Ronnie Lee Yocum aka Ron Norris; phony Vietnam veteran

| March 23, 2018 | 95 Comments

Someone sent us their work on this Ron Norris fellow who claims to be a Vietnam veteran of the Marine Corps variety.

Of course, there’s a motorcycle and a vest involved;

Here he is quoted in the Muskogee Phoenix;

Ron Norris remembers being under Viet Cong artillery fire for 72 days in 1968 at Khe Sanh in Vietnam. He was in force reconnaissance with 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines.

This week, Norris came to the Muskogee War Memorial Park to see “The Wall That Heals” is a 250-foot replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Seeing the Vietnam moving wall means a lot, Norris said.

“We’re bringing something to the people who didn’t know anything that happened from 1968 on,” Norris said.

Well, he’s much more proud of his service now than when he was in uniform. He was a Marine during the Vietnam War, for about nine months, more than two of which he spent as a deserter; he took leave in July and didn’t come back until September.

He spent the last three months of service in confinement and awaiting his discharge – no Vietnam service, no combat action, no Purple Heart.

He’s kiddie toucher, too;

FFS…..a Marine poser. That’s the first one in a while, right? Love the belt buckle in the dress C photo asshole.

  2. 1610desig says:

No shoes…hands in pockets….and looks like that Xmas tree has the only legitimate ornaments, but then again, it is probably fake as well

  3. RCAF-CHAIRBORNE says:

I hope someone uses this kiddie fiddling paedo as a reactive Fig.11.

  4. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

    Cocksucker.

  5. Non Cedo Ferio says:

I’ve been on here for a while and over that time I’ve seen a lot of jokes about motorcycle vests and posers. What’s up with that? For example. We just had the wreaths for warriors walk event in Fort Stewart this last Dec. we had a lot of Veterans organizations there like the Legion Riders, PGR, and Combat Veterans MC. Now I’m not a biker but I thought their outfits looked pretty cool. I don’t own a vest but I got a flight jacket with patches I pull out from time to time. I don’t think the vests look trashy or that these vets are posers. I think if that’s how a biker club chooses to show pride that’s cool. Guess I’m not as anti vest , doo rag and service dogs as some. I’m not trolling. I’m asking if I’m missing something. Thanks.

    • QMC says:

I’ve got two cruise jackets that I wear every once in a while as well. Of course, there’s no Navy SEAL patches that accompany both ship’s insignias and the multitude of country flag patches from port visits.

I guess the big thing is that from many of the busted posers here that are affiliated with many of the biker groups and whatnot, have a plethora of odd looking materials decorating their vests (Ranger, Recon, SEALs, Green Beret, etc.). More often than not, if something looks off and not right, it usually is. Take a look at this guy’s photos as an example.

    • Graybeard says:

I believe it goes back to a string of posers we had on here a year or two back who claimed the patches on their motorcycle vests were to “honor” those who had really earned them. The poser(s) and associate sockpuppets made a big deal out of it, and so the meme of doo-rags, vests, motorcycles and dogs became associated with posers.

Although not all those who wear the vests and ride the motorcycles and have dogs are posers, a lot of posers have the vest, bike and dog.

    • Stoutguy says:

I think the context it is used in has to do with the fact some of these guys say someone misunderstands them and their service. But the misunderstandings carry no value and they are truly posing by wearing something they didn’t earn.

    • The Stranger says:

We’re not anti-vest, dog, or do-rag. We’re anti poser wearing vest and do-rag scamming service dogs from deserving veterans. It’s just that these clowns always seem to dress the same, almost like they have a checklist.

      • rgr769 says:

Yes, many of us have all that stuff, but don’t run around claiming daring do we didn’t do. Although, most don’t likely have a fake “service” dog, I would hope.

  6. Combat Historian says:

Ronnie Lee Yokum: AWOL. Deserter. Shitbag. Liar. Poser. Pedophile. Criminal. Felon…

    Did I miss anything?

