David Lee Hill; phony SEAL

| October 30, 2017 | 40 Comments

Our partners at Military Phonies share their work on this David Lee Hill who claims that he was a UDT sailor while he was wearing a SEAL Trident;

I think he’s saying that he’s wearing the SEAL Trident “out of respect” for SEALs or something. Actually, I DON’T wear a SEAL Trident out of respect for SEALs.

He had twenty years as a radioman, served in the Vietnam War, but I guess that wasn’t enough for him;

Not a UDT Frogman, either.

    Fucking lying E-8 cocksucking shitbird…

    • NHSparky says:

      Definitely dishonors the Chief’s Mess.

Making Senior Chief at all, let alone <20, is no small feat, but noooooooo, gotta shit all over that with his fucking lies.

      EAFBOD, E-8 Hill.

  2. jim h says:

well, two things strike me as odd here: one, no 927 valor medals on his uniform, and that is strange for a SEAL imposter. two, what in the actual fuck is up with the totally operator sunglasses?

sigh. way to tear up your service, grandpa.

  4. Bim says:

Who puts an actual sign that says “Wall of Honor” on his wall of honor?

He says it’s “growing”, but you would think a 20 year retired Senior Chief would have a bit more to show off than a picture of his garage polka band (?), what looks like a few pics taken at the Legion meat raffle, and a one of him at his confirmation (or maybe playing a ghost at a grade school play). That’s the weirdest love-me wall that I’ve ever seen.

  5. Ex-PH2 says:

He made Senior Chief and he pulls this stunt? Grrrr!

    • NECCSeabeeCPO says:

Exactly, not a part of the message now, and just an E-8 in my eyes. POS..

      • NECCSeabeeCPO says:

        Phone auto corrected. “Mess”

      • spd0302 says:

I’m dumbfounded by this type of behavior Chief. I’ve mentioned in comments before that I was a prior enlisted avionics tech in the Corps and later became an infantry officer.
I went to FRAMP school at NAS Whidbey Island in 1989 was a bit of a spectator to Chief’s initiation as one of my 1st Class instrustors was going through it.
To see the pride of pinning on anchors and the deep brotherhood was something that stuck with me. Same thing with being a Platoon Commander on the Belleau Wood with Echo 2/3…seeing the goat locker and how the Chief’s ran a ship was something I gained a deep respect for. I cannot understand how a Senior Chief could demean himself like this to become an e-8.

I hate the old guys the most. I guess the younger guys trying to get rich or get laid I can understand, if with disgust. But the old guys? They are just sad. Add to that the fact that the bulk of the people that these oldsters are lying to look up to them with love and respect – I don’t even know what to think.

I hope that when I reach that age I can just be happy with what I actually did in my life, for better or worse, and not feel the need to make crap up.

    That is all.

    • AnotherPat says:

      Graybeard: Agree…it is pitiful…

Some folks just can’t let go and move forward…perhaps they want to be stuck in a timezone, because that may have been the happiest time of their life.

It’s one thing to have a “I Love Me” wall or shadow box in their Mancave. They have that right to do that. Displaying it on Social Media or the Internet or wearing their uniform in public with medals or badges they did not earn long after they left the service is another…it’s as if they crave attention and want approval from others.

      Again, sad. So sad.

      • Graybeard says:

I suppose it would be called an “I Love Me” wall in my study, although it is all Scouting related, not military.

But it reminds me of the young men and women I’ve known, the fun we’ve had, and the expectations I need to continue to live up to. It’s not for bragging.

        • AnotherPat says:

Graybeard, yes, I’m sure some of us do have a “I Love Me” wall or Shadow Box in our homes.

As I said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. We all should be proud for what we did, whether miitary or not. And the kids and grandkids enjoy them.

The problem I personally have and this is my own opinion, is when some folks share their shadow boxes or “Wall of Honor” on Social Media or the Internet, to the public, strangers…and they have Bogus Awards or Medals or Badges or other items in their display that they did not earn and “boast” about it to others. Or wear those bogus awards/badges in public or displaying pictures of themselves wearing those items on the World Wide Web, which is in the case of David Hill with the Trident or other phonies we see on TAH.

What they display in their own home is their business, to include having a shadow box with unearned badges or a RANGER banner in their garage/mancave. If they want to fool their family, then they have to live with that. It’s just when they share it openly for others to see, knowing deep in their heart that they are creating their own alternate reality world, that to me is different. They are being deceptive. And they get caught. We have seen it happen too many times on TAH when folks do post their pictures of bogus shadow boxes, award certificates, etc on Social Media or the Internet and are called out. They just were not thinking of the consequencs for their actions…and it backfired on them with public humiliation or embarrassment to their families.

Perhaps I used the wrong terminology of “I Love Me” wall and I apologize.

          • AnotherPat says:

On a side note, Graybeard, I do feel awful using my poor choice of words “I Love Me” wall and am truly sorry that I hurt or offended you as well of others because of my carelessness. Please forgive this old Soldier (Hangs Head in Shame..) 😔

  7. Green Thumb says:

Ain’t no phony like an old phony.

  9. AnotherPat says:

Another sad case of a “Look At Me!”embellisher who has the case of brain hiccups as well as low self-esteem…and got caught.

And as usual, comes up with excuses instead of coming clean with their charades.

  10. Cowpill says:

If I were to be a phony seal, I would like to be just like him. NOT!

  11. Guard Bum says:

Looks to me he awarded himself another medal too. No wonder his wall keeps growing.

  12. RM3(SS) says:

Way to bring shame on the rate. At least you were a skimmer.

    • NHSparky says:

Don’t laugh–there was a guy on here who was a boomer nuke ET who for some reason got busted to E-3 and shitcanned.

So what do you think the fucker ends up claiming? Yup–SEAL.

      Head aft, nuke!

  13. ChipNASA says:

    /a shame, really.

  14. Sandman says:

There’s no phony like an old phony!,,,lol

  15. Ex-PH2 says:

This just makes me sad. This guy had 20 years AD and 10 more in the reserves and then retired, and he turns a respectable career into a cartoon. Just sad.

  16. Combat Historian says:

FFS, a retired senior chief posing as a SEAL? WHY???

  17. Perry Gaskill says:

It’s not surprising Hill was a radioman. He’s certainly got the ears for it. I’m not saying I’ve seen smaller doors on a ’56 Lincoln, but…

  18. Wilted Willy says:

My pos brother puts all of these assholes to shame, now my brother really went all out, just read some of the crap he claims on his DD214! It is the best work of fiction that I have ever read and not even an apology from him, he still keeps rocking the lies! 19. Jeff lph 3 1963-1966 says:
