Hilles Miles; phony POW

| September 28, 2015

Hilles Miles

Hilles Louis Miles used to be posted on the old POW Network as a phony POW, I guess that since the old archives disappeared many of the phonies who had been posted there thought that they could get back to their old games.

Here’s his old entry from POW Network that he thought disappeared;

Hilles Miles POW Net entry

I wonder if he can name even one of those Marines.

You can see in the picture above, Ol’ Hilles, here, claims that he was a SeaBee in Vietnam and earned the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. And there’s a POW Medal in here, too. Of course, he doesn’t appear in the registry at the Defense Department’s POW/MIA Accountability Agency, and his DD214 doesn’t show the medal, either;

Hillis Miles DD214

There’s no Bronze Star or Purple Heart on the DD214. He did serve in Vietnam as a “Construction Mechanic”, he did earn a Combat Action Ribbon, but I guess that wasn’t good enough.

Of course, since the POW Medal didn’t come into existence until November 8, 1985, if it was on his DD214, that would cause a concern. But he did a DD215 (an official correction to the original DD214) in 2008 and the medal isn’t on there either;

Miles Hilles DD215

But he claims that no one with documentation can dispute his story if we weren’t “there”;

Email from Hilles

Of course, he doesn’t offer any proof that we don’t have the whole story. It looks like he’s wearing Petty Officer rank, but the DD214 doesn’t support that, either. To top it all off, he questioned the research of our friend Captain Mike McGrath, the historian of the Vietnam POWs, who was “there” as a POW for almost five years, in some Wickrean language that I still don’t under stand;

………you impasoul that you are.You are the aka idiot not me.

Sincerly Yours!
Hilles L Miles.

By the way, you’ll notice that the picture was taken at Golden Corral on Veterans’ Appreciation Day – nothing brings out the liars like promising them a free meal.

    He looks a little……slow.
    And I’m being nice.

    • ChipNASA says:

Oh and speaking of free meals, it doesn’t look like he’s missed many.

    • A Proud InfidelĀ®ā„¢ says:

He looks like a retarded walrus minus its tusks!

A mentally challenged TYRANNOSAURUS REX..from my granddaughter after showing his picture.

        • Reb says:

Gamma, I could take that fat man to the ground, without a drop of sweat. With or without your BO? Without, if I use my BO, he’d be DBF. DEAD BEFORE FALLING ? Yes, she likes the codes you use ?

  2. SFC D says:

Dude could destroy the profit margin at a buffet.

  3. A Proud InfidelĀ®ā„¢ says:

Slovenly-looking bucket of lard, ain’t he? Yeah, nothing like a sorry-looking halfassed excuse of a uniform shirt for getting a bellyful of free chow!

    Fuck. Him.

  4. RM3(SS) says:

1 year and 7 months? what kind of enlistment is that?

    • Ex-PH2 says:

Well, that, and he did go to “A” school as a designated striker out of boot camp, which qualified him for 3rd class (CM3) after a specific length of time as CMCN. Unfortunately for him, he was sent bye-bye BEFORE he made PO3.

How do I know this? Well, because I went to “A” school, too, for PH, left NAS Pensacola as a PHAN in October 1967, and made PH3 on 16 April 1968.

See, there’s that whole time-in-rate thingy that gets in the way of these losers. And he did not meet that requirement.

    • CLAW131 says:

Went in on a two year enlistment? Cause I don’t think there was such a thing as a Navy two year draftee during the Vietnam time frame.

Then got an early five month drop as an overseas returnee during the big Vietnam exodus.

      • Peter the Bubblehead says:

There are a few guys in my Sub Vets Base who served during the Viet Nam era that did their two and got out, so it’s not unheard of.

  5. OIF '06-'07-'08 says:

    What a bottom feeder. Literally!!!!!!!

What a dumb ass and he has my fucking Seabee patch on. Was wondering how long it would be before I saw a Seabee on claiming to be a Seabee but claiming to have done more than he did for real. WTF… POS….

The time frame that we are talking about above would mean he was probably just with in a Battalion. Before 1968 they had special Seabee Teams that worked with SF ODA and a CIA mission harts and minds of the people up north and helping build the infrastructure for the serge of regular forces in 1968.