  7. 2/17 Air Cav says:

This POS covered all the bases. What a despicable hunk of sludge. Congrats, Ronnie Lee Yocum. You now have the fame you desired, although I’m taking a shot and guessing this is not the way you wanted it.

  8. MCPO NYC USN Ret. says:

This guy reminds me of Bernath in MANY ways!

  9. OWB says:

Another one associated with the Traveling Wall. Not good.

  10. Hondo says:

Wonder if he’s related to this guy?

  11. Guard Bum says:

That is a lot of money to shell out to support rocking a lie like that. It must just burn into his soul that he was found wanting as a man back in the day.

  12. Jeff LPH 3, 63-66 says:

Could he be the son of pipe smoking Mammy Yokum who hung out with L’il Abner.?

  13. SgtM says:

Ronnie Yokum is a turd. He is wearing rank and a hashmark he did not earn. He likes little kids in a sick way. Deserter, pedophile, valor thief and a liar. Nice life you made for yourself Ronnie Yokum.

    • rgr769 says:

I was leading a rifle company in the Viet of the Nam most of the time this asswipe was in the Corps. I’d like to rip off those stripes and that ribbon rack and make him eat them.

    • Joseph Williams says:

Ronnie Yokum is wearing my Dress Blues Blouse. I earned mine he did not come anyway close to honorably wear. A Deserter and Pedophile is not a Marine. Joe

  14. 2/17 Air Cav says:

Weasel Yokum strikes me as the type who would call Jonn and beg that the post be removed not for his own sake, you understand, but for the sake of his family. Weasel would then relate, while choking back crocodile tears that his poor wife, children, grandchildren, (fill in the blank with an innocent) don’t deserve this. We’ll see.

  15. Mick says:

    Oh. Hell. No.

    Assclown.

  16. Skyjumper says:

    I’ll never understand these wannabee’s.

By looking at their social media postings & pictures, many of them seem to have had held good paying jobs, own nice houses, have expensive cars/boats/motor cycles, very attractive wives, etc. Seems like they have the world by the ass, but yet they pullout & show-off their phony unearned military patches, rank, medals, badges and embellish their military history (if they even have one) to empress the people they surround themselves with. I truly don’t understand their mindset, and probably never will.

And, the last two days we have had two phonies that belong to the Patriot Guard(Donald Kimball & this clown Ronnie Lee Yocum aka Ron Norris). You would think that the minimum that the Guard could do is vet these people properly.

Right now, I’m in the process of composing a couple of letters to be sent to the Patriot Guard National Headquarters & these dicks local chapters with links to TAH and ask them what the hell gives. I’m noy holding my breath for any responses, but if I do get any, I’ll will post them here.

These people truly piss me off!

On an aside note, when a FOIA is sent in on someone, do they just send out a copy of a DD214 or do they also search for any DD215’s for that person?

Oh yeah, Fick Dich Ronnie Lee Yocum aka Ron Norris!!

    • Hondo says:

The answer is – that depends. (smile)

In general, you don’t get a DD214. What the NPRC clerk appears to do is go through the file and summarize the service on a National Archives form (NA form 13164). On those occasions when you do get a DD214, it’s heavily redacted – much of the info on a DD214 is not releasable without the individual’s consent. Two of those non-releasable items are nature of discharge (e.g., entry-level, honorable, general/hon, general/OTH, bad conduct, or dishonorable) and the reason for discharge. Yeah, I’m kinda scratching my head over why the type of discharge is non-releasable too.

In contrast, redacted records of assignments and ERBs/ORBs are often provided.

DD215s, as they were a correction to a previously-issued DD214, should be in the file and should thus be included in any records review. However, some clerks apper to do that better than others. I’d guess DD215s are sometimes present but are overlooked.

