Napolitano: OK, you’re safe now (Updated)

| December 27, 2009

A besotted TSO gave us a heads up from the bar in the St Louis airport about the following video.

Disregarding the fact that a message about an impending attack was posted on a Yemeni-based al Qaeda website, Janet Napolitano denies that the incident was an indicator of a larger plot, and that as long as we, the traveling public, continue to do the government’s job, we’ll all be safe.

When Crowley asks Napolitano how Abdulmutallab got through security with a fricken bomb, Napolitano says there’s no evidence he was improperly screened. WTF? If he got through security with a bomb, he was improperly screened, numbnuts.

Even though Abdulmutallab’s father warned the US State Department that his son was planning something, Napolitano said it wasn’t enough to move the clown from a big list to a smaller list (as if the size of the list is another excuse for the government to abrogate their responsibility). Why is there even a list if technology at Homeland Security is less functional than my Outlook search feature? It looks like TSA baboons could “Google” a name and get a more accurate result than using the TIDES database.

Napolitano is a national treasure and now she can now get back to finding right-wing terrorists with SPLC’s help.

UPDATE: Ditz says “What?”

Nothing to see here cause according to Juan Williams this morning on Fox Sunday we “know he was a lone wolf.”

Hey, only took 3 hours to notify The One. yet people will still talk about Bush on 9/11…

  2. AW1 Tim says:

This is one major reason that I refuse to fly when other modes of transportation are available. I have over 5K hours of aircrew time with the US Navy. I’m not concerned about safety so much as I am disgusted with my nation treating ME like a threat.

I am no longer willing to put up with the searches, questions, and general bullshit uttered by bottom-feeding rent-a-cops pretending that they actually give a shit about security.

I am no lonbger willing to pay outrageous prices to be treated like a piece of meat packed into a cattle car.

I get much better service and respect from Amtrack and Trailways than from any airline I’ve flown in the past 5 years.

  3. OldTrooper says:

Don’t worry, Janet is on top of the tea party types, where the true threat is. Also, she has her hands full watching those Vets as they may be up to no good. Oh shit, that’s me!!! Nevermind; we’re all safe now. Not that there’s anything of a terrorist slant she needs to worry about.

All it would have taken is for the chemicals to mix properly, which thankfully they didn’t, and there would have been a lot of ‘splainin to do on her part. Maybe we need to hire a bunch of Dutch tourists to watch the flights, at least they are on top of the real threat.

  4. UpNorth says:

“I get much better service and respect from Amtrack and Trailways than from any airline I’ve flown in the past 5 years”. And Amtrak’s seats are the equivalent of first-class seats on an airplane. But don’t take a gun with you on Amtrak.
We recently returned from Hawaii, my carry on was in violation, as I had a 12 oz bottle of sunburn relief in it, no one asked me about it, no one mentioned it. I wasn’t even aware of the thing til we unpacked.
At least, I didn’t get a note in my suitcase from TSA. And, I resent the questioning, I bear no resemblance to any of the people of 9-11, or the shoe bomber, or Hasan.

  5. Jonn Lilyea says:

Another Nigerian on a flight with the same number as the first caused another ruckus. So that system of punishing the innocent is working well.

  6. Toothless Dawg says:

napolitano sez the threat was stopped before any damage could be done?????? You have got to be shittin’ me … if the terrorist hadn’t been such a dumbass and actually mixed the explosives properly, the plane would have been scattered over several neighborhoods on the approach to Detroit. The damage WAS done … the explosives just did not detonate to the extent he wanted.

As for the nigerian who locked himself in the head in the article John posted above … several shots thru the door would probably have resolved the threat

  7. OldTrooper says:

Actually, Dawg, ripping the door of the head, on an airplane, off is rather easy, so I’m sure he would have had a different take if someone would have just pulled it off and beat the living shit out of him.

  8. TexasFred says:

Calling Nappy *numb nuts* may be a lot more appropriate than intended… She? may have a set stashed in there somewhere…

And she IS an idiot, regardless of her? anatomy…

  9. Toothless Dawg says:

    Trooper,

That works for me!!! But I’d like to stuff and flush the bastard out of the aircraft looking like a smurf …

  10. Scrapiron says:

Janet Mybrainisnapping can hear the wheels of the bus turning and turning. No way the dumbest POTUS in history will take the heat for this one.

  11. OldTrooper says:

My main concern is how the hell the new rules are going to do anything to “mitigate” shit? What they have enacted is like shooting your neighbor because your dog ran away. It may make you look like you are doing something hardline, when it really has no bearing on what happened to begin with, or to prevent your next dog from running away.

She expects the general flying public to do her fricken job for her, while she smiles and says we’re now safe.

Here’s an idea for this administration: Forget the PC bullshit and pull your fucking heads out and start doing your fucking jobs.

  12. B Woodman says:

Excuse me? Ummm, wasn’t one of the results of the 9-11 supposed to be that all the fed dot gov agencies were supposed to talk to each other, to share information with each other? Couldn’t the State Dept tell the TSA and the CIA (who would maybe tell INTERPOL, who would maybe have caught this asshole in Amsterdam?) to be on the lookout for this muzzie? I thought billions of our tax dollars had been spent creating a HUGE computer database where everyone could put info in.

    WTF!? Over.

  13. AW1 Tim says:

Leftists, like the filthy, lying Marxist in the White House are not about actually DOING anything. They are all about APPEARING to do something.

See, that’s all they can do, is appear to do something, because not one of them has the education or skill set to actually DO something.

They are more than happy to tell everyone else what must be done. they’re just criminally short on functional abilities.

  14. Debbie Clark says:

BWoodman (#12), I think it’s because they’ve been busy stalking people with little yellow “Don’t Tread On Me” bumperstickers, antiwar activists (somebody should have clued them in that TAH already had that part covered), people who oppose Obamacare, and, most dangerous of all, the V-word – Veterans.

You see, that is what Homeland Security needed the huge computer database for. Yes, I’m sure I’m in there and, no doubt, by this point, you’re in there, too.

Better watch out…they ain’t Santa Claus.

    Merry Christmas.

  15. TSO says:

Wouldn’t I be on there? Because I got through no problem, although on the way there they did nearly confiscate my Gold Bond.

  16. NHSparky says:

TSO–wonder what they’d do if you tried to bring on a bottle of Anti-Monkey Butt Powder.

  17. Debbie Clark says:

TSO, I was being a little tongue-in-cheek (can’t resist sometimes) and shouldn’t be taken too seriously, LOL. I’ve actually never had any problem flying either, though I do know that, apart from flying, some of my previous antiwar activities have been spied on by agents of the government. I have publicly complained about this domestic spying in the past and even reported on it in a research paper I did for my Domestic Terrorism class (Criminal Justice program). I’m not kidding. However, I’ve been assured by one of your readers that this is nothing to be concerned about…LOL

They nearly confiscated your Gold Bond?

  18. Debbie Clark says:

Also wanted to mention, re. airport security measures, I can remember a number of years, not long after the 9/11 attacks, when they first instituted the stepped-up airport security, an internet friend of mine would tell us (on a list we were both on) outrageous stories about how he would test out the security measures at the airport and getting through security while actually physically armed, as well as dressed in ridiculous attire (like wearing tights like Superman or some weird shit), and the transportation security officers never stopped him as he was actually going through armed with weapons. This was at the same time the stories first started appearing in some quarters about how they were shaking down little old ladies. I always meant to ask him what he was planning to do if he had gotten caught, which would obviously entail some pretty serious consquences, or if he was doing it as some kind of undercover work for the government. (Somehow it never seemed appropriate to ask.)
