John R Acton; embellished military service for public office

| October 29, 2014

John Acton

One of our Facebook friends sent us a link to in regards to this John R. Acton fellow who is running for constable in Arizona. They investigated him in regards to his stated history in law enforcement and found his record wanting, so naturally, they doubted his military service as well;

Over the last 8 years, in addition to the fabricated law enforcement career, Acton spoke often about being a Vietnam Vet or a US Army Veteran in the Vietnam Era. He claimed to have participated in “advance infantry warfare”, had “secret clearance MI. level 4” and was a decorated officer. Sometimes he said that he was honorably discharged due to an injury, other times he said he was retired military.

After weeks of working with the Congressional office of the United States Department of Defense, we received information from the National Personnel Record’s Center re: Acton’s military experience.

What did we learn?

We learned that John R Acton

was in the enlisted reserve on inactive duty for 9 weeks from May 20, 1965 to July 29, 1965
went to basic training July 30, 1965 – Oct 2, 1965
was discharged 4 1/2 months after completing basic training, with the rank of Private, on Feb 18, 1966
did not serve any foreign service (Vietnam)
did not retire from the military

No advance infantry warfare, no secret clearance MI level 4 and no retirement. It appears that Acton wasn’t completely honest about his military experience either.

They say that Acton refused to show anyone his DD214 which would make anyone suspicious – it makes me suspicious. So I went to his website where he writes this about his military career;

John R Acton website

I suppose that’s true that he was a four-month Vietnam Era veteran, but only marginally. Further, as proof, he posts this from the American Legion;

John Acton AL cert

So I asked the American Legion’s National Adjutant, Daniel Wheeler, whose signature appears on that particular certificate. He responded; “It is nothing but a direct marketing gimmick and has no official value whatsoever.”

Wonder what the story is behind this goober’s early discharge from USAR just as Vietnam became hot and hotter…

  2. MustangCryppies says:

Ah, yes! The ole ““secret clearance MI. level 4!” That’s the “Gouge Eyes Out Before Reading” classification level.

    • Mayhem says:

Secret Clearance MI. Level 4! Wow! Thats super ultra secret squirrel shit goin on there! Whats the MI mean? Mutated Idiot?

      • Hondo says:

Pretty sure you have the “I” correct, Mayhem. But I think the “M” there stands for “Manifest” vice “Mutated”.

        I could be wrong.

      • Mark Lauer says:

It means he was working for the US Army AND the British Intelligence Service at the same time. HE WAS A DOUBLE AGENT!
So, not only is he an embellisher, he’s also a damn traitor!
        I say we hang him.
But after a spot of tea.

    • Sparks says:

MustangCryppies…That’s right, you read it here first. A Mission Impossible Level 4 Clearance. That’s higher than Jim Phelps and Ethan Hunt have! I think they were only like a MI Level 2 or something.

    • Hayabusa says:

Secret clearance MI level 4! My word! That means that his personnel records are so highly classified they have to be kept in a vault in a nuclear bunker, 60 feet under CIA headquarters in Langley, surrounded by electric fences, minefields, Gurkha mercenaries armed with kukris, and a moat filled with sharks with freakin’ laser beams on their heads.

You have to have at least a TS/SCI clearance just to be able to submit a request to read his records. And, if your request is granted, after you are finished reading, they have to cut your head off. And then burn it. Just to be safe.

We’re talking some real secret spy shit here.

    • T1B says:

Maybe he was one of the other GL20s…the decoys.

  3. 2/17 Air Cav says:

Constable? In AZ, that’s an elective office, carrying a four-year term. The AZ constable’s website tries hard to dress it all up but a constable is really not much more than a process server. And even that seems silly, inasmuch as the duties are shared with the local sheriff’s department. But it’s AZ’s money. They can waste it however they want.

    • Green Thumb says:

Maybe he could be employed by Bernath and Palmer (of the Ballsack).

They seem to have a lot of garbage to serve.

  4. ChipNASA says:

Looks like he’s going to be getting a little more “action” than he bargained for.
I hope it does his career some good.

    • Green Thumb says:

Toss in a little “Native American” flavor to his claims and we have a potential replacement for Commander Phil Monkress at All-Points Logistics when he is eventually run out of town.

  5. Nicki says:

    I found this amusing:

“Being the law enforcement part of the Justice of the Peace courts, integrity must be observed at all times.”

Aside from the hideously bad writing, does his version of “integrity” involve being a lying sack of detritus?

Secret MI level 4 clearance??? Wow… someone has been watching a bit too much TV. I guess my TS/SCI is a bit too low to know what the fuck that is.

Someone please kick this douche canoe in the throat!

    • 2/17 Air Cav says:

Douche canoe? That is right up there with shit pickle! I can’t believe how educational this place can be sometimes, not to mention hilarious.

    • Bobo says:

Nicki, if you had a recent lifestyle poly and need to know, you might have access to the MI compartment. Level 4 includes the Roswell alien informaition. Level 5 is only for certain members of the Illuminati.

I’m sure that, if you asked him, he’d tell you that he’s still read in on Secret MI level 4.

      • Nicki says:

Dammit, Bobo – my lifestyle poly expired last year. Darn. I was hoping I could use my Level 6 badge to find out about who really killed Kennedy!

  6. Mr Wolf says:

He can’t possibly be higher than MI 4. Were he to be MI6, he’d be British…

  7. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

In his case “MI” obviously stands for “Mega-Imbecile”!

  8. NHSparky says:

Be pretty interesting to see his 214, specifically the discharge code.

6 1/2 months, including boot. This could be interesting.

Oh, and to the trolls–GFY. I don’t give a shit what political party the asshole claims. Fake is fake and needs to be exposed.

  9. FatCircles0311 says:

What a sack of shit. Fake law enforcement and fake war vet. Somebody run this turd out of town.

    • John Ellison says:

And knowing all this, the electorate still voted him into office with 52% of the votes. What a disgrace – both him and the people who voted for him!

  10. Mustang1LT says:

I think it’s time for his county political organization to throw him under the bus. I hate it when these fucksticks end up claiming to be Republicans. The local level party committees need to vet these clowns better.

  11. streetsweeper says:

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Bebeu met with him…Hehehe.

Arizona Constables Association asks him to withdraw from the race. Nicki, throat kick this douche canoe…lol.

  12. 3E9 says:

Another festering boil on the ass of humanity. Dipshit

  13. Andy11M says:

surprised he didn’t claim to have a GS-13 level secret clearance.

  14. Dewayne says:

John Acton won the election, and will now be the constable in Pinal County, AZ. I guess third times a charm for him. He even broke the law by never putting the “Paid for by” info on his signs. This D-bag will be carrying a gun & has already gone on record saying that he will do so because a gun is a great form of intimidation. Sad, the Republicans that I interviewed still vote by letter (R) & the Dems do the same, instead of voting for the other person running who’s an Independent. Also sad that many people take for granted the service many of YOU have done FOR US, & simply chose not to vote regardless of the party. We have over 400k people in Pinal County & only had 45k cast their vote.
