The dichotomy of Kokesh

| March 4, 2010

So this reporter from the Santa Fe Reporter by the name of Corey Pein sent me two of his articles on Kokesh and his Congressional campaign in New Mexico. Me? I’m tired of writing and reading about Kokesh, honestly. And readership interest is falling on the subject – but every time I try to get out they pull me back in. Take this tongue bath;

Meet the new face of the Republican Party in northern New Mexico.

The face is engraved on a silver coin that is available for a $50 donation, but worth approximately $15 melted down.

The face is smiling. The face has a neatly trimmed beard. The face belongs to a man wearing a necktie. He stands beneath the Statue of Liberty. His rolled-up shirtsleeves reveal tattoos on each forearm. One says USMC. The other says IVAW, which stands for Iraq Veterans Against the War.

The arms hoist a banner that says “R3VOLution.”

Funny, but everytime I think of Kokesh’s face, I remember the day I took these pictures of him less than two years ago;

In another interview Pein asks Kokesh;

Pein: I was talking to one of the Republicans in the Tea Party here, Sheryl Bohlander. I was saying, ‘You know, I get this fiscal responsibility stuff, but where was the same amount of outrage during the Bush years?’

Kokesh: Right here [raises hand]. This is where it was.

For me, seeing the first bailouts in September, October ‘08…that was a pivotal thing for me, because I was studying the Federal Reserve, I had really just earlier that year got my head around the concept of the way the Federal Reserve actually works. I remember I was sitting at that group home we started for the IVAW in Washington, DC, I was watching on the news, and I turned to the guy next to me and went on this rant. I was like, ‘Where did that come from?’ I just felt everything crystallize for me.

Funny. Did it all crystallize for him after I took this picture of him being interviewed by Jimbo at the ANSWER-sponsored March on the Pentagon last March?

Kokesh and Uncle Jimbo

Or when he carried an upside down flag in the Ron Paul rally on the Capitol West Lawn.

Ron Paul 078

Now, before I vote for a candidate, I have to know that they’re going to vote in my interests. Can you be sure that Adam Kokesh will vote in your interest?

Funny, I agree with much of what Kokesh uses in his campaign – but I can’t get the images I took of Kokesh in Washington of of my head. Maybe Corey pein should be asking me what I know about Kokesk rather than sending me his interviews with Kokesh. I appreciate the courtesy, you’re extending, but ask me about the interviews I’ve done before Kokesh went back to New Mexico.

By the way, Adam, where’s your VoteVets endorsement?

I’ll be listening tonight 7 to 9 PM EST to Kokesh on with Troy Steward It will be interesting to hear from NM-3 Republican candidate Tom Mullins as well. (I am working on that.)

  2. OldTrooper says:

This guy talks out of both sides of his ass. That’s all I have to say about that.

  3. I enjoyed the post(s) on the Band of Brothers member as we tried to place his portrait n Purple Heart. What’s the latest on that effort.
Who is Adam Kokesh. Strange name. Sounds like someone who would do wierd shit, like storing his “stool samples” in the cupboard, or maybe storing his used beer in the fridge.
When is the next actual hero post coming out.

    Nuf Sed

  4. Old Tanker says:

Uncle J sure looks like he’s into that interview…..

  5. DanNY says:

The caption on that first picture should be:
“$^#$#, Who cut the silent one!?!?!”

  6. dutch508 says:

Let me guess. This joker is a ronbot?

  7. USMC Steve says:

He is a fraud, and a severe embarrassment to my Corps. And everyone who knows very much about him knows that. We called them shitbirds when I was an active Marine.

  8. I know this is off topic, but what camera did you use to take these shots?

  9. Carla says:

    Ditto, Steve–thank you.

  10. Cedo Alteram says:

Haha, VoteVet endorsement not likely. Remember how they used to take politcal stands? They were shitheads, but consistant shitheads, I’ll give’em that. Then they got bit in the ass after the surge, which they opposed. Oops! They don’t what to be caught on the wrong side of another issue. I thought awhile back their brilliant leader was “studying” up on AF/Pak(So he can avoid being nailed down on anything).

As for Kokesh, stopping the fed, yep article one in the cult of Paul charter. To long an issue for this avenue.

  11. YatYas says:

You’re right USMCSteve. In fact, I’ll add F’ that shitbird ex-Marine.

  12. Door Kicker says:

All Washington politics gravitate to the CFR.

