Monday Musings Open Thread

| December 10, 2018

There are times when I look into the junk folder, or trash folder, to see which troll didn’t make the cut. Or, the post of someone that got deleted from the thread. As you guys have already suspected, there are people that simply don’t like us.

For example, we had the sock puppet wannabe that acted as a “champion” for a recent Blast From The Past “winner”, who made multiple attempts to post. Using different usernames, and emails, this individual attempted to slip through the initial review. The plan was to go on to being a troll without the need for moderation.

Reading these rejected postings is like watching someone put objects, of different shapes, into a ball with holes matching each of the objects. Then, this person grabs a star object, and consistently tries to push it through the circle hole. Having no success, this person picks up a square shaped object, and repeatedly attempts to push it through the circle hole.

Then, they finally pick up the circle object, but attempt to push it into the star hole.

I’m going to post the comments here, that didn’t make the cut, under the moniker “Non Compos Mentis”.

Our first quote is from someone that’s a shining example of what an NPC is. This person is also very triggered. The mainstream media spreads propaganda, in this case, “Orange man bad!” Then they see how much of an effect their propaganda is having on their audience.

It’s like that saying about slinging stuff to the wall, and seeing what sticks. Well, this person shows that something stuck:

Yes, this next sock puppet ended up with a post in the trash. But, what you guys don’t see with this comment doesn’t take away from what you guys already know. It’s like a phony, featured here over two years ago, that claimed to be a combat wounded veteran. He liked saying, “Ass whole”, wrote in “all caps”, then used one of his sock puppets to tell his other sock puppet how this phony “showed” him a “whuppin”.

So, here’s a phony putting himself on a pedestal:

I personaly served with Non Compos Mentis 03 and an attest to his claims. He was a valued member of our unit and has risked life and limb to serve his country. He performed most clandestine operations for his country and risked it all more than once. I would back off if I was you because this guy was known to be a lose canon able ad ready to go off at a flicker of a chance. Just a friendly advice.

In this next post, he removes the suck poppet and posts under his actual identity. He tries to sound like a “lawer”, attempts to insult our intelligence, attempts to come across as “educated”, etc. Like the guy above who kept saying “ass whole”, this individual talked about us being at our mother’s place.

Marvin, sir, please desist in writing to comments on this internet website. It is below you and we will convene at a more advantegous time where we can discuss further actions in the future. These degenerates cant fathom your inteligence let along engage in meaningful conversatin. We will have our day and it is them who will be the forsaken ones and left to sit on there moms couch. Email with our plans is forthcoming to you.

This guy resorted to insults, because whatever was said about him destroyed his ego, and his phony persona:

Detractor, troll, or someone trying to be silly?

All this effort when all they had to do is to go by what they’ve actually accomplished. Many of these individuals have a track record that they’re not proud off. Not being accomplished after the military leaves them with a desire to amplify their military service.

They put in the effort to build a phony persona… Instead of doing something constructive like changing the very attitude that’s causing them to keep falling short in life. After being exposed here, they prove to us why they have a track record that they’re not proud off.

You must be talking about Thomas Reister, who is not a combat wounded veteran and failed to enroll in a remedial grammar class.

    Two things:

    1. #SpellingMatters
    2. Dan Bernath is still dead and not likely to blast anyone anytime soon.

    • 5th/77th FA says:

Lawn dart Dani Boi? Isn’t he the one that blasted a furrow in the ground after balsing his way thru the pines and palmettos? Doesn’t the control tower still show him at minus 6 feet AGL?

Don’t know which I enjoy more, foo gassing/clay moring a troll or repelling sock puppets.

      Clean up on Thread 4.

Sock puppets are the better of the two. They try on a new identity but retain the same tone of words and spelling mistakes. I like how you know we’re really getting under their skin. 🙂

    • rgr769 says:

But, Chief, you have to admit Dan was a “blast” back in the past. He provided us with many hours of entertainment, except for those that had the misfortune to deal with his litigation stunts.

Colt Bulot sure likes to use Bernathianese on his personal blog. Just saying..

I find the NCMentos crowd interesting. They think they know what they’re saying, but it comes out all squished up.

    For example: “…lose canon”

Well, ‘lose’ as an active verb has several specific meanings, to wit: 1 – failing at something such as a competitive sport; 2 – letting something go missing, e.g., lose the money, lose the map; and 3 – unable to keep track of something specific, e.g., lose sight of a trail, lose a pencil, lose your mind.

And then ‘canon’ refers to a specific musical form, usually found in religious services, as well as being a specific form of material accepted as an official part of a story in the fictional universe of that story. It is often contrasted with, or used as the basis for, works of fan fiction.

So, basically, the NCMentos peeps are whiny complainers with nothing going on in their lives.

If you ever find Pachelbel’s lost canon you’ll be sitting on a goldmine.

    • Ex-PH2 says:

I left out the part about how Canon thinks its products are cameras, but they can’t compare with Nikon.

      @Nikon shoots!!!!

      • Thunderstixx says:

From my experience, Pentax is the only camera to have.
I carried one while I was up in Alaska, in the Infantry mind you and carried a little
Spotmatic F all over the state both winter and summer.
It’s the only camera that worked at -40 degrees.
Some buddies had Canon, Nikon, even Leica and they didn’t work at all.
I took thousands of photos up there. Somewhere around 20,000 slides I believe.
And I still have them too !!!

My K-1000 lasted a bit over 30 years, until some sort of Florida mold got loose in the innards, even on an inside glass of one lens.

That was on darn reliable camera.

I am told by a pro friend of Pop that the K-1000 is often the choice of pros who face likely theft of gear. It is good enough and reliable enough for pro work, but affordable to lose to local hoodlums.

I was also taught by the same pro to wrap the strap around my wrist, not hang on my neck. Protects better from a snatch, prevents choking, and turns it into a blunt weapon of some significant effect if the circumstance is dire. He also said, without explanation, “thug broke before the camera”.

          I loved my K-1000

PH: Friend talked me into following a group on FB that uses only Sony A7111. They’re talking stuff waaaay over my head but stuff I’m sure you would understand. I had a Minolta 35mm with three lenses that took great images but nothing like professional stuff. Sold my Minolta, three very nice lenses and a carry case recently. No point hauling it around. Had it from mid-70s. From what I have gathered on their site, the Sony with a nice Sony lens or two goes for about $2000. I understand F stopes, focal depth and mostly mechanical things such as that. The new stuff is gee whiz electronic.

  6. AW1Ed says:

Those were some of the milder comments, but thebesig was making a very valid point.

Another point since we’re on the topic, don’t make it any easier for some troll with a grudge to get your Personally Identifiable information (PII) from the blog. There are some nasty people out there who wish us ill; I would hate to have any of you get rolled up in a lawsuit, just because you posted up your real name. Down Doppler Danny comes to mind. His lawsuit(s) named everyone on the blog, real name or otherwise, so keep that PII under wraps.
Gawd, now I sound like Navy Mandatory Training. I blame Danny-boi.

    • Veritas Omnia Vincit says:

Yeah, having been sued for being a volunteer sports administrator I’ve long ago learned that defending lawsuits is a giant pain in the ass even when you know you’re going to win.

Litigious ass clowns once identified as frivolous litigators should be subject to a mandatory beating to put an exclamation point on their transgressions that will remain in their memory.

    • NHSparky says:

I’ve also found that when dipshits like Colt, et al, post stuff intended for us to view, it’s always a good idea to spoof your IP address behind a VPN and make sure your antivirus software is up to date.

That’s one of the ways Lawn Dart Danny got names and other info, by tracing the IP addresses back. And it’s amazing how easily a virus can be embedded into pdf and other documents.

He was batshit crazy, but just smart enough to be dangerous.

Only my humble opinion, but that troll sounds like an ASS WHOLE.

    I mean ASS MOLE

  13. HMC Ret says:

I’ve said before that I really get a kick out of sock puppets. They are ridiculously predictable. Mostly they are stupid, can’t spell, know little of grammar and a host of other stuff, but I really find that stuff funny. Mostly they take their beating for a few hours to days and then disappear into the sunset or mommy’s basement.
