About Us

Before you read the rest about the authors here, understand that this blog is what it is because of the folks who contribute here. Before you judge us by our blog posts, read the comments. Folks agree with us and disagree with us, and we welcome it all. When ever I do interviews with the Old Media in regards to what we post, the journalists always ask me about what our readers think – that is our strength. Veterans’ opinions are far from monolithic, and every opinion is valid – and we celebrate that here.

We are Jonn Lilyea, COB6 and TSO. COB6 was a platoon leader and Jonn was a platoon sergeant (of different platoons) in Charley Co. 1/41st Infantry in the 3rd Brigade of the Second Armored Division Forward which was attached to the 1st Infantry Division during Desert Storm. TSO and Jonn met in the maelstrom of IVAW’s Winter Soldier hearings in Silver Spring, MD.

All three of us have Combat Infantry Badges, all three of us have served in the US Army Infantry in combat. Now we’ve all teamed up to fight another entirely different evil.

Sporkmaster, a combat veteran of the war in Iraq with a Combat Action Badge, is still on active duty and is currently attending M6 School at Fort Sam Houston.

Hondo served in the Army (regular or reserve) under every POTUS from Carter to Obama. He’s a veteran of Afghanistan and Iraq. He’s now a grey-area Reserve retiree.

TSO began his blogging at The Sniper, and currently manages The Burn Pit for The American Legion.

COB6 also blogs at Blackfive.
