Kenneth Allen Malone; phony wounded hero

| December 14, 2015

The folks at Military Phonies sent us their work on this Kenneth Malone fellow. Apparently he used to be friends with Manuel Ocasio-Reyes, one of the original Stolen Valor Act busts. In the linked story about Ocasio-Reyes, it mentions Malone as a Purple Heart recipient.

Malone is the Quartermaster of VFW Post 4412 in Hudson, Florida, and a member of the local Marine Corps League. He wears the Navy-Marine Corps Medal, which is the equivalent to the Soldiers Medal – awarded for heroism in situations not involving an armed enemy. He also thinks he’s a corporal of Marines.

The National Personnel Records Center disagrees with him;

Kenneth Malone FOIA

It looks like he served in combat in Vietnam, he has the Combat Action Ribbon, but there are no Purple Hearts, no Navy-Marine Medal, and he was discharged as a Private First Class (E-2), not a Corporal of Marines. His VFW post is aware of his embellishments, but they’re fine with having a liar as a quartermaster.

  1. Green Thumb says:

    A plus-size poser.

Dude looks like a bag of ass in that uniform.

    • Ex-PH2 says:

Word. Must be an SV Special on Monday.

    • Hondo says:

Dude looks like a bag of ass.

Fixed it for ya, GT. I’m guessing he looks like one 24/7/365, regardless of what he’s wearing.

Kinda hard to look like anything else when he’s 100% anus.

    • Ken sullens says:

Well this ass clown is a member of the Leathernecks MC in New Port Richey Florida and a Member of the Holiday Detachment Marine Corps Leauge 567, he also claims to have brought another poser Angel Ocasio to justice in Tampa where Angels trial was held this link provides all the info on that and makes Malone out to be the Habitual Liar he really is.

  2. Nonner says:

They’re really coming out the woodwork today…and let me add a hearty middle finger to the VFW Post that’s fine with this shitbag still hanging out with them.

    • Silentium Est Aureum says:

That would be more than rea son enough for me to quit right there, after I took the issue to the State Commander.

    • Twist says:

I asked the Post Commander here if I needed to show my DD-214 to join here. He told me that it wasn’t necessary and that they go by the honor system.

  3. Dave Hardin says:

Well we hit a trifecta today. No POW claim? I am betting his time in the brig before he was discharged will account for him being behind bars.

What do you want to bet shit stain here was UA. Now that he is all proud of his service as a hero, maybe fat ass will stop pressure testing the uniform.

I often wondered how much shit you can stuff in a set of blues. Corporal Cup Cake needs to step out of the chow line.

A VFW Post that doesn’t seem to give a shit. Way to honor veterans there in FL. I am starting to smell a stench drifting from Florida these days.

    • Joe Williams says:

I do not see any sign of the Bloodstripe on his trousers. No NCO would not have this for He/She would be out of uniform. Joe

  4. An Old Arty Sgt says:

AND people wonder why combat veterans don’t want to join the VFW. Duty, HONOR, Country. What part of HONOR don’t they understand??

I will never knowingly join any group that has liars for leaders.

  5. Hondo says:

Non-panhandle Florida? And the post knows, but doesn’t care?

    Figures. Unfortunately.

    • Hondo says:

Addendum: hopefully that Post doesn’t let the QM have any access to Post funds or property.

Let’s just say that letting someone who’s already demonstrated that they’re dishonest as hell have access to either money or property unsupervised is not a particularly good idea.

      • HMCS (FMF) ret. says:

He’s probably tapped the post funds a few times… and nobody has the balls to do an audit ’cause he’s a “buddy” or a “nice guy”

      • Ken sullens says:

We’ll hold on to your butts because this ass bag is quarter master of the post.

  6. Club Manager says:

Let the VFW Post know keeping this liar onboard is not acceptable:
    Post Commander:
    Ladies Auxiliary President:
    Men’s Auxiliary President:

  7. ChipNASA says:

Screw the VFW. It’s really showing everyone it’s ass of late.
I visited one, one time and told them I was an AL member. They said, well you can sign up here, just give us $35 for dues and you’re good to go.
I told them I was never in a combat theater or stationed in Korea, I have the GWOT gimmie ribbon but not the Expeditionary medal. They said don’t worry about it.
I didn’t let the door hit me in the ass on the way out.

    • Claw says:

It’s OK Chip. At least someone at the Post talked to you.

Shortly after moving here 10 years ago, I visited the local VFW post in hopes of moving my membership from Wyoming to Idaho.

Couldn’t even get the Post Commander nor the Adjutant to even shake my hand.

My winter beard I was growing must have been the off-putting factor in a Morman land VFW Post.

