Marine Colonel Kevin Scott arrested

| October 18, 2017 | 82 Comments

Bobo sends us a link to the story of Marine Corps Colonel Kevin Scott who was arrested in Polk County, Florida while he was on Temporary Duty there from his assignment at the joint staff in Virginia. The Marine Corps Times reports that Colonel Kevin Scott, a logistician, was arrested for soliciting for prostitution;

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told reporters on Tuesday that Scott drove a leased car, paid by the government, to the site where he allegedly offered a prostitute $80 for sex, according to The Tampa Bay Times.

“He said he was retired and he was no longer in the Marine Corps. That’s not true,” the newspaper quoted Judd as saying. “We had to call the government and say: ‘Hey would you like to come get your leased car, ’cause your colonel is on the way to the county jail.’ ”

According to the Tampa Bay Times;

Scott, 51, approached an undercover detective shortly after 11:30 p.m. Saturday and asked for sex in return for $80, according to arrest documents, which said he acknowledged using the website Backpage to locate and respond to an advertisement for sex.

He was released Tuesday on $500 bond.

So, that’s another hour added to your safety briefing this weekend.

“He said he was retired and he was no longer in the Marine Corps.”

He said it to avoid hitting the blotter, but he was more right than he knew.

  2. JacktheJarhead says:

So, Major, when are you going to put in your retirement papers?

  3. NECCSeabeeCPO says:

You do not brake the law in Polk county period. The sheriff does not screw around.

  4. River Rat, RVN says:

Actually he was being prophetic. What he meant to say was, “After this fiasco I’ll be retired and no longer in the Marine Corps.”

A litter bit more Recon there COL, and perhaps your plane would have succeeded.

  5. Mick says:

    This isn’t surprising.

I’ll just leave it at that.

  6. Ret_25X says:

    what a cheap bastard! $80?

Dude, you can afford to offer $100!

The problem is he thought TAD means Temporarily Divorced Asshat.

    What a maroon!

  7. Mason says:

I bet they’ll be more pissed that he drove the rental for non-official purposes.

    • Stacy0311 says:

I’m thinking DTS ain’t going to let him claim “bail” as an expense when he files his travel claim.

At least he used cash and not his Government Travel Card….

      • HMCS(FMF) ret says:

I see someone’s Government Card getting a very thorough audit… and someone having to pay back some $$$$.

Bet you this isn’t his first attempt at engaging practitioners of the world oldest profession.

      • MSG Eric says:

Not all prostitutes have the square for johns to pay with their card yet. It is a slow process distributing them to all. Only the elite prostitute units have them currently.

        • Hack Stone says:

And how do you learn of that bit of information?

          • Pat says:

That was my question. You guys who think like Colonel Bastard must have questionable character, not to mention integrity common sense and judgment. Too bad he gets to retire. Anyone who embarrasses The Corps like this should be run out of it
A Retired Distaff Marine Officer married to another retired Marine Officer for over 33 years. Guys that do this are scumbags most likely with serious self-image issues.

  8. Brown Neck Gaitor says:

Funny how the ones that appear to need the safety brief the most are the ones not in formation…

    Don’t drink and drive, check.
    Don’t do drugs, check.
Call your wife before you leave today so Jody can leave your domicile in time, check.
Don’t try to pick up hookers, ch… what?!?

  9. Ex-PH2 says:

Can I have my tax money back?

    • NHSparky says:

Just think about how much the taxpayer is going to save when he goes from O-6 retirement pay down to O-5 or even O-4, or possibly nothing at all if he’s given a dismissal (yeah, I know, unlikely.)

  10. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Now we’ll see “DO NOT cruise for hookers in a Government Rental Car!” Added to Weekend Safety Briefings.

  11. Jay says:

Even the look in his mugshot says: “I done fucked up”

  12. Combat Historian says:

Dumbass. That’s why the hotels you stay in for TDY have porn flicks you can rent on demand so that you don’t do dumbass shit like this…

  13. Tim says:

Not for nothin’ but you’re a MARINE O6. Why would you have to pay for it unless you have some non-verbal learning disability?

  14. Nicki says:

Did he try to pay her with a government travel card?

When I was working for DOD and about to go TDY, my boss warned me not to use my travel card at strip clubs.

    Like this is a PROBLEM????

  15. Graybeard says:

Keep your pecker in your pants, Colonel, and you won’t be seeing your name and picture plastered all over the interwebz for this kind of dumb stuff.

And you’ll save your family a lot of embarrassment. What part of Simper Fidelis do you not understand?

  16. 3E9 says:

We had one about 9 years ago in Charleston. Navy Captain, GOV, in uniform, going to a meeting at the Air Force Base around noon. Hooker/cop tries to cut him a break and told him to go away several times but he wouldn’t. Arrested. What a bunch of dipshits for O-6s we seem to have at times.

