Cesar Lorenzo; phony Vietnam veteran

| May 27, 2017 | 40 Comments

The folks at Green Beret Posers Exposed discovered this fellow, Cesar Lorenzo, who claims the whole empanada – Ranger, Special Forces, combat veteran in the Viet of the Nam. In a video at Stories of Service he correctly tells his interviewer that he was born in 1954, but then he says that he joined the Army in 1968, when he was 15 years old (do the math, Cesar) and then he recounts his derring-do – you really have listen to it in order to appreciate the depth of the BS.

Here’s a teaser; he says he was in the 187th Ranger Battalion. He was also a POW and tortured for several days until he escaped and made his way back to US forces. But he doesn’t want to talk about it.

The Army doesn’t remember it that way;

Yeah, he joined seven years after 1968 in 1975, more than a month after Saigon fell to the communists. He was an artilleryman, so not Ranger or Special Forces qualified. His only deployment after 3 1/2 months on active duty, was to an Army Reserve unit in New York, not even close to Vietnam. He spent six years in the Army Reserves, got an honorable discharge as a Specialist (E-4) and then he shat upon his military career with tales of PTSD and heroism in a place where he never served.

  1. Frankie Cee says:

At Facebook he has CV and Sherry Klein as mutual friends.

  2. Combat Historian says:

If this guy was in MACV-SOG, then I was in Starfleet Special Forces…

  3. Hondo says:

Well, at least someone taught him how to wear a beret fairly close to properly.

FWIW: DPAA maintains lists of those all who DoD recognizes as having EVER been MIA or POW in Vietnam. There are three lists that are pertinent for those who returned alive: one lists all who escaped/were rescued from enemy custody; one lists all who were returned at the end of the war; and one lists all who have been accounted-for – including those who came home in a box. Those lists can be found at these links; anyone who returned from POW status would be on two of those links (the last and either the first or second):

    http://www.dpaa.mil/portals/85/Documents/VietnamAccounting/pmsea_escapee.pdf

    http://www.dpaa.mil/portals/85/Documents/VietnamAccounting/pmsea_returnee.pdf

    http://www.dpaa.mil/portals/85/Documents/VietnamAccounting/pmsea_acc_p_name.pdf

In particular, if this “fine individual’s” claims were true he would be on the first and third of those lists. No one with the last name “LORENZO” is on any of those lists.

A fourth list maintained by DPAA lists those whose remains have never been recovered:

Foc deese goy. He’s nothing but a LSoS culero pendejo.

  4. RGR 4-78 says:

Lorenzo needs to oil up his BS, it’s getting squeaky.

  5. Ex-PH2 says:

    What a tiresome BOOR!

  6. 26Limabeans says:

“He was also a POW and tortured for several days until he escaped and made his way back to US forces.”

Seems to be a rather common claim around here.

    • Mick says:

      Yup.

Phony POW again. In addition to all of their other poser bullshit, they also always want to claim that they were POWs.

      — sigh —

      It’s unfathomable.

After a strenuous, detailed review of recent phony POW claims, here’s my recommended updated phony POW claim statement for inclusion in the TAH Poser 101 SOP:

“Held as a POW in a Viet Cong Tiger Cage until he killed his guards with his bare hands and escaped to rejoin U.S. forces. In spite of his numerous physical injuries and severe psychological trauma, he was back in the bush leading LRRP patrols in the vicinity of Hanoi in less than a week.”

  7. Just An Old Dog says:

He has that 1000 yard stare down.
In his case, its probably 1000 yards of hobo pole he smoked behind a 7-11 dumpster.

  8. 91A1P says:

’68 ‘Nam and no battle stars on the VSM …

  9. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

I sure hope that Ex-OS2 is alive and well, but while he’s absent I’ll say:

    Cocksucker.

  10. Guard Bum says:

Who the fuck wears their ribbons on a jacket like that? Just screams poser..,

  11. Claw says:

    187th = Hamburger Hill

    101 Airborne/Ranger Tab = Deer Hunter

    POW/Tortured = Rambo

What else can we throw in there? At least he didn’t claim to have flown his Medevac chopper back to base camp after the pilot got shot and he had to take over the controls. A story like that has movie written all over it.

    Dumbass.

  12. OldManchu says:

On behalf of MSG Roy P. Benavides…

Fuck you Cesar you wanna be pussy poser!

  13. Ret_25X says:

I used to buy my ribbon rack for my “A” uniform on medals of america…great store…I never understood the concept of buying them to wear on civilians clothing.

As if wearing the damned things on a uniform wasn’t pain in the ass enough…

  14. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

IMHO Cesar Lorenzo has a thousand yard MEAT GAZER’S stare.

  15. Mick says:

    What, no motorcycle?

  16. 2/17 Air Cav says:

What, no PTSD? Strike that. He has it.

    • Mick says:

But what about these other poser necessities?

      – No leather vest covered in poser bling?

      – No POW/MIA tiger stripe camo doo-rag?

      – No service dog?

      – No SF tattoos?

  17. Poetrooper says:

There used to be a small bar and cafe just outside the commissary gate at Fort Sam named The Drop Zone Bar. It was owned by a retired Hispanic, Army Airborne NCO and primarily frequented by men of the same background including a number from Special Forces.

I’d have loved to have been able to take this ass-hat in there in his decked-out finery and introduce him around, especially to that old warrant who was a DMOR of the 187th.

  18. 13B/92S/02M says:

Another 13B with dreams of glory . I will submit his nomination for St. Barbara to Sill asap ….Telemundo just reported he will play “Cesar” in the New Planet of the Apes .

  19. Sparks says:

Shitbag! A Purple Heart and on this, Memorial Day weekend. When the families of some who died were often only given their loved one’s Purple Heart. You have NO shame you piece of shit…YOU!

    • The Old Maj says:

They will be coming out of the woodwork this weekend because of all the honoring ceremonies. Makes me glad I am leaving the country for a while.

      • Mick says:

        Yes indeed.

Memorial Day ceremonies and free chow for veterans at various restaurants.

The Stolen Valor posers will be out in force all weekend.

        • Green Thumb says:

          They already are.

Busted another General Discharge maggot two days ago.

Dude had some good stories until I inquired to his rank. No SSG. Only Private after 18-month enlistment. General Discharge = Shitbag.

This turd was trying to work an angle for free drinks. All about the night sweats and PTSD. Until called out then PTSD became “Push The Shitbag Down.”

He left in search of free drinks elsewhere.

          Maggot.

      • bg2 says:

My apologies in advance if this is the wrong thread in which to post, but I wonder: absent the sense of shame (which they do not have) don’t these people get that they will eventually be exposed? (From a non-military woman.)

  20. Green Thumb says:

    Maggot.

  21. HMC Ret says:

He hits all the right buttons. POW, all but me killed, killed an old man by mistake, etc. Seems to be reading from a script; his story should flow more spontaneously. Yeah, I ain’t buying his crapola story.

  22. I think he’s wearing the fourragere on the wrong side for the 101st Airborne.

Here’s a photograph of me wearing the fourragere, with my oldest biological sister, taken when I was on leave from the 101st Airborne, having just returned from two years in the old Republic of Viet Nam:
