friends” of someone very close to me until my close someone finally saw through the bullshit and he definitely went around telling everyone we knew he was a navy seal and he fought in South America killing drug lords and that that is what caused him to have PTSD, which in actuality he’s just crazy. He also had papers he would walk around with saying he was a seal and shit. I’m glad people dug into this and can see the bullshit now.

    • 2/17 Air Cav says:

“It seems like there are way too many questions for me to attack this person on.”

Just wondering, Viking Grunt. Were you on the OJ Simpson jury?

      • Viking Grunt says:

No, I just have this funny idea that people are innocent until proven guilty. I know, it is not the cool internet thing.

        • Jonn Lilyea says:

          1. This isn’t a court of law.
          2. Do you even know what we’re looking at here?
          3. Do you see a CIB?

          • 2/17 Air Cav says:

Okay, Perry VG Mason. I’ll play. Let’s start out with that presumption of innocence. You do know that it applies in a criminal court, right? You do know that the standard of proof is beyond a reasonable doubt? You are familiar with civil court? That’s where people are accused of torts and where the standard of proof is lower. There the standard is clear and convincing or a mere preponderance of it, the 50.1% standard.Well, as Jonn says, this isn’t a court of law so NONE of those standards apply. The standard here is common freakin’ sense and anyone with a modicum of it can tell, with a cursory reading of Mr. Asshat’s own statements that he’s full of shit.

            • IDC SARC says:

Insignia aside VG…there’s also nothing in his history of assignments that indicates he was trained for or involved in riverine warfare. Which debunks his sole claim to being a combat veteran and suffering from intractable PTSD.

              • NECCSEABEECPO says:

DG-9700 was one of the old SBU schools, so he went to school with some of them and that is how he came up with the story.

                • IDC SARC says:

He has the NEC on the Form…but I don’t see a TEMDUINS on his history of assignments for it. Correct me if I’m wrong, but even if he had gotten that NEC it isn’t geared for the riverine specialty, more for serving on smallcraft assigned to a gator freighter. He would have attended further training in Riverine Warfare to crew with SBU. There no entry showing he ever completed such training, let alone was assigned to an SBU.

                  • NECCSEABEECPO says:

He went to school from USS Portland. From what I understood that was the first phase for Crew served off small carft tactics and back then SBU would recruit from there. They did not have Riverine schools just pahses that they went through. I had a friend that was a SBU pre SWCC and he came to the Bess and said our crew served training was way better than the shit the Navy had. We send our instructors to Marine Corps schools and then they train us. My buddie was with the team that took the hit on the River in 96 and this is where he herd the story, put money on it. They talked about it in the school.

                    • NECCSEABEECPO says:

                      Sorry phases. TBI

                    • IDC SARC says:

Yeah, we sent guys down range from SOTG.
I’m not sure how it worked with fleet sailors. Recon HMs used to have billets at SBU, but I never filled one and they got rid of the billets for us on SBUs, ST Group Medical, The Marine Mammal Program etc in the 90s around the time our pipeline came to be what it is now.

        • Jonn Lilyea says:

The IP address if Viking Grunt resolves to Warren, Ohio.

      • NECCSEABEECPO says:

@2/17, Its not hard for me as Jonn stated, he has a Trident on not qualified to have and looks like a EIB below that. He is also in the Type III NWU and Navy did not place that in service until 31 Jan, 2012. You have to go out of your way to find that uniform it is hard as it is a controlled item.

His time in service was 96-97. They did not have SWCC back then it was SBU. They wore BDU’s and so why did he not have that uniform, as he is not a big guy so he could probably have the same uniform he wore.

I know and was stationed with one of the SBU guy’s that was operating in Colombia at that time and this guy was not there. If he didn’t have the trident on and the Type III, I would be ok with the NSW thing, as he does have the DG-9700 school that was a requirement for SBU, before they came up with SWCC. The data base for SWCC only goes back to 2002, so he could have road that and even put the SWCC device on not the Trident e was trying to be to cool for school with the Trident.

    • Daisy Cutter says:

You’re absolutely right. Please take lead on this one, send Mayor a large sum of money and let us know how it all works out.

    • GR_ATC says:

What are you talking about? The emblems for the Battlefrog and Bonefrog Challenge Races are not even close to the Frogmen/SEAL tattoo.

      Tool.

  32. 2/17 Air Cav says:

Viking Grunt. You might also read the source site on this pretender. I don’t want to ruin the ending for you, but he’s as phony as a three-dollar bill. The implication presented by Mr. Asshat is that he was a SEAL, a combat Veteran, and God only knows what else. Personally, I wouldn’t mind setting off a box of m80s under his bedroom window, maybe using his sign as the base. I wouldn’t do it, though, for two reasons. It might bother his neighbors and it might be illegal.

    • Ex-PH2 says:

You left out the part about this guy lasting barely 7 months in the USMC, and was sent packing and then spent another 5 months in the Navy, which also sent him packing.

You don’t even get to screening for BUD/S unless you’re an E-5 in the Navy and the Marines don’t send people to BUD/S.

Face it – he’s just lying to get money and stuff out of people who are gullible enough to fall for his crap.

      • IDC SARC says:

“You don’t even get to screening for BUD/S unless you’re an E-5 in the Navy”

Wellllll….not trying to start an argument, but that’s not true and to my knowledge never was. We train SEALS/SWCC on FT Bragg, plenty of them come to us as non-rates.

        • IDC SARC says:

For my own NEC as an IDC and those in NAVSPECWAR yes, you have to to have to be an E-5 with at least two years time in grade. The GB’s removed the requirement to actually be a Sergeant to attend SFMS years ago.

      • NECCSEABEECPO says:

Not true, that changed in 2006, you can now go from boot camp. They now have a boot camp company just for NSW.You would be correct for his time in service back in 97

        • Ex-PH2 says:

Yes, Chief, but the 2006 change took place long after he left AD. He was in twice during 1997, then out. No way could he have been sent to BUD/s at that time, unless there were extenuating circumstances.

Speaking of “the source site”, did y’all notice that LebbenB posted a comment there? I was afraid LebbenB slipped the bonds of earth a couple of years ago. Glad he still walks among us…real glad.

    • Green Thumb says:

Just drop a steaming pile of Phil Monkress instead.

      Deadly.

  33. 2/17 Air Cav says:

“it is not the cool internet thing.” Hey, I think that was sarcasm. I really do. We’re all just a bunch of very cool internet travelers who could care less about wrongly accusing people of pretending to be what they are not and never were. Also, we get to do it anonymously (somewhat, anyway) so we throw caution to the wind and pillory the innocent and lambaste the saints. Yeah, it’s great fun. There, VG. Feel better now? (Cripes. Is this really lostcause or his creator, you know who?)

  34. Thatguythatknowssomepeople says:

O I happen to know that his family has reached out to the guys that called him out as a fraud and blasted him.. They have reached out several times and were told that he got out as a result of him bein sent to the nut ward where he failed to comply so they kicked his ass out… His wife appearntly is all about the lies and supports him with this chain of lies.. Oh and… I am pretty sure that Viking Grunt is actually William Mayor… The only person that is defending this tool bag… Everyone else can clearly see that willam is a total fake…

    • The Vesha says:

That is absolutely true. He left boot because he couldn’t cut it, he was returned to Great Lakes where he refused to comply. He was given a general under six months so that he would not progress to E-2. He served several sentences for domestic violence and it’s why he can’t own a gun or vote… great defender of this country ‘eh?

  35. Kilo3/7 says:

Have some Google love William Mayor, you cock tasting ass clown.

Since you’re a Fatass Recovery Agent, maybe you should go visit Phil Monkress and All Points Logistics and see if he has a job for you. Fucktards gotta stick together.

  36. Fjardeson says:

Jonn, can we have an IP/Sockpuppet Check on this Viking character?

  37. VIKINGSAREEXTINCT says:

Clearly Viking Grunt is William Mayor or his wife. Funny shit! Good thing not everyone is as stupid as the Mayors think that they are- or we would all have empty bank accounts. No matter how much you cling to a lie, it doesn’t make it true. Perpetual victims of nothing but laziness. And liars. Go Fund THAT.

  38. Hack Stone says:

This seems appropriate for this thread.

  39. HMCS(FMF) ret. says:

William “goo gobbling rump rider” Mayor = Stolen Valor seal.

  40. The Vesha says:

This is his “business” page. Note his phone number on the top right…. He offers anger management, which is funny coming from a man put in prison for domestic violence. Life coaching, also. You know, cuz his life is right on track.

  41. CATM says:

Judging by the Mjolnir around his neck, this guy is a follower of Asatru. Any Son of Odin would know that one of the values is HONOR and the punishment for living a dishonorable life is Helheim. Hope he enjoys the cold.

  42. Starbux says:

The frog skeleton looks like the symbol that Shipley used for his SEAL Experience Business. I bet that Don will have a field day with this guy.
