Kori Ali Muhammad commits “not terrorism” in Fresno

| April 19, 2017 | 54 Comments

Kori Ali Muhammad wanted to kill as many white people as possible yesterday in Fresno, California, luckily he only got that number to three white men while he shouted “Allahu Akbar”, that warm-and-fuzzy-feeling-producing phrase. The LA Times reports that police don’t call it terrorism;

Local authorities said they don’t believe the attack was an act of terrorism but are investigating it as a hate crime.

“If in fact he’s lashing out at white people — white males in this case — that would constitute a hate crime,” Dyer said. “We believe it is a hate crime, definitely a hate crime.”

The chief said investigators don’t believe Muhammad worked with anyone else in the attack, calling him “an individual that is filled with hate, filled with anger.”

The Associated Press graciously translated the “Allahu Akbar” to “God is Great” instead of quoting the Arabic phrase for those of us ignorant of the meaning.

According to Heavy, Kori Muhammad, previously known as Kori or Cory Taylor, has a fairly long arrest record;

According to federal court records…[he] was arrested in 2005 on federal drug charges and pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine base with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm with a prior felony conviction. He received 110 months in prison, along with 92 months of supervised release, which ended early in September 2016.

Yeah, supervised release. Fox News reports that police were looking for him prior to his little rampage because it looks like he shot a security guard the week prior;

Police had put out a news release hours before the shootings Tuesday, saying that Muhammad was armed and dangerous and wanted in the shooting death of a security guard at a Motel 6 last week. The guard, 25-year-old Carl Williams, was white.

Our buddy, Jim Hanson, still calls it terrorism;

He’s just a darker white skinned fella on his way to bible study from the orphanage he volunteers at

  2. The Other Whitey says:

And he had a gun, even though it’s illegal every which way for felons to have guns. Moonbeam better hurry up and pass another anti-gun law to make it illegal for him to break the law by illegally having a gun!

  3. Combat Historian says:

He was screaming “ALOHA SNACKBAR!” which according to AP translates as “Poi is GREAT!”…///

  4. QM1 says:

California’s great gun control laws at work preventing dangerous guns from attacking people…… oops.

  5. Bobo says:

This one and the school shooting last week didn’t get the same news coverage as other similar events. I wonder why?

  6. Ex-PH2 says:

Obviously, he just needed a job.

  7. 2/17 Air Cav says:

Another nut case with a grudge who kills innocent strangers and yelling aloha snackbar/whatever, as he does. That this was not an act of terrorism has all ready been decided. But…but….but the jury is out on whether this could possibly be (Dare I say it?) a hate crime. We can’t know that just yet. There will have to be a thorough and exhaustive investigation first. Cripes. Lunacy. Idiocy. Freakin’ morons.

    • Poetrooper says:

Cav, when it comes to sorting out matters of racial identity, language can be helpful:

A Zebra dies and arrives at the Pearly Gates. As he enters, he asks St. Peter, ‘I have a question that’s haunted me all of my days on Earth. Am I white with black stripes or am I black with white stripes?’

St. Peter said, ‘That’s a question only God can answer.’

So the zebra went off in search of God.

When he found Him, the zebra asked, ‘God, please – I must know. Am I white with black stripes or am I black with white stripes?’

God simply replied, ‘You are what you are.’

The zebra returned to see St. Peter once more, who asked him, ‘Well, did God straighten out your query for you?’

The zebra looked puzzled. ‘No sir, God simply said ‘You are what you are.”

St. Peter smiled and said to the zebra, ‘Well then, there you are. You are white with black stripes.’

The zebra asked St. Peter, ‘How do you know that for certain?’

‘Because,’ said St. Peter, ‘If you were black with white stripes, God would have said, ‘You is what you is.’

Is it now some sort of tenet that an “act of terrorism” requires some sort of outside affiliation? Seems to me someone commits a terrorist act it’s a terrorist act, regardless of to whom he e-mails. An application of the “walks like a duck, quacks like a duck. it’s a fucking duck” principle.

  9. OldSoldier54 says:

Well … Hate Crime is a step up from the Workplace Violence that murdered all those people at Ft. Hood. Progress, I suppose.

We know that California is run by Democrats, is Fresno? Only those idiots can stare right at a Velociraptor and swear up and down that it’s just a misunderstood fuzzy wabbit.

    • Poetrooper says:

Nope, they would declare it a protected species and divert more farmers water to its habitat…

    • timactual says:

The only reason it was called a hate crime instead of Islamic terrorism is that Muslims are not higher on the victimhood scale than blacks. Usually they refuse to admit that blacks are capable of hate crimes, but since Islam was involved, the black thing goes under the bus.

  10. farmgirl with a mosin nagant says:

So, something I am genuinely confused by: what is the dividing line between terrorism and hate crime in the minds of these officials and those like them? It keeps coming up and I don’t get it.

Is it the number of people injured? Because they’ve called things terrorism with fewer than 3 injured or dead.

The fact that he’s lashing out (was lashing out) at white men does not inherently seem to me non-terroristic. Nor does it seem to me that something cannot be both terrorism and a hate crime. Is there something in the legal code that says those two categories must remain inviolably separate?

Or maybe I’m just a dumb bunny today. Anyone able to fill me in here? Am I just being dumb by looking for answers where I shouldn’t?

    • OldSoldier54 says:

No, you are not a dumb bunny. Never assume reason and logic with the Left. That is alien to them.

    • 2/17 Air Cav says:

No, you’re not missing anything. Frequently confused and rarely used by medai any longer are the terms international terrorism and domestic errorism. Both are Federal crimes and both are defined in the US Code. Cailifornia doesn’t appear to have a crime called terrorism at all. The state does have a terror law but it goes to nuclear, cio, and chem weapons, or weapons of mass destruction. So, whether the Fresno police call it terror is legally meaningless. It has now become a game and has been one for some time. A drunk national guardsman running near a school in camo, full gear, and a toy rifle at 6 a.m. is charged with terroristic threat in West Virginia, and this POS is just another thug who hates whitey. It all makes you think you’re the one missing something, but you aren’t. Phuker is a terrorist if we say he is.

      • farmgirl with a mosin nagant says:

I appreciate the sanity check. Life with a 6 month old has me sleep-deprived enough to question things from time to time!

        • Poetrooper says:

          It’s actually rather simple, farmgirl.

The authorities check the perps driver’s license. If it says “white” or “caucasian,” it’s probably an act of terrorism and a hate crime. Then they check the perp’s voter’s registration and if it’s Republican, it is most certainly a hate crime and terrorism.

If the perp’s DL says he’s black and his voter’s registration says “D” it will be labeled a random act of community violence attributable to a long list of white-created root causes.

          Got it now?

    • My, My, My says:

      Are you Hot?

  11. 2/17 Air Cav says:

Cripes. I am a lousy copy editor.

  12. CB Senior says:

I have told many family members that if you ever hear “Allahu Akbar, duck and cover. Either some nut is looking to hurt or kill you, or you are going to get hurt by me on my way to kill some Son of a Bitch.
Talk a “Trigger Words” that one will get a lot of attention.

  13. 2/17 Air Cav says:

One last comment from me for some hours. The whole silly name game about what is labeled terrorism and what isn’t is, frankly, ridiculous. The media and many other progressive types learned to downplay terrorism over the course of eight consecutive years in order not to offend Muslims. That’s the whole of it. If there is a Muslim or Muslim sympathizer who kills wantonly, the first question asked is, “Was this an act of terrorism?” The pat reply is “we don’t yet know,” followed quickly by media inserting other factors, wherever possible, to mitigate the Muslim terrorist angle. Does it matter? Sure, it does. We are being ‘taught’ that what we see as Islamic terrorism isn’t that at all. Our thinking must be changed. That’s the aim. Get people, ordinary people, to adopt a more tolerant and nonjudgmental approach to what clearly are Muslim acts of terrorism. Resistance is not yer futile. Call a spade a spade and an apparent act of Muslim terrorism just that” Muslim terrorism.

    • Mick says:

The Associated Press has pitched in and done their best to help spin this incident away from any affiliation with Islamic terrorism.

“AP translates Fresno shooter’s ‘Allahu Akbar’ to ‘God is great'”

      http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/04/19/ap-translates-fresno-shooters-allahu-akbar-to-god-is-great.html

‘The Fresno shooting suspect accused of killing three people on Tuesday shouted “Allahu Akbar” when he was taken into custody by law enforcement, according to Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer – but the Associated Press made an editorial decision to print the translation of his words from Arabic to English: “God is great.”

The Associated Press tweeted on Tuesday afternoon with their translation, despite almost all other news outlets reporting what suspect Kori Ali Muhammad actually said.

      […]

The AP is taking heat on Twitter from news outlets, pundits and journalists for the editorializing, with some slamming the AP for downplaying the shooter’s Islamic ties.’

  14. Sparks says:

I don’t give a shit what the media calls it. When a guy takes on the name Kori Ali Muhammad and yells Allahu Akbar while proceeding to murder Americans of any color, he’s a terrorist. Period. A turd by another name still smells like shit.

  15. 1610desig says:

I’m going out on limb…he was a prison convert to Islam?

  16. Combat Historian says:

It’s possible he is a prison convert due to proselyting from the Saudi-funded wahhabi imams who specialize in prison inmates.

Another possibility is that he’s a minion of Calypso Louie and the Nation of Islam; Calypso Louie’s minions have a special hatred for white folks, so there’s that…

  17. AW1Ed says:

“Our buddy, Jim Hanson, still calls it terrorism.”

Far be it from me to argue with Uncle Jimbo.

  18. Bill M says:

    “…possession of a firearm with a prior felony conviction…”
    .
“… police were looking for him prior to his little rampage because it looks like he shot a security guard the week prior…”
    .
But, but, but he couldn’t have a firearm because he was a convicted felon and they aren’t allowed to buy firearms. Doesn’t he know the law? How could this be? Must have been somebody else… /sarc

  19. Ret_25X says:

4 more victims of the witless, feckless, anti-science, regressive left.

While Mr Mohammed may have pulled the trigger, the Commissars created him.

  20. Devtun says:

Apparently the exit of Bill O’Reilly at Fox News was way more important to the alphabet news networks.

  21. Skidmark says:

In Michigan we have a law “Ethnic Intimidation” passed in 1989, it is a 2yr Felony and considered a “Hate Crime”. If in public you make someone feel intimidated because of their race, religion, sexual orientation etc., you will be charged with this crime…that is if you are of a certain persuasion, it doesn’t work the other way. This absolutely fits in as a hate crime…this PC crap is old. If it walks like a duck…

  22. 2/17 Air Cav says:

And in news related to media bias visited here, there’s a gal named Gayle King. I never heard of her before today, but she co-anchors “CBS This Morning” with that human sleeping pill, Charlie Rose. Anyway, Gayle’s fellow newsies are not happy with her. She took vacation recently. So? So this. The vacation she took was with that POS who departed the White House in January. Yes, she and Bruce “I’m-too-old-for-this-but-I can’t-stop” Springsteen and Oprah “Now-I’m-fat-and-now-I’m-not” Winfrey, among others went a-yachting. Gayle, at least, is honest. She’s not afraid to spend time with those she supports, unlike most of the rest of the newsies. They just have to appear impartial! Yeah, Charlie Rose is the personification of impartiality.