Nobody has much influence or career working outside of the CFR network. All else is small potatoes, no matter how much they want to correct a corrupted political system, right a wrong or try to return to foundational healthy values. There is no right and left at the CFR tables, only the illusion of party politics for our entertainment. That keeps us divided and emotional on issues. Electing candidates that promise to withhold from CFR membership and voting out those who are CFR is the first step to removing the CRF influence.

The only candidates that get media coverage equally are CFR because oddly enough, the heads of the media are also CFR. The deck is stacked. I never heard of this guy before today. His political career is dead unless he goes CFR.
Palin is not CFR. Her proposal to the TEA’s to pick a party has me wondering now,…..Who gave her the political titty twister and why does she march to a new drummer? She is a pawn. The real politics of the CFR is frequently out of the news. Be alert! The world needs more lerts.

  13. Susan says:

Ok, I’ll bite – what, pray tell, is the CFR? Code of Federal Regulation?

  14. Door Kicker says:

Sorry Susan, all the acronyms used here got me lazy. CFR is the Council on Foreign Relations. There are counterparts that are equivalent to our CFR in other countries. It is the real seat of political power and national policy.

  15. Debra says:

Oh, isn’t that a coincidence….Kokesh, Jim Hanson, and my friend Mike Hearington, all in the same pic…

  16. Debra says:

Also, by the way, “dicotomy” is actually spelled “dichotomy” (with an “h”). Or was that supposed to be another one of those jokes I never get…?

  17. Mike Bradley says:

I am a Nam Vet— If you tell me you are a Nam vet in about 30 seconds of conversation I will figure out if you are a brother or a fake. Now take Kokesh and IVAW– first example jessie Mcbeth– fake– IVAW– This ass hole kokesh traveled and Marched in Washington and didn’t figure this SOB was a FAKE– Give me a break—in 6 months he didn’t know this guy an 4 others were fakes. If I were an Iraq vet and this guy was talking all the smack I would have had to slapped him and told him to hit the road! Now Kokesh wants to run for office. He is a total discredit to guys like ny son who has done multiple tours of Iraq and Afghan.

  18. Darin Julius says:

    Cult of Paul…Ronbots????

    • Jonn Lilyea says:

Darin, not to worry, I would never remove your comment – it makes you look so f’in’ stupid.

  19. NHSparky says:

Wow. Just wow. I never knew so much stupid could fit into one little post. Please, Darin–enlighten us all. Tell us how your Kool-Aid dispensing batshit crazy “leader” can justify even one of the hypocritical stances he takes.

  20. Marine 83 says:

God I love Paulbots, they are just so frapin funny. They are just so easy to send into rant mode, which is then good for hours of fun, watching as they humiliate themselvs time after time, with thier assinine posts. Great fun!

  21. Debra says:

I see now what you all were trying to say before…heh..

  22. Door Kicker says:

Anybody know Ron Paul’s CFR record? So much political division is no mistake. It is by design. There is no right and left, but it sure gets the bloodpressure up!

Look at the back of a dollar bill. Conflict is the name of the game. Why does nobody teach the symbolic significance and understanding of the Great seal of the USA? The object and pupose of this country is the setting of the capstone. No other currency boasts that. Order from chaos; and you are caught right up in the whole mess. Bla bla bla all over the net on this diversion and that.

What will be the next two-week wonder in the news? How about Iran pulls it’s pants down and Israel moves in for a sniff?
We need some more chaos for more order! War is peace.

  23. UpNorth says:

How did the Paulistinians get let loose so early this year? A post about the CFR which is really the NWO, which is really the Bilderbergers, which is really the Masons, just wow. And, the secret code on the back of a dollar bill?
If he wasn’t dead, I’d swear that Bedell was posting as Door Kicker. Or maybe it’s Stack, reincarnated?

  24. Door Kicker says:

I’ll tell you what UpNorth, You provide the links that show the education on the Great Seal. Start with K-12. Then college, then universities then military schools. How about West Point? Tell me why the seal of this country is shrouded in mystery. Be careful because facts can be a hard pill to swallow and conspiracy is only conspiracy when facts are questioned. Funny how the word conspiracy has a new meaning isn’t it?

I suppose after all the movies you watched and overwhelming involvement of this country in WWII, you still believe we were blind-sighted by the Japs at Pearl. We broke the codes, hell we helped make them. We gave up one of our own to be captured and tortured with his knowledge of our intents to bomb Japan from China bases on December 8. They thought their strike was pre-emptive having discovered our fake plan when exposed in extreme torture (to death). Did you ever wonder where Doolittle was headed for? Our bases in mainland China. We had them well stocked with fuel and oil. Lots of fuel and oil, enough to give the Jap’s a good head start. We fueled their machines. Why do you think Japan was so ruthless with the Chinese?

