Spencer Rapone in deep kimchi

| September 29, 2017

So that fellow, Spenser Rapone who flashed his support for communism and his disdain for the US at his graduation last year seems to be in a world of shit. I guess folk have tracked him down in his enlisted assignments and his time at the Ranger Battalions was less than stellar if we believe our friends at Connecting Vets who report that;

Lt. Col Matthew Bockholt, director of public affairs for U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) confirmed that Army 2nd Lt. Spenser Rapone was “RFS.”

What this means: Released for standards (RFS) means a soldier is kicked out of the Battalion. A source in the Ranger Regiment veteran community tells ConnectingVets a Battalion member RFS means that the individual “no longer meets all standards as outlined in the Ranger Standards ‘Blue Book.’ The most common reason for this is failure to complete required training, but it could happen for a variety of reasons.”

Rapone had a deployment to Afghanistan, and his father, in a now-deleted post claims that deployment changed him. I don’t know how a deployment to Afghanistan would make him consider communism, though;

So, despite that, Rapone was accepted at West Point where his faculty mentor was one Rasheed Hosein, a professor of Middle East history, according to PJ Media which reports that Hosein is on administrative leave and he’s being investigated for something unrelated to Rapone, we’re told. Rapone and Hosein took a trip to India together a few years back. I still don’t see how all of that would make him a communist, though.

Anyway, he made his way through the Infantry Officer Basic Course last year, and then he went to Ranger School around February this year and for some reason they bounced him out. According to Stars & Stripes he’s back at his unit in 2d Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum. He’s in the field until later today according to his leadership;

[Brigade spokesman Capt. Michael] Mahar said Rapone has been in the field all week with his battalion, where he is an assistant operations officer helping to facilitate live fire exercises. Those conclude Friday, he said.

The 2nd Brigade Combat Team issued a statement saying, “Both the Department of Defense and the Army have longstanding policies encouraging soldiers to participate in the democratic process. However, the Army has strict rules regarding the wear and appearance of Army uniforms. The 2nd Brigade Combat Team, Tenth Mountain Division chain of command is aware of 2nd Lt. Rapone’s alleged actions and is looking into the matter.”

So, yeah, he’s in deep shit. Especially when it came to light that he disparaged President Trump (of course), Secretary of Defense James Mattis, Vice President Pence and John McCain, in public on his social media accounts. He also expressed his love for traitor and spy Bradley Manning;

Rapone’s Reddit account describes Manning’s “courage and tenacity” giving him “strength” to espouse his beliefs in the military.

I guess “courage and tenacity” means “incessant whining” in commiespeak.

I must respectfully disagree Dustoff. If it were not for female Air Force 2nd Lt’s from some AF site billeted in the same BOQ during club school at Fort Lee, I would have had to leave the building to find female companionship. I will agree with you about male 2nd Lt’s though.

Assistant operations officer as a 2nd Lt means he hasn’t got enough snap to be a Plt Cmdr and that’s where he got dumped.

    • Martinjmpr says:

“Assistant operations officer” is one of those made-up jobs that has no assigned tasks and puts the officer in a position where he can do as little damage as possible.

I mean, seriously a PV2 right out of basic probably has more responsibilities than him since likely the Private has a license to drive a HMMWV. 😉

      • Green Thumb says:

They generally put guys that were legitimately hurt in needed staff positions or if they are solid, command of HHC (CPT Level) or Delta elements (Heavy Weapons Company).

        Not always, but generally.

The turds and shitbags generally get pimped out to taskers or Brigade bitches.

    • Jonn Lilyea says:

That’s what I’m thinking – he was probably pretty low in his IOBC class. Or he did terribly at Ranger School.

      • rgr769 says:

I would love to see his peer review reports from his platoon mates at Ranger school or have a chat with whoever was his ranger buddy before he got the boot. He is blue falcon material in my view.

        • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

WOW, he really decided to be as big of a little SHIT as he could! It sounds like he decided to act like some self-entitled college freshman instead of a US Army Officer, his ass is toast! IMHO he is the DAB of Second Lieutenants.

        • Hondo says:

Wow. If that’s report is accurate, that’s a level of immaturity rarely seen. I’m surprised that he didn’t end up standing at attention in the Infantry School CG’s office in person explaining himself and his behavior before departure.

Couple that with making political statements in uniform and public statements (tweets count) disrespectful towards the POTUS, VP, and SECDEF, and this tool has well and truly screwed himself, career-wise.

But if getting tossed out is his plan, he might want to reconsider. Pretty sure that an officer getting thrown out for cause while under an ADSO (Active Duty Service Obligation) means that Uncle Sam can recoup a pro-rata share of the cost of whatever school or program they attended that incurred that ADSO. And since Service Academy grads have a 5 year ADSO, well, that means he could be on the hook for mid-6-figures if he gets booted for cause.

And he’s IMO at risk for far more than an administrative separation already.

