Manning is free

| May 17, 2017 | 131 Comments

BBC tells us that traitor and spy Bradley Manning has been released from Leavenworth Disciplinary Barracks;

In January she tweeted that she wanted to move to Maryland after being released, a state where she previously lived.

On Monday she tweeted: “Two more days until the freedom of civilian life ^_^ Now hunting for private #healthcare like millions of Americans =P”.

Manning will remain on active army duty while her military court conviction remains under appeal. She will have healthcare benefits but will be unpaid, the army says.

An online campaign set up by her attorney has raised $150,000 (£115,725) to pay for her living expenses for the first year after her release.

From ABC News;

Army spokeswoman Lt. Col. Jennifer Johnson confirmed to ABC News that Manning left Fort Leavenworth’s disciplinary barracks at 2 a.m. central time.

In an exclusive statement to ABC News, Manning said, “I appreciate the wonderful support that I have received from so many people across the world over these past years. As I rebuild my life, I remind myself not to relive the past. The past will always affect me and I will keep that in mind while remembering that how it played out is only my starting point, not my final destination.”

So they had to release him in the dark of night.

Well, at least former president Obama is comfortable, that’s all that really matters;

After he commuted her sentence, President Obama said, “It has been my view that given she went to trial, that due process was carried out, that she took responsibility for her crime, that the sentence that she received was very disproportionate relative to what other leakers had received and that she had served a significant amount of time, that it made sense to commute, and not pardon, her sentence.”

“I feel very comfortable that justice has been served,” Obama added.

If Manning is to remain on active duty, why is he talking about moving to Maryland? Wouldn’t he be moved to whatever duty station he’s been assigned and live in the barracks like any other soldier?

    • Entropy says:

Supposedly he/she/it is being assigned to Bethesda for his taxpayer-funded mutilation.

      • Instinct says:

That’s bullshit. None of that should happen until everything is decided and finished.

        Fucking scumbag POS.

      • MSG Eric says:

I doubt it’ll be done before the appeals court comes back with a determination. Even then, the Army can come up with lots of excuses to postpone it. They have any number of excuses to postpone anything that could be considered “beneficial” to a Soldier, indefinitely.

      • IDC SARC says:

I haven’t seen anything that says military facilities were going to do such surgeries. Last I read surgeries were to be referred to the civilian surgeons trained in such operations.

That’s a niche specialty and not part of routine surgical programs.

    • Just An Old Dog says:

      Sigh,,,,,
Manning is not going to be assigned to a base.
He is going to be on appellate leave. He is not going to be “in the Army”. He will be carried on the rolls until his sentence is confirmed.
He gets no pay or allowances. He has PX privledges, which I highly doubt he will take advantage of, and medical care.
The caveat to this medical care is that any treatment will have to be approved by the military before they foot the bill.
If Manning catches the Flu or gets in an accident he is covered. (think Jarret Otto Gimbl)
The article about him ” staying in the army” was really misleading.

      • Commissar says:

Thanks, Old Dog. It is good to get clarification.

It did seem pointlessly ridiculous that he was being retained “in the Army” given the circumstances. That would have been a mess for everyone. Including Manning.

    • Graybeard says:

“Honest, Sir, it fell out of the top bunk, hit the footlocker, and bounced down the aisle. We didn’t have a thing to do with it.”

So, I doubt he will spend any time in the barracks.

      • HMC Ret says:

Here’s hoping good soldiers don’t mess up a career by giving this guy a tune up prior to his being sown the door for the last time. There might be temptation to establish some credibility by kicking his ass, but, folks, it isn’t worth the calories necessary to do the job. Let him do his thing, knowing he has to live with himself. He will be kicked to the curb soon enough by the LGBT crowd when he fulfills his usefulness. I wish no physical harm to befall him. Neither do I hope he makes mint by writing a tell-all book that makes him millions.

OK, that just makes a preacher want to cuss. He should have to pay every dime of that to the families of those he hurt.

He is going to Maryland? He better not come to Texas. He‘s liable to find himself in a bloody pulp in a patch of prickly pear otherwise.

      “He is going to Maryland?”

Oh, out-fucking-standing. We have enough problems here in the PRofMD.

