Bombing in New York City

| December 11, 2017 | 125 Comments

Broadcast news is reporting that a man wearing a suicide vest was injured when the device malfunctioned prematurely at the New York City Port Authority. From Fox News;

NYPD and the FDNY confirmed to Fox News they are investigating reports of an explosion “of an unknown origin” near 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue. Police tweeted A, C, E subways lines are being evacuated.

It’s unclear if there are any injuries at this time. Several people wrote on social media there was mass chaos at the bus terminal, some saying there was a “stampede” when an explosion was heard.

From ABC6;

Sources tell ABC News a possible pipe bomb was detonated in passageway below ground at the Port Authority.

One person has been taken into custody, sources say.

There have been few injuries, police say. Police believe the situation has been contained

The New York Post says this is the bomber;

The man – a 27-year-old who lived in Brooklyn and is possibly of Bangladesh origin – had wires attached to him and a five-inch metal pipe bomb and battery pack strapped to his mid-section as he walked through the Manhattan transit hub, sources said.

The man partially detonated the device, which he was carrying under the right side of his jacket, prematurely inside the passageway to the A, C, and E trains at 8th Avenue and W. 42ndStreet at around 7:40 a.m., sources said.

Police took the man into custody.

One thing I’ve noticed is that islamic terrorists love to play calendar date games with their attacks. Remember the 3/11 attack on the Spanish train station in 2004, the 12/11 suicide bombing in Algiers in 2007, and the 9/11 attack on Benghazi in 2012? Dollars to Doughnuts this attacker is a Religion of Peacer…

    • Martinjmpr says:

I thought they used a different (lunar) calendar, though?

That’s why Ramadan moves around each year, it’s on a Lunar calendar, not a Julian calendar.

I think when I was in Kuwait in 2004 it hit around late September to mid October or something.

      • Combat Historian says:

Yes, the Moslems use a different calendar. But islamic terrorists apparently love to use the western calendar dates of the 11th of the month to launch attacks, mainly as a psychological weapon of fear against westerners in “honor” of the original 9/11/2001 terrorist attack date on the western calendar…

    • Ex-PH2 says:

Well, they haven’t done 10/11, 8/11, 6/11, 5/11, 4/11 and of course, the most famous of all, 7/11, where I think you can still get the Big Gulp.

    • MSG Eric says:

I recall someone typing up an article about their fascination with the number “11” unlike us Westerners who are more attuned to “10”. One reason why the Benghazi attack was such a big deal, 11 years after 9/11.

I thought the train attack in Madrid was 7/7 though? Or am I thinking about another attack?

  4. Jonn Lilyea says:

    According to Fox News;

Former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton told MSNBC his sources in the department said the explosion was an “ISIS-inspired attack.” Bratton said the suspect was a man in his 20s from Bangladesh.

But, who knows. All kinds of people tell MSNBC all kinds of stuff that is wrong, lately.

Pretty sure this was solely because the sodas are still too large. Who needs more than 12 ounces of soda? I demand sensible portion control. I am clearly too stupid to make my own choices. Big soda is just a tool of the denim industry. Conspiring to make me buy larger and larger pants. Where does this lunacy stop?

  11. Yef says:

It is time to ban suicide vests. We need common sense suicide vest control laws.

  12. Bill R. says:

Not really sure how a device malfunctions prematurely. It looks to me like it malfunctioned right about on time, maybe even a bit late.

  13. Mike P says:

Woke up just a little bit ago. Fox was reporting about the bombing so I switched thru the channels to see what else was being reported on the bombing.

MSNBC was talking about the number of hours Trump watched TV a day.

CNN was reporting about the amount of Diet Coke the President drank each day.

I give it about 10 more minutes before MSNBC and CNN to start blaming Trump for it.

  14. 26Limabeans says:

Probably used black iron pipe instead of galvanized and neglected to grease the threads.

    • Mason says:

How to know you’re a bad suicide bomber? You blow yourself up and nobody else gets hurt.

How to know you are the worst suicide bomber? Your vest goes off and you don’t even suicide. Like a Kamikaze hitting a trampoline.

      • A Proud Infidel®™ says:

That’s what was referred to as a “Wile E. Coyote Bomber” in one of the primer books they gave us prior to A-stan. One instance given was when a hadji decided to make a bicycle IED by packing the frame with plastique and strap some mortar shells to the rear rack for extra punch. While he was pedaling it at oh-dark-thirty throughout the streets of Kabul, he hit a bump just right and *BOOM*, he blew himself and the bicycle to confetti, but other than a broken window or two there was no other damage.

  15. RetiredDevilDoc8404 says:

Maybe they had Clock Boy work on the trigger/timer. Another of the Religion of Pieces greatest hits? My question is this, if he suffered from a malfunction of his vest, and he dies of his injuries, does he only get 36 goats instead of 72? Inquiring minds want to know.

  16. Ex-PH2 says:

Well, it IS Monday. Obviously, this is a disgruntled commuter protesting the crowded subway lines in NYC.

From the picture, it looks like he blew his arm off. I wonder if it hurt.

  17. HT3 '83-'87 says:

  18. sj says:

Co-exist? It was really a warming vest that had a slight malfunction.

  19. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Has the liberal moonbat media started blaming President Trump for it yer?

    • rgr769 says:

The Fake News CNN is already saying the motivation for the attack is because Trump acknowledged the reality that Jerusalem is the de facto capital of Israel. And that was reported on Wolfie’s show before this POS was even fully identified .

      • Mason says:

Of course they did. Rushes to judgement only happen if you have a white guy to blame. Without the embassy to blame it on, we’d be hearing about how he is a “lone wolf” and “inspired” by ISIS but not part of ISIS and how we shouldn’t assume he’s Muslim or did it in the name of Allah.

Watch for the “news” to embargo this story, at least until after the Alabama senator is chosen, and then it is all the fault of Trump!! 11!!!

  27. CWO5USMC says:

I don’t think we can call it a “suicide vest” because he’s still alive. How about an “extremely painful vest that promises several meetings with Bubba, Thor, Julio and Mr. Tiny?”

Isn’t calling it a suicide vest more like fake news? //SARC//

  28. rgr769 says:

Many of these inbred ‘Slamo turds have IQ’s in the 70-85 range, so we shouldn’t expect them to be very effective if they fashion their own bombs without any training from someone who knows how to build an effective bomb. Remember, the Times Square bomber couldn’t get his car bomb to detonate. And he didn’t look quite as retarded as this wog.

    • jonp says:

Thank god they ain’t too bright. I, like most on here, could wander out to the garage and whip up something better than that tool did.

      • Mason says:

Especially with how the MSM always goes into detail of how it was made, with what it was made, and how easy it is for anyone to make. With their 3D renderings and all. It’s like an IED engineering class.

Like Saddam only needed a satellite subscription to get all the intel he’d want on US forces and their expected attack date/time, the terrorists can just watch our news to find out where the last guy went wrong and improve upon it.

      • OldSoldier54 says:

Amen on Thanks. May they continue with low IQ Vest of Pain fodder!

      • Ex-PH2 says:

I recall a classmate of mine in high school chemistry making a “rocket”, or basically, a test tube full of chemicals which, when heated by the Bunsen burner, produced a pressurized focused afterburner flame that created sparks, noise and a small amount of smoke.

You probably can’t do that now in high school. Do they still have chemistry classes in high school? Or are the kids too young for something so dangerous?
I know that the Gilbert chemistry set my brother got for Christmas one year was more fascinating to me than it was to him. I learned how to make invisible ink that could be heated and read with a flashlight. It was potassium cyanide and something else, probably lemon juice. He was more interested in wiring oil lamps to turn them into electric lamps, and building airplanes.

    • Ex-PH2 says:

I think your estimate of their IQ range is far too high. But I know that you like to be generous when you can.

I hear that Trump’s Diet Coke intake was a bigger story than this terrorist on CNN.

  33. Jerry920 says:

We should be grateful that these ISIS “inspired” clowns are so incompetent. That won’t last forever. As long as we keep hiding our head in the sand about our non assimilated Muslim guests we’re going to have these types of attacks.

  34. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

Maybe his first words to Responders were “HELP, I’ve fallen and I can’t blow up!!”?
