Marilyn Chambers Found Dead in Trailer Park

| April 13, 2009

From mega-star to trailer park; that’s a fall right there.

NBC Los Angeles has the story:

Famed adult film star Marilyn Chambers was found dead in her home in the Canyon Country area, authorities said Monday, and an autopsy was pending to determine how she died.

The 56-year-old Chambers, whose real name was Marilyn Ann Taylor, was found dead around 9 p.m. Sunday in the 16000 block of Vasquez Canyon Road, said Assistant Chief Ed Winter of the coroner’s office.

Chambers broke into the porn industry by appearing in the 1972 film “Behind the Green Door,” which was the first widely released pornographic film in the United States.

Her appearance in the film cost the then-aspiring model and actress her job as Procter & Gamble’s Ivory Snow detergent girl, appearing on the soapbox with a baby and the caption “99 & 44/100% pure.”

BTGD was my first porno ever! (does that date me?) Too bad porno has lost it roots in story and romance (really…romance?).

Today’s porno is all about; “{knock knock} Pizza guy!””Ooooo, the pizza is here!””Hey, I got a big dick”……bang bang spooge. The end.

No imagination. No “hey, I could do that with my girl/wife/concubine/pony/niece”. No cheesy music that anchored itself in the American vernacular. No actual storyline, or even an effort to be a story/fantasy/nightmare/jack-off session memory.

Ms Chambers will be sorely missed…and has been by at least myself these many years 🙂

She has my regrets. I certainly hope that her passing was not the result of criminal activity. I’ll admit that I’d enjoyed her “sexploits” in my youth. [A Libertarian is a Conservative From the Waist Up – a comment from a True-Catholic colleague of mine at work].

Who knows? Maybe her passing will cause the re-release on DVD, or Blu-Ray, whatever, for excellent OLD PORN! I’m fairly CERTAIN that TSO will join me in this Obamaesque HOPE. Although, like, presumably TSO’s new (and presumably ACTUAL girlfriend – Japanese robots NOT allowed) girlfriend, I think my wife of 30+ years would NOT be amused by my “homage” to a true cult heroine.

RIP, dear Marilyn Chambers. I’ll do my utmost best to remember you in my dreams!

BTW, somebody DO something to shake Liberty Peak Lodge out of whatever has caused him to quit posting. Posting Marilyn Chambers excerpts SHOULD encourage him to “get back in the action,” if nothing else! I certainly hope (not the Obama TM) that he is doing well.

Jonn, COB6, and TSO, as far as THA goes, I don’t actually want you to post porn on your site (it would harm your reputation), but do continue to encourage Liberty Peak, Scmaltz und Grieben (both “tasteful nudity”), Doc Weasel (or whatever, who seems to have disappeared from your Blog Roll), etc., to continue in their endeavors!

    Cheers!

I keep thinking about how tragic the ending of the movie The Wrestler is — his movement from stardom to the trailer park was so unsettling.

Now we have a real-life episode of this — it’s very sad. My condolences to the family. May Marilyn find peace in the world beyond.

  5. streetsweeper says:

Just so you know, she is survived by a seventeen year old daughter.

  6. GreRee says:

From what I understand, it wasn’t exactly a “trailer park.” The trailers are actually modular homes, and the cheapest ones go for about $250,000. She wasn’t doing too bad.

  7. UpNorth says:

GeRee, $250K in a home in Ca. isn’t much. Even with the depressed property values these days.
OTOH, bye Marilyn, used to watch her all the time on HBO and Cinemax, before I cancelled those two dreck networks.

  8. streetsweeper says:

Oh, fer Jesus H Christ’s sake…..“From what I understand, it wasn’t exactly a “trailer park.” The trailers are actually modular homes, and the cheapest ones go for about $250,000. She wasn’t doing too bad.”

Dude…..WTF? Does that comment justify the end of her life for crying out loud? Get f’ng real….yeegads. Wait, never mind. You might of had a wet dream or two and commenting on her facebook pages?

Doesn’t help her daughter whom is gonna eventually be exploited to no end one way or another.

Maybe I missed something, but where does it say that she died in her mobile-home/trailer?