    • E4 Mafia For Life. says:

I sent away for an official copy of my records from NPRC several years ago.
What I got back looked like something that fell behind a filing cabinet at a construction site office trailer in the 70’s then used as a page marker in a Sears catalog in the lingerie section.
They didn’t include my 215’s or anything like orders, training, etc.
I keep my original ones – scribed on leather – in my safe.

  17. USAF RET says:

No way!!! Oh, wait. I thought it said “Chuck” Norris…..continue pummeling this shirt-lifter

  18. Flagwaver says:

Nothing says “I’m a Marine” quite like a picture of your hands in your pockets while in uniform.

  19. Grunt says:

Fuck absolutely everything about his poser shit.

Dude is a convicted child molester.

He could have the MoH and burning in hell wouldn’t be punishment enough.

    Fuck him.

  20. Green Thumb says:

    Ticklemonster.

    Substandard Discharge = Shitbag.

  21. Ret_25X says:

This guy brings up another observation I don’t get…how many of you guys dress up in old uniforms and take pictures of yourself?

I don’t get it…I didn’t like most of the dress uniform permutations before I retired…I can’t even imagine the reason I would wear one now just to take a picture for facebook…

Heck, I didn’t even like the occasional ceremonial events when I had to wear it…one of the reasons I decided to exit the vehicle so to speak…LOL

  22. Patrick408 says:

I do give him credit for E-5 in 9 months (lol) but I’m surprised he’s not wearing a couple Navy Crosses or at least a Silver Star. Love the comments on his uniform fuck ups like his belt, tie clasp and bare feet ect.
It reminds me going through a uniform inspection in my Alphas and I had to borrow my bigger buddies jacket so i had to blouse it in the back with my belt and the Navy officer said my uniform looked great, not knowing i was totally out of spec.
Semper Fi and Fuck You Mr. Yokum you don’t deserve to wear shit!

  23. Skyjumper says:

Annnnnnnnnd Ronnie Lee Yocum’s (aka Ron Norris, aka as a convicted pedophile, aka as a phony Purple Heart recipient, aka as a fake Marine MARSOC, aka as a fake Viet Of The Nam vet, aka as…. the list keeps going on and on and on) Facebook page is shut down.

    Imagine my surprised face! /s

  24. Atkron says:

    Fuck this guy

  25. USAF RET says:

google this prick. his arrests include:
    Dealing In Stolen Property
    Sexual Child Abuse Afcf
    Sexual Child Abuse Afcf
    Child Abuse (85 Percent)
    Sexual Child Abuse, Afcf
Lewd Or Indecent Proposals/Acts To Child
And that was only one website in Oklahoma.

  26. Just An Old Dog says:

Fucking being a pedo explains why he tried to hide his name.
Small correction. He didn’t do any brig time.
He was in the “casual unit” of the Infantry Training Regiment which was was often the place where they would send shitbags that were UA/ Deserters they just wanted to ad-sep.
Looking at his record he got injured when training at ITR and was on med hold, then allowed to go on leave.
He went AWOL, then deserter than more than likely turned himself in. Once in they put him on shit detail and processed him out administratively with a General Discharge.

  27. OldManchu says:

Bradley Manning reads this post in the blog and says “oh… if only I were 12 years old and lived next door.”

  28. 11 Bravo says:

We could not put our hands in any pockets, of any uniform. Army, 1969 to 1971.
I hate these Ass Hamsters. Get a life.
    Piece of dried dog dung.

  29. KillerB says:

Can anyone make out the ribbon bar??? I know I need glasses now, but is the top ribbon he claims a Silver Star??

    • Claw says:

No Silver Star. Top ribbons are the Purple Heartx2 and Combat Action Ribbonx2.

    • Claw says:

The remainder of what he is claiming (as near as my eyes can tell) are:

      Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal
      Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal
National Defense Service Medal x 2
Vietnam Service Medal w/three Campaign Stars
      Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device
      Drill Instructors Ribbon

But what I find most ironic is that this Dumb Ass was exposed as a complete phony and kiddie toucher on his frigging birthday./smile