Before you go off on the Construction Mechanic (CM) thing be aware that they had a 13 man Seabee team that had 1 MOH (was a CM3)-2Silver Stares-7 purple harts. That was one team but they had several Seabee Teams and the first RVN/Riverine teams in country and received several V awards Silver Stars were in the 20’s and ton’s of bronze stars these guy’s did see their share. This ass is a POS. I am not backing him but am backing the work of my brothers that came before me.

On the behalf of Seabees sorry this ass hat is on here. NECCSEABEECPO….OUT……

    • HMC RET says:

I looked up your CM3, Marvin Glenn Shields. Maybe others could look him up on Google. Very handsome young sailor, killed in his prime protecting and aiding his shipmates. Most respect, CM3 Shields. It is unfortunate you had to die so young in life. I’m humbled …

      • NECCSEABEECPO says:

Yes, He is highly respected and cherished in our community and he also has his own award that is given in his name it is for bravery awarded only to Seabee’s usually or lately in combat.

    • TheChief says:

WTF is up with his collar devices? I’ve never known anything to be on a sailors collar other than the rank insignia. Ribbon rack is AFU and so is the flag patch he’s wearing. Another “I’m too cool for my sunglasses” guy, they are a pocket adornment for him. Did he buy that shirt at KMart or JC Penny?

His uniform is quite the soup sandwich for someone who served, he must live in a very secluded spot where no one has ever heard of the Navy let alone served. This is one of the worst embellishers I’ve ever seen.

  7. HMCS (FMF) ret says:

Let me guess… the VC/NVA dude who guarded him was Long Duc Dong, he was captured in Ho Lee Phuck Province and he was forced to endure Rambo-type torture and consume massive amounts of Cream of Sum Yung Guy soup.

Assclown… shat all over whatever honorable service he did as a SeeBee and a Sailor…

  8. B Woodman says:

These asshats just never learn. . . .
    Digital Is Forever.
    Enjoy your internet fame, douche.

  9. Dennis - not chevy says:

Is that an Army Service Ribbon in his mix? Nothing says legit more than an Army Service Ribbon on a Navy Uniform. Now, I could be wrong, but, didn’t one have to be on active duty in the Army in 1982 to have been awarded this ribbon?

He is just a dip shit.

    • CLAW131 says:

The picture is not real clear and my eyes aren’t what they used to be, but I think I also see an Army Overseas Service Ribbon and an Army Sharpshooter’s Marksmanship Badge added into the mix.

I hear the chicks really dig that OSR.

  10. Hondo says:

For completeness: 37 US personnel were taken prisoner in SEA, escaped, and returned to US control. The list can be found here:

There is only one individual with a last name beginning with “M” on that list: “MARTIN, Donald Eugene”. There is no one with the last name “MILLS” on that list.

Even people held for less than 24 hrs by the enemy are on that list.

This guy is a LSoS, and he’s sporting an unearned Purple Heart also. Screw him.

  11. Ex-PH2 says:

Impasoul? Is that related to an oompa-loompa?

Geez, can these zitditzes ever come up with something original?

    • CLAW131 says:

I’m betting he was trying to say “imbecile”, but that deal on speaking the word as you’re trying to type the word got in the way.

Were is this ass hat at? I want to post this on the Seabee sites if I can but don’t know and if some knows pleas reply.

I will make him famous. They have Seabee reunions all the time and they will eat him up. NO pun intended. Sure he goes to them just from the photo above he likes that kind of shit.

    • Dennis - not chevy says:

Perhaps, if you tell him you have two 7 pound blocks of cheese he’ll find you. You’ll need two blocks because the first one will be claimed by a C-130 wannabe.

Seriously, having been in the Air Force, I don’t know, but these might help.

      • NECCSEABEECPO says:

I know all the sites just wanted to know if I could post what info from here is on those sites. Just do not know if I can copy TAH stuff and up load on other sites. Thank you for the info.

      • NECCSEABEECPO says:

I’m going to check the Facebook stuff and put on that way. This POS need’s all the attention he can get.

