Phil Haberman; GI Jerk

| September 12, 2017

I’ve been sitting on this file for more years than I care to count – mostly because it’s so complicated. But the folks at Military Phonies mentioned Phil Haberman, AKA DJ Drager, the other day, so I figured that I’d better get on the stick. This guy was dubbed GI Jerk by the Dallas Observer for the way he tried to cheat his wife and the Army. There have been extensive articles written about him on Love Fraud;

He’s also tried his own Nigerian scam tempting people to help him ship found money out of Iraq.

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Sgt Haberman Phil Jason . I need your help in keeping & Investing the money that we moved from Ba’qubah in Iraq safe in your country.
As you know i am not a businessman and need help in Investing US$45 Million US dollars in any good business idea & venture that you have, due to the financial credit crisis i know my funds will be safer in your hands. As you are very much aware most troops will be leaving Iraq this year A milestone in the completion of the British mission in Iraq is achieved with the handover of Basra International Airport. British troops are to leave Iraq by the end of July this year. Iraq will now take greater control of its own security.

We moved this money and kept it safe here in Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone, Now that we are handing over Security of the Green Zone to the Iraqis. We need to move the funds now. You know the funds are legal and we got it from selling crude oil at the black market. we want to move the funds from Iraq now to a secure place or location. Can you provide that for us.?

The total amount is US$45M( Forty Five Million US dollars) in cash. This money is in cash and we want to move it to you as soon as possible. Mostly $100 dollar bill notes. Total of US$45 Million dollars. So your share for helping me is US$12.5 Million dollars. Will you help? The whole process is simple and straight forward. I am still in iraq and i will be discharged soon, so we need to move as quickly as possible. I dont want to take any chances of loosing the funds. That is why we must act now.

We are sharing everything 50/50. This is a legitimate transaction. If you are interested, i will provide you further details and instructions. Please keep this Private & confidential.
Can i trust you and will you help?I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours Faithfully,

Mr. Sgt Haberman Phil Jason

He has pretended to be Special Forces;

He’s really just a criminal though. Haberman goes up and down the rank scale, he gets tossed from the Army, and somehow weasels his way back in, only to get booted once again.

You can read about his civilian criminal career at Military Phonies.

According to Dave Hardin, the media is interested in him once again, so I guess his saga continues – expect more updates as we hear about them.

    • Mick says:

(Multiple secondaries; phony SF Green Beret and other poser bling goes flying everywhere)

    • Mick says:

Doc: a couple of saved rounds.

Did you see the photo of this assclown in USMC Summer Service ‘C’ uniform with Sergeant stripes in the ‘Love Fraud’ article posted above? Looks like he’s wearing a scuba bubble and USN/USMC jump wings. However, I can’t make out what any of the ribbons are.

Apparently, on top of all of his other bullshit, this turd blossom is also claiming to have served in the Marine Corps from 1989-1998.

In that same article, he also claims to be ‘trained as a sniper, an underwater specialist and crypto-linguist’.

It’s always ‘sniper’ with these idiots.

Not sure what an ‘underwater specialist’ is supposed to be, though.

  2. AZtoVA says:

Who the hell wears a utility uniform to a courtroom? THAT alone should be enough to identify him as a poser and bounce the turd straight into a cage.

    • 11B-Mailclerk says:

When I was stationed at Ft Stewart, it was a base regulation that anyone attending court, for any reason whatsoever, was to be in correct Class A uniform. The guidance I received wwas “If you are dropping off paperwork, or just run inside a court building to buy a coke, better have your A’s on and squared away”.

I was called as a witness to the Federal court on base, and three differnet NCO’s checked me out before allowing me to go. Oddly, the one MP present for the case was in BDUs (oops), two more were absent (whoopsie), and the one actual defendant/participant came dressed “biker” (YGBFSM!).

The judge thought I was the defendant, because I was in uniform. Getting that straightened out took some time. “No really sir. My name is not (bikerdude). See? It is right here on my uniform.” (MP: facepalm)

      • Roh-Dog says:

Someone from Stewart in a court setting?
        THOSE choirboys?

        • Andy11M says:

When I was stationed at Ft Stupid, I had to take two Joes from my squad up to TDS (trial defense services) before they were to receive company grade Art 15s. You should have seen that packed waiting room.

          • Roh-Dog says:

I thought we had behavior problems out at the 25th ID.. After deployment I went to Benning as an instructor and a bunch of guys went to The Rock, saw them on a TDY teach.
I saw Joes talking back to NCOs, the stories of Joes going savage; drugs, assaults, armed robberies…
I got the unsolicited advice, if I got orders, sign a dec-statement.
            something in the water.

      • Green Thumb says:

I had to wear them as well.

    • IDC SARC says:

Pretty common here in Cumberland County akshully.

      Verboten in the USMC.

    • Yef says:

Everyone in the Army goes to the court in uniform.

    • Skippy says:

I did after being on a plane for 10 plus hours then rented a car and straight to court I didn’t have a choice,
I apologized to that court for it and the judge was ok
      With the inproper dress attire…

    • Rhoadwarrior says:

Kelly believes him, just like his 2nd wife pam sweeny.
So, his license plate says PARATROOPER and he states he filed HONORABLE discharge docs in FL. Whos going agter him for that crime? He was never honorably discharged.

    • Rhoadwarrior says:

The judge believed him and granted the annulment leaving his 1st wife with $40k in damages…
He kept all the BHA, got a VA home loan and is in a 3rd foreclosure…

  3. Ex-PH2 says:

He’s only willing to share $12.5 million of that $45 million?
What a greedy jerk! Why should he get so much and the mark he entices get less?
Seriously, anyone who is dumb enough to fall for those scams needs special help with his/her/its problem.