          • Ex-PH2 says:

“Going to a battalion board for only failing patrols is totally outside the norm.” – posted forum.

That sticks out, Hondo. It’s like he’s daring them to do something to him, so that he can claim some injury or negative result from it.

His behavior indicates that he’s got stuff in his head – not looney-tune stuff, mind you – and intentionally getting himself dropped is part of it.

            • MSG Eric says:

Kids today don’t understand the difference between respectful rebellion and batshit crazy rebelling against EVERYTHING rebellion.

The counter-culture is getting to become the culture for them and they just don’t get it.

            • rgr769 says:

These effing commietard/progtards always think they are entitled and invariably display their arrogance. He seems to be oblivious of the fact that as a lowly Ranger student you have no rank and few rights. In my class, a reservist Major from 12th SFG(A) who was a Korean War CIB wearer and an LA homicide detective took shit from buck sergeant Ranger instructors for about four of our 8 weeks, and he was our student company commander for the entire Benning phase. He put up with their BS with grace (may he rest in peace).
It looks like this arrogant shit was even disrespectful to the O-3’s to O-5’s running Ranger training. Maybe he has decided he wants out of his five year service obligation. I would love to see him serve a few years as the E-1 he deserves to be.

              • Martinjmpr says:

Maybe he has decided he wants out of his five year service obligation. I would love to see him serve a few years as the E-1 he deserves to be.

Yeah but I would hate to be his platoon sergeant. Better to just kick him to the curb and let the Treasury department dun him for the cost of his education.

He can get a job at a lefty web site like HuffPo and pay back the taxpayers from that.

Better than him being a troublemaker in an Infantry platoon somewhere.

          • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

If it’s decided that he owes reparations for his time at the USMA, yes he could owe a six figure sum, and DFAS knows how to collect no matter what stunts he tries to pull! I see and predict a Dismissal in his future, I just wonder if they’ll make him do any time to go with it?

        • Silentium Est Aureum says:

He fucked himself 9 ways from Sunday, and that’s being kind.

        • CWORet says:

How did I miss this post earlier? Thanks, Eden, that really explains volumes. So he didn’t just get dropped, he fucking quit because it appalled him to be recycled to day 0 (although, I admit that would be tough to swallow) but it sounds like it was his arrogance that caused that. I’m really not liking this guy.

        • Martinjmpr says:

What’s interesting about that article is that it says he actually got good peer ratings.

This shows a pretty significant level of calculation on Rapone’s part. If he can turn the lefty asshole stuff on and off at will, then what he’s doing appears to be deliberate.

    • Reddevil says:

That does happen. He may have actually been fired already.

Of course,, battalions are sometimes over strength LTs these days. He could have been in the queu waiting for a platoon. If he did not get tabbed after BoLC this is very likely.

That said, he is definitely not going to get a platoon now. Regardless of any admin, NJP, or legal issues I can not imagine any commander letting him lead Soldiers.

      • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

“That does happen. He may have actually been fired already.”

I’ve seen cherry 2LT’s get canned and suddenly end up at a desk assignment in the basement of a Brigade-level HQ building, we’re talking windowless office while the Enlisted Clerks at least have a window to look out of on the upper floors!

    • MSG Eric says:

Yeah it is a step above being CHEMO (Chemical Officer), the guy who does all the USRs.

He types shit up for the S-3 and does whatever the Ops NCOs tell him to do.

He didn’t get a platoon probably because he was RFS’d out of Ranger Battalion AND didn’t make it through Ranger School. I’m guessing he was probably also a shit student at West Point too, from the look of his fanaticism with douchebags like Che.

      • Bart ZP says:

Not sure if that’s entirely fair. The LT chemo was usually alright or else he got fired and sent back to a support unit. The excess non-tabbed INF LT’s in the 3-ship were usually there because they were already fired somewhere else…

        • MSG Eric says:

Its really been a 50/50 for me. To clarify, Not in the sense that they suck worse than the guys who are fired, but in the sense of low man on the totem pole.

And yes, CHEMO can be useful, but they get all the work no one else wants to do.

    • Bobo says:

So, we paid for his education and we’re paying his paycheck along with BAH and other bennies, and the best we get is a kid that has to be babysat by the battalion ops Sargent in the TOC. What a waste of cash.

  6. Guard Bum says:

And 2LTs who fuck up will forever more be refered to as pulling a Rapone.

He needs to be pulled immediately from a line unit for his safety and for the good order and discipline of the unit.

Be interesting to see a face to face between this dweeb and Sec Chaos.

    • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

“And 2LTs who fuck up will forever more be refered to as pulling a Rapone.”

I sure hope so, I can see some Officer or NCO giving a briefing on social media and finishing it with “DON’T BE a Spenser Rapone.”

    • MSG Eric says:

      Don’t pull a Rapone Bro!

Don’t get yourself stuck in Raponistic situation!