    • Jarhead says:

NCB……Have asked Jonn if he can find the location of the Golden Corral this idiot was photographed grabbing the free grub. Originally, I thought his location was Butler, Indiana. Then I noticed under his free grub pix it said Hermitage. There are G C chain restaurants in both Hermitage, Pa. and Hermitage, Tn. on the east side of Nashville. Going to see to it he gets some free publicity no matter where he lives. Will get back with you once his location is known.

  13. ChipNASA says:

Well well someone got engaged…2006. Wonder if it stuck…

“A Vietnam veteran, he served in the Navy and Pennsylvania National Guard. His military career spanned 28 years.”
    (Uh NO)

Looks like Pops was a WWII Army Veteran

Says there “He was survived by”
Hilles L. Miles of New Castle, PA

Also this looks like it may be him on this Facebook thingie..(smile)
    Butler Indiana?

    Facebook in 2012
“hi heidi!i was a vietnam veteran and i got a lot of things from agent orange over there.with the right person who cares and understand 4 u to help get u through everything together and help u.well hang in there ok. i hope that i hear from u ok.”

(Agent Orange Huh?? I don’t think he ever *ate* an orange.)

Thanks’, I WANT TO POST THIS SHIT ON THE Seabee Facebook pages. Supposedly a lot of them were exposed while repairing the roads and clearing the jungles out. They did some good shit and this guy takes it from them what an ass..

    • Ex-PH2 says:

Chief, I can hear your blood boiling all the way over here. Take a chill pill before you pop something important, okay?

Just think of the funk you can have taking him apart at the seams if you ever run into him in person.

      • NECCSEABEECPO says:

PH2, This guy just shit on my community and we have always looked up to the WWII Seabees and Nam Seabees because they did some good shit and here this guy is shitting all over his good service and his brothers alive and past and one of them was awarded the MOH Marvin Shield’s the only Seabee to ever earn it and claiming POW what a shit bag. I will post him on all the Seabee sites I can and reunion sites. He got CAR for ground combat in the Navy that should be good enough they didn’t just hand those out. He is also wearing 2nd Class crow’s.

I know how the door thumpers and other guy’s feel when one of your own do this shit and I’m pissed.

        • NECCSEABEECPO says:

If THAT dam Seabee Patch wasn’t standing out like look at me I would not be that pissed but it’s like look here I am a stupide ass. It is hard enough to get people to understand what we do then this ass does this shit.

      • NECCSEABEECPO says:

PH2, I wouldn’t be so pissed if he didn’t have that dam Seabee patch on like look at me I am a dumb ass. He just shit all over his brothers and all Vets. Why can’t they be happy with what they did he was in something because they just didn’t give out the CAR for the hell of it. The younger generation always looked up to WWII guy’s and Nam guy’s. So for him to do this and shit on it all get’s my goat. One of his Seabee brothers was awarded the MOH (Marvin Shield’s) and was the only Seabee to ever do so. So yah my blood is boiling. Take the dam patch off!!!!!!

      • Ex-PH2 says:

Okay, but there are some people who are not worth your having a stroke over their bad behavior. And I do know who some of them are quite well. That’s all.

Now, you know you’re going to run into this tarball at some point. You can be prepared for that day and flame him then.

He didn’t even stay in long enough to make 3rd class. He’s lower than whale feces in the Mariana Trench, and that’s where he belongs.

I will be more than happy to write up a little something for you to slap on him in the future, if you like. Just let me know.

        • NECCSEABEECPO says:

PH2, It looks like the Marines on here our pissed as much as I am. I love Marines we take care of them and they take care of us. Do shooting for us so we don’t have to and keep working. Saved my bacon couple of times.

    • CLAW131 says:

Chip, I don’t think the 2006 engagement stuck if he was cruising for chicks on Facebook in 2012 using the Agent Orange sympathy card.

    • Reb says:

CHIP..NEVER ATE A ORANGE ? Maybe he ate BERNATH, CUZ HE’S MIA. I looked in California, Oregon and Florida. I know he’s not with DALLASS clown because it took four Military Personnel to extract him outta BERNATHS ASS.

While I don’t expect everyone to possess the capability to comfortably express their concerns using perfect grammar and spelling, although it would be nice, it appears to me that this fellow is something of an idiot.

His writing skills are so poor he wouldn’t get out of a public middle school these days, and when insulting someone by calling them an imbecile it’s probably more effective when you do not spell it “impasoul”….

When you are a fucking moron, the dictionary with a nice speech to text option can be your friend Mr. Miles.

    • Jonn Lilyea says:

Thank you! I’ve been trying to figure out what he meant to write all day. I can sleep tonight.

      • CLAW131 says:

Jonn, still working on the “aka idiot” part. Gimme a little time, I’ll figure it out and then you can sleep even better.

  16. Jarhead says:

Don’t even know where to start on this rant. What a low down worthless fake ass POS this loser is. If Butler, In is or ever was his home, my guess is mine will not be the first to expose this goobledyshit (if there is such a word). What a low down M.F. to misrepresent those who suffered FAR more than any of us who returned via the normal route. What’s next? Only one lower form of POSER DNA…..that being some asswipe representing himself as having died in RVN during combat, and returned to life by Corpsmen.
No, I take that back, the really worst kind of POS are those who ingratiate themselves on living relatives of those KIA. Just had one on here recently.
Seriously, do these wannnabees actually think they can bullshit their way into the public image and get by with it these days? Personally I am sick and tired of these sick bastards and their antics. IMHO, we need take it upon ourselves to publicly out every damned one of them to where they’d rather hide like a mouse being chased by a lion than to be seen and heard from for decades.
    O. K. Dave Hardin, I know I surely must have left some tasty entrails for you to gorge on. Eat his ass up, Devil Dog.

    Maggoty fuck, indeed.

  18. 19D2OR4 - Smitty says:

Does the USN wear unit awards over the right pocket and with the gold border? I thought that was just an Army thing.

    • CLAW131 says:

Maybe that something to do with his claimed 28 years of service in the National Guard that was posted in his wedding engagement announcement from 2006.

See the ChipNASA post above for particulars.

    • Ex-PH2 says:

No. We don’t. Not unless there’s some special award involved. Otherwise, it’s the name tag on the right pocket and ribbons on the left. Or at least, that’s how it was when I was in the Navy in the Dark Ages.

      • NECCSEABEECPO says:

        Still the same today.

      • A Proud InfidelĀ®ā„¢ says:

I’m Army, and we wear UNIT awards over our right pocket, does the Navy do likewise?

        • CLAW131 says:

API, as near as I can tell (I have a retired Navy son) the only time the Navy wears anything over the right breast is when there is not an associated full sized medal that goes with the ribbon/unit award citation.

Other than that when it comes to wearing ribbons only, the Army is the only service that separates them from one breast to the other. That’s why AF,Navy,Marines and CG ribbon racks look so ginormus compared to the Army. Everything they ever earned or were associated with is worn on the left breast.

          • CLAW131 says:

Plus, there is the deal that many of the awards that the Army wears as badges are turned into ribbons by the Navy, Air Force and the Coast Guard.

I’ve heard that if the young people of today don’t have a full two row ribbon rack “starter pack” upon graduation from basic training, they are called substandard performers.

    • MCPO NYC USN Ret. says:

If you have that ribbon yes, only with medals on left. He is jacked up.

      • NECCSEABEECPO says:

He is a total JACK ASS Master Chief. If this guy was serving during our time we would have in front of many DRB’S. POS

He’s another dumb ass that wears everything. He was in the Guard, what it look’s like for 26 years. So he has everything on Navy and Army total shit head. I don’t know why all these shit heads have to wear all that crap on Holidays and Vet ceremonies. I have all kind’s of shit after 24 yrs. I am not in any more, so why would I wear it.Would ware just civvies to these thing’s and maybe a lapel pin (War Fare type).

  20. MCPO NYC USN Ret. says:

This fat fucht appears to have walked into an Army/Navy surplus story just moments before a gas explosion.

The result of course is what he is wearing in the photo above.

