Ronald Edward Bean; fake cop in Wasilla

Alaska Native News tells the story of Ronald Edward Bean, who presented himself as an undercover cop in Alaska at a traffic stop and later in a residential area;

AST received the 1st call-in early morning Friday reported that a man, later identified as 47-year-old Ronald Edward Bean, of Wasilla, had begun tailgating him and flashing his headlights on Vine Road near the Parks Highway in Wasilla. The victim reported that when he stopped at the red light “Bean got out of his vehicle, told him he was an undercover cop; he was under arrest, to produce his identification and attempted to deploy mace on him,” AST reported.

The victim reported that he was able to safely get away from the spurious traffic stop.

Then, minutes later at 7:15 AM, a resident on Pepper Street in Houston called and troopers to report shots fired at a neighbor’s residence. He also reported that the suspect, Bean, had pointed a firearm at him.

Bean, hearing the responders sirens, attempted to make his getaway but got his pickup stuck in the ditch. Immediately after getting stuck, Bean entered one of the residences, held the occupants in the building and stole clothing.

Troopers set up a perimeter around the residence and were able to get all the victims out safely through windows and the front door. Bean complied troopers orders to exit the building and was immediately placed under arrest.

It’s a jungle out there.

Alaska. I suppose you don’t have to be crazy to live there, but it helps. I used to watch a TV show or two about building off the grid in Alaska. Off the grid? More like off the planet. Another TV show about Alaska was called Alaska State Troopers. The head of that agency took his dept off the show after two troopers were shot and killed. Everybody there is armed, which is fine, but what’s not fine is that so many there are armed and drunk.

Since when does Alaska have a grid to be off of?

      • Twist says:

Yes we do. We even have Starbucks. I remember being at my local Safeway and hearing a couple of tourists remarking that we have Starbucks. My thought was “no shit lady. Do you think we all get around on dog sleds and live in igloos?”

After having been stationed at Fort Richardson for 9 years and living in Wasilla for a period of time (a daughter and her family still live there) I can tell you that all of those “Alaskan” shows on TV are pure bunk. In one case the supposed Bush family lived within walking distance of a pizza parlor.

Wasilla is a big city now with big city problems including horrible traffic, rampant meth and heroin use, domestic violence, and theft. I was up there last summer and it was beautiful but I am not sorry I left.

There are some who live in the bush but if they are off grid around Wasilla its because their power was turned off.

I actually got called to jury duty for that trial. I was dismissed from jury duty when the defense found out that 2 of my siblings are Indiana State Troopers.

“held the occupants in the building and stole clothing”

So the guy is not only a fake cop he is a cross dresser as well. I have read that the urge is powerful but geeez dude it’s not something you do while running from the cops.

Is it something about Wasilla? Seems to me another slightly screw-loose family comes from there…

Dude needs to lay off the fire water

  9. Make Mine Moxie says:

There really aren’t that many cops in AK, takes a real winner to think he can impersonate one. Given the number of guns in cars and homes in AK, it is amazing this clown wasn’t shot either streetside or after he invaded a home.