You like movies? How about the line where Jack Nicholson says “You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth!”. Brushing off something you don’t understand or don’t have the balls to honestly look at is the thing that makes this country what it is: a land of mindless proles. That is a comfortable place to be like a pinhead. Don’t forget to see Alice in Wonderland; I am sure it will be a meaningful escape for you. Do you know why the flag displayed indoors has fringe? It’s just not to make it pretty ya know….

There is no question the TEA’s are not republicans. No conspiracy there. Palin told them to pick a party. There is no question the back of a dollar bill is meaningless to most of the population. When you grow up and see the acts of war are not accidental and that they are by design, you will understand that countless lives have been wasted in lies for much industry. No ‘modern’ war is waged without the patriotic support of the people.

Chess is still the game of Kings, but also the game of modern industry. Where are you on the board and what is your perspective? Are you a dark star? I am not at all like J.P.B.

Let’s pigeon-hole everyone to question their beliefs and political alignment for credibility. Oh,… look we are already there. You have put me with a group to raise an eyebrow and caution fellow readers. You have challenged facts and supported the myths. In order for this country to achieve its destiny, it needs people with your kind of traditional thinking. You cannot even fathom that what you have, and not have been taught can be questioned. You are on the board and that is your perspective. The only one not expendable is the King.

I’ll tell you that though we disagree, there is nothing that will prevent the capstone from being seated when it will be available. There is no reform to prevent that. I am amused at how readily the populous is in cooperation headlong to that end. Lenin would love this crap and Goebbels would wet his pants for the simple joy.

Israelis are pumped about the assassination. A very high popularity exists for an act their government neither admits nor denies. It is so asinine the popularity- that people are buying T shirts supporting Mossad assassinations and activities. Identifying with the Mossad is now fashionable like pop culture. Israelis are giving the green light for more offensive acts. They will get it. They just need a little nudge to go totally berserk for justified war. Just like we did after Pearl. It will be something that will outrage both the Islamic and Judean faiths, perhaps the world for Israeli support. Then there will be a call for peace after a nasty exchange. Guess who wins?

War and peace is like peas and carrots, both are so very contrasting but they do go together well. Hatred is the emotion that drives personal ethic and political polarity in an ever increasing fashion world-wide: Shitstorm ahead buckaroo. Expect more people going off the deep end as hopelessness increases. I have no intention myself in getting caught up in the BS and freaking out. I have no fantasies of being in a firefight. I have no desire for headline recognition. Be alert, the world needs more lerts. Romans 10: 9 & 10. Make an informed decision.

  25. NHSparky says:

DK–12 step program. Find one. NOW.

  26. UpNorth says:

Exactly Sparky, exactly. I fear, though, it may be too late. And, the post goes from “A Few Good Men” to the evil Jooooooooooos. Is it 11 o’s in Joooo? I forgot.

Here is a Mullins vs Kokesh snippet from a debate. This is the guy who the establishment GOP hopes will inspire 15k Democrats to vote for a Republican.

    Good luck with that

I think the YouServed interview puts the “not a conservative” argument to bed. So now you guys are faced with a choice. A Republican whom you disagree with on 1 point (foreign policy) or an actual socialist synchophant of Pelosi/Reid.

    Seems a no-brainer to me.

I think Reagan was wise when he talked of the 80/20 rule. I, also, know that Kokesh is not running for president so his Foreign Policy views are not critical. I do believe Conservatives need to lead the debate on the obviously flawed “Wilsonian” Foreign Policy that is resulting in staggering suicide numbers in our armed forces.

And the above point – no neo-con seems to want to discuss -tells me that I care more for the health and morale of our armed services than those who refuse to even acknowledge these horrifying numbers.

Kokesh has gotten over his PTSD and grown up. He is the only Conservative who can possibly win this. While some of you may not be able to see past his outspoken actions in the past, unless you live here in NM3rd, you really have no idea of the dynamics and will be damning us to more years of the incumbents licking of the Pelosi/Reid ass. Kokesh will be responsible to the people of NM3rd and will be answerable to the hardcore constitutional conservatives of the r3VOLution. Nobody in the r3v agrees with socialism/communism/etc. Everyone I know in the movement supports the troops and is for a very strong _defense_. What we reject is Wilsonian (liberal) nation building. IOW – progressivism. In that we are on the same side. Like it or not

  28. Door Kicker says:

“Exactly Sparky, exactly. I fear, though, it may be too late. And, the post goes from “A Few Good Men” to the evil Jooooooooooos. Is it 11 o’s in Joooo? I forgot.”