  21. Jarhead says:

Miles, you F—G loser! You’re the kind of fairy that keeps going through a person’s mind all day long wanting to insult you directly to your face just to piss you off and get you to swing your purse at them. Did anybody ever tell you that you look like a drunken lesbian in a Boy Scout shirt you had stolen off somebody’s clothes line while it was still wrinkled?
You, in the mere presence of seven Marines? Let me guess, there was a jar of Vaseline involved?? If you had been captured along with seven Marines, don’t you know the Gooks would have just tossed your ass in a bamboo stake pit? I mean, really, who’d want to have to drag your fat lazy ass along just to lock you up as a prisoner? Hell man, you wouldn’t have been missed, not even by your dog Pee Pee. And the thought of getting a ransom for you, no the damned Pizza Hut did not deliver back in those days.
Sleep well tonight you faggot-looking phony. Tomorrow you make the news in Butler, In as the big war hero.
Meanwhile, go rite a book, if’n you can spall everthang so it makes sents.

This unloaded ass really pisses me off. Thanks to all you real “Can Do’s!” Semper Fi! Bill (USMC ’59-’73)

Bill, Thank you I’m real “CAN DO” and love working with and for Marines. My last couple of years worked with and for a lot of SOTF’s and the best guy’s were MARSOC(At the time)They got down and dirty with us so cool. ODA was the second and Civil Affairs third with SEAL’s coming in fourth.

Never worked with Rangers and one time did a site survey in Pakistan with PJ’S once and that was to look at EVAC site if we needed one so not that much time. Semper Fi from “CAN DO”

    What a revoltin’ development!

I’m going to put his shit on Seabee Vet Facebook and two other Seabee pages + on Seabee RVN site, that should cover it.

Seabee community is not that big so they will know about this dumb ass, especially with the Nam Seabees they have events all the time.

      • Jarhead says:

Before it’s too late and nearly forgotten, as a Marine I want to thank the Seabees for all the help they gave us tankers. Most important to us was them showing us how to use C-4 to separate tread links when a track was thrown. Lot quicker than beating a long bar on the far side of the track with a sledge hammer. Naturally that knowledge progressed to us experimenting further and further with C-4 to the point it became fun. Thanks to all you Seabees!

        • NECCSEABEECPO says:

Jarhead, thank you and we to love Marines. Seabees build the big shit and you guy’s do the heavy shooting, so we keep working. Had a Marine rifle SQD kept us out of shit while were setting up fake tank decoy’s on the boarder in 91 couple days before the ground war. This was Task Force Troy and we were setting up a fake battle field so every one else could conduct the left hook. We took a lot of small arms fire, some IDF while putting these thing’s together. The Recon Rifle SQD took care of it for us so we kept working. I will always remember that they saved our ass and we helped cover for the left hook. S/F from a “CAN-DO”

    • TheChief says:

No, NAM is too nice now. You would have to send him through a time machine back to NAM.

If you realy want to punish him, send him to the west coast of Africa now, Senegal, the Ivory Coast, etc. They’re not only fighting, they are dealing with Polio and Ebola and all kinds of other fun stuff. Then maybe he would have some war stories, if he survived.

There needs to be a specil brig in hell for these people.

  30. Ex-PH2 says:

Since this beetle’s egg can’t spell or complete even full sentences, I’d like to know one little thing.

In order to qualify for a Navy “A” school in them there Good Old Days back in Yore, you had to take the GCT/ARI, etc. test. For “A” school, a minimum combined GCT/ARI score of 110 was required.

This walking offense to eyesight can barely put half a sentence together, (seriously) can’t spell anything, and seems to not have even bare bones comprehension of English, so how in the blue-eyed world of unicorns and fairy dust did he manage to qualify for CB “A” school?

    • Hondo says:

Maybe “better living through heavy chemicals”, post discharge.

Or maybe he had some “help” while taking the pretest.

      • HMCS (FMF) ret. says:

Maybe the clown suffers from “Wickre Syndrome”?

      • Ex-PH2 says:

If you go to page 11 of that pdf I posted below, it tells you what the quals tests were (GCT, ARI, MECH, CLER) and where the composite scores placed you in one of four categories.

Category I was top of the rock, qualified for any “A” school. Category IV was bottom of the barrel, usually sent for OJT. My guess in the case of this bent twig is that he probably scored quite low, but as our SeaBee Chief has indicated, the Bees needed manpower and sent him to school anyway.

Back then Bee’s needed #’s so that = lower standards.

Before 68 Nam they needed SQD away guy’s working with ODA and had to have clearance’s after 68 were working with Regular forces not so SQD away. That may = dumb ass.

    • Ex-PH2 says:

I do remember that there were four parts to that test series, and one of the was ‘mech’ or ‘mechanical’ knowledge. So he might have done OK on that. Don’t remember what the 4th part was.

      • Ex-PH2 says:

It’s amazing what you can find online when you look for it. This PDF is a 1976 study on the Navy. If you go to page 11, it does give the classes of the aptitude tests by the Navy.

It was interesting to read, in the first part of that study, that women made up slightly over 1% of total personnel, whereas we were told WAVES were supposed to be 10% of the total.

  31. Marine_7002 says:

Look at his email address in the email he sent to the POW Network.

The stupid sonovabitch can’t even spell “Seabee” correctly.

  32. Jarhead says:

The name of the newspaper in New Castle, Pa is The New Castle News. Again, this is the city where AnyWho shows a Hiles L Miles is a resident; which happens to have one of the only two Golden Corral restaurants in a city name Hermitage. This one is 27 miles from New Castle.
Unfortunately there are no veterans who work for that newspaper, at least none in the news reporting department. However, the Editor, Mr. Dan Irwin was interested in the story when I led him to the TAH site. How about bombarding him with calls from other veterans like us? Phone number is 724-654-6651. If he knows a number of vets are sick of these idiots, maybe he will feel compelled to publish the story. Not being a vet himself, surely he will be motivated with enough showing interest in exposing a phony.

I’m calling now, thank you to Marines again.

Jarhead, at least maybe the editor will be interested enough to get a few more paragraph inches for his paper by alerting the Golden Corral and other fine dining establishments that it’s only 42 days until the “Buffet Raiders” show up for their free Veteran’s Day chow.

The thanks goes to Jonn; without whom we would have never know anything about this low-life mumb-ass dotherfucker.
You’ve given my twisted mind another exercise in simple destruction. That would be getting the name of the manager and address of the Golden Corral in Hermitage, Pa.; then send him a copy of ass clown’s pix along with his story of bravery. Would love to see his pix and story on the front window of the restaurant when he gets in line for free grub.

We here in Mercer County Pa. have known for years about this dill hole. He doesn’t show his face much when we are around, that know his phony status. He lays low like the snake he is. He still gets around Lawrence County, but they are catching on as well. What kills me is he receives VA benefits he is not entitled to because of his doctored dd215.

          • Hondo says:

His VA bennies may be authorized and technically legit.

In 2009, the VA made Agent Orange exposure “presumptive” for anyone who’d physically served in the RVN during the Vietnam War (or who’d served on a laundry list of ships during specified time periods). Hilles the LSoS here appears to have served “boots on ground” in Vietnam; if he’s developed any of the specified conditions deemed presumptive w/o time limit, he pretty much automatically gets VA bennies.

The presumptive conditions include many associated with aging, poor lifestyle (esp obesity), and which appear to have a strong heredity component. My guess is he found about about that, then applied to the VA to treat him for normal, aging/bad lifestyle conditions. If he managed to get a VA disability rating of 50% or more – entirely possible if one of those conditions for which the VA automatically recognizes service connection to presumptive Agent Orange exposure is fairly serious – he’d get free medical care from the VA. At 50% and above, all copayments are waived regardless of income.

IMO that absolutely sucks, and is royally soaking the US taxpayer. But it’s VA policy today – courtesy of a guy named Shinseki and long-term pressure from VSOs.

I must say he is the first one I seen here that was a Seabee and then messed that all up. Been to PR a few times and those guys were quite cool to see, my first time seeing a Seabee, then learning what they do, no thank you I’ll stick with aircraft. With that said NECCSEABEECPO kick ass and take names!!! Behind you 100% Chief!!

Unless someone reports seeing a story in the New Castle, Pa. News, I guess this will be the final for this wannabee. Today I spoke with a reporter for the Sharon Herald newspaper of Hermitage, Pa. His name is Michael Roknick. Since he was not a veteran he had little interest in this story UNLESS Miles had done something illegal in conjunction with his lie and phony account of being captured. He did, however acknowledge the moral issue of the lie. Had the reporter been a veteran, my guess is the story would have moved full speed forward. Of course that is only my opinion. What the hell do I know?
