Man shot in buttocks during possible north Birmingham home break-in

By Carol Robinson
A man was shot in the buttocks in northern Birmingham Monday morning, possibly while he was trying to break into a man’s home.

The shooting happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of 18th Place North in Fountain Heights. Birmingham police and fire medics responded to the parking lot of an apartment complex at 1532 18th Place North. Once on the scene, they found an adult male with the gunshot wound. He had run about a half block from where he was initially shot to complex.

The man was awake and taken to UAB Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was accompanied by police to the hospital.

Moments later, a nearby resident showed up at the scene and claimed responsibility for the shooting. Witnesses said they heard multiple shots fired.

Security guard shoots attacker at Mexican restaurant in Lincoln

By Alia Conley / World-Herald staff writer
A security guard shot a man after he was attacked during an altercation at a Lincoln Mexican restaurant.

The skirmish occurred about 2 a.m. Sunday at La Cabana near 32nd Street and Cornhusker Highway. A 41-year-old security guard was trying to break up a fight between two people who had knives.

One 27-year-old man approached the guard and made slashing motions with the knife, Lincoln police said. The guard wrestled the knife away from the man and put him in a choke hold, but the man continued to punch the guard.

Another security guard, who is 25, tried to help but was attacked by three other men, police said. That guard fired multiple warning shots, police said, but the men continued to fight. The guard then shot one attacker, a 32-year-old man, in the shoulder.

‘I’d Like To Get My Name Back.’ Former Ford Employee Acted In Self-Defense When Shooting Coworkers

By Megan Hickey
CHICAGO (CBS) — A former Ford employee said he acted in self-defense when he fired his gun at work, and he’s still trying to clear his name.

He said he was tried in the court of public opinion before he ever stepped in a courtroom. But surveillance video helped shed some light on what actually happened.

From the headlines it seemed pretty cut and dry.

Then 50-year-old Ford employee Billy Cowart was charged with attempted murder for shooting off his gun in the United Auto Workers 551 parking lot in June 2016. He struck two fellow union members, both in the leg.

And within a matter of days Cowart was suspended and then terminated from his job with Ford where he had worked for nearly two decades.

But Cowart, a veteran with extensive combat training and a licensed CCW holder, said he pleaded with Ford and the union to understand that this was a clear case of self-defense.

The union here basically said, ‘You got what you deserved. Deal with it,’” he said. “I was crucified before the trial. I was the villain. I was the mad employee.”

Seems to me some range time is in order, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. The tally is four-of-a-kind, but the kind is all those removed to receive medical care, some prior to incarceration. Haven’t we had that little chat about “warning shots” often enough?
So none sent to the great beyond, four hospitalized and / or incarcerated, and none in the wind. Again. They are out there, though- Condition Yellow is your friend.

  1. Outcast says:

Buttocks, buttocks, not only needs range time but also maybe glasses, if your going to shoot that low at least identify the correct side of the body and neuter them so stupidity cannot be bred.

  2. 26Limabeans says:

“That guard fired multiple warning shots”

That guard needs to be fired without warning.

  3. Hondo says:

Yeah, the UAW really “helped” the Chicago guy when Ford fired him, didn’t they?

  4. Comm Center Rat says:

“I got shot in the buttocks. They said it was a million dollar wound, but the government must’ve kept that.” – Forrest Gump

  5. Outcast says:

Let’s see, bullet wound, instant cred in general population, display wound requires drop pants and bend over. Wait a sec, general population, Bubba still in room, bare Buttocks and bent over. Get the popcorn and drinks ready, film at 11.

  6. Ex-PH2 says:

He got shot in the ass, huh? Did he want to keep the bullet as a souvenir?

Lincoln, NE, used to be so civilized. I guess that’s all gone now.

No explanation AS TO why the Ford employee shot at co-workers. On the surface, seems he could have behaved better.

  7. 5th/77th FA says:

Your FIRST warning will be when the shot enters your soon to be carcass. You may and or may not “feel” the double tap. Shooting your ass may and or may not mean a buttocks shot.

Lincoln, like a number of other metro areas, has been overrun with the dindus. The meth and crack heads are everywhere now. No city or state is safe from them. Check the ethninticity in the video. My people out there tell me that despite a wealth of jobs available, many would rather hustle, rob, or steal than take a real job…. Sad, ain’t it.

Good chance that the union “colluded” with Ford. Call Mueller, got to be Trump’s fault. Most companies have a zero tolerance for weapons on company or associated properties. The “victim” was the aggressor in this case. Mr. Cowart was simply defending himself.

4 of a kind is still a fair payoff, I’ll take that. We’ll see most of the perps again.

Is it me or have y’all noticed that a Miss Ginger Thang with a pink crossdraw purse gets more comments than pics of plastic gun pr0n? Compare Monday’s FGS with today’s…..Just saying.

    • AW1Ed says:

I would postulate the relative comment count between the two posts has a bit more to do with the unfortunate location of the GSW suffered by the gentleman from Birmingham, than the type of eye candy displayed on the header.
      Just a hunch,
      Ed

  8. Daisy Cutter says:

At the risk of stating the obvious – someone busted a cap in his ass.

  9. Skyjumper says:

As far as the ass cheeks getting punctured, I guess one could say:

“The guy hit’em, where the good Lord split’em”.

Probably won’t be the only time this guy’s cheeks get split, especially if he winds up as a cell-mate with Julio, Thor, Tiny & Bubba.

  10. PJS says:

A man from Alabama was hit by a bullet in the butt-ocks? A million dollar wound, where have I heard that story before?