    • MSGSKI says:

Hey don’t forget Berlin, I was stationed there in the 70’s and being an Occupied City we qualified for menbership. Was a member of the Weurzburg chapter for quite a few years.

    • David says:

Similar experience here – happened to be taking a class at the local VFW’s hall, wandered into the bar for lunch – despite having told them I was strictly peacetime/Cold War and that I had looked at the VFW website for eligibility rules, was told ‘oh, that’s all changing and we can sign you up, no problem.’ No request to see ID, 214, nothing.

  8. LIRight says:

Talk about an “upwardly mobile EM!” E-2 after three years service? He must have been highly thought of. lol

  9. ChurchOfLatterDaySaints says:

He actually has a good career. A lot to be proud of and why the hell did he put a Navy Marine Corps Medal? Thats a pretty big award thats easily verifiable.

  10. USMCMSgtRet says:

I’m going to check with the Marine Corps League and see if he’s a member with them. IIRC, that organization doesn’t take too kindly to embellishers.

    • Ken sullens says:

Guess again he is a member of Holiday Florida Detachment 567 I told them about Malone gave them pictures, his dd214 ,a news paper article and they never did squat.

  11. Dave Hardin says:

The shame is the VFW is one of the few organizations representing veterans in DC. They do good at that level.

It is because of this epidemic of Posers and failing procedures at the local level that they are losing their foundation.

We need to do something, losing their support or voice in Washington is not acceptable, neither is the current condition of the local posts.

  12. Skippy says:

Holy crapola it’s raining turds today

  13. Climb to Glory says:

Holy shit. So many turds today. Somebody get a plunger I think the stolen valor toilet is getting backed up. Figures it’s Florida. And the VFW knows about it and they’re not doing a damn thing. Goes back to my theory about some of the VFW/AL posts leadership not wanting to take action against these phonies. It’s because they may be phonies themselves. A code of silence between phonies. I see he’s wearing the leather biker cuts. A certain CEO of All-Points Logistics would like this dude in more than one way. Shitbag.

    • HMCS (FMF) ret. says:

He has a certain “Phildo” quality to him….

    • Ken sullens says:

This ass bag is a member of the Leathernecks M/C intl
They where also informed of his poser bullshit and they don’t care ….honor among thieves so to speak.

  14. 19D2OR4 - Smitty says:

The button above his belt probably deserves the N/MC Medal just for holding that jacket together

    • Dave Hardin says:

It looks like he bleached out a cargo strap.

    • Claw says:

Speaking of the belt, what’s up with that four inch “belly slapper/flapper” at the end?

I thought the belt was supposed to trimmed/sized to end with the edge of the buckle.

Oh,wait. He was a PFC. Never mind.

  15. we recently found a member that was in the service 28 days, a transfer from another post. we followed guidelines and National removed him from the VFW rolls. we do require elegibility
information at our post so don’t paint all post with a broad brush.

  16. Ken Sullens says:

I have filed formal charges on Lord Ass Bag here and called for his expulsion from the MCL ,we will see what happens.

  17. Ken sullens says:

Well I reported this Ass Bag to the Mike Armstrong Marine Corps Leauge post 567 Holiday Florida I went through all the proper channels and followed protocol, and they could care less what this poser does as long as he pays dues, also informed Dave Bear post 4412 Hudson Florida commander and like wise he enjoys having the poser at his post as well as Quater master of the post, you read these organizations mission statements and it’s all about Honor ,integrity Yada Yada and these Ass Clowns would not know Honor if it bit them in the ass. No wonder the real vets avoid these places like the plague.

    • OWB says:

Understand your frustration. It must be difficult to remove someone who is qualified to be a member, but who has embellished their record. Should be easy to remove them from office and/or official whatever, though, or at least shame the membership into voting him out.

Thanks for trying. And yes, that is why so many youngsters run from the older orgs.

  18. David Bear says:

I see that my previous reply was removed so i will do so again as another member pointed this out.
Gunner leaves out his own transgressions. Funny how that works huh? Also, he makes it sound as though this is an everyday occurrence. The event in question is from 2005-2007 or so. I do not recall the exact year. Also, he knows this has been addressed all the way up the food chain. He (Gunner) did request a hearing that he (Gunner) did not show up to. Why? He prefers to have everyone else continue his battle. Which is personal and not as commendable as he wants you to believe.
As far as any other discipline on the issue, as it has been adjudicated in several organizations to the highest of levels the matter is closed. Sorry Gunner does not like the way people way higher up the food chain see it but that is why he is where he is. Ousted from multiple organizations for reasons he chooses not to share or explain. Even the VFW, who as so many say, only care about the dues being paid, have removed his life membership (Gunners).
