Scotty Priest; phony Beirut sniper

| December 24, 2015

scotty priest

The folks at Military Phony send us their work on this Scotty Priest fellow who claimed to be a sniper at the Marine Barracks in Beirut – that as a sniper, he tagged the driver of the vehicle with the bomb aboard. He also claims that he has been killing Americans for the government in the United States;

As our friends point out, it was a truck that delivered the bomb to the Marine Barracks in Beirut, October 23, 1983 not a car. Well. Priest got pretty pissed off in the forum and started threatening to kill people to defend his stories when folks started questioning his veracity.

Well, he was indeed a Marine, but it doesn’t look like he ever left the Continental United States and Military Phony went back three times for a FOIA on Priest;

No awards, no schooling other than basic stuff that all artillerymen go through. So, tired of answering questions poorly, Priest decided to fake his suicide;

According to Military Phony, his death didn’t stop him from getting Birthday wishes from his family and friends a few days later on his Facebook page (they’ve since been removed). Military Phony monitored the local media and found no news stories or obituaries announcing the death of this brave Marine.

Nice touch on the suicide bullshit! LMAO!

    Merry Xmas motherfucker!

  2. Green Thumb says:

Dude looks pretty felonious to me.

  3. GDContractor says:

As a commenter formerly known as MCPO NYC RET. said,
    “Neck tattoo. LEGIT!”
At least I think he said it…I might be confused.

  4. OldManchu says:

“One picture shows me in the tree line …”

That’s it! All operators do so operate from the periphery of the tree line! Obvious proof of his sniper role.

    • thebesig says:

Download one of the Mars rover photos from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory website. If you zoom in, and see that shadow in the distance, that is proof that I was there on Mars. /sarc.

This has to illustrate how the rest of us see how ridiculous that statement was.

    • Jarhead says:

Gotcha dumbass. Now I see it. You were the PUSSY willow in the trees.

      • JohnE says:

If he can be seen by a photographer while covering your ass from the trees, I would opine that his fieldcraft needs a little work…

  5. Daisy Cutter says:

On the suicide announcement his ‘now widow’ uses the term “Espirit de corum”. That is the comradery that exists between interior decorators, for those of you that did not know.

    • Hack Stone says:

I like to use a bit of Latin every now and then. Today’s phrase is “Carp a Diem”, which translates into “Fish Of The Day”.

    • MrBill says:

She put in an extra space. It’s actually “esprit decorum” which is having spirit, but in an understated way, without profanity.

His “wife” used speech to text when she generated that. Just ask Dennis (Denny) Howard Chevalier when he tried to say “Sweden”.

O we happy few! O we band of feng shui practitioners!

  6. Daisy Cutter says:

Also, “Forced Recon” was a unit where they made you go out on patrol against your will. Just so you know.

  7. Hondo says:

Maybe one of our USMC vets could help us out here.

What are the implications of an artillery crewman being assigned to “Correctional Facility Branch, SU#2 HQBN, MCB, Camp Pendelton, CA”? Seem kind of an odd assignment for an artillery troop.

    • Keepin' It Real says:

It was to “wash” his military record so he could go on covert missions. Think “The Dirty Dozen”.

    • Hack Stone says:

He volunteered to pull the unit brig duty quota.

    • Just An Old Dog says:

I was in the same Battalion as this guy. I just reconnected (over his BOS) with a guy who had been in my Battery back then.
My friend went to Bn to be the legal clerk. He distinctly remembers this shitbag because he did the deserter package on him in 1982.
They apprehended him somewhere west of the Mississipi and sent his ass to Pendelton where he was seperated. I remember wehen I checked in that “Sub unit two” is where they kept and processed deserters they didnt feel like going through the problem of Courtmartialing.
They gave them Admin seps GOTH and a kick in the ass.

    • Holden Magroin says:

What could an artillery soldier learn in the correctional barracks?

      – Airburst
      – Hairburst
      – Rim Fire

I would surmise that it’s all hands-on, performance oriented training as well.