      Got Rapone?

Pull a Rapone, get yourself boned!

I’m a bit tired but those are a few starters I think are decent for brainstorming.

    • The Other Whitey says:

“Be interesting to see a face to face between this dweeb and Chaos.”

The little shit would probably melt and spontaneously combust if Mattis so much as entered the building.

      • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Could he even come within a mile of SECDEF Mattis’s presence without pissing and shitting himself before fainting?

  7. JacktheJarhead says:

The reason I heard for his drop from the Ranger Course was LOM, Lack of Motivation. So what I don’t get is why he is in the Army if he hates the country so much? I mean, Big Army should be the enemy of the proletariat! They suppress the workers and the peasants!

But really LT, A CHE T-Shirt? Really? That is so high school!

    • AZtoVA says:

Yeah, especially with how Che would view Rapone’s other hero, Bradley.

    • Reddevil says:

By his own admission online he is on the Long March, which is a strategic communist effort to enter government institutions and subvert them from the inside

      • CWORet says:

Other violations aside, that statement right there guarantees he gets cashiered.

      • Ret_25X says:

He will be hired by the State Dept for sure.

How is an interview conducted there?

        “are you a Marxist?”

        “you’re hired”

        • David says:

Have a relative at a ‘prestigious’ school popular with State and the SJWs, Brandeis. Many of the teachers dislike grading for whatever reason and give everyone an A. No grades lower than an 85 can be given. This is what passes for graduate education now…

      • jonp says:

Not too much fucking subversion when that asshat was on Facebook and social media telling everyone what he was up too.
I haven’t seen that much undercover subversion since Valerie Plame went undercover CIA on the cover of Cosmo riding around DC in a convetable

        • rgr769 says:

YES, he obviously needs some intel training on how not to break cover. He had a great cover story which was true and unassailable. He could have been a mole for our enemies for years. But his arrogance got the best of him at Mountain Ranger camp. He just couldn’t suck it up and do the recycle. If he had stayed respectful, he prolly would have only had to re-do the mountain phase.

          • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Maybe he might have made it through to get mud-sucked in th Swamp Phase before they threw him out?

  8. Ex-PH2 says:

So the possibility of his being cashiered out of the Army is possible, then?

I’d love to take him on a trip to North Korea, for a firsthand experience in real communism and how it works. I’ll go with him to the DMZ near – what’s that town? – and wave at him as he crosses the bridge. And I will make sure that he has ‘commie lover’ tattooed on his forehead, right in plain sight.

Has he had any experience with anti-aircraft guns? I hear the ammo is rather large… an painful.

    • James Haltom says:

Yep up to the DMZ and kick his assets over the line at Panmunjom. Yea, that’s the ticket.

    • Reddevil says:

Being a communist is not a crime, so they can’t really get him on that. He is entitled to his political views.

-No one owes him a leadership position, especially when he has publicly shared his disdain for the leadership and the institution. We can allow him to languish as the assistant to the S-6 or something.

-making political statements in uniform IS punishable under the UCMJ.

-He is also guilty of one of the cool crimes that only officers can commit:

Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

-Also, arguably, he has admitted online to being part of a seditious or mountainous plot, arguably during time of war.

-this is at the very least a fraudulent enlistment. He also violated his enlistment oath, his oath as a cadet, and his oath as a commissioned officer. Commissioned officers have special language for just this occasion:

I, _____, having been appointed an officer in the Army of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of _____ do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God.” (DA Form 71, 1 August 1959, for officers.)

Not to mention conduct unbecoming, the general article, and the very real possibility of espionage and subversion.

So, The soon to be former LT is indeed up to his neck in it, and will at a minimum find himself on the street, hopefully with a new college loan debt.

      • Reddevil says:

I should add my sure to be unpopular opinion that the president should refrain from tweeting or speaking publicly about this, as it could be seen as undue influence and preclude some if not all legal action in the case.

        • Reddevil says:

That should be mutinous plot, not mountainous. Although, he is in the 10th Mountain, so maybe it does apply

        • CWORet says:

I certainly hope Chaos made a quick call to say “I got this one.”
And dear God, the tweets. He must stop with the tweets!

          • Ex-PH2 says:

Some of those tweets are, from what I’ve seen, specifically meant to distract the SJW howlers from what is really goig on. It’s like throwing an old bone sprayed with the scent of beef on it at a dog: smells good, but there’s nothing there.

      • Retired Grunt says:

I see a referred report and non select to 1LT in the young man’s future, unfortunately.

    • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Kaesong if I remember correctly. Downtown Caracas would be another good place for him while Korea has bitter winters.

      • Ex-PH2 says:

Oh, how about if he’s sent in from the Chinese border side? We don’t want him, and the Chinese won’t want him, either. He has no secrets to give away and likely never did, and he’ll be about as useful as a one-year-old ad section newspaper. But the Norks wouldn’t know that, and probably won’t care if they can put his useless ass to use as a propaganda machine.

        • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

That or end up like a defector I heard about in Korea in the 80’s, it was said that he defected to the North and one or two weeks later his corpse was found floating down the Imjin River with a ton of stab wounds.

    • The Other Whitey says:

The starving Norks would probably crowd around him like a zombie horde and devour his sorry ass.

  9. Wireman611 says:

Bradley and Spencer sitting in a tree, K I S S I N G. First comes love, then comes marriage, but in this case there’s no baby carriage.

  10. AW1Ed says:

    Not even a twitch.

  11. Martinjmpr says:

Dann, I really wanted to give this kid the benefit of the doubt but it seems like he walked on his dick with football spikes on.

Thing is, he made it through RASP (if he served in the Ranger regiment) so he’s not a pussy, and he made it through West Point so he’s not a dummy.

Which makes what he did just that more incomprehensible.

I’d honestly like to ask the young LT just what he thought would happen when all this stuff came to light? Seriously, how did he think this would play out?

    • AZtoVA says:

Communist rank and file are notorious for not being able to see the second order effects of their decisions.. Not surprised here, either.

    • Graybeard says:

If I may respectfully disagree on a point, Mj:

Making it through West Point (or any college) only proves that one can meet the professors’ demands on tests and other work assigned. One can obtain and regurgitate knowledge and facts. All college proves, as a rule.

Being able to take that knowledge and those facts and apply them to real-world situations (not the “real world” simulations of college) is what marks one as not a dummy.

The Educated Idiot is not a fictional character, unfortunately.

Therefore, I maintain Rapone is a dummy. Just an educated dummy.

      • The Stranger says:

But is he, in the words of Fred G. Sanford, a “big” dummy?

      • Martinjmpr says:

West Point is not just a “college” though.

He also had to meet all of the USMA standards as far as his conduct, appearance, extracurricular activities, sports, etc.

He had to perform in both basic and advanced camp, hold leadership positions, be accountable to others, work within the structure of the student leadership, etc etc.

You cannot succeed in that kind of environment without having some situational awareness of the world around you.

And that was my point – he cannot claim (nor can anyone claim on his behalf) naivete or foolishness of the Bradley Manning variety.

Whatever else Rapone is, he is not an “idiot.”

        • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

I remember being part of the Summer Training Cadre in the early 90s while I was AD. Every summer they brought (Likely still do) AD Troops from various installations for a Cadet Summer Session between their Plebe and Sophomore years. They’d go from station to station each day learning basic Army tasks, one day they’d be doing Infantry, one day FA, another day Engineer and so on. during that I saw and taught a fair share and saw a number of what I thought would turn out to be great US Army Officers while I looked at some and thought “If the US Army wants to give THAT a Commission it needs its head examined” and I thought the same with ROTC Ca-dots as well. During my AD time I saw good leaders as well as dick and titty-steppers from there, IMHO Rapone decided to stomp on his pecker and nail it to a tree stump right out of the gate.

        • 26Limabeans says:

          Idiot savant?
Or some such condition as the DSM may allow.

          • Ex-PH2 says:

No, more likely, he’s just an arrogant idiot, hoist with his own conceit.

            • Martinjmpr says:

Arrogant and full of himself, and not particularly self-aware.

“Stupid” implies a lack of mental capacity, “Foolish” I think is the better term.

Like the guy who pees on the electric fence, he really should have known better.

    • rgr769 says:

What he has done/said did not “come to light.” No one “outed” him. He put his views in support of what used to be called treason out on the inter-tube for the world to view and read. He should have maintained his “cover” like most of his government fellow travelers in the “struggle.”

    • MSG Eric says:

I’m guessing he got a pass on many things because at the same time our CINC was cozying up to Cuba, Iran, etc. A CINC who also had communist “buddies” throughout his years and espoused socialist leanings (spread the wealth; you didn’t build that!).

Not 100% on that, though he does already have ONE professor who’s on admin leave. I’m guessing the rest are under investigation to find out what they knew of his conduct and political leanings as well.

And yet again, the powers that be have missed out on multiple warning signs and red flags about someone in gummint service who should’ve been caught long before.

      • RGR 4-78 says:

Probably believed the press when they said Hillary couldn’t loose.

      • SailorE says:

West Point says the islamic studies professor that was Rapone’s mentor is on admin leave for a separate, unrelated issue. However, they are not providing the date he was put on that leave. If it was last week? Now that’d be a mighty strange coincidence.

        • MSG Eric says:

Even if it is just a coincidence, there is a lot more to that guy than meets the eye. I’m sure there are a few things he’s being reviewed for.

    • TheCloser says:

Future Democratic US Senator and Secretary of State?

  12. sj says:

WTF? In that academy pix he’s sporting a haircut that wouldn’t pass muster even at the Air Force Academy? I know, compared to his asshatery a haircut is nothing but, damn, doesn’t the USMA enforce grooming standards?

  13. DataDawgDVX says:

I hope they bounce this Satan fucker so hard, his ass breaks into pieces on the surface he lands on.

  14. Green Thumb says:

    What a shitbag.

A NO GO BOLO at both the Officer and Enlisted side of Ranger School. And in Battalion, no less, but could get no Tab.

LOM? More like THS (Tiny Heart Syndrome).
Just another “Tabless” Infantry fuck. His future command assignments will include: Latrine 7 in Cell (Brig) Block 6. Or conversely, “Tilt Rod” Checker in Fort Living Room.

I would be curious to see his peer evals. I bet this turd was a “Spotlight” Ranger to boot.
I also wonder if he worked that dudes balls on the trip to India?

Also, curious how the USMA missed this? I look forward to their explanation.

    • Ex-PH2 says:

He sucked up to someone and cried a lot, GT.

    • bg2 says:

Indeed, how did the USMA miss this? Might it have something to do with his professor, Mr. Hosein? Who the eff is this guy? What did he teach? We all know that civilian schools are rife with leftists/communists. Might that perspective have entered into the USMA, as well?

Not to in any way excuse the abominable behavior of Rapone, but what the heck are military instructors teaching at USMA? Have they been infected with the leftist virus, also?

    • Hondo says:

Simple. If he was a Congressional nominee and met minimum entry standards, he got accepted. End of story.

I’ve read that he was indeed nominated by a former PA Congressman from the greater Pittsburgh area.

Once there, if he passed his courses and stayed out of trouble, he got commissioned. Given the political climate between Jan 2009 and Jan 2017, do you REALLY expect anyone there to have raised any objections without ironclad proof of wrongdoing?

The photos of him at West Point making political statements appear to have been taken late during his senior year and weren’t publicized until recently. And as Reddevil has observed, political views are in general not prosecutable crimes.

Bottom line: if he was smart enough to keep his nose clean and be very discrete regarding whom he shared his actual political leanings, it’s entirely possible he could have flown “under the radar”. And it’s entirely possible his faculty advisor (who is currently on admin leave, I believe) – if sympathetic to his political views, – may have been advising him regarding how to keep a low profile.

      • SailorE says:

He was nominated by the congressman out of high school and was not accepted. According to the ConnectingVets story, it appears that he was either nominated by a commander, either that or the one from 4 years prior was still valid? But that congressman was out of office by then so that seems odd. If the “RFS” didn’t go in his record because it is specifically a ranger thing, then his subsequent command wouldn’t know he was a dirtbag, allowing him the chance to make the effort to look good enough to get them to nominate him? Who knows.

        • Green Thumb says:

Back in the day, the USMA would send out recruitment teams to AD posts.

I remember they signed up one of our guys (E-3). I was an E-2 at the time. I thought it odd at the time that they would take him due to his heavy-laden tattoos. Not that I care, but that was my first experience with the USMA. Being that the ink was up and down the legs as well, I thought they would not take him.

It turned out that he had a decent career and fulfilled his 5-year requirement to the Army and USMA.

Point being, the USMA also culls from the ranks. This is how they got this turd. Unsure if the future cadets from the ranks need a Congressional signature, but they might.

Either way, they need to up their game. Imagine the misery the folks serving under this clown must feel.

We used to always have games (mostly combative but others as well 0 like feats of strength, races and even a few chess matches) were the LTs had to duke it out for a few days extra leave, long weekends, etc. for the platoon.

Can you imagine having to depend and pull for this guy? Fuck that noise. Give me KP duty, Range Duty or permanent 24 on/24 off CQ Duty.

  15. Spade says:

The post where he praised Manning is where he said he was making the “long march through the institutions”.

“The long march through the institutions (German: der lange Marsch durch die Institutionen) is a slogan coined by student activist Rudi Dutschke to describe his strategy for establishing the conditions for revolution: subverting society by infiltrating institutions such as the professions.”

    • sj says:

      Probably a Bergdahl fan also.

    • Ex-PH2 says:

The advantage of the internet is that you can make a lot of noise about what you are doing or planning to do, and get like-minded people to help you with it.

The disadvantage of the internet is that you can make a lot of noise about what you are doing, or planning to do, and get like-minded people to help you with it, while the government and other people who don’t like your attitude are watching… and warning each other.

The more this crank runs his mouth and boasts about his plans, the better. We who love this country and want to keep it intact need to know what people like Rapone are up to if we mean to put a stop to it.

  16. Martinjmpr says:

Let me guess…he caught the PTSD in Afghanistan and that’s what broke his brain?

    • OWB says:

Will partially agree with you. He could also have been a true believer prior to his first enlistment. Real world experience could be what triggered his inability to keep his true believer status hidden, self-converting to special snowflake status instead. Think devolving/regressing from devotion to the cause being paramount and worthy of putting aside self centeredness to taking on the persona of special individualness requiring recognition of his sacrifice in public ways.

  17. Jonn Lilyea says:

Of course, this could be like in the Humphrey Bogart movie, Across the Pacific, where the Bogart character flames out in public as an Army officer so he can infiltrate the Japs and stop their invasion of the Panama Canal Zone.

  18. Loach says:

And another hero of the left is born.

I’m glad he was found out and his career such as it is will be over but at this point all the publicity is going to help him after he is out.

  19. Jus Bill says:

I foresee him trying a PTSD or TBI cop out stemming from his deployment time.

  20. tc says:

Commie Bastard! Suspend his clearance (if it isn’t already) and kick him out.

    • MSG Eric says:

I’m betting that was done as soon as his chain of command was told about this. Until results from the investigation are concluded, he’ll be locked out of everything.

As a 2LT in the S-3 he probably had access to “some” things, but unless 2/10 is deploying soon, I’m guessing he didn’t have much to be involved with. Maybe they had him working the USR? That’s on the SIPR-Net, but I doubt there was a huge amount he got to see.

  21. Sparks says:

He’ll be the longest serving, never promoted LT in Army history.

  22. Stacy0311 says:

he didn’t just step on his dick. He put on golf shoes at went Lord of the Dance on his crank. Then nailed it down with a railroad spike.

How long before he has a byline at Salon or HuffPo?

  23. IDC SARC says:

Fukker needs to have his clearance pulled.

    • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

I always thought that a Security Clearance was suspended during an investigation like what’s going on with Commie Boy, I hope so.

  24. Skippy says:

    So is it me or….
he is wearing a combat patch.. I do believe it’s ranger.
did he deploy with one of the ranger regiments ???
I thought he washed out of RIP
A ole friend with 10th mountain.. said he is a shit-stain
But that it’s political and they can’t get rid of his crazy ass
    I wonder what’s up

  27. 7711C20 says:

Could he be looking to get out of his commitment? Can he be reduced to e-1 and forced to finish his commitment in a unit that is deserving of this s___head.

  28. ChipNASA says:

    And there’s this…..

The former Democratic congressman who nominated communist 2nd Lt. Spenser Rapone to West Point is now disavowing Rapone’s recent comments….

“Former Democratic Rep. Jason Altmire of Pennsylvania told The Daily Caller News Foundation that Rapone’s long history of extremist tweets, which include calling Mattis an “evil, vile f****,” is shocking, disappointing and abhorrent……

“Several years ago, I met Spenser Rapone when he was a high school student seeking an appointment to West Point,” Altmire said. “At the time, he was an outstanding, well-rounded student who came from a good family. I have not been in touch with him in the years since the appointment, and I was shocked and extremely disappointed in the recent reports of his indefensible actions.”

So the Congresscritter (D) who nominated him thinks he’s gone full potato as well.

  29. Andy11M says:

While I spent all of my time in the Army in Mech Inf units, where it was actually more common than not for Platoon leaders to NOT have their tab, I’ve been told that in a lot of the light units and especially in the Airborne units, if you lack your tab, they won’t give you a platoon until you get it. So 2Lt Dumbass is currently pissing away any PL time he could have had trying to get through Ranger School.
Also, having been stationed at Ft Stupid, I’ve met countless soldiers that were dropped from 1BN for everything from DUI, to beating up SCAD students down on River Street,to not being able to run fast enough, so I really want to know why he got the boot.

    • Reddevil says:

An infantry LT without a Tab in 10th Mtn is a second class citizen. He would be assigned to staff or as am assistant XO or something along those lines with the primary duty of getting ready to go back to Ranger School.

He would technically be waiting for a platoon to open up, but he would drop to the bottom of the list whenever an LT one SFC with a tab showed up

    • sj says:

Way back in the white name tape Army I was given a platoon as a leg in the 82nd. Well, not really, it was SSG Jones’ platoon but he let me pretend it was mine as long as I did what he “suggested”. Back then I was commissioned on 1 June and reported to Bragg on 2 June. Didn’t go to Signal Basic or Jump School until Sept and returned to “my” platoon in Dec. The troopers ragged me big time whilst a leg but always in good fun and respect.

      • Graybeard says:

Sounds like you had a good SSG.

        • sj says:

Yep. Any success I had was attributable to what he taught me. When he said: “Would the LT like for me to…” I listened because I had probably never thought of that. My answer was “That’s a great idea SSG Jones”.

    • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

I spent some time on Ft. Benning myself in a unit than near 3rd BN and Regimental HQ and often saw the then-RIPs either working or training every moment of the day, even back then it took a lot to get into a Ranger BN and very little to get kicked out. Just say one bad speeding ticket for say 15+ over the limit or a bad Counseling Statement could get one thrown out!

    • FireFinder says:

From what I read somewhere else, he was RFS’ed from 1st BN after mishandling a Gustav during live fire that endangered others.