Wow!Talk about spin. You should be in politics. How interesting it is that any comment or fact for that matter about Israel is given the anti- semitic twist. You gotta be dumber than a mud fence post to think like that and believe it. You certainly are a credit to the fringe that trims our flag.

How do you evaluate this spinmiesters?

  29. UpNorth says:

Oh yeah, Haaretz, the newspaper that no one in Israel reads. Except for the political “elite” and the “well-educated”. The author of that article, Avraham Burg, is/was a member of the “Peace Now” group, Peace Now worked out so well for Neville Chamberlain and Europe, didn’t it?
I’d say you were a credit to the fringe you occupy, but I think you’re out there all by your lonesome.

  30. Fred says:

Three problems with the Israel talk.

    1. Israel is not 100 percent Jewish nor do all Jews in the World support Israel.

    2. Israel is not an indispensable friend of the United States. While our interests have coincided on many occasions, the Israelis will not hesitate to put their interests ahead of ours, which they have been known to do.

    3. Iran is not the most anti-Jew country in the Middle East. That honor is reserved for our Arab allies: The Saudis. For that matter, Iran is hardly the biggest threat to the United States emanating from the Middle East. I’d say the Saudis win that one too.

Of course the whole peace now thing won’t work. Problem here is that the Saudi Wahhabis are today’s Nazis and Iran hardly equals the USSR.

  31. CPT Me says:

    @ Maresco,

I don’t subscribe to many of Adam Kokesh’s views, but his response from that one debate clip really did school his competitor.

  32. Door Kicker says:

Thanks Fred. For a minute there I thought I was one of the elite, but I don’t know what that means.Shame on the well educated anyways. UpNorth, are you figuratively or literally Up North? I was wondering what happened to that guy. I am still waiting for the links on the great seal national ed. Here is one on the fringe. Now let’s see how you can spin that around. Maybe North can give you a hand. If I am an elite, then you must certainly be expert Up North.

  33. Door Kicker says:

  34. AntiAdam says:

Friday night, March 12, at the Albuquerque Hilton will be receptions for the delegates and guests. Kokesh must get 20% to get on the primary ballot. If you can, go, mingle, and expose Kokesh.

  35. matt says:

it hurts me, as an American and a veteran, to see you all write this guy off because you’re offended by the upside down flag…assuming he’s burning it or something.
it’s okay though, it’s not your fault you don’t know.

    Title 36, U.S.C., Chapter 10
    As amended by P.L. 344, 94th Congress
    Approved July 7, 1976

    (a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

Most individuals who have served in the military service of our nation will (or should) recognize this signal. This means “the base is overrun, send help immediately” (more soldiers to rescue us). Adam Kokesh is on your side, but you don’t know it.

  36. NHSparky says:

Matt–if he’s “on my side”, I’m voting that worthless fucker off the island NOW.

  37. Sean says:

Fuck Kokesh Matt, he’s a shitbird of longtime standing

  38. Eddie says:

If only tha author knew what an upside flag meant… Or perhaps he does & is throwing dis-information out… Regardless, terrible journalism, comical sorry ass blog

  39. Jonn Lilyea says:

Eddie; yeah, disinformation, that what an actual photo of an actual event is – disinformation.

  40. Render says:

It never dawns on the Paulbots and other Israel haters that the USMC is larger, better armed, and has much longer range then the entire IDF combined.

They can’t admit that Arab-Israelis serve in the IDF as well, because that would ruin the whole anti-Israel meme.

Nor can they admit that the IAF doesn’t have enough air strike and long range missile capability to service all of the potential Iranian targets, even if those IAF strike aircraft had the range to reach those targets.

But the Paulbots have never been noted for much in the way of common sense or open-source knowledge.

After all, everything that was wrong with Herr Paul in 2008 is still wrong with him in 2012. Including all of the neo-nazi’s involved in his various state campaign groups.

  41. Hondo says:

Some Ronulans aren’t exactly that observant, either. For example, “Eddie” (#44) didn’t notice the fact that this thread had been dead for 17+ months before he made his half-baked comments above.