    • USMCMSgtRet says:

Without seeing the full page of assignments, I’m betting he was sent to correctional custody for a 30 or 45 day attitude adjustment instead of being sent to the brig.

    • Jarhead says:

Being sent to “Correctional Facility Branch” means he was a spotter adjusting rounds landing off course. Fags like him call it Erection Correction Facility where they get to spend 30-45 days locked up with other gay blades. Take a close look at his mustache and tell me it doesn’t look like a Village People “stash”.

  8. Smaj says:

Based on the photo I’d say career petty criminal, not USMC sniper.

  9. Ex-PH2 says:

Well, frak me dead, if it ain’t the classic sniper stache here!

By cracky, I’d listen to just about anything this frelling poodoo has to say, and then I’d fall off my chair laughing. But I would definitely get it on video first. The fantasies get me, every time.

  10. JacktheJarhead says:

Stellar career, four years and a private. Good job, loser!

  11. BlueCord Dad says:

Well, if this poor brave Marine(sarc) has indeed shuffled off this mortal coil, I think we should gather the TAH Choir and sing a hymn. What say you?

  12. Veritas Omnia Vincit says:

Nothing says hard core sniping motherfucker like a lot of really shitty prison tats….

Sack of shit acting like a sack of shit, what a surprise.

  13. Twist says:

This reminds me a time when I messed with a guy I knew. He was one of those guys that always had to one up you on anything you said. Things like how he knew Chris Ledoux. One night a bunch of us were drinking beer at a buddies house and every time he told a story I would lie through my teeth and one up him. I had already told the others what I had planned to do so they knew it was all bullshit. After about an hour of this he got so ticked off trying to one up me he left.

  14. Lawn Dart Danny will be sending emails to Jonn about this guys “suicide” in 3…2…1

    • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

WAIT, I thought it was “self-murder” to him? Either way he’ll add it to the “TAH Body Count”, GFY Bernath, I thoroughly enjoyed watching you blither and make an ass out of yourself to the Shipleys!

  15. Civilwarrior says:

I’ve personally known two of these embellisher USMC types. One was a guy in my first nasty girl unit when I left active duty in 1989, E-5 type 1 ea. Claimed to be a POWER in Vietnam, claimed he escaped after being tortured, etc… never really bought the bullshit, but had to check when TAH posted the link to the site listing actual POW’s and had suspicions confirmed. The other dumb ass I worked with at Continental Cablevision where we were both cable installers. He started spinning BS stories about being a scout sniper in Beirut AND Grenada…wait for it…CONCURRENTLY. He must have had some pixie dust to pull that shit off…or maybe he was smoking it. Anyway, I showed his girlfriend a “good time”.

    • Dave Hardin says:

Those who deployed with BLT 2/8 went to Granada and then directly to Beirut. They relieved the Marines after the bombing and suffered many casualties of their own.

That was probably the most demanding deployment during Beirut in my opinion.

      • IDC SARC says:

This is true. 22d MAU…..omg….32 years ago. OK, now I feel old.

      • Civilwarrior says:

No disrespect intended…his stories were just SUCH horseshit, especially his claim for having the longest range sniper kill in USMC history. That one was supposedly on Grenada.

  16. sj says:

Just how big were the barracks in Beirut? Must have been huge to billet all the folks that were “there”.

  17. HMCS (FMF) ret. says:

Buttmonkey did spend time in the local “pound him in the ass prison” for aggravated assault… must love to be the girlfriend of Bubba, Thor Julio and Mr. “Tiny”.

  18. Dave Hardin says:

Priest joins the growing ranks of phonies who know exactly who I am. I should write an article on how small the Marine Corps combat element actually is.

His mental capacity is not so diminished that he didnt remember me. Neither he nor his unit deployed to Beirut. He used his familiarity with Advance Party Operations and embellished it into something it is not.

Once again, claiming to be part of a unit that was so small we all know each other is never going to end well.

The last person to see the driver of the truck that exploded is a friend of mine. The last thing that driver did was look right at him…and smiled.