  30. PFM says:

His best bet while out there is to just get on the range road and start walking north. Maybe he can fit in with one of the families fleeing the US to cross illegally into Canada and claim asylum. I’m sure Justin Trudeau would give him a big kiss.

    • ChipNASA says:

Well they wouldn’t take Bitchly Manning so why this walking cumstain?!?

      • PFM says:

This POS doesn’t have a criminal record…yet. Good opportunity for some Canadian anti-Trump soundbites, too.

        • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Dismissal is the Officer equivalent of a DD, thus I’m sure once he gets one he’ll be barred from entering Canada just like Bradley Manning was due to his DD.

Just think about all of the bright, promising, high school kids West Point passed over to pick this idiot. Wonder what his application letter said as to why he wanted to attend West Point. I know the West Point admissions staff had ben under orders to increase the diversity of admissions under Obama, but this was uncalled for.

    • PFM says:

I’m gonna bet part of it was “My PSG was a douche to me, and I’m gonna get my superpower bars and show him!”

  32. Martinjmpr says:

Just think about all of the bright, promising, high school kids West Point passed over to pick this idiot.

That’s the part that galls me the most, TBH. Someone else didn’t make the cut so Rapone could get in, and now in all likelihood the US Government is not going to get anything out of Rapone.

I can only hope that whoever got passed over so Rapone could get in goes to a good college and gets an ROTC scholarship so he can be the combat leader that Rapone never will be.

BTW when I was in the National Guard I once had an E-4 in my section who was a USAF Academy grad. He told me he declined to be commissioned (I never asked why he ‘declined’ but it’s entirely possible that his “Declination” was not entirely voluntary) and served I think 6 years as an enlisted guy in the USAF and rocketed up to the rank of SRA (E-4.) He was a lawyer in civilian life, one of at least 4 enlisted lawyers I ran into in my Guard time.

He didn’t last long in the unit though. I think he showed up for 5 or 6 drills and then either transferred to another unit or switched to the IRR.

    Yup. Dickstomp in 3…2…1…

  34. RM3(SS) says:

Seriously, what is a civilian, even a well educated one doing being an “advisor” to West Point cadets? I would think their advisors would be military officers not someone who’s claim to fame is their upcoming book “Islamic Civilization”. From his bio, it’s clear where his sympathies lie.

    • Cobrakai99 says:

Academic advisor. Some of the instructors at the academies are civilians. That percentage went up with the Clinton downsizing. We had some great ones at USAFA. The ancient European/Mid-east history professor I had was a former Isrealie commando, with good war stories (mostly about events having nothing to do with combat). One that I had was Col on Friday and Professor on Monday. There are other active duty officers and NCOs to mentor the cadets back in the Squadron/Company area.

      • RM3(SS) says:

A former Israeli commando would be a great advisor. This guy is a Canadian citizen and deep into the Islamic world. It’s similar to the radicals that have taken over a lot of our colleges so they can indoctrinate young minds in my opinion.

  35. MustangCryppie says:

“So, yeah, he’s in deep shit. Especially when it came to light that he disparaged President Trump (of course), Secretary of Defense James Mattis, Vice President Pence and John McCain, in public on his social media accounts.”

Sounds like a clear violation of Article 88.

“Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

    • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

I’m wondering if each time he did it could count as an individual charge of an Article 88 Violation? The source I looked at stated that the maximum punishment for violation of Article 88 of the UCMJ is Dismissal with one year Confinement with loss of all pay and benefits. I wonder if they could revoke his West point Diploma like the Army can revoke a Ranger or SF Tab?

      • Reddevil says:

        The short answer is yes.

In addition, if he made any contemptuous remarks about the governor or legislators of New York while he was there they are also punishable offenses.

It comes down to this: he is entitled to his views. However, they seem to be inciponsitent with service as an Army officer. He should never have sought a commission, or he should have resigned the moment his thoughts crystallized the way they did. That would have been honorable.

Since he not only continued on the path to a commission but engaged in seditious acts and contemptuousspeech, he has crossed into the realm of sedition- one step shy of treason.

In other words, he went beyond speech to taking actions that he intended to weaken the security of our natio and overthrow the government through illegal means. He stopped short of sabotage or waging war (through a terrorist act, for instance), but in my mind he should be charged with everything possible and punished accordingly. A quiet separation for the good of the service will not do in this case.

        • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

I concur. IMHO quiet separations are what Commands use for getting rid of dirtbags that aren’t worth the time, resources or expense of a formal Court Martial, critters like ones poppingnhot on drug tests, repeat DUI offenders,…

  36. Virtual Insanity says:

Grapevine reports LT Rapone was recalled from the live fire (that, apparently, he planned), and had a “meeting” with a large contingent of more senior officers, including the JAG, then spent a good 2 hours on the phone with a lawyer…..