    • Silentium Est Aureum says:

      Equally greedy jerks.

    • Poetrooper says:

My now deceased, hippie, brother-in-law, who had the highest IQ in the family, tried to talk my father-in-law into sending money to one of the Nigerian princes.

Which goes to show, high IQ does not equate to common sense…

  4. Sandman says:

This cat was my first poser, I met him personally back in 07, he was milking a non-profit called Soldiers Angels for cell phone bills, and hotel rooms. Once we found out he was a fraud, I offered to show him his spine if he didn’t leave. He left, had he been a true SF operator I’d be waking up in a hospital. The guy is a POS of the highest order. He is who got me into SV.

  5. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

    Fucking. Piece. Of. SHIT.

  6. OWB says:

He’s just sticking with what he knows. Usually, that’s not a bad idea, with continuing criminal activity being one of the glaring exceptions.

Hey, Phil! It’s way past time to learn how to behave within the bounds of the law. Try coloring inside the lines for a while. Really. There is still plenty of room there for innovation, creativity, and all that other stuff you apparently have a talent for tapping.

    Getting out the popcorn…

  7. Green Thumb says:

    “Phony” Phil Haberman.

If only “Phony” Phil Monkress had a son.

Mary (POW Network) had pages and pages on this turd.

This dude is in rare air in the poser community.

  8. Roh-Dog says:

The hair. I can’t stop looking at that hair.
This dude should do society a favor and remove himself from it.
You hear me DJ GI-douche?! KYS.

    • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

He would be doing this World a huge favor by removing himself from the gene pool.

      • Roh-Dog says:

true. he’d have to go swimming in the right waters to be in the gene pool.
that gleam in his eyes says he prefers strong hands and a well defined adams apple.

  9. justsayin says:

AKA DJ Drager – world wide gigs paid for how??
Had some problems over service dogs as well. Keeps re-upping on forged docs.

    • HMCS(FMF) ret says:

He pays for his gigs at the ghey bars by “butt sniping” the clientele… when he’s not “fluffing”.

  10. Skippy says:

Crazy Shit, I knew the SSG that re-enlisted his ass in 2007
Talk about a ton of story’s coming out them this
this Turd may have some issues up in Vegas
    Karma is closing in

  11. GDContractor says:

You had me until, “According to Dave Hardin…”
    Dear lord.

  12. Morgan Edwards says:

I am just finding out that Phil Drager is a NGMFSOB Poser… and bring out the cuss jar. He has worked his way into our Louisiana disaster relief groups. I am beyond rational anger. Someone tell me more. Is Kelly Scovill a part of this or a victim of his scam too?

    • Rhoadwarrior says:

Kelly believes him, just like his 2nd wife pam sweeny.
So, his license plate says PARATROOPER and he states he filed HONORABLE discharge docs in FL. Whos going agter him for that crime? He was never honorably discharged.

    • Dennis-H18 says:

His current girlfriend Kelly is absolutely a victim of his scam. She believes what he tells her that everything written about him online is all the work of his crazy ex wife.

  13. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Same kind of POS as Kyle Christopher Barwan.

  14. 26Limabeans says:

Guy needs an “intervention” to help him straighten out.

  15. Carlton G. Long says:

Why guys with a badly receding hairline still try to sport a flat top is beyond me.

    • Skippy says:

Looks like he is definitely a huge Attention Whore

    • Carlton G. Long says:

“…said he uses an assumed name for personal reasons…”

The reasons being he is a faker and a booger-munching stooge.

    • CWORet says:

Thanks for that link. “Hollywood Phil” they immediately started calling him. Fitting. Does this EX OTH discharge Marine (emphasis on the EX) have any outstanding warrants?

  16. jonp says:

If the money from selling the oil was legal then why sell the oil on the black market and hide it in the green zone then contact people about moving it out all hush hush? Did anyone fall for this shit?

    • CWORet says:

Come on, “You know the funds are legal and we got it from selling crude oil at the black market.” Sounds legit.

  17. Mason says:

Nevermind that he has the writing skill of a third-grader, but “You know the funds are legal and we got it from selling crude oil at the black market” is clearly not true. If you sell something on the black market, that means it’s illegal.

That people are stupid enough to fall for this shite is infuriating.

  18. Green Thumb says:

GI Jerk as in he likes/dreams of himself jerking GI’s off in his face.

Folks, do a little homework on this maggot.

He is the “Prince of Serial Posers”.

I will leave it at that.

  19. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

I hereby make an official motion for The Wall of Insults®™to be deployed against Phil Haberman.

  20. jonp says:

I read all of the comments and you guys are being too harsh. I mean, he has a POW/MIA bracelet and a Luminox Watch! What else do you want???

  21. Bobo says:

It looks like he spent his whole time in the National Guard and the DD-214s were from his releases from Active Duty for Training. Somehow he got into the 19th SFG as a support guy and they sent him to comms school at Gordon.

  22. Just An Old Dog says:

In my opinion, having worked a long time on Nigerian Scammers its probably NOT him. He has a huge internet profile and his mug is all over.
Some enterprising scammer is using his image and name.

    • Bob says:

I have dealt with him over the past few months and he is definitely the same guy. He came off as phony.

  23. Bob says:

I can’t believe, I just had lunch with this scumbag a couple weeks ago. He came off as a little phony but I didn’t expect this. I was working with him to get a couple dogs sent back to the US. I’m so glad this all came out. You really can’t trust anybody. I still can’t understand how he got access to certain places.