241 Marines died in the next instant. Many others died before and after that moment. For Priest to claim he was there is just utter bullshit.

You will never meet a more humble or honorable Marine than Steve Russell. He went on to become a Drill Instructor at Parris Island and retired. Although he would rather be seen as just another asshole like the rest of us, Steve will always be a personal hero of mine. Semper Fi Bro.

    Phuk Ewe Scotty Priest.

    • Ex-PH2 says:

I would love to take a pair of tweezers to the claimant’s ‘stache, one whisker at a time… on an active fire ant hill.

Oh, how can I say such things when it’s the holidays???

    • Skippy says:

These attention W$&@s want to be famous then we will make them famous…

    • Civilwarrior says:

Jesus, that was hard to watch. That MARINE has nothing to be ashamed of. I hear that tremble in his voice, and would give anything to lift that weight from his shoulders.

  19. Skippy says:

another shitbag off the rolls. looks like a 3 month washout. let’s guess all the prison tattoos we’re acurierd in the marines on a super secret mission ? ? ? WRONG !!!!!!!!!
    WHAT A SHIT-BAG !!!!!!

  20. USMCMSgtRet says:

It’s a long read, but it may give some insight of what actually happened that day.

    • IDC SARC says:

      Thanks for the link.

The events of the unfortunate morning start on page 32 of the document(41 of the pdf).

It’s actually worth the read though getting there.

  21. OWB says:

He did at least get one thing right – calling himself a marine instead of a Marine. Perhaps he misspelled sniper when he meant snapper. A marine snapper would be slightly larger than a sardine…

  22. Jarhead says:

Maybe it’s the time of the season, or maybe it’s the entire story about this phony and all his b. s. claims. His just aggravated the hell out of me. Since I personally know a good friend living in his small town of Parsons, Tn., I just HAD to rub it in his face and post on Military Phonies.
Yeah, real bad asses just HAVE to tell the world.

The video posted by Dave Hardin about the Sgt of The Guard that day in Beirut really puts terrorism in perspective. His eyes and demeanor even before opening the video tell it all.

Meanwhile this POS lives his lie and pretty much got away with it until now. His infamy will forever be remembered now in Parsons. They just don’t know when to stop running their mouth do they?

  23. Eden says:

Wow! Faking suicide? Isn’t that a new trick in the poser toolbag (see what I did there?)?

  24. Green Thumb says:

    Lets Go To Prison!

  25. Dave Hardin says:

Scotty Priest has come back to life all of a sudden. Now he claims that he was in jail at the time of those posts, he never served in Beirut, and its all a big mistake.

Phuk Ewe Priest. I was the one you were chatting with when you faked your own death. You know my name shit stain.

You did a apology that only went half way. Now go the whole way for once in that pathetic life of yours and admit you were making false claims about your service and tried to duck out of it all by faking your own death.

    • Just An Old Dog says:

I have been chatting with my buddy who was the legal Clerk in 2/10. Now I remember this squirrely looking fuck in the Battalion Area. He was in Delta Battery. I remember one of Delta’s NCOs. Sgt Charity getting a piece of his ass one day.

  26. Jonn Lilyea says:

Now he’s claiming that someone hacked his Facebook account and wrote all of that crap about him. So I’m claiming that someone hacked TAH and wrote this post about him. Not my fault.

    • Sandman says:

He claimed he was in jail for 8 months and that’s how his Facebook got hacked, I blew that out of the water with one phone call to his county jail, seems he did a whole whooping 2 hours in back in Dec. When I called him out on it he said it was a different jail till I explained all detention centers a linked and the jailer I talked to looked Tenn. wide. I guess he didn’t realize jail time is public record. He blocked me after that.,,,lol

      • HMCS(FMF) ret. says:

Sandman, I’d bet you that he snarfed down A LOT of cockmeat sammiches in those two hours he did in the local poundhimintheass jail!

    • ChipNASA says:

Well I guess this is a double zombie thread because he was alive and then dead and then alive again.
