Dempsey: US considering force in Syria

| July 18, 2013

Well, really that shouldn’t surprise anyone – it’s the wrong thing to do, applying US military force in Syria at this juncture, so of course this administration is considering it. Screw finishing the war in Afghanistan, let’s get mired down somewhere else in the Middle East. From the Associated Press;

Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff, said during congressional testimony that he has provided President Barack Obama with options for the use of force in Syria.

Speaking about what he termed “kinetic strikes,” Dempsey added that the “issue is under deliberation inside of our agencies of government.” But he declined to provide further details, as members of the Senate Armed Services Committee pressed him for greater clarity on the strategy for ending the war and removing Syrian President Bashar Assad from power.

No matter what we do, we’re going to get blamed for whatever turns out poorly – look at Egypt, FFS.

“The decision on whether to use force is the decision of our elected officials,” Dempsey said. “It would be inappropriate for me to try to influence the decision with me rendering an opinion in public with what type of force we should use.”

Yeah, who needs a military adviser to actual provide advice to the civilians, that would be out of his area of expertise. the civilians are just better off making completely political decisions while US troops spend their blood and their lives for the next presidential election. Way to bow-up there, Marty, you spineless POS.

Give them bombs and guns and let THEM sort it out.

That’s the ticket, Marty – you fuggin’ spineless prick. After all, war protesters have been out of business for some time. They need something to do.

Whatever we do will go wrong because it will be perceived as wrong by one side or the other. I remember after the initial US Baghdad bombings there were signs on a building, for the media of course, that read “BABY MILK FACTORY” in English. Even though it was an intel or operations center. I say no boots or blood for that shithole. Let them fight it out on their own. One side or the other, or both, will get all the arms they need from Muslim sympathizers all across the middle east. We don’t need to give them a thing.

So.. why did he get a Nobel Peace prize again?

This is what happens when the lowest common denominator process becomes the conventional means of producing elected officials and military commanders. Those who offend the least, meaning all the 4ss slurping brown-noses, are the only ones left to advance. The JCS job, and thus by extension the Chairman, is to advise the President and Secretary of Defense.

Telling the president that entering a new or future conflict where both sides are against you at the outset while a current conflict remains unresolved and budget cuts are trimming the size of the available forces is NOT inappropriate you lazy buffoon, it’s your f#cking job and your duty.

Instead of making sure your buddies get a golden parachute for f$cking their subordinates on taxpayer dollars maybe you could start worrying about putting kids in black plastic bags for no reason other than you don’t carry the necessary male genitalia to speak up and do the job the nation is paying you to do.

Martin Dempsey is more spineless and butt-licking than the shithead he replaced. I though ADM Mullins was bad, but Marty takes the cake…

  7. TMB says:

If you haven’t seen it yet, take a look at the transcript for Dempsey and McCain’s back and forth from yesterday. McCain is getting antsy for another war and while Dempsey is giving halfway political answers, McCain is trying to bait him into starting a war. McCain and Graham have been wanting to bomb Syria for months now with no idea on what comes after.

  8. USMCE8Ret says:

@3 – I remember seeing something like that, too. As I recall, the words “BABY MILK FACTORY” looked like it had been hastily placed, and done so deliberately right in the camera lens view of the photographer.

Baby milk factory in Baghdad? Yeah, right.

    Jeezus fawking christmas.

As if we could afford yet ANOTHER P.C. “war.”

Enough is bloody enough, we need to take care of our own people and country, let those other fools kill themselves. Natural selection and all.