Gee, it looks like this enterprising young fellow, who may insist he was only engaging in harmless pranks, may have his head handed to him. One less jerk on the taxpayers’ dime, he is.

    • Carlton G. Long says:

Cue for some “expert” to say, “I’ve been on a ton of court marshall boards and we never paid attention to haircuts.”

If this is a genuine personality change, he may well have an illness. At the least, evaluate for it.

Brain cancer is not a moral shortcoming.

But if just ass-hattery is in play, seat him fully on the hatrack and show him the door.

    • Just An Old Dog says:

His own father says he noticed the change after he came back from Asscrackistan.
Whatever got a hold of him seemed to have been noticed while he was a cadet.
Since he started attending and graduated under the Obungler Administration you know damn well that the staff there were reluctant to pull the trigger on any type of action that may have resulted in the dismissal of someone who was a leftist.
He needs to be purged from the ranks.
Since the military has a new sheriff in town that will allow them to cut out the useless fucks who have done nothing but take up space pushing the SJW agenda.
The purge needs to happen, and happen fast. All the Clintonistas and Obamites need to be shown the door, but quick.
If the Next election brings another POS leftist President they will have to start all over in their mission to emasculate the military. We have at least 4 years to try to unfuck whats been done for 16 of the past 24 years ( come 2020).

  41. HT3 '83-'87 says:

We just fired…I mean had someone resign…because she blasted the CEO on Facebook. This is no different.

In this day and age, hiring and firing of personnel because of their social media postings is the standard.

Reality Winner (what a fucking name) was very active in her social media accounts of what her political/world view was and its contradiction to current US policy. Nobody should have been surprised when she leaked official documents.

    • Hack Stone says:

Well, regardless of what I say on social media, I can never be fired. When I was brought on board as Director Of Media Relations for the proud woman owned business formerly located in Bethesda MD, Elaine Ricci said that it was a lifetime appointment, and being the President of the company, she had that authority. . That was done a handshake. Now, if someone wants to dispute that and have me fired, they can bring Elaine Ricci into the courtroom, and swear under oath, that she ever made that offer.

  42. Hack Stone says:

I have video of his converse.

  43. Oldfist says:

Every institution has visiting professors. Even West Point. I know they have visiting professors in engineering. Helps the students a lot, to learn from someone with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

But…if they have visiting profs in the hard science fields, might they also, in the social sciences? Who knows if someone from Cal Berkeley or one of the East Coast elite socialist schools was allowed to “train” West Pointers, taking up residence for a year or more? I’m suggesting here that the problem -might- be more widespread than Rapone’s advisor, alone…but I don’t know the facts.

  47. Guard Bum says:

I just read that he is one of many that were open about it at West Point and they have now gone out to their units where they have a plan to sow dissension. One of his classmates told Stars and Stripes he was open about it for a long time and everyone knew what he was posting and saying…including staff.

I have a feeling this is going to snowball and we will be shocked at what come out.

    • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

So if that’s the case, then only the surface has been scratched and things will be getting very interesting!

    • MSG Eric says:

Well, they did just have a scandal a few months back as well. I know because a friend of mine who’s a lawyer got involved with it as a legal defense.

      This wouldn’t surprise me either.

Again, with POTUS being so openly warm and welcoming with Communists, like Cuba, its no wonder they didn’t do shit about it. Same as with previous presidents and their philosophies.

But, there’s a new sheriff in town and this guy is going down, along with that dirtbag (alleged) professor and all the other communists who were open about it at the Point.

This guy reminds of dude that was in my AFROTC back in the day who pulled a similar stunt. We had a guy who was prior-E, and was a civil servant while going through college. On the surface this guy looked like your all American gung-ho future AF officer, with the regulation haircut.

Well he belong to an organization of radical left thought. He thought it was a bright idea to publish some not so propper stuff in the school’s new paper.

He was promptly dis-enrolled from ROTC as well as he lost his CS position. He was being investigated as standard procedure to be possibly put back in the enlisted ranks.

Knowing this was a real possibility, he wrote another piece outlining his plans to be an intel officer and gather as much information as possible than defect to China. They dropped him from the IRR and did not make him go back.

In the middle of that he packed his bags and went to China to teach English. Luckily the USAF was able to just wipe him away before he could do any serious damage.

  49. Eden says:

I spent some time yesterday reading the entire 37-page thread at

It appears that he began to show commie tendencies sometime in 2014, after he’d been at West Point a while. Very likely his advisor, Hossein, had a significant part in that. I’m thinking that perhaps he intended to be “caught” to make himself a “martyr” for the “cause” and at the same time, draw all the attention away from other moles (Ross, Sullivan, whoever took those photos at the WP graduation, probably others). It’s certain that he was “daring” the Ranger School staff to boot him so that he could add that to his “martyr” creds, but instead, the commandant wisely gave him a Day 0 recycle instead, which Rapone then refused (resulting in the LOM drop).