  17. 1610desig says:

Giving the Marine Corps a black eye

  18. FuzeVT says:

What the F$%k is it with USMC colonels right now? I guess I’m glad I’m just a dumb major.

  19. MSG Eric says:

Are there not groupies in Virginia that see a uniform and drop their underwear in 5 seconds anymore?

I heard when I was in my 20s, sex you pay for is cheaper than sex you get for free. Well, this dumbass colonel is making an argument against that, for sure.

  20. NHSparky says:

Officers fuck up, enlisted feel the pain.

So shall it be written, so shall it be done.

    • Redacted1775 says:

Ain’t that the truth. The former II MEF OpsO, Colonel Wilson, got 5 and a half years and a dismissal for sexual abuse of a child. On the other hand,a Sergeant on the West Coast got 39 years for similar crimes. Clearly a double standard.

      • NHSparky says:

I was think more on the order of DBPP “training”, but that works too.

I remember all the, “Don’t sexually harass people and don’t be rapey” training after Tailhook. Two things stuck out at me: (not those, you sick fuckers)
1–I didn’t see any enlisted in that gauntlet, 2–where’re all the khakis hiding out?

  21. Tallywhagger says:

What would OJ do in such a situation?

  22. RM3(SS) says:

Back in the day when I worked patrol, we did periodic stings like this.
The secret is, if the “hooker” has clean fingernails, it’s a cop. Don’t tell anyone.

    • Mason says:

      I’d ammend that to
      – If she has her teeth,
      – If she has no track marks,
      – Is she has no meth sores, or
      – If she is even remotely attractive,
she’s probably not a real hooker.

Feel free to print this out onto pocket-sized cards to hand out.

  23. Jeff LPH 3, 63-66 says:

A day out of San Juan PR, my first liberty port,Before I was shit canned out of M Div. and into A Gang, MMC Masterson down in main control says for me to keep my pecker in my pants and drink soda pop. As Curtis Sliwa of Guardian Angel fame used to say on his radio show-Keep your Rocket in your pocket,so whats so HARD about that???????

  24. Thunderstixx says:

    OUCH !!!!
He has the look of a lost puppy doggie.
Robin Williams comes through again !!!
Not enough blood for both heads to operate at the same time !!!

  25. scottinva says:

Whatever he faces from his reporting official pales compared to the jacking-up he’s in for from the wife.

You in a heap-o’ trouble, Colonel.

  26. Ex-PH2 says:

He definitely does not look happy.

  27. BigOne says:

I’m pretty sure that this is not the first time this guy has done this. But it will be his last time trying to pay for some poon as a Marine.

  28. Nastyleg says:

Inner MP comes out. In a fair a just military world he would be Charged with the following articles 88,89, 90, 92, 107,134,134-4,134-17. I am sure some ex officer MP’s out there know more articles or exactly what articles he is likely to face. My realistic expectations is this. A letter of reprimand. Full retirement, with benefits. I know reprimand are career killers but not necessarily the case.

  29. HMC Ret says:

The undercover stings I watch on cop shows have them going for s little as $10. She must have been fine. Or he was desperate and/or stupid.

  30. HMC Ret says:

I never felt the urge to be with someone who had been with hundreds of other men. Prior to marriage I restricted myself to women with a semblance of class. Post marriage, I restricted myself to the lady who said she would devote her life to me and me to her. It’s worked well for 46 years. Not bragging, just the way it is.

  31. HMC Ret says:

Orange Is the new khaki. The look on his face speaks volumes: “I f*^%$() up. How do I get out of this jackpot?”

  32. CWORet says:

Tried to pull this off in Sheriff Grady Judd’s county isn’t smart. He’s famous for snarky comments like this, I knew I’d heard of him when a read that comment in this case. In the Angilo Freeland case he was asked by a reporter why the suspect was shot 68 times (out of 110 shots fired).
“You have to understand, he had already shot and killed a deputy, he had already shot and killed a K-9 and he shot and injured another deputy. Quite frankly, we weren’t taking any chances. I suspect the only reason 110 rounds was all that was fired was that’s all the ammunition they had.”

  33. SFC D says:

    Bailiff! Whack his peepee!

  34. Rosalee says:

“He said he was retired and he was no longer in the Marine Corps….”

Since when is TDY considered retired?😂😂

  35. Hack Stone says:

To put a positive spin on this, a reserved Colonel parking spot at the Quantico Commissary just got a bit easier to find.

  36. Stephen F. McCartney, M.D. says:

The $80 fee is less than daily 0-6 per diem while on TAD.
So he technically was having the USMC (i.e the US taxpayer) pay for the prostitute’s services. “Lock ’em up, Danno…”

    CAPT Bones USN (ret)

  37. Starbux says:

Seems like a lot of full birds getting into trouble lately.