    • No-Balls says:

I am military disabled (US Army 1968-1971) and currently have a monthly income of approximately $3,xxx.00 which in terms annual income (including the very small social security checks my wife and I receive (my “entitlement!”) from the government is currently less than $40,K. I gave freely to our country by means of voluntary military service and semi-voluntary contributions to the Social Security System. My annual income including all VA and Social Security Benefits which I EARNED one way or another total well below $40,000. So, let me get this straight, if I let the Army cut my balls off (which don’t work all that well these day anyway) I would then be entitled to $150,000 annually. Let’s see, entitlements, such as welfare, medicare, Sect 8 housing, food stamps, WIC and many more government awards to those who have no vested interest in such benefits do nothing to earn such “benefits” (even come here illegally and you get some too) and on and on from there would yeild $150K but accepting the return of my own money that I either put in the pot myself for retirement years (Social Security) will never equal what my contributions and interest income would yield had I opened a simple IRA or Keogh or other social security replacement. Since I retired at age 62 I wanted to return to work. Returning to my prior occupation was not possible. I have been looking for a job since September 2012 with no luck what-so-ever. So, tell me where to ship my balls and I will send them Next Day Fedex and expect my $150,000 annual income to begin forthwith.

  11. Flagwaver says:

He’s still active duty. I’m thinking that he can kiss any hope of a weekend pass goodbye for the entirety of his short career. On top of that, I can’t see any slots opening in any schools for his retraining. So, I’m seeing nothing by the crapiest of crap jobs being assigned to him from before the sun comes up until close of business, and then pulling CQ every weekend.

On top of all this, he will be watched every moment of every day and any little thing will see some JAG-Off(icer) pumping him so full of charges that he will wish he were still in the disciplinary barracks.

    • USMC Steve says:

Assign him to Casual Company doing police calls and such.

    • MrBill says:

He’s in an appellate leave status and is not being paid, and he is not going to be assigned any military duties. He’s simply maintaining a technical connection to the military until his appeals are complete. Assuming his conviction and sentence (as commuted) are affirmed, then his punitive discharge will be executed and he’ll then be a private citizen in every respect.

    • MSG Eric says:

The nice thing is, he’s still a private, so there is no concern for him having to perform duties commensurate with his rank. (As with Bergdahl being a Sergeant)

I feel sorry for the chain of command that has to be in charge of him until the appeal’s court is done with their part.

    • Buckeye Jim says:

I expect just the opposite. Everyone involved will be worried about the PC police watching their every action.

      Glad I’m out!!!

    • David says:

good read… other than constantly calling him “she”. If it has a dick, it ain’t a she.

Think I read that while Manning is still considered active duty, it is only for PX/commissary/medical – he draws no pay, pulls no duty, probably isn’t even subject to AR 670-1.

    • AW1Ed says:

Thanks, good read. And why am I not surprised?

    • CPT11A says:

      Great background info.

I like his ultimate point, too. Despite stereotypes formed by civilians, the military is not 100% composed of 6’4″ uber jocks.

Sure, I knew a few. Most, however, even at IBOLC, were built kind of like me. 5’8″ on a good day, 175 lbs, relatively good shape.

The idea that overaggressive alpha males tormented Manning so viciously that he had to avenge himself by committing gross treason is a bullshit idea that only makes sense to the sort of dork that would work at ThinkProgress.

    • Pinto Nag says:

Why, or maybe the word is how, did Manning make it through Basic?

      • 11B-Mailclerk says:

How? Probably moral cowardice on the part of those who should have bolo-ed the wretch and kicked him out..

        • IDC SARC says:

“…the whistleblower was looking forward to finally being allowed to express her gender identity after years of prison restrictions that included a mandate on short haircuts.”

          Yeah…oh the horror…the horror…haircuts….ermahgerd

  12. WTF!!!!
Why is it moving to Maryland and not Frisco or NYC or Florida with all the other alphabet freaks ?
IT could tour as the guest of dishonor homecoming quee(n)r at the next gay day parade there, the east village in NYC and even Orlando
And why would anybody donate money to this overstretched traitorous pickle turd anal cratered orifice thang ? maybe they need to tax it and its donations as income tax.
So it’s bizznez as usual from our outstanding politicians since the Clintoon administration ,it has been, screw the veterans and the majority of the people and make happy the 3% carpet munchers/fudgepackers/genetically confused NAZI’s that want special rights and treatment beyond the average citizen, for being what ? freakazoids! so what’s next, amnesty for Bowie Birdsheit ?
I raise my 2 middle fingers and if it were possible my 2 middle toes also in a salute! to these fine caring patridotic politicians

    • MSG Eric says:

This is why people donated money. Oh and because, Transgender.

      • Yeah he’s a whistleblower….literally & figuratively ..as are many of the liberal hollywierd celebretards in this video, and Oliver Stone has been known to exaggerate, embellish and lie about his Vietnam experience for dramatic effect & profit….they forgot to interview John Kerry for this video. oh, and as a musician, I will never listen to anything with that egomaniacal-my shit doesn’t stink- ENGLISHMAN, Roger Waters playing on it, ever again, I never was a Pink Floyd fan in the 1st place anyway..over played..zzzzzzzzzz one of their earliest albums “Umaguma” is some of the worst shit I have ever heard in my 62 years of life, and the whole Sid Barrett was a musical genius, is pure bullshit, I play a far better guitar then anything that schizophrenic acid head jerk off ever recorded with Pink Floyd

      • Ex-PH2 says:

OKay, 45 seconds of that drivel was all I could take.

Note to all the Hollywood slackers:
This ain’t the 1960s. There ain’t no draft no more. Manning volunteered, pissed himself, couldn’t get out so he decided to piss on others.
So shut your pieholes and crawl back into your shoeboxes. You make me feel like upchucking right in your faces.
Geer, you look like shit. Stone, go fuck yourself upside down and sideways. And the rest of those queefers can crawl back into their crackwhore trash cans. They make me sick.

    • Sonny's Mom says:

Nobody who knows yhe facts would donate, but these people are part of a worldwide “Free Bradley Manning” movement. They had their own T shirts and posters and marches. According to the Democracy Now website, “more than 100,000 people… signed a petition urging Obama to commute the sentence.” Kinda reminds me of the “Jaharians”, a much smaller band of groupies who still think Boston Marathon bomber and death row inmate Dzokhar Tsarnaev is innocent.

  13. MSG Eric says:

“Sorry to wake you Sir, this is the Staff Duty NCO.”

    “What’s up?”

“Well, it appears Private Manning fell up the stairs from the first to the 3rd floor. It looks like after that he did the gender reassignment surgery on himself and didn’t make it.”

“Yeah? Okay, we’ll talk about it in the morning, or whenever.”

Sorry but Private Manning wouldn’t be leaving my installation for 30 seconds, let alone live off post. Especially in his current appellate status. He wants to talk to his lawyer? He can do that in a room in the barracks building. Plenty of meeting space in them.

  14. Guard Bum says:

I read that he will actually be on some sort of appellate leave as they sort out his Court Martial appeal since his sentence was commuted and he was not actually pardoned.

He would draw no pay and allowances but would be eligible for medical care.Personally I would like to see him marched in front of his last unit and have them all turn their backs on him as his insignia and buttons are ripped off his uniform and he is drummed out of the gate.

  15. Combat Historian says:

This repulsive little prick (insert pun here?) has at least 150K donated by fellow travelers squirreled away in his bank account for betraying his own country? Good grief…

  16. Wilted Willy says:

I hope they cut off his dick with a rusty bayonet that is very dull and dipped in cat piss before they do the deed? So I wonder how much Lars has put in this pussnuts little sparkle ponies go fund me page? I hope this fucktard is hung from the nearest tree and left for the vultures to pick clean! He is nothing but a traitor and should be shot!

  17. Ex-PH2 says:

  18. Reaperman says:

  22. FatCircles0311 says:

    What an afront to justice.

This is obviously Obama’s last fuck you to the US military and America.

    • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Indeed, but HE is now on the outside where his DD makes him COMPLETELY ineligible for any and all VA health care to get a “snip & tuck”, he’ll either have to finance it himself or bawl for donations. I’d rather see him succeed at suicide.

      • MSG Eric says:

Sorry but I’m leaning towards him NEVER getting that surgery. The Transgender thing was used to garner sympathy, he got it and in part his sentence was commuted for it.

There will most likely be an announcement that is highly publicized about Manning not being able to go through the surgery “currently” due to emotional stress and trying to deal with civilian life. Soon enough everyone will forget and done.

Regardless, Manning is still a scumbag traitor who was anything but a whistleblower and I wish they’d stop defending him with that. (Like just happened in a bit on Fox News about Manning’s release.)

      • Tallywhagger says:

Lorena Bobbit is still in the metro area. They say she does good work and has carry out service too!

  23. 2/17 Air Cav says:

I am altogether unclear how it can remain on active duty and not be paid. I’m guessing that the AD is for the snatch implant and balloon installation. Anybody?

    • Tallywhagger says:

I have read of cases where personnel have been called back to temporary active duty for purposes of military courts martial.

Sissyboy Brad has a judgment from a courts martial on appeal. It could be handy to keep him available for purposes of UCMJ.

I see Bradley returning to Leavenworth to fulfill the balance of his military obligation.

Some of the media faggots are referring to him as a “whistle blower”. He was blowing something but it wasn’t a whistle.

I think Obama must have self-identified with Bradley. Maybe they can touch-dicks while the chance remains. Bradley just about man-enough for ‘Bama. May their time together be satisfying.

    • MrBill says:

He’s in appellate leave status. He won’t perform any military duties. He’s past his ETS (plus total forfeitures were certainly part of his sentence) so he doesn’t get paid. However, since his punitive discharge has not yet been executed, and won’t be until his appeals are exhausted, he technically remains a military member.

  24. The Old Maj says:

I wonder if any of the family members of people that died because of his leak are looking for him to “thank” him cor his military service?

  25. Slick Goodlin says:

    Male, Female?

    Manning, the classic, “Mr. In-Between”.

  26. Jonn Lilyea says:

They should put that little E5, Jihrleah Showman, that beat his ass in charge of him for the duration of his appeal.

  27. OWB says:

Free is kinda relative here. Legally, he not quite free. (Of his own choosing.) He’s also carrying around a bunch of mental dysfunction. (Much of that is also of his own choosing.) The weight of his crazy must slow him down quite a lot.

    • Commissar says:

Exactly. I see it the same way.

All the time and energy expended on this board hating Manning seems like a waste.

Manning still has to live the rest of her life as Manning. That seems like it own punishment.

      • Hondo says:

Traitors (in the common definition, not the legal sense) tend to provoke a strong reaction from those who love their country. So the reaction here is normal and quite understandable.

  28. W2 says:

Free, free like a bird. I hope he lands on my window sill

  29. JimV says:

Does this mean that he doesn’t need to pass a PT or weigh in? How about Sharp training for “him?”

  30. Jim says:

Wonder what Assange and Snowden think of this? They three are of the same ilk, Manning is more or less free at the age of 30, Assange and Snowden are living in self imposed exile. Assange is easy to keep tabs on, would guess Snowden is constantly surveilled. They both must wish they had done a relatively short time of incarceration to regain a modicum of freedom, as did Manning.
Do you think Manning will work another day in his life, payroll or hourly? Many people of affluence are at one with him. Traitor? I believe a significant portion of humanity is amoral, and to them life is merely a game.
Wonder if Manning had his PID compromised?

  31. CPT11A says:

Honestly, I’m not even that miffed about the Manning thing anymore.

Those in, or previously in, the military are the best our country has to offer. For me, personally, outside of family, they are my favorite group of people anywhere on the planet. And while my contribution is many magnitudes smaller than the real heroes among us, I will always be able to hold my head high and know that I volunteered and did the honorable thing. It is one of the greatest honors of my life to know that I even remotely belong with this terrific crowd.

Manning does not get that. Yeah, he may seem like he’s a progressive dickhead who doesn’t care about such things, but remember, he’s mostly a weak, vain, narcissistic pussy who wants attention and praise. I truly believe that the truth of what he is torments him endlessly. Of all the things that crush his fragile psyche daily, the fact that he never belonged in the warrior caste is up there.

  32. The Old Maj says:

Amen, may you live forever Manning.

    • Hondo says:

Well, according to most religions he will in one form or another.

But if Dante’s description of Hell is accurate, his afterlife won’t be particularly pleasant. In his depiction Hell literally has a special place for traitors.

  33. Mike W says:

It will be THAT quick to get this POS chopped off, before a decision comes back? REALLY?

  34. TankBoy says:

“I feel very comfortable that justice has been served,” Obama added.

We used to HANG spies. Justice has not been served.

  36. Brown Neck Gaitor says:

Did Obama EVER tell the truth?

“…that she took responsibility for her crime”

Which is why Manning is appealing it?

  37. RCAF_Chairborne says:
