Joe Kerney; phony SF Sergeant Major

| February 17, 2015

Joe Kerney

This fellow, Joe Kerney, really ticks me off. Scotty sends him to us, but Bulldog worked on it, too. Kerney claims that he spent from 1977-2004 in the Army. He claims that he was Special Forces and Delta, that he’s been every where shots have been fired since Beirut.

Joe Kerney claims

Here are his claims in his own handwriting in a failed attempt to correct his records and to get some disability payment that he figured that he could screw the VA out of;

Kerney Claims 2

Kerney claims 3

Yeah, well, here’s the truth – he spent three years in the Army from 1977 to 1980 during the Carter years, you know that war-monger Carter who had us in firefights every week in a different country.

He got out of the Army with a Marksmanship Badge. Period. No Silver Star, no airborne, let alone fricken Delta Force, no nuthin’. He was a cannon-cocker who did his time in Germany and got out. Then he figured that he needed some bennies for his three years. Dirt bag.

I don’t usually do this but here you go – a burglary arrest in 1995 for extra dirtbag.

3 mutual friends with this dirtbag on facebook. just posted this link to make them aware.

    • Pablo de la torre says:

You hit the naii right on the head. During the60’s if you put on a uniform and did your time that is all you needed for me to buy you a beer

      • Pablo de la torre says:

Yeah had him as friend even joined his group. What piss me the most is he giving me counseling because he knows how I feel because he has been there and wife is stage 4 liver cancer but she stil went to of way to help. Even after his wife had that “accident ” which left her with black eyes., we called and offered to help many times.

  3. Sapper3307 says:

Boy don’t forget that head start class in Germany. I guess they did not want those 2/75 Rangers walking into the wrong toilet room and starting up WW3.

  4. Thunderstixx says:

Perfectly honorable service fucked up by a big fat stupid mouth…
I did the same thing in my three years, just about nothing.
But, if we ever need to instruct GI’s how to ski, I’m the guy !!!
    Honest to God !!!
They didn’t give medals for that though, but should have as we attempted to teach Marines how to ski !!!

  5. 2banana says:

The VA required a valid and verified DD214 when you apply for benefits. A hand written note will not cut it.

  6. JimW says:

I hope he’s got a big tattoo to remind him of his lies.

  7. CLAW131 says:

23 days bad time/AWOL time posted to the DD214.

Why would anybody go AWOL in March in Germany?

Was there a Graf/Hohenfels rotation in his future?

Yep, he was the Battery shitbag, that’s why the RE-3B and no Good Conduct Medal.

  8. Green Thumb says:

SGM on deck? Atten Huh? “Burry”?

    Extra dirtbag is right.

This man is a stain on the collective ass of society and should be removed.

This turd has Fecal Four potential.

I feel sorrow for the person wh0se arm is around him.

    • GDContractor says:

Dude deployed to “Samolia” w/ Delta Force.

    • Sparks says:

Green Thumb…Did I ever say I HATE sons of bitches who falsely claim Ranger? Number three on my list behind Purple Heart and POW claims. Rangers put in too much F’in’ hard ass work to earn the right to wear that Tab and then maintain it through continual hard training and good conduct. This ass hole goes beyond the pale of ass hat stupid. Particularly egregious to me is his hand written chronology of phoney service and the balls to send it in thinking Records would say, “oh yea, sure we’ll just add all this to your jacket and you’re good to go, need any other decorations while we’re at it?”

  10. LIRight says:

Would love to be a fly on the wall when my two SF sons spend about 90 seconds with this fleabag asshole in a locked room.

Then I would finish him off by peeing on his unconscious and bloody carcass.

Its getting so that my stomach hurts when reading about these scumbags.

    • Sparks says:

      LIRight…Sell tickets. I’d buy three!

    • Ex-PH2 says:

90 seconds? Man, you are generous! I’d give him 15.5 seconds before he starts bleeding from every pore, shaking, sweating bullets, and begging to be let go.

      • LIRight says:

Actually…..I figure it’ll take 85 seconds to roll up their sleeves and 5 seconds to take care of business.

Sparks – for you, tickets are free and EX-PH2 thanks for steering me straight on the time required! 🙂

  11. MSGRetired says:

In his case SF = Stupid Fucker !

  12. Veritas Omnia Vincit says:

Who said there was no evidence of mental disability when cousins marry?

  13. Atkron says:

I wasn’t in the Navy at the time, but a check of the Cruisebook for the JFK’s 1980 deployment makes no mention of any involvement of the hostage rescue attempt….let alone any soldiers getting lost onboard while looking for a ‘latrine or chow hall’.

  14. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

In his own words, “I received a Silver Star for carring a brother…” “…two in Afghanastan…” Do these shit-for-brained assclowns ever even think of using spellcheck? NAAA, I’m sure they enjoy looking like the idiots they are!

    • Ex-PH2 says:

Oh, here, Proud, lemme ‘splain that to you.

‘carring a brother’ means he put the brother on a car, instead of actually physically dragging him, or humping him in a fireman’s carry. Use of a vehicle as ‘carring’ transport is legit.

      • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

OH, OKAY! I was beginning to wonder if he meant he was “carring” for him until his yoonit’s Meddiks got there!! 😀

  15. 3E9 says:

Dear Lord what a dipshit. OSUT – One site instruction training? Damn man put a little more effort into it.

    • Sparks says:

3E9…You caught the OSIT too eh?

      • 3E9 says:

Yeah, I went through OSUT back in 87-88. If you’re going to make up words to go with an acronym at least make sure the words fit the acronym. My god, a 3rd grader would put more effort into it than this choad.

      • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Are you sure “OSIT” wasn’t his way of saying “O-SHIT!” when he realized he’d been called on his bullshit?

    • Veritas Omnia Vincit says:

He wrote OSIT and stated it was “One Unit Instruction Training” which would be OUIT but this genius couldn’t even sort that out…there’s stupid to be sure but then there’s just fucking stupid…

This boy elevates the stupid to a level heretofore unknown to mankind, he works in stupid as some men work in wood or metal he makes his art with layer upon layer of stupid as a collage of idiocy that overwhelms the senses.

  16. Ex-PH2 says:

Gee whillikers. I look at my pieces of paper. They have no glory attached. I have pictures of me sitting at a desk. I pale by comparison with this glorified whizkid.

I have nothing. I am no one. I will borrow the paper bag he should be wearing on his head and walk away, watching my feet move.

Samolia? Is that anywhere near Smellialand or is it nearer to Paprikastan? I have a team going to Kyrzakistan, that hitherto undiscovered country created out of the cognitive disconnect of sKerry’s left brain cells. I need a map to keep up with these chodes.

    • 11B-Mailclerk says:

Semolia? He fought Cream of Wheat?

    • Marine_7002 says:

Of course the country of “Samolia” exists.

Every sovereign country has its own currency. “Samolia” uses “Samolians.”

      Perfectly legit!

    • Ex-PH2 says:

Without you guys (all of you), my life would be normal. I would not exhaust myself laughing so hard that food falls out of my mouth.

    • Veritas Omnia Vincit says:

Samolia is the shit country right next door to Shinola…I think you can imagine where I might be taking this analogy…

    • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Samolia, ain’t that the Capitol City of Paprika at the base of the Parsely Mountains near where the Sage and Rosemary rivers meet forming the Thyme? Yeah, that’s where they have the Scarborough fair, ain’t it?

  17. jedipsycho (Certified Space Shuttle Door Gunner) says:

Numbnuts needs to get a hold of a dictionary. Maybe Bernath can crash land them into a Barnes & Noble.

    • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Too big of a chance for innocent people to be injured, maybe he could find one near a nice swampy area that he could crash at for a while?

    • Fjardeson says:

Don’t want to damage a perfectly good book shop. Crash IN FRONT OF a Half Price Books.

  18. Beretverde says:

Group and Battalion were hiring when he was in…fuck him. Damn phony bitch.

“Just for the Record, we fought the Cubans in Greneda” – Joe Kerney December 20, 2013

Joe Kerney on the same post.

This isn’t the first time a phony posted on This Aint Hell as if he/she were one of us. 🙄 Dennis (Denny) Howard Chevalier liked this site until he got exposed a year ago here, February 17, 2014.

Someone else did the same thing.

I mean, if person is faking it, wouldn’t posting here be one of the dumbest things that person could do? 🙄

    • thebesig says:

That was on the TAH facebook post. 🙄

      • 2/17 Air Cav says:

Actually, there was a commenter here who suddenly disappeared a couple of years ago. he was over-the-top, as I recall, in chastising phonies. Turns out he was one–or so it was suggested. He flew the coop w/o fanfare.

    • C2Show says:

Don’t forget Frederick Georges phony and Anthony dude who inflitratred TAH.

  20. CLAW131 says:

Got it figured out why he is so goofy.

He was at the same place (Ray Barracks, Friedburg, 3rd Armored Division) as Elvis Presley.

Yep, too much of “The King of Rock & Roll” for his brain to comprehend.

That’s what happens to 17 year olds their first trip away from home. Too much Jagermeister and too many Frauleins.

  21. Green Thumb says:

Dude also looks a lot like that shitbag Jerry Vroombout.

    • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Jerry Vroombout, wasn’t he the booger-eating bedwetter of a fake SEAL that said he made and sold fly fishing rods?

  22. Big Steve says:

God… what a total load this joker is.
One of the funniest entries in his semi-literate, chicken scratch notes about all his combat theaters and accomplishments, is the one from 1980 during the Iran hostage crisis.
Claiming he was a Ranger, aboard an aircraft carrier, and returned to Ft. Bragg (where there is no Ranger Bat.).

A pathetic guy making absurd claims. But without hosers like him, we wouldn’t have TAH, and all this entertainment. 🙂

  23. TankBoy says:

You know he is a filthy liar. If he was really a Delta Force Sergeant Major, he would be wearing a leather biker vest with all of his finery attached. He is a fake.

    • Hack Stone says:

TankBoy, are you FaceBook friends with Doc Gilligan? He is still kicking around, in the Covington KY area. If you can’t find him, hit me up.

  24. Combat Historian says:

Last I heard, real sergeant majors know how to properly spell “salute”…

  25. nbcguy54ACTUAL says:

His DD214 shows 2 weeks of lost (AWOL?) time also. He’s a winner…

  26. Dee Basso Yoshimura says:

hey guys, I have a huge problem with what I am reading here….I am friends with Loretta Kerney, Joe’s wife, and we are involved in a few PTSD support groups together. I talk to her on the phone and online quite frequently. I hope to God that she was lied to by Joe and is not knowingly asking for help based on his fraudulant claims, because I have been duped and have helped them. Geez, I would never question a friend in need, and she is always so desperate. Please keep me updated as more info arises, because you guys are currently being mother fucked by them on facebook in the group forums. Thanks.

My husband is a combat vet Desert Shield/Desert Storm and his DD-214 is 2 full pages with what he did, where he was, and what commendations, medals, etc were awarded to him. He looked at all of your info here and called BS on all of it like you guys did and told me to sever all ties with the Kerneys. btw, he loved your comments and literally lol’d all of them. He is upset that I allowed myself to be duped by their lies, and I am disappointed in myself for believing their stories since I am usually a good judge of character. If you need any intel on what they are saying, I will screen shot fb posts and messages from them and report them to you. Thank you for uncovering the truth. At least I didn’t lose too much money to them, thank goodness.

Keep up the good work. I will follow up in the next few days when I hear more lies from them.

    • CLAW131 says:

The first question you should have asked yourself is:

Why would a supposedly medically or longevity retired Sergeant Major E-9 with 27 to 30 years of service be looking for a handout?

That type of stuff just doesn’t happen.

      • MrBill says:

Great point. A medically retired E-9 with over 20 years of service would not only have a good pension and Tricare, he’d have VA disability in addition due to concurrent receipt. He’d be well provided for, no need to ask for handouts.

        • Hondo says:

In practice, probably true. But not necessarily.

Concurrent receipt requires a VA disability rating of 50% or higher. As I recall, medical retirement can be for a condition that is as little as 30% disabling. Further, there’s no connection between the military’s disability rating (for retirement purposes) and that of the VA (for compensation purposes). The two systems can – and sometimes do – yield substantially different ratings.

It’s probably not all that common, but it is at least theoretically possible for someone to be medically retired w/20 years of service and not entitled to concurrent receipt. And that doesn’t even begin to get into the cases where the ex-spouse was awarded well over 50% of the individual’s retired pay (or a fixed monthly amount) as alimony.

          • Geetwillickers says:

Bennies notwithstanding, any guy who had a career as distinguished as this guy claims is gonna be one squared away, motivated, and, more to the point, VERY employable dude.

Not likely to need a handout at all. At least in my experience.

          • MrBill says:

Right, I should have qualified my statement by saying “most likely” he’d be entitled to concurrent receipt. Nearly always, though, the VA rating is going to be higher than the military rating. It’s probably even a little more predictable under the current integrated disability system, in which the military decides what conditions are unfitting and the VA does the rating. Now, the military rating is just about always the “floor”, with the VA stacking additional service-connected (although not unfitting) conditions on top of it.

    • Pablo says:

Dee, I am sorry you were taken for any amount of money, it is still hard for me to get my mind around this. My wife has stage 4 cancer which is maybe why we didn’t think for a second that he wasn’t what he said he was. Lung cancer and maybe stomach cancer who would not try to help someone suffering like that. You did the right thing, helping a friend in need. I still keep saying to myself it can’t be the same person. Stand strong .

  27. Craig Payne says:

Old Army here 1967 to 1969 LZ Oasis
you never heard about this kind of thing when I got out .What a faget. You did your time and keep your mouth shut. And when you meet other Vet it was special.IT DID NOT MATTER IF YOU WERE a RANGER OR LRRP OR SF YOU WERE a Vet
and that ment someting and it still does.
All of the guys that pull this shit should be ashamed of them selfs

    • Dave says:

This stuff usually doesn’t bother me…..I wandered in buzzed an stupid in 88′ and yes did jump school and other huaah stuff cause I was following the herd…. Led my sorry ass from panama to the gulf and more in four years – wandered out with multiple combat patches (in an a time when they weren’t expected) thinking what da fuk happened here-and knowing how to drink that lil voice away 😉 . DD214 went to two pages unlike this shit……Never said I tried to do any of it…I was just wrong place, oddly right guy(which surprised me – I was good at FUBAR moments) wrong time, stuck insuring I didn’t let my brothers down. This one really irritates me to read……

  28. Val Graffa says:

Who the fuck, in the Army says “the SGM is on deck”? Is he a fuckin Marine?

  29. MSG Dave says:

Nobody even comments on him being AWOL. It’s on the lost days on the bottom of the 214…lol

  30. Jordan Rott says:

    That is one impressive record.

  31. Airdale USN says:

You just can’t find that level of stupid in nature. It kills itself off!!!
